Ahead of the scheduled April 12 launch in China, the Oppo A3 Pro has now been spotted on China Telecom’s website with high-definition renders and more importantly, its full specification. So let’s take a look at what the phone has to offer in advance.

A slick and lightweight phone with a curved design

Firstly, the Oppo A3 Pro comes in a curved front and back design. There is a big circular back camera in the middle and a centered punch-hole for the selfie camera. The bottom of the device equips the Type-C port, primary microphone, SIM card tray, and speaker grill (bottom right). The top of the phone only includes the secondary microphone.

For those unfamiliar, it’s both lighter and thinner than the iPhone 15 Pro. The device will be available in three different colors, “distant mountain blue”, “sky blue,” and “cloud brocade pink”. The last one is also noted as the rose. The phone is currently available for reservations in the home country and as a result, live images of the phone have also surfaced on the internet.

Thanks to the China Telecom listing, basically all the key specifications of the phone are now confirmed. It will be available in three storage and memory configurations – 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB, and lastly 12GB + 512GB.

Speaking of the cameras, you will get a 64MP + 2MP dual-camera setup on the back along with an 8MO selfie shooter on the front.

The phone houses a 6.7-inch curved OLED with an FHD+ (2412 x 1080) resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It was recently spotted on the Geekbench running the Dimensity 7050 chipset, which is backed by a 5000 mAh battery and 67W charging. A special feature of the phone which none of the latest iPhone or Galaxy offer, is the IP69 dust and water-resistant rating.

According to the China Telecom’s listing, the retail price may start form 1999 Yuan, which is equivalent to Rs 23,000 or $276.

Meta’s XR Dominance Wanes as Market Declines: 2023 Shipment Analysis

Extended reality technology is gaining popularity day by day, or so we thought. After Apple introduced the Vision Pro, this technology, which we hear about almost every day, is one of the most popular topics of tech word along with artificial intelligence. However, it seems that this popularity has not been reflected in sales. Because the global XR headset market saw a substantial drop in 2023. Here are the details…

XR Headset Market Sees First Significant Decline After Years of Growth

According to Counterpoint, shipments of Global Extended Reality (XR) headsets experienced a 19% decrease compared to the previous year. This is a notable shift for a market that has steadily grown in recent years. New product releases played a mitigating role – Sony’s PlayStation VR2 and Meta Quest 3 helped lessen the severity of the decline. Still, even these products couldn’t fully reverse the downward trend.

While Counterpoint’s research doesn’t specify the decline’s root cause, there are two plausible explanations. First, the announcement of Apple’s Vision Pro headset, though released in February, may have dampened demand in 2023. Leaks about the product circulated long before its announcement, potentially leading those considering an XR investment to hold out for what they might deem a superior option.

Another, perhaps more likely, reason lies in the state of the technology itself. VR and AR have undoubtedly advanced, but they remain niche and expensive for widespread, everyday use beyond a few standout games and applications. Many headset owners may find their devices collecting dust shortly after the initial novelty wears off. Potential buyers might then hesitate at the prospect of these sizable price tags.

Of course, we’ll need to wait for 2024’s results to draw definitive conclusions, and considering the first quarter is nearly over, this insight may arrive sooner than later. Counterpoint’s report also illustrates a challenge for Meta, the current industry leader. In 2023, the company captured 59% of total global XR headset shipments, a decrease from the 77% share in 2022. While PS VR2 certainly contributes to this, such a significant drop could hint at potential struggles for the company. With new entrants emerging, the social media giant may face even tougher competition in the years ahead.

Motorola has just shared a new teaser for an upcoming G series mid-range smartphone. The device in question is the Moto G64 5G, which is set to launch in the Indian market next week. But ahead of its official release, key specs and features of the device were revealed in the latest teaser. So let’s check it out.

Moto G64 5G Teaser

The brand confirmed that the G64 will be unveiled in India on 16th April 2024, which is the same date as the Motorola Edge 50 Pro’s European launch. This teaser added that it will even be the world’s first smartphone to arrive with the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 SoC. But that’s not all, Motorola further stated that the device packs a massive 6,000mAh battery pack, which it claims is the best in its segment. This means that we can expect it to be a mid-range handset.

Moto G64 5G

Based on what we know so far, it will arrive with support for 33W fast charging. On the front, it sports a 6.5-inch LCD panel that offers a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. GC Daily: Now You Can Find Your Pixel Device even when it’s Switched Off

Android users have something to celebrate, as Google has finally announced an update to the Find My Device network. Now you can track your lost Android smartphones even without internet access, all thanks to the help of nearby Bluetooth devices. This works much like Apple’s Find My service.

What’s more interesting is that in the case of select smartphones like the Pixel series, you can find the device even when the phone is turned off or the battery is dead!

Pixel fans have yet another exciting piece of news: we recently found the first mention of the Pixel 9 series inside the latest Google app version.

Since we are talking about finding lost phones, how about finding a Galaxy S24 Ultra that fell during a skydiving session?

Frank Carballido accidentally dropped his Galaxy S24 Ultra while skydiving, falling down nearly 1200 feet. But what surprised him was how the phone not only was transmitting a signal after the fall, but also survived relatively well.

Another interesting update from yesterday was the new Fairphone TWS earbuds. Unlike your regular TWS, these can be repaired if something goes wrong or if the battery onboard loses capacity. Battery degradation has been one of the biggest reasons for TWS like AirPods being discarded. But if you can replace the battery on your TWS, you are likely to be able to use the earbuds for a very long time.

⚠️ DEAL ALERT: Grab the OnePlus Nord CE 3 5G at an unbeatable price of Rs 15,899!

It also looks like the next Apple Watch could get a significant update in terms of battery life. The Watch Series 10 will reportedly use an upgraded OLED display with low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) thin-film transistor (TFT) technology. This should ensure that the new model comes with a much better battery life.

The Apple Watch Series 10 Could See a Huge Battery Life Increase, Thanks to a Display Upgrade

There is some good news for Apple Watch users. If you are looking to upgrade your watch, the upcoming Series 10 could see a significant battery life improvement thanks to a new display technology, according to supply chain sources.

The current Apple Watch uses LTPO only for a few parts on the display

Korean tech publication The Elec reports that the Series 10 will use an upgraded OLED display with low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) thin-film transistor (TFT) technology. Currently, the Apple Watch uses LTPO for only a few parts of its OLED screen, relying on less efficient technology elsewhere.

Here’s the key takeaway: Apple Watch Series 10 is expected to use LTPO more extensively. This shift from LTPS to oxide in the driver transistors translates to these display-pixel-connected transistors being made from oxide. LTPO OLEDs utilize oxides to minimize leakage current, and this new approach signifies a broader application of oxides within the display. Manufacturers specializing in oxide technology are likely to benefit from this change. This translates to a longer battery life, which is a major concern for most users.

However, it is noteworthy that newer features in the Series 10 watch might offset the efficiency gains from the new display. Still, the potential for a longer-lasting Apple Watch is exciting news for fans of the wearable. The Apple Watch is the highest selling smartwatch in the world, so it’s easy to see where loyal customers of the company stem from.

Delivery: Production is ramping up, with deliveries of the non-foundational versions (SU7 and SU7 Max) expected in late April. The SU7 Pro will follow in late May.

Privacy and In-Car Video: While the car can record video for security purposes (Sentry Mode), these recordings are blurred when accessed remotely via the app to protect privacy. Inside the car, the footage remains unblurred for easy viewing.

Xiaomi SU7

Electric Tailgate Control: The SU7 Pro lacks physical buttons for the tailgate. Users can control it with voice commands (“open the tail wing”) through the car’s AI assistant (Xiao Ai) or by adjusting settings on the central touchscreen.

Hardware Modifications: Xiaomi discourages any unauthorized hardware modifications, citing potential safety and quality risks. The car’s original hardware has undergone rigorous testing to ensure reliability and performance.

Track Driving: Xiaomi advises against attempting extreme driving like track racing. Track conditions put immense stress on the car’s components, requiring professional maintenance and expertise.

Braking Performance: The SU7 Max uses NAO friction pads, a mainstream choice that balances noise and performance for everyday driving. It meets national standards and delivers an industry-leading 100km/h to 0 braking distance of 33.3 meters.

SiC Silicon Carbide Platform: This refers to the power modules used in the SU7. Compared to traditional silicon (Si) IGBTs, SiC offers higher efficiency due to lower switching losses. While more expensive, Xiaomi utilizes SiC throughout the SU7 (motor, charger, air conditioning compressor) for optimal energy efficiency. This is one of the factors contributing to the SU7’s low energy consumption.
