Apple Music Classical, a new dedicated application for classical music from the Cupertino-based technology giant, is now finally available on Android.
The application was first launched for the iOS platform in March of this year with a design that makes it easier for users to discover and listen to classical music. It focuses on offering users an immersive experience while listening to classical music.
For Android users, the app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store, with the requirement being that the device runs Android 9 or a later version of the operating system. Although it’s a separate app, it is a part of an Apple Music subscription, with an individual subscription costing $10.99 per month, while a family subscription costs $16.99 per month.
Apple Music Classical includes over five million classical music tracks, including new high-quality releases. Additionally, there are hundreds of curated playlists, thousands of exclusive albums, live radio stations, and more. Users can also search for music using keyword combinations that include composer, work, opus number, conductor, artist, or instrument.
While playing the music, the app shows composer biographies and more information about the piece of music playing at the time. It supports high-quality audio and can stream music in up to 129KHz and 24-bit Hi-Res Lossless mode. There’s also support for Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos for select tracks.
