Samsung‘s upcoming Galaxy XCover Pro 2 is said to be the brand’s first 5G rugged smartphone. The device has already been subject to multiple leaks and its renders have also emerged online. Now, a new report suggests that Samsung might adjust the naming scheme of the rugged smartphone.

According to a recent Google Play Console listing, the smartphone will have a different marketing name. Instead of the Galaxy XCover Pro 2, it will be called the Galaxy XCover6 Pro.

Other than that, the Google console listing has also confirmed many of the specifications of the upcoming rugged device.

Based on the listing, the smartphone has the model number SM-G736U and will come with Qualcomm’s SM7325 chipset, with four cores clocked at 2.4GHz and four cores with a clock speed of 1.8GHz. This is the Snapdragon 778G SoC.
The smartphone will feature a Full HD+ display with 1080 x 2408 pixel resolution and a pixel density of 450 dots per inch. It will also have a dew-drop notch and thick bezels going around the display. Going by the previous leaks, the screen size of the device will be 6.5-inches and it will be an AMOLED panel. It will measure 169.5mm x 81.1mm x 10.1mm and will feature an Android 12-based operating system along with a 3.5mm audio jack.
The launch window of the device along with its price point is still under wraps, however, the Google Console appearance hits that it may launch in the coming months.
