Sony rolled out stable Android 9 Pie update for its Xperia XZ2 lineup last month and also promised to soon release the same for XZ1 family and XZ Premium. Keeping its promise, the company has now started releasing Android Pie for the XZ Premium, XZ1, and XZ1 Compact.

The update, which carries the build number 47.2.A.0.306, comes with Sony‘s updated camera user interface, 1080p 960fps slow-motion recording, and HDR enhancement for videos. The update also includes the October security patch. The older security patch could mean that the update rollout was delayed and the company spent time on bug-fixing.

Also, it’s noteworthy that the update doesn’t include Android Pie’s new gesture-based navigation. It appears that the update rollout is region-based so you might have to wait a couple of days before the new Android Pie hits your device.

As said, Sony updated the Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact last month with Android 9.0 update, along with the same October security patch. The company has also confirmed that the Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra, and Xperia XA2 Plus will receive the update early next year, probably in March.
