Vivo has unveiled the Y300, its newest smartphone in the Y series, for the Chinese market. The phone differs significantly from the Y300 5G launched in India last month and rather bears a closer resemblance to the Y300 Pro released three months ago.
Vivo Y300 Specifications
The Y300 boasts a large 6.77-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with a peak brightness of up to 1800 nits. The display utilizes Diamond Shield glass for protection and offers 3840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming (increased to this level when developer mode is activated, with a default setting of 2160Hz) for reduced eye strain.
Under the hood, the Y300 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC, a reliable processor for everyday tasks. However, the phone’s standout feature lies in its innovative rear speaker system.
Developed in collaboration with AAC Technologies, the Y300 features a triple-speaker setup consisting of an AAC 1326D rear speaker, AAC 1116B lower speakers, and Goertek 0809 upper speakers.
According to Vivo, this configuration delivers a peak power of 4.5W and is a staggering 600% louder than standard phone speakers. Additionally, the phone boasts 3D panoramic audio for an immersive listening experience.
While camera specifications are not the primary focus of this phone, the Y300 comes equipped with a 50MP main rear camera paired with a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, an 8MP camera handles selfies and video calls.
The Y300 comes in three color options: Green Pine, Snow White, and Star Diamond Black. Despite packing a large 6500mAh battery with a high energy density of 776Wh/L, the phone maintains a sleek profile at just 7.79mm thin. For added durability, the Y300 features an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, alongside SGS five-star drop and fall certification.
Price and Availability
The Vivo Y300 is available for CNY 1,399 ($192/€182) for 8/128 GB and then goes CNY 1,599 ($220/€210) for 8/256 GB, CNY 1,799 ($245/€235) for 12/256 GB, and CNY 1,999 ($275/€260) for 12/512 GB models.
