Known tipster Ice Universe has just shared new images of protective covers for the Gaaxy S23 series. In the images, we can clearly see cases for the base Galaxy S23, the Galaxy S23 Plus, and even the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Based on recent CAD render leaks, the first two models appear to have no camera bumps this time around, while a raised design can be seen on the Galaxy S23 Ultra model.

The case leak isn’t surprising considering accessory makers typically making products before a device is even officially announced since they need to release the case alongside the new smartphones being launched. Looking at the images, it is clear that the Galaxy S23 series features a uniform design language that is nearly identical to its predecessors. This is more evident with the S23 Ultra that has that same camera setup as S22 Ultra.

While the rear design might appear similar to the previous gen, it isn’t an indicator regarding the actual specifications of the cameras. So, we might seen upgrades across the board with the S23 series. A few days back, key specs of the upcoming Honor Play 40 Plus leaked. Today, the device leaks in live images.

The pictures reveal that the smartphone will look like any other recent Honor and Huawei phones with two giant circles for cameras. Also, we get to see the handset in four colors.

According to the images shared by Whylab on Weibo, the Honor Play 40 Plus will have two big circles housing the rear cameras. However, unlike the Honor Play 30 Plus, circles on the 40 Plus will be part of the rear panel and the LED flash will be placed outside the circles.

Further, the device will sport a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. It will be available in four colors, such as black, blue, silver, and purple. The latter two options will be gradient, while the former two will be solid.

Talking about specifications, the smartphone will flaunt a 6.72-inch HD+ display (LCD) with a 90Hz refresh rate and a dewdrop notch. It will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC.

The phone will arrive with a 50MP + 2MP dual-camera system on the back and a 5MP front-facing camera. It will be backed by a 6,000mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast wired charging.

The handset is said to come in two memory configurations (8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB). It is rumored to go on sale starting October 28 in China.

Google Pixel 7 series faces issues with Pixel Stand dock support

Soon after the Google Pixel 6 series launch, reports had flooded the internet regarding a number of bugs and issues that the smartphone lineup faced. But with the Pixel 7 series launch, it appeared that the company had a more stable release this year. However, it appears that the new phones aren’t completely immune to bugs.

Apparently, the Pixel 7 series have been facing issues with its support for the Pixel Stand dock. A Reddit user who owns the Pixel 7 Pro took to the online platform to share the issues with the Pixel Stand that his flagship smartphone suffered from. He stated that “When putting my phone on it, it begins the setup process, but when it gets to the part where I can pick my Home control devices, the app crashes and returns to the home screen. Every so often I then get a prompt to set up the stand, I go through the process of setting it up, only to be prompted again 10 minutes later or so. On top of this, the phone is not charging.”

Notably, he claimed that his Pixel 6 Pro faced no such issues with the second gen Pixel Stand, and even performing a factory reset did not help the bug plaguing the Pixel 7 Pro. This user is not alone as other Pixel 7 series owners have come forward to share their experience with the Pixel Stand online. Another user alleged that his Pixel 7 device turned black while on the dock, while another claimed that he couldn’t unlock his phone once he took it off the stand.

Apparently, this issue was more common with more than one user complaining about the under display fingerprint sensor becoming unavailable on their phones after being taken off the dock. As of right now, there is no fix to this issue but we can expect Google to release a software update to address the bug.

OnePlus to launch new Pro flagship phone model as OnePlus 11: Report

With the year nearing its end, there have been numerous leaks regarding smartphone brands’ upcoming flagship smartphones that typically launch around the year end or at the start of the new year. Now, the latest leak reveals interesting details regarding the OnePlus 11 Pro, which might just be the base 11 model.

Earlier this year, the Chinese smartphone maker had launched the OnePlus 10 Pro as its first flagship model, with no base model to ever be released. However, a new report suggests that the brand will launch the OnePlus 11 this year. But this model will feature top notch specs and features that would’ve typically been found on a Pro variant, or possibly the OnePlus 11 Pro. The news arrives from known tipster Max Jambor who stated on Twitter that “The upcoming OnePlus Pro model is called OnePlus 11.”

In other words, the base 11 model will likely be the company’s true flagship model for at least the first half of next year. So similar to last year, one of the models will be missing, but this year it’s the OnePlus 11 Pro variant. As of right now, the new premium grade handset is expected to be unveiled sometime around the same launch period as the 10 Pro model in 2022. So we can expect a January 2023 launch.

Apart from this, there is also a possibility that the OnePlus 11 might be the first flagship for 2023 that features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. According to the listing, the POCO C50 has the model number 220733SPI and is codenamed snow. This is the model which will come to India. Interestingly, the codename suggests that this device will be a rebrand of the Redmi A1+ which launched a few days ago in India. Earlier this month, we had reported on a leak that claimed that Huawei is planning on launching a new smartphone series in China later this month. Now, an official announcement has confirmed that the Hi Nova 10 lineup will be launching on 20th October 2022.

As per official notes, the new devices from the Hi Nova 10 series include the base Hi Nova 10 and the Hi Nova 10 Pro variant. For those unaware, the Chinese tech giant had launched the Nova 10 and Nova 10 Pro earlier this year. However, due to the ongoing sanctions and restrictions, both handsets will be 4G only models. But now, the company is releasing the Hi Nova 10 series as the 5G enabled upgraded models. The Hi Nova 10 and Hi Nova 10 Pro will support 5G networking and are expected to have similar features as the Nova 10 lineup.

Based on earlier leaks, both models will support 5G, but the base model will come with 66W fast charging. On the other hand, the Pro variant will reportedly feature an impressive 100W fast charging support. Furthermore, the sale for the Hi Nova 10 will begin around 29th October 2022. The Nova 10 Pro model sports a 6.78 inch OLED display that has a 120Hz refresh rate and 2652 x 1200px resolution.

The front will also house a 60 megapixel front facing camera, while the entire Nova 10 series is equipped with the 4G Qualcomm Snapdragon 778 SoC. Since the Hi Nova 10 series is capable of 5G networking, it is unclear which processor will power the Hi Nova 10 and Hi Nova 10 Pro models. Motorola has launched a new E-series smartphone in India today. It is the budget Moto E22s. The latest offering packs identical specifications (apart from the rear camera) as the Moto E32 that was announced earlier this month. Read on to know what the smartphone offers out of the box.

Beginning with the display, the Moto E22s features a 6.5-inch screen bearing an HD+ resolution, a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout, and a thick chin at the bottom. It offers a 90Hz refresh rate. The device has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button and an IP52 water-repellent design.

The Moto E22s has two camera rings on the back housing a 16MP primary sensor paired with a 2MP depth lens and an LED flash unit. There is an 8MP front-facing selfie snapper. The device packs a host of camera-related features and modes.

Internally, the Moto E22s houses a MediaTek Helio G37 processor. It packs 4GB RAM and 64GB native storage expandable via a microSD card slot. A new report has just revealed interesting information regarding future plans of Lenovo for the smartphone market. The company could be planning on launching a new ThinkPhone handset, which might just be a rebranded Motorola Bronco model.

For those unaware, Lenovo acquired Motorola years ago and was initially planning on integrating the latter’s smartphone lineup into its own new smartphones. However, owing to the popularity of Moto branded phones, the Chinese consumer electronics maker decided to retain Motorola as a separate smartphone brand. So as Lenovo targeted the PC market, Motorola would focus on smaller screen devices like smartphones. But a new report has suggested that the Motorola Bronco might also launch with its parent company’s branding as well.

As per a 91Mobiles report, the Bronco was spotted along with its Lenovo variant carrying the same XT-2309 model number. In leaked images, we can see blurry renders of a handset that carries the iconic ThinkPad branding. Although, on closer inspection, it appears to have ThinkPhone etched onto the bottom right corner of the rear panel. Keep in mind that these are likely some early renders or renditions of the ThinkPhone, so it’s entirely possible that Lenovo makes some changes to its overall design.

Notably, a previous road map has revealed key details that might be seen in the Motorola Bronco model, which is set to be a flagship phone. This includes a top end Qualcomm processor (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2), FHD+ resolution with 165Hz refresh rate, up to 12GB of RAM, 50 megapixel rear cameras that might be paired with another 13 megapixel ultra wide angle lens and a macro or 2 megapixel depth shooter as well. The front would house a 16 megapixel selfie camera. So, if the Bronco is planned for a rebrand for the ThinkPhone, we can expect to see these high end specs.

The Vivo-owned brand iQOO is set to launch a new smartphone in China. The device is officially called iQOO Neo 7 and it will be an upper mid-range handset.

Teasers and leaks suggest that like the previous Neo models, this one will also be an affordable flagship (aka flagship killer). Therefore, it will likely offer iterative upgrades over its predecessor iQOO Neo 6.

Let’s take a look at all the details we know about the upcoming iQOO Neo 7 in this article.

iQOO Neo 7 Launch Date

The iQOO Neo 7 is scheduled to launch in China on October 20. It will be unveiled at an event set to begin at 7 PM GMT+8.

The conference will be live-streamed on Weibo and other leading Chinese video streaming platforms.

iQOO Neo 7 Design

The iQOO Neo 7 will sport a flat frame design like most smartphones on market right now. However, the flatness of the frame will not be pronounced as it will be not only thinner but curvy at the edges.

The front will be equipped with a centered punch-hole flat display. Whereas, the rear panel will house a rectangular island for cameras and an LED flash. Two of the sensors will be placed in a circle, while the third sensor and flash will be located below the circle.

The phone is being teased with a leather finish on the back. However, we believe that it may also arrive with a glass back.

iQOO Neo 7 Specifications

The iQOO Neo 7 has been confirmed to flaunt a 6.78-inch centered punch-hole Samsung E5 flat AMOLED display. The screen will offer a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels (FHD+), and up to 1,500 nits peak brightness.

The display will have support for up to 8000000:1 contrast ratio, HDR10+ content playback, and DC dimming. It will be powered by a dedicated display chip.

Further, the handset will house a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Plus SoC. The chipset will be paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It will boot Android 13 with OriginOS skin.

For photography and videography, it will use a triple camera system on the rear and a 16MP camera on the front. The main camera array will be headed by a 50MP Sony IMX766V sensor.

Last but not least, the iQOO Neo 7 will draw power from a 5,000mAh battery, which will carry support for 120W fast wired charging.

iQOO Neo 7 Expected Price

The iQOO Neo 7 is expected to be sold in three memory configurations, such as 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 256GB.

iQOO TWS Air gaming true wireless earbuds to launch in China on October 20

iQOO, a sub-brand of Vivo which was started to make premium high-end smartphones and is still focused on bringing gaming-focused phones to the market, is now all set to expand its portfolio of products.

The company has today confirmed through a teaser poster that it is all set to launch its first-ever true wireless earbuds in the Chinese market. The iQOO TWS Air will get launched on 20th October, along with the iQOO Neo7 series smartphones.

The teaser poster shared by the company shows the oval-shaped charging case of the upcoming TWS earbuds with the earphones inside them. The case is colored black on the outside, while it has yellow color on the inside of the case, giving it a vibrant look.

A few months ago, names of the company’s upcoming earphones were exposed, including iQOO TWS, iQOO TWS Pro, iQOO TWS Neo, and iQOO TWS Air. While the Air-named model is getting launched in the coming days, the other models are yet to go official.

Currently, nothing is known about the upcoming true wireless earbuds from iQOO in terms of features and specifications. But we won’t have to wait long to know more about the earphones, including pricing and availability details as the launch event is scheduled to take place in a couple of days in China.

Along with the iQOO TWS Air, the company will also be launching the iQOO Neo7, which will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Plus SoC along with an independent chip for the display. Last week, Nubia’s Red Magic started taking pre-orders for its first gaming monitor in its home market China, dubbed Red Magic 4K Gaming Monitor. Today, the product is officially available for purchase in the Chinese market.

The Red Magic 27-inch 4K Gaming Monitor is priced at 4,999 yuan (~$694) for the 4K model instead of the original price of 5,499 yuan, while the 4K Wireless Projection model is priced at 6,499 yuan (~$903).

Coming to the specifications, the Red Magic 4K Gaming Monitor features a 27-inch Mini-LED AUO 7.0 second-generation display panel with 2,304 lamp beads and 1152 independent partitions along with a 99% DC-P3 color gamut, 99% Adobe RGB color gamut, and color accuracy Delta E less than 1.

It has a 1ms response time and supports AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync. The 4K Wireless Projection version is also claimed to be the first self-contained millimeter-wave wireless projection display, supporting lossless image quality transmission and low latency.

Google teased the upcoming Pixel Tablet at a recent event where the company launched its latest Pixel 7 series phones. Apart from the new tablet, the company also has Pixel Notepad, a foldable smartphone in the pipeline.

Now, ahead of the official launch of these two new devices, some details have been leaked online, which reveal that both of these upcoming products won’t be featuring an under-display fingerprint sensor.

According to a report from 9to5Google, an Android code used for UI testing on devices indicates a Y-aligned setup, which means that the fingerprint sensor on the device will be on the left or right side of the device.

There are two devices on which this new Android UI code testing is happening. One of the device is the Google Notepad (or Google Fold) foldable smartphone, and the other device is the Google Pixel Tablet which will be released next year.

It was recently revealed that the Pixel Notepad smartphone would feature a display panel from Samsung Display, which is already providing panels for the Pixel series phones. The Large screen on the inside will support a screen resolution of 1840×2208 and is claimed to attain a peak brightness of up to 1200nits, with an average brightness of 800nits. While not yet confirmed, it could have support for a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

The phone is expected to have a triple camera setup on the back, comprising a 64MP Sony IMX787 primary sensor, a 12MP IMX386 ultrawide lens, and a 10.8MP S5K3J1 telephoto sensor. The inner camera of the device is said to be an 8MP Sony IMX355 sensor, while the front-facing outer camera may sport an S5K3J1 sensor.

When both devices get launched sometime next year, Google will have a hardware ecosystem of its own, including the Pixel lineup of phones, tablets, TWS earbuds, and smartwatch, along with the Nest lineup of smart home products.

You can also connect your earphones via Bluetooth through the smartphone to listen to the audio.

The smart glasses come with an affordable price tag, which will further enhance their demand. The Nxtwear S comes as a pair of portable screens with a lightweight frame. It offers users a private viewing experience and movie-quality audio clarity. The pocket-sized frame is small enough to be carried easily.

The new pair of TCL smart glasses also work with iOS when used with an adapter pair for devices that use a magnetic pogo pin connector. As mentioned, the alleged Moto X40 with model number XT2301-5 was spotted on 3C certification recently. The listing revealed the handset will support 68W fast charging. Just like the previous year’s model, the X40 could launch in the global market as Moto Edge 40 Pro.

Motorola is yet to confirm the existence of the Moto X40, so it’s better you digest the above information with a pinch of salt. We should learn more about the device in the coming days.

Samsung‘s unannounced budget smartphones – the Galaxy M04 and Galaxy A04e have been spotted on the Bluetooth SIG certification website. Bluetooth SIG listing is among the few penultimate tasks before a product is launched, hence the products will soon hit the market. This information comes a few weeks after Samsung launched the Galaxy A04 and Galaxy A04s.

The Galaxy A04e is an entry-level smartphone and it is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G35 chipset. It was spotted with 3GB of RAM on Geekbench but there could be higher RAM options. The Galaxy A04e will run on Android 12 out of the box. It is also speculated that the Galaxy M04 is a rebranded Galaxy A04e. As per the Bluetooth SIG certification listing, both models will support Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The publication date for both models on the Bluetooth SIG website was October 14, 2022. There are four model numbers for the A04e and a single option for the M04. The model numbers for the Galaxy A04e are SM-A042F, SM-042F_DS, SM-A042M, and SM-A042M_DS. The Galaxy M04 model number is SM-M045F_DS.

The Galaxy A04e has also been spotted on the NBTC and Indonesia Telecom websites. These multiple listings of the device point to an imminent launch of the Samsung Galaxy A04e and Galaxy M04 smartphones. Samsung is yet to, however, release any launch details and pricing information for the two products. We expect the full specs and other details of the Galaxy M04 and Galaxy A04e to surface as their launch date draws closer.

Sony unveils “the world’s smallest” WUXGA 3LCD laser projectors

Japanese electronics giant Sony Corporation has announced two new ultra-compact laser projectors. The VPL-PHZ61 and VPL-PHZ51 are reputed to be the world’s smallest WUXGA 3LCD laser projectors, combining superior operational capabilities with high brightness and flexible installation, making them a trustworthy solution for a wide range of corporate, education, museum, entertainment, and simulation applications.

The VPL-PHZ61 and VPL-PHZ51 are compact and easy to install on ceilings in meeting rooms and schools, with the widest vertical shift among fixed lens versions at +55%. Both versions have exceptionally high brightness – the VPL-PHZ61 at 6,400 lumens (7,000-lumen center) and the VPL-PHZ51 at 5,300 lumens (5,800-lumen center). The lumen can guarantee the projection of crystal-clear images, even in a well-lit meeting room or lecture hall, to improve user collaboration and communication.

The projectors create crisp and clear images thanks to Sony’s Reality Creation real-time signal processing, mapping, and analysis technology, allowing for successful presentation and display. Both new models accept 4K60P input, making them compatible with 4K video sources. Sony’s Reality Creation is also capable of improving the overall sharpness, resolution, and quality of the visual, whether it’s photographs, graphs, or text.

Furthermore, when used with other 4K devices, the projectors do not require a converter to simultaneously project 4K content and support HDMI’s “Deep Color” and HDCP2.3. Reality Text, a feature of both projectors, improves text-based presentation materials by displaying crisper letters and lines with improved legibility.

The projectors also have innovative Intelligent Settings, which optimize performance based on the usage scenario. Colors retain their contrast and vibrancy even in brightly lit spaces thanks to the integration of tailored Bright View capability. The new Ambiance function uses an ambient light sensor to automatically detect the brightness of the environment and calibrates the Bright View, color gain, and Reality Creation settings accordingly. Furthermore, the new models employ a novel filter material that eliminates the need for filter cleaning in meeting rooms and classrooms.

Sony has yet to reveal the pricing and availability details of both projectors.

Google Pixel 7, 7 Pro become the first Android phones to support only 64-bit apps

Apple stopped the support of 32-bit apps back in 2017. Now, it seems things are changing on the Android side too. The newly launched Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro appear to be the first set of Android phones that only support 64-bit apps.

Mishaal Rahman revealed on Twitter that the Google Pixel 7 series might be the first 64-bit-only Android smartphone. In addition, several users reported that their new Pixel phones were unable to sideload certain apps, likely the 32-bit ones. However, the new Pixels are not running on a 64-bit-only version of Android. If users try to install 32-bit apps, Google blocks them by displaying the message “app not installed as the app isn’t compatible with your phone”.

This change will not impact your experience because, over the past decade, Google has spent a significant amount of time building up support for 64-bit in Android. The Google Play Store has required all apps to have 64-bit support since August 2019, and it also stopped serving 32-bit apps without 64-bit support.

You won’t easily find a 32-bit app these days. We can think of just one 32-bit-only app: Flappy Bird, which was a fad for a short period of time. What are the benefits of 64-bit apps? Well, nothing noticeable on the users’ end. However, 64-bit apps are more secure, offer better performance, and reduce processing costs.

In related news, the upcoming Pixel tablet is reported to debut with a 64-bit-only version of Android 13. Google has not confirmed it yet, but if the tablet actually ships with a 64-bit-only architecture, it will be among the first Android devices to do so.
