Learn More about Tesla Model 3 Highland’s Innovative ‘Active Hood’ Feature

Tesla‘s latest iteration of the Model 3, nicknamed “Highland,” isn’t just a mere facelift of its popular electric vehicle; it represents a significant leap in pedestrian safety. Among its upgrades, such as a classier interior and a quieter ride, the most striking addition is the “Active Hood” feature, aimed at safeguarding pedestrians during collisions.

The car’s hood elevates in case of an impact to protect the pedestrian

This innovative safety mechanism is designed to activate during impacts with pedestrians at speeds between 30 and 52 kilometers per hour. When a collision is detected, the rear part of the hood elevates by approximately 80 millimeters, acting as a protective cushion for the pedestrian’s head. This not only showcases Tesla’s commitment to safety but also highlights an often-overlooked aspect of vehicle design: pedestrian protection.

Tesla Model 3

Moreover, the Model 3’s safety arsenal doesn’t end there. Another hidden gem is the addition of metal hooks on the lower part of the doors, ensuring they remain aligned during crashes, thereby enhancing the structural integrity of the vehicle. This thoughtful design choice underscores Tesla’s holistic approach to safety, addressing both occupants and external parties.

Interestingly, the Model 3 also tackles driver safety with a novel feature – the “Driver Drowsiness Warning.” Utilizing the cabin-facing camera, this system monitors the driver’s yawns and blink rate, alerting them of potential fatigue. This proactive approach to driver alertness could be a game-changer in preventing accidents caused by drowsiness.

Although these features are currently available in European models, they are expected to be included in the North American versions soon.

Protecting our personal information has become more challenging than ever in today’s digital age. With the prevalence of social media, smartphones, mobile apps, and data leaks, it has become easier than ever to learn everything about someone. This is a serious concern for many of us, especially a significant threat for younger individuals. Recently, the police issued a warning to parents who use iPhones, urging them to disable the NameDrop feature.

Police Recommend Disabling New iPhone Function

With the introduction of iOS 17, accompanying the iPhone 15, Apple has brought many innovations into our lives. One of these is the NameDrop feature, a new and fast way to share contact information. This feature, introduced with the iOS 17.1 update, allows you to share your information by bringing your iPhone or Apple Watch close to another person’s Apple device. However, experts express concerns about this feature and the potential problems it may cause.

The U.S. police department, emphasizing the vulnerability of young users, warned parents that “your child’s contact information can easily be obtained by others.” To prevent potential disasters, they strongly advised disabling the NameDrop feature. Here are the steps to disable the NameDrop feature:

  • Go to Settings to disable the “NameDrop” feature.
  • Click on the General option.
  • Go to AirDrop.
  • Disable the “NameDrop” feature by turning off the switch under the Merge Devices heading.

As of now, Apple has not provided any official statement regarding this matter. However, details such as the requirement for the lock screen to be active for the feature to be used may convince that Apple is secure enough in terms of security

Google to delete inactive Gmail accounts starting December 2023

Google is preparing to delete inactive Gmail accounts starting from December 1, 2023. This decision targets accounts that have not been used in the past two years, encompassing all associated data, including emails, Drive files, Photos, and Contacts.

The decision to delete inactive accounts stems from the increased vulnerability of older accounts to cyberattacks.

According to Google’s internal data, inactive accounts are ten times less likely to have two-factor authentication enabled compared to active accounts. This lack of security measures leaves older accounts more susceptible to hacking attempts.

Moreover, any external services linked to an inactive Gmail account are also at risk of compromise. To address these concerns and protect user data, Google has opted to remove accounts that have been dormant for two years.

However, not all inactive accounts will be deleted immediately. Google will begin removing accounts gradually, starting in December 2023, in small batches. This phased approach allows users time to reactivate their accounts if they still wish to use them.

Once an account is deleted, all associated data will be permanently removed, including emails, Drive files, documents, meetings, and any other files. This process is irreversible, and users will not be able to recover their data.

Keep your Gmail account active: Tips to avoid deletion

To prevent their accounts from being deleted, users can simply sign in to their Gmail accounts at least once every two years. This minimal activity will keep their accounts active and prevent them from being removed.

Apart from regular sign-ins, users can engage in various activities to keep their accounts active and prevent deletion. These include:

  • Using Google Drive
  • Watching YouTube videos
  • Downloading apps from the Google Play Store
  • Performing Google Searches
  • Utilizing Sign-in with Google for third-party apps or services

It is important to note that Google currently has no plans to delete inactive accounts with YouTube videos. This means that if an old unused account is linked to YouTube and has a public video on it, Google will not delete that account despite inactivity. However, the company may update this policy in the future.

OnePlus 12 is officially claimed to beat all its competitors in terms of performance

OnePlus officially announces the launch event for the OnePlus 12 scheduled to be held on December 5. Li Jie, the president of OnePlus in China, denotes the OnePlus 12 as the ‘flagship of the decade’. He also made a bold claim: the upcoming flagship from OnePlus will beat all other Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 powered phones in the market in terms of raw power.

After investing more than one year in development, the team is finally confident to make the bold claim

This claim becomes a thought-provoking one when you think about gaming beasts such as the Red Magic 9 Pro with exclusive hardware and tuning for the said purpose. Well, we’ll have to see in reality, but for now, this is what he claims.

After the announcement of the launch event, Li Jie talked about his mixed feelings about the product. He noted the highly ambitious goal of the team to make the OnePlus 12 surpass all other flagships of its time with raw power. At the same time, he mentioned that he has never dared to claim it publicly. Rather, the team continued to adjust, polish, and optimize multiple aspects of the phone under the hood.

After all the work, Li Jie finally feels confident and proud to share that the OnePlus 12 has achieved its goal.

Undoubtedly, the phone comes with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, which according to the team has set a new performance record on the upcoming OnePlus flagship. The phone boasts a world-class “2k Oriental Screen“. Additionally, the phone is reported to bring an eye care solution with the display that’s ‘never seen before’ in the industry.

Regarding cameras, the brand has collaborated with Hasselblad, as usual. The phone houses a Sony LYT-808 image sensor inside the main camera. It also comes with a “New generation super light and shadow imaging system” implemented by Hasselblad. Li Jie further states that the company has invested quite a lot of time and effort to compete with all other flagships not just in terms of the performance but an overall user experience.

Redmi K70 Pro Display Specs Teased Officially

Xiaomi’s Product Director, Wang Teng Thomas, reported today on Weibo that the launch event for the upcoming Redmi K70 Pro is scheduled for November 29, marking the 10th anniversary of Redmi. We are just hours away from the official release at this point.

A claim for 4000 nits peak brightness with additional eye-care solutions built in

Redmi K70 Pro

The Redmi K70 Pro display features a ‘second-generation 2K screen’ manufactured by TCL, supporting a whopping 4000 nits peak brightness. The screen brings comprehensive upgrades in several factors such as colors, touch sampling rate, and, more importantly, includes built-in eye-care solutions.

To implement this, Redmi has collaborated with eye hospitals to create eye care solutions and promote the comprehensive evolution of eye care standards under medical guidance.

The screen boasts a second-generation C8 display panel from TCL, which reportedly offers low power requirements for a given brightness, making the 4000nit rating possible. However, it remains to be seen whether this 4000 nits brightness applies to the entire panel or only a smaller portion of it. For reference, the Xiaomi 14 achieves a peak brightness of 2800 nits but only in a 10% window of HDR video under bright light.

Returning to the K70 Pro, it also offers a 3840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, which is rare in a 2K panel. The phone comes with a triple camera setup with a 50MP main and a 2x telephoto lens. The main camera also supports OIS stabilization.

The phone comes in a pure white ‘clear snow’ color. It adopts a flat design with a glossy aluminum frame and a glass back.

The Redmi K70 series includes three models:

@UniverseIce revealed yesterday that the entire series comes with a 12GB RAM option as the base compared to 8GB variants of the previous models.

The Galaxy S24 will be an “AI Phone,” confirms Samsung

The highly anticipated Galaxy S24 series from Samsung, which includes the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra, is scheduled to launch globally on January 17, 2024, according to an exclusive report from The Elec.

On the other hand, the South Korean manufacturer has been filing for trademarks for devices that are almost two years away, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy S25, in addition to ones that will be released in a few months.

In the past several months, the firm has also applied for trademarks for additional product categories, such as AR glasses and smart rings.

Galaxy S24 an AI Phone

Following SamMobile’s scoop on Samsung’s intentions to concentrate on AI with its upcoming flagship, the company confirmed the news by unveiling the Galaxy AI experience, which will launch alongside the Galaxy S24 series and include a variety of AI capabilities.

Galaxy Club, a Dutch website, has found a number of other applications in several countries, one of which reveals that the Galaxy S24 will be launched as an AI phone. The brand has registered trademarks for titles like AI Phone and AI Smartphone to demonstrate how serious it is about the whole AI thing.

With an emphasis on augmented reality glasses, the business is also aiming to acquire trademarks for televisions, smartphone screens, and other goods bearing names and logos like Magic Pixel, Flex Magic, and Flex Magic Pixel.

Again, this is a great sign of how artificial intelligence (AI) will be the most talked about keyword when the Galaxy S24 series is launched. However, these names are a bit limiting, and therefore Samsung might not be awarded these trademarks.
