Vivo is reportedly preparing to launch a new smartphone in its Y series. The most recent addition to this lineup was the Vivo Y78+, which was recently released in China, boasting a premium design, OLED display, and other impressive features. The upcoming smartphone is rumored to be named Vivo Y36 4G and is expected to be launched in May as an affordable option. While we await an official announcement, the device has surfaced on the Geekbench website, revealing some key details.

Vivo Y36 will be a mid-range smartphone

The Vivo Y36 4G, with the model number V2247, has been discovered on the Geekbench website. The phone features a processor with a motherboard codenamed “Bengal” and is equipped with four cores clocked at 2.4GHz and four cores clocked at 1.9GHz. It is accompanied by an Adreno 610 GPU. These specifications suggest that the device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC.

The listed variant of the Y36 4G comes with 8GB of RAM, but it’s possible that the brand may announce additional storage options during the launch. In terms of benchmark scores, the Y36 4G achieved 410 and 1343 in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. The phone will be running Android 13 out of the box.

A recent report revealed the smartphone will be launched in India with a price range of Rs 18,000 to Rs 20,000. It is said to get a large 6.8-inch LCD display likely with a 90Hz refresh rate and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The upcoming Vivo Y36 4G is expected to sport a 50MP primary camera on the rear with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 44W fast charging.
