Longer software support is essential for enjoy new features without frequently upgrading to a new device. This is a growing trend, particularly among smartphone buyers, often seen as a key advantage when choosing a phone.
Samsung has been impressive with its software update policy. In fact, it offers the best software support among dozens of Android brands. With the Galaxy S24 series launch, it started offering as many as seven Android OS upgrades to newer high-end phones, though many older flagships and mid-range phones are limited to just three.
We already have a list of Galaxy devices that will get seven Android OS updates and four Android OS updates. Now, we have created this new list to include all Galaxy devices that will get three Android upgrades.

How Samsung’s software update policy compares to other brands?
When it comes to excellent software support for Android devices, there are only two brands in my mind: Samsung and Google. Both now offer seven years of Android updates to their premium devices — the maximum you can get on any Android device. What’s more impressive is their rollout speed. They are often quicker than other Android brands in bringing the latest Android OS to their devices.
Even for mid-range and cheaper models, there’s no match to Samsung. Most of them get three or four major updates, which is what other brands promise to their expensive models. The $200 Galaxy A16 5G came as a surprise last year, promising as many as six Android updates.
Samsung continues to impress us with its excellent software support, and hopefully, things will only keep getting better over the coming years.
