Xiaomi recently announced that the much-awaited launch conference which was postponed would now hold on December 11. The company will be taking the wraps off a number of products including the flagship Xiaomi 13 series. An earlier teaser poster shows that the company will equally unveil a new speaker on that day. The Xiaomi Sound Pro, as it is called, has now gone up for pre-orders in China via Jingdong (JD.com).
The Xiaomi Sound Pro is the successor of the Xiaomi Sound which was launched last year. The product page shows that the Xiaomi Sound Pro will come in black but there may also be a silver color variant just like its predecessor. The gross weight of the device and the package box is 3.08kg. The JD listing also shows that the device will feature support for SBC and AAC audio transmission protocols, has an 8Ω impedance, and supports AUX 3.5mm input. However, it is possible that the listed configurations are merely placeholders and so, should be taken with a pinch of salt.
The teaser earlier released by Xiaomi suggests that the Sound Pro will come with some improvements in the sound output, bringing what Xiaomi describes as “flagship-level acoustic design and dual enjoyment of hearing and vision”, perhaps referring to the aesthetic appeal and vivid sound output the speaker promises to deliver.
Judging from the teaser poster, Xiaomi Sound Pro is likely to move the overall sound unit down while continuing the Sound acrylic shell, resulting in a larger sound cavity volume and better sound quality.
As a reminder, the Xiaomi SOund was launched as the brand’s first smart speaker. It features a compact body and surprisingly, the internal configuration is designed to output a powerful sound. The speaker is also embedded with Harman AudioEFX which allows the speaker to transform into a powerhouse of deep and rich low-frequency sound without damaging the hardware.
