Many smartphone manufacturers have already launched 5G enabled smartphones in the market. All the 5G enabled smartphones other than the Samsung and Huawei depends on Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset and X50 modem. MediaTek is now coming soon with its “smart meet fast” 5G AI product. It is said to be fast and smart AI-powered chipset with 5G connectivity.

MediaTek is teasing the new 5G chipset featuring AI capabilities in an image via Weibo. It is expected to feature improved AI processor APU 2.0 as like on the Helio P90 SoC. However, the company didn’t reveal any other detail about the new chipset.

The upcoming MediaTek 5G chipset is reportedly built on a 7nm process and will fare better than the present Helio P90 SoC. Recently announced Helio M70 baseband chip is supposedly taking place on the MediaTek 5G chipset with sub-6GHz band support for better 5G connectivity.

We expect more details, including its launch date and other features to leak before the official launch by the end of this month.

MediaTek is already running late in bringing support for 5G connectivity. Whereas, Qualcomm is quite ahead with multiple 5G modems – X50 and X55.
