Tecno is all set to join the clamshell foldable phone bandwagon. The brand has announced the launch date of the Phantom V Flip today. The upcoming offering will see the company competing against the likes of foldable flip phones offered by brands like Samsung, Motorola, OPPO, and more in the market. To recall, Tecno had launched the Phantom Fold V earlier this year. The Tecno Phantom V Flip has already appeared in leaks and rumors revealing its key details ahead of the launch. 

Tecno Phantom V Flip launch confirmed

Tecno will unveil the Phantom V Flip on September 22 in Singapore. The event will begin at 3 pm local time. The company states that the upcoming clamshell device reflects their commitment to exploring new form factors and redefining the style and functionality of flip phones for passionate, fashionable, and forward-looking audiences. The launch invite poster does not reveal any details about the Phantom V Flip but we assume it will feature a slim profile design. 

Tecno will also launch the MegaBook T1 2023 14-inch laptop alongside the Phantom V Flip at the event. 

As per leaked renders, the Tecno Phantom V Flip has a unique rear panel design that will differentiate it from other clamshell foldables in the market. It features a circular module that accommodates two camera sensors and an LED flash unit on the outer ring and a small 1.39-inch secondary display on the inside. This is unlike the conventional separation of cameras and the display on other flip phones. 

The Tecno Phantom V Flip has already bagged various certifications. As per the Google Play Console listing, it is expected to come with an FHD+ resolution and reportedly a 6.75-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The upcoming offering is tipped to be equipped with a Dimensity 1300 SoC paired with 8GB RAM and run on Android 13 OS. Meanwhile, as per the FCC listing, the Phantom V Flip is expected to be backed by 1,165 and 2,735mAh dual batteries with support for 45W fast charging.
