Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S5e in early 2019. This one-of-a-kind mid-range Android tablet from the South Korean tech giant is now receiving a new system update. The latest One UI software for the slate brings features from the Galaxy Z Fold3.

Ever since Samsung released the Galaxy Fold, it has been introducing new features for the tablet form factor. Almost all of these features are now also available on the flagship Galaxy Tab S series.

However, it is surprising to learn that Samsung is rolling out the latest features from Galaxy Z Fold3 to Galaxy Tab S5e. For those unaware, this mid-range tablet has almost reached the end of its software support.

Since the device has received two major system updates in the form of One UI 2.x (Android 10) and One UI 3.x (Android 11), it is now limited to biannual security updates.

But out of the blue, Samsung is now delivering new features from One UI 3.1.1 found on the new and older foldable smartphones without bumping up the version of One UI. According to GalaxyClub, the official changelog for the new OTA update mentions features like Multi-window, Edge-window, and Labs section.

These features help a lot in multi-tasking and productivity. As a result, existing users of Galaxy Tab S5e need not upgrade to a newer Galaxy S series tablet to experience the new software.

The One UI 3.1.1 features for the Galaxy Tab S5e arrive with firmware version T20XXU2DUJ1, which is being rolled out in batches around the world.
