The base 8GB + 256GB variant of the smartphone will cost €449 in Spain and Italy. Whereas, it will retail at €499 in France and the Netherlands.

The product will be available in three colors, namely Midnight Black, Moonlight White, and Aurora Purple. The latter version will have a leather back as opposed to a glass panel on the former two.

The information comes from MacRumors citing a source familiar with companies that manufacture magnets for Apple products. The company’s flagship tablets are tipped to get support for wireless charging.

Next-generation iPad Pro may feature MagSafe charging

Over the last few years, Apple has been working on making features universal across its product portfolio. These include its propreitary silicon processors on Macs and iPads, MagSafe charging, and the USB-C port on all devices across categories. As per a previous report, the Cupertino-based tech giant is also planning to transition to OLED displays on the iPad and MacBooks by 2027.

MacRumors reports that Apple could introduce MagSafe wireless charging on the iPad Pros next year. The current tablets sport a metal unibody making them incompatible with wireless chargers. A glass or plastic back panel is required to support the charging technology. Previously, Bloomberg’s reliable Mark Gurman had revealed that the Cupertino-based tech giant was planning glass back for the 2022 iPad Pro but it did not materialize.

Cut to today, previous reports hint at Apple refreshing its entire iPad lineup with the Pro models getting significant upgrades next year. The iPad Pro in 2024 is speculated to boast OLED display panel, M3 chipsets, and an entirely new design. Notably, Apple hasn’t updated the design of its flagship tablets in several years. It remains to be seen what new design the company will adopt for its next-generation iPad Pro.

A glass back panel would allow the iPad Pro to be compatible with wireless accessories as well as the MagSafe charger. This would also eliminate the need for different chargers required for owners of Apple devices and users could get out more of their existing MagSafe charging pads. MacRumors also adds that the MagSafe charging for the next year’s iPad Pro they’re hearing about may be similar to Apple’s wired charging solution for Macs rather than iPhone’s magnetic charging tech.

Huawei has quietly launched a new laptop for businesses in China. The notebook officially goes by Huawei Qingyun S520. It is the company’s second such computer this month after the Kirin 9006C-powered Qingyun L540.

The latest model is a 14-inch laptop powered by Intel processors. It comes in two variants featuring different chips and varying storage capacities. Let’s check out what this device has to offer.

Huawei Qingyun S520 Specifications

Huawei’s new enterprise laptop features a metal body like almost all its laptops. Its thinnest point measures just 17.2mm and the entire product weighs about 1.45g.

The notebook has a 180° hinge and a full-size backlit keyboard without a numpad. There’s a big enough touchpad measuring 120 x 72 mm and a power key with an embedded fingerprint sensor.

The laptop sports a 14-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The IPS LCD panel covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut and supports up to 300 nits typical brightness level.

An earlier report from CyberDaily revealed that the hacker group Rhysida managed to get away with sensitive information regarding the current and former employees and even shared a screenshot of the upcoming Wolverine game. A fresh report from the same cybersecurity news website stated that the group announced an auction price for this data. This auction was set to start at 50 bitcoins (roughly 2 million US Dollars) along with a seven day deadline to pay.

The report adds that a total of 1.67TB of data that includes over 1.3 million files. Out of this, Rhysdia shared a bunch of details regarding the Wolverine game, which includes gameplay footage as well as level design and mechanics. Details of unreleased Insomniac and Sony games, screenshots of internal spreadsheets, and development and marketing budget details were also revealed. The videos are already circulating X (formerly Twitter) and showcases the iconic superhero using his powerful sense of smell to locate objectives.

It is made available to Verizon, T-Mobile, and MetroPCS carriers with unlocked units soon after.

Realme recently launched the C67 5G smartphone in India. As expected the brand today has announced a 4G variant of the C67 smartphone in Indonesia. The device packs slightly different specifications and design compared to its 5G counterpart. It is a budget offering. Read on to know what the C67 5G offers out of the box.

Realme C67 4G specifications and features

The Realme C67 4G has a 6.72-inch centre-aligned punch-hole cutout display bearing an FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The punch-hole cutout shows notifications and system status info. It is IP54-certified dust and water-resistant. The phone features a boxy design with the power button doubling up as a fingerprint scanner. The back panel of the device has a pill-shaped camera module.

On the optics front, the Realme C67 4G sports dual rear camera setup of 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM6 primary sensor with a 3x in-sensor zoom and a 2MP depth lens. There is an 8MP front-facing selfie snapper.

Internally, the Realme C67 4G is powered by a Snapdragon 685 processor. It packs 8GB RAM and is offered in 128GB and 256GB storage options. The smartphone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 33W fast charging.

The Realme C67 4G starts at IDR 2,599,000 (~$168) for the base 8GB + 128GB option whereas the 8GB + 256GB variant costs IDR 2,999,000 (~$193). The smartphone is offered in Sunny Oasis and Black Rock colors. It remains to be seen if the Realme C67 4G will make it to more markets.

Samsung is gearing up to unveil the new Galaxy Tab Active 5, which is a part of its popular rugged tablet lineup. But before its official announcement, we covered various reports regarding the upcoming tablet, with the latest sighting being in Singapore’s IMDA certification authority.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 5 Wi-Fi Model visits IMDA

The South Korean tech giant’s new Galaxy Tab Active 5 was spotted on the IMDA database carrying the model number SM-X300. Just recently, the Galaxy Tab Active 5 surfaced on the TDRA, FCC, and Safety Korea certification. These sightings also featured the SM-X300 model number or some variants like the SM-X306B for the 5G enabled model. On the IMDA certification, the Galaxy Tab Active 5 was listed under the low power device section.

It is also worth noting that the Wi-Fi only model of the upcoming tablet was sighted on this database, which also confirms Bluetooth connectivity. Based on what we know so far, the Galaxy Tab Active 5 will be equipped with the Exynos 1380 SoC that is paired with at least one variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The memory can be further expanded by up to 64GB via a microSD card slot.

The new tablet will run on the latest Android 14 OS out of the box and even arrive with support for an S-Pen. It is expected to launch in a Black and Gray color variant as well. Notably, the Galaxy Tab Active 5 was also spotted with a 15W fast charger. Unfortunately, finer details like the specifications, design, and pricing of the new tablet are still at large. OnePlus 9R and OnePlus 8 receiving December 2023 Security Patch Update

OnePlus is bringing a new firmware update for the OnePlus 9R and OnePlus 8 smartphones in India. The OnePlus 9R is receiving the OxygenOS 13.1.0.585 firmware, and the OnePlus 8 gets the OxygenOS 13.1.0.585 update. Both smartphones are receiving the latest security patch via incremental OTA. However, there’s a slight delay for the OnePlus 8 Pro to receive the same update after a few days.

As per the official changelog, both smartphones are receiving the December 2023 Android Security patch, which will strengthen overall security. Apart from this, there could be slight bug fixes and performance improvements that are not listed in the official changelog.

As it is an incremental update, the users may get it after a delay of a few days. Such updates are first rolled out to a small number of users, and upon successful verification, a broader rollout takes place. The interested user can also manually check for the date by heading over to the device Settings > About > Software Updates > Check for Updates.

If any user finds any bug while using the latest build, they can always submit it via Google Dialer by typing *#800# or visiting the OnePlus Community.

OnePlus is bringing the latest Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 update to its compatible smartphones. There, he encountered the description: “Raises ride height and pressurizes battery when driving through water.” Of course, the Cybertruck was designed to withstand challenging conditions, so durability in different terrain is not a surprise. However, the ability to travel on the water is a delightful surprise.

As you know, Tesla Cybertruck is priced between $60,000 and $100,000. Therefore, no one has taken this expensive vehicle for a “swim” yet. Moreover, there’s uncertainty about how the feature functions under specific conditions, and we’re also unsure if Tesla would cover any potential malfunctions under warranty. As you also know, saltwater is practically toxic for electronic devices.

Nevertheless, Musk mentioned in his speech that the Cybertruck is designed to handle go in the sea. Unfortunately, despite our curiosity about all these questions, we’re left with no option but to wait for answers for now.

Google Settles Play Store Antitrust Lawsuit with $700 Million and Play Store Tweaks

Google‘s parent company, Alphabet, has made amends in a major antitrust lawsuit. Facing pressure from all 50 US states and consumers, they’ve agreed to a $700 million settlement and tweak the Google Play Store’s policies to open up the Android app market.

The accusations? Google allegedly used unfair tactics to force developers to use the Play Store exclusively, inflating app prices in the process. They pocketed up to 30% of each Play Store transaction, a hefty chunk that consumers and developers alike felt the sting of.

Google to pay $700 million to settle antitrust lawsuit

Now, to settle the legal mess, Google agreed to pay up big and loosen its grip on the Play Store ecosystem:

$630 million consumer fund: This pot of money will go to consumers who may have overpaid for in-app purchases via Google Play. The distribution of the fund will be court-approved, though specifics on distribution haven’t been revealed.
$70 million state fund: Google will pay states an additional $70 million to cover state AGs see fit.

To make amends, Google is also opening up the app ecosystem. Developers will now have the choice to use a separate billing system, saving them 4% on those hefty fees.

Google’s been testing this system for over a year, and now it should finally go official. Plus, developers can now offer different price options within apps, giving consumers more flexibility.

Moreover, the Play Store’s hold on app downloads is loosening too. Google is making it easier for users to download apps directly from developers’ websites, bypassing the Play Store entirely.

They’re also toning down the warnings that pop up when sideloading apps. The message when sideloading the app will now read “Your phone currently isn’t configured to install apps from this source. Granting this source permission to install apps could place your phone and data at risk.”

Likewise, for phone makers, the Play Store isn’t the only game in town anymore. They can pre-install other app stores without Google’s permission, even skipping the Play Store altogether. And in the upcoming Android 14, these alternative stores can even handle app updates, taking another slice of power away from Google’s grip.

LG has just announced its new lineup of soundbars that are set to launch next year. The 2024 lineup will consist of the S95TR, SG10TY, and S70TY soundbar models, which promise to offer a high end audio experience that blends design and performance.

The South Korean tech giant’s upcoming soundbars feature a sleek design and come with support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X technology. With this, the company claims that the latest soundbars will offer top notch sound quality as well as a more immersive experience. The experience is further enhanced with the inclusion of WOWCast wireless technology. This is basically a connectivity feature that enables wireless connection between the S95TR and SG10TY models and LG TVs.

The technology promises to bring better sound when paired with Dolby Atmos. LG’s S95TR soundbar is the top end model, featuring an impressive 810W output. These soundbars are capable of outputting surround sound through its 15 channels. The S95TR model also has an up-firing speakers and tweeters. Another notable feature is the triple level spatial sound technology and AI room calibration technology. Apart from these soundbars, LG shared its plans to announce new editions of speakers, earbuds, and more across the globe.
