At the end of June, China Mobile launched a budget 5G smartphone dubbed as NZONE S7 Pro 5G. For those unaware, this device is developed by Huawei for the Chinese carrier. According to a reliable tipster, the mobile network provider will be launching yet another model in the lineup next month.
NZONE S7 Pro 5G
As per 菊厂影业Fans, China’s largest carrier China Mobile will release a new NZONE S series smartphone in December. This handset is said to arrive with an improved set of specifications. Unfortunately, that’s all the tipster has to say.
We can expect this upcoming phone to be better than the NZONE S7 Pro from earlier this year. In case you do not know, S7 Pro sports an FHD+ 90Hz LCD panel with a punch-hole. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 720 chipset paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage.
It has a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide unit, and a 2MP macro shooter. On the front, it houses a 16MP snapper for selfies and video calls.
Since its a budget model, it features a 3.5mm headphone jack, in addition to a USB Type-C port. The remaining features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 4,000mAh battery, and 40W fast charging.
Windows 11, as with every other major new release, has also brought along a couple of bugs. One of them results in app crash issues while the other can even cause BSODs. Both were originally discovered in the November 2021 Patch and even affect the latest versions of Windows 10.
The app crashes have been found to be linked to Microsoft Installer (MSI) failures, according to Microsoft’s known issues page (via Windows Latest). The findings suggest that apps that are known to be affected include those from Kaspersky, along with some other apps. The crashes are only experienced when you apply an update to the affected app or try to repair it using Windows Settings or Troubleshooter.
Thankfully, a fix for the app crash issues is being rolled out to testers in the beta and preview channels as part of Windows 11 Build 22000.348 (KB5007262). The release notes say that the patch contains a fix for an issue that might prevent apps from opening after users update or repair them using the Microsoft Installer (MSI). It will be rolled out for stable users soon as well.
Microsoft had previously stated that they’re working on a fix and users are recommended to reinstall their apps if the apps are crashing in the meantime.
The update also includes fixes for the broken Appx PowerShell cmdlet functionality that affected PowerShell 7.1 and later. There’s also a fix for the “bad image” error that popped up during startup.
Moreover, Microsoft has fixed the issue that crashed searchindexer.exe or caused high memory usage in remote desktop environments. Lastly, a fix has been implemented for the bug that caused devices to stop responding when they return from sleep or hibernation.
Apple has just announced that it will be offering iPhone 12 series customers a free service. Apparently, some iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models are suffering from an issue that affects the speakers, so the company will be offering a free repairs.
According to a recent service bulletin (Via PhoneArena), a “very small percentage” of the 2020 iPhone models are suffering are facing this audio related issue. As per the official notes, “If your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro does not emit sound from the receiver when you make or receive calls, it may be eligible for service. Apple or an Apple authorized Service Provider will service eligible devices, free of charge.”
As of right now, this issue is known to only affect the base iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro variants, and not the iPhone 12 mini and the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Furthermore, the Cupertino based giant had stated that users affected by this issue will be offered three options, although, devices will first be examined prior to the repairs to ensure that they qualify for the free repair program. These options are finding an Authorized Apple Service Provider or making a service appointment at the company’s official store.
Lastly, users can also directly contact the Apple’s support team to arrange for the iPhone to be mailed to the brand. Notably, all three options will also ask you to type in your Apple ID as well and the company has even asked users to “Get your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch ready for service.” So one would have to back up your iPhone on your computer or with iCloud before the shipping it away to get repaired.
Earlier this month, we had reported on BBK Electronics owned smartphone brands OnePlus, OPPO, vivo applying for trademark for autonomous and electric vehicles in India. Now, new information has just surfaced which suggests that OPPO is currently working on an electric vehicle that might launch in the region sometime by early 2024.
OnePlus Warp Car
According to a 91Mobilesreport, tipster Mukul Sharma claimed that the Chinese tech giant is is working on electric vehicles for the Indian market. So, its in line with the trademark application. Notably, these EVs, which could include autonomous vehicles and electric scooters, are likely in the planning process as of right now. The tipster further added that these electric vehicles might be launching by the end of 2023 or even early 2024.
While the report has revealed a possible launch time frame for the EVs, the tipster did not reveal any finer details like technical or hardware specifications. Keep in mind that this is still an unconfirmed report so take it with a pinch of salt for now. But if the reports are true, we can expect the company to release teasers for the EVs in the arriving months. With the EV market booming, automobile makers are also eyeing to expand their presence in various Asian markets.
Previously, Tesla had announced its plans to launch its EVs in India as well, so it doesn’t arrive as a surprise that tech giants (that have recently been investing in the automobile segment) are also aiming to compete in the market. Furthermore,
OnePlus is reportedly working on the launch of the OnePlus 10 Pro. A recent leak claimed that the smartphone will break cover in China in January or February. The global launch of the device is likely to be held in March or April. A fresh leak by Digital Chat Station suggests that the OnePlus 10 Pro zoom capabilities may not be different from the predecessor model.
The OnePlus 9 Pro’s quad-camera unit includes a 48-megapixel main camera with OIS, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with OIS, 3.3x optical zoom, and 30x digital zoom, and a 2-megapixel monochrome lens.
OnePlus 10 Pro CAD renders by Zouton / Steve Hemmerstoffer
The CAD renders of the OnePlus 10 Pro that emerged in the previous week revealed that it will be equipped with a triple camera unit. According to the tipster, the OnePlus 10 Pro’s camera setup will include an ordinary telephoto camera that offers 3.3x optical zoom and 30x digital zoom. hence, there is a possibility that it may retain the same telephoto lens that was made available on the predecessor model.
Nothing else is known on the specs of the OnePlus 10 Pro. Considering that it will be a flagship device, it is likely to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. It could be coupled with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage. It will run on Android 12, which will be overlaid with a new UI that will offer a customized experience of OxygenOS and ColorOS.
The frontside of the phone will feature a punch-hole display. It may feature the same 6.7-inch QHD+ 120Hz display that was seen on the OnePlus 9 Pro. It may house a 5,000mAh battery, which may support 65W or 125W charging. The rear camera module will extend to the frame of the device as seen on the Galaxy S21 lineup.
Next-generation flagship phones equipped with the upcoming Snapdragon 898 (Snapdragon 8 Gen1) processor may come with a battery capacity starting with 4,500mAh and have at least 65W flash charging as standard.
The info comes from reliable leakster Digital Chat Station through a post on Weibo. A similar post on the platform had also revealed earlier that Qualcomm will be ditching its typical Snapdragon xxx moniker for the upcoming flagship chip in favor of ‘Snapdragon 8 Gen1’. MediaTek has already pulled something similar, renaming its Dimensity 2000 chip to Dimensity 9000.
Chinese phones, particularly those from BBK Electronics subsidiaries (OPPO, realme, OnePlus), have already started arriving with 65W charging support even in the mid-range, so it doesn’t really come as a surprise. And on top of that, companies like OPPO and Xiaomi have even begun working on tech to cross the 125W mark.
And as for 4,500mAh batteries, it comes as a necessity really, given the power-hungry processors and displays that have grown larger and smoother than ever. 120Hz displays have already become standardized in flagship phones and are known to consume much more power than 60Hz, hence the push for larger batteries.
Coming to the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 itself, or whatever you want to call it ahead of its launch, it is said to offer a 20 percent performance improvement over its predecessor. It will be featuring a prime ARM Cortex-X2 CPU core running at 3.0GHz, three Cortex-A710 based mid-cores clocked at 2.5GHz and four efficient Cortex-A510 derived cores running at 1.79GHz. Samsung’s 4nm process will be used in manufacturing it.
Xiaomi subsidiary, Redmi India, has just announced that it has partnered up with Reliance Jio to conduct 5G trails for the upcoming Note 11T 5G smartphone. The company is testing the capabilities and performance of its 5G enabled handset in the Indian market.
As per the announcement, the test would have both brands conduct a 5G standalone lab trial, which would have the Note 11T 5G go though various scenarios to ensure it offers users an “enhanced” 5G experience. For those unaware, the upcoming Note 11T 5G is the company’s latest offering in the Indian market that will arrive with support for 7 bands including SA (n1/ n3/ n5/n8/ n28/ n40/ n78) and NSA (n1/n3/n40/n78).
Muralikrishnan B, COO, Xiaomi India added that “We are delighted to partner with Reliance Jio for the Note 11T 5G in our endeavor of democratizing technology by making it easier for customers to get access to 5G smartphones that are future ready. Our latest trial with Reliance Jio is an indication of the development of the 5G ecosystem in India and the encouraging outcome highlights the true potential of the device and brings a high-quality 5G experience closer to reality.”
For those unaware, plans for the 5G auction in India has been delayed for another six months. This arrives as brands like Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea to get an extension for their trials. Talking about the device itself, Note 11T 5G will sport a MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC, which is an octa core processor that clocks at 2.4GHz and is based on the 6nm process. It sports a 6.6 inch FHD+ panel with 2400×1080 resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz touch sampling rate. Notably, it also the one of the first Note series device to have access to 7 bands, and will launch in the country on 30th November 2021.
Huawei has started selling certified refurbished premium smartphones on its official online store in China. Hence, interested customers can now buy high-end HUAWEI devices at reduced price tags. The company has currently listed 8 models for sale.
As Huawei’s smartphone business is in trouble, the company is doing everything it can do to stay alive. Recently, it has even begun to license its hardware designs to other brands.
Now, it has also kicked off selling certified refurbished handsets. This could be mostly because of the firm’s inability to mass manufacture new phones as it used to once.
According to the official announcement post on Weibo, these refurbished handsets include 100% original components, including new batteries. They also ship with HarmonyOS 2 update.
Further, these devices undergo strict ‘Huawei quality’ inspections. They also come with a 1-year warranty. Hence, Huawei advertises them as value for money.
At the end of the day, refurbished phones do have some issues. For instance, ITHomesays that some of the units may have minor scratches, bents, and other small damages, which are negligible for most customers, given the lower asking price than usual.
The following refurbished models are available for purchase on Vmall.
HUAWEI Mate30 RS PORSCHE DESIGN – Starts from ¥9,699 ($1,520)
HUAWEI Mate20 RS PORSCHE DESIGN – Starts from ¥4,799 ($752)

The certified refurbished HUAWEI smartphones are provided by the company’s partner Shenzhen Huihuibao Technology Co., Ltd.
Monday is usually the favorite time for Chinese smartphone OEMs to drop teasers for their upcoming stuff, and we saw a few from companies like OPPO and Honor. However, realme’s teaser stood out the most given its irregular theme.
realme dropped a new poster this morning stating that the “most significant crossover in the history of science and technology” will be announced tomorrow morning.
It’s unclear what realme means by this, which is exactly what that’s got us scratching our heads. Tipsters seem to be quite clueless too. Still, the “realme x _____” tagline on the poster points towards some kind of collaboration with another brand. IT Home further says that the product released as part of the collab may not be a part of realme’s regular product line.
realme recently hit its phone sales target of 10 million units for 2021 in China, that too ahead of schedule, and as a result seems to be focusing on other products now.
Xu Qi, VP of realme China earlier said through a post on Weibo that high-res punch-hole displays will become mainstream in 2022, with new tech such as foldable and under-display growing more mature. While this does imply realme launching their own foldable device next year, it is unclear if today’s crossover poster is for the same.
Regardless, the suspense will be over tomorrow when the company drops some more details, so stay tuned.
Pakistan’s media regulator, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), has yet again lifted a ban imposed on TikTok after around four months. The move comes after the short video-sharing social media platform assured that it would control indecent content on the platform.
For those who are unaware, this is the fourth time in the past 15 months that Pakistan Telecommunication Authority imposed and lifted such a ban on TikTok. The platform was first blocked in October last year over what the regulator described as widespread complaints about allegedly “immoral, obscene, and vulgar” content on the app.
A statement issued by PTA said: “Subsequent to imposition of ban on 20 July 2021, PTA remained in communications with the TikTok management. As a result of continuous engagement, senior management of the platform assured PTA of its commitment to take necessary measures to control unlawful content in accordance with local laws and societal norms.”
Earlier this month, China-based TikTok and the PTA officials held a detailed discussion regarding content moderation on the social networking application in line with the local laws and societal norms.
In the meeting, the company highlighted initiatives, future strategies, and investments in the local market for ensuring safe, productive, informative, and legitimate content for Pakistani users. The app has been downloaded almost 39 million times in Pakistan.
TikTok has been banned in India since June last year along with a host of Chinese applications by the government. The app, which had about 200 million users at the time it was banned in India, is hoping to re-enter the Indian market.
Despite facing a ban in India and going thorugh a legal battle in the United States, ByteDance-owned TikTok became the highest-grossing application globally in the year 2020 with $540 million in profit.

In August, iQOO launched the iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro flagship phones in China. Since then, several reports have claimed that iQOO will be launching the iQOO 8 series in India in the succeeding month. It was speculated that these devices will launch as iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Legend. Tipster Debayan Roy, who had previously speculated on the India launch of the iQOO 8 series has now claimed that these phones may not launch in India.
At present, the iQOO 8 series of smartphones are only available in China. Reports from October claimed that the iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Legend will launch around early November in India. Moreover, the Indian variant of the iQOO 8 series have been previously spotted at Geekbench, Google Play Console, and even at the BIS certification site.
While these listings hinted at the India launch of the iQOO 8 lineup, the company haven’t yet released a single teaser in India. If the company still has any plans to launch the iQOO 8 series in the country, it may soon release some teasers in the coming days.
iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro
The China wing of the brand is now reportedly working on the iQOO 9 lineup. This year, the company announced the iQOO 7 and iQOO 7 Pro in January. Hence, it is likely that these models will be replaced by the iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro in January 2022.
The iQOO 9 Pro could be equipped with the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chip. There is no word on the processor of the iQOO 9.
A few months ago, Ola Electric launched its electric two-wheeler scooters on the Indian market — Ola S1 and S1 Pro. At that time, the company had said that the deliveries will begin in October but that wasn’t the case.
The first batch of deliveries were scheduled for November 30 but the company has now decided to delay electric scooters to between December 15 to the end of the month, a two- to four-week delay from its earlier schedule.
The company has said that the delay is happening because of the shortage of chips and electronic parts. It is being reported that the company has stopped taking any new bookings until the chip shortage has eased.
In an email to customers, Ola Electic said: “Due to the ongoing global shortage of chipsets and electronic parts, there are some unavoidable delays to your Ola S1 delivery. We apologize for this delay and assure you that we are ramping up production as fast as we can so you can get your Ola S1 at the earliest.”
The company has claimed that the Ola S1 can offer a range of 121 kilometers while the Pro model’s range is rated at 181 kilometers. This is higher than other electric two-wheelers currently available in India. Ola will provide a portable 750W charger and is also setting up its ‘Hypercharger’ network across the country, allowing users to regain about 75 kilometers of range in just 15 minutes.
The Ola S1 has a starting price of ₹99,999 (~$1,348) while the pricing of the upgraded Ola S1 Pro starts at ₹1,29,999 (~$1,753). The bookings started on September 15 and the company announced it had done sales worth ₹600 crores on the first day, reaching ₹1,100 crores on the second day.
Honor took to its Weibo handle today to reveal the Honor 60 series launch date. The company will be unleashing the Honor 60 lineup at 7:30 PM (local time) on Dec. 1 in China.
The video teaser released by the brand shows that the Honor 60 series’ color scheme will have starry sky elements. A previously seen promo image revealed that the Honor 60 will feature dual camera rings like the Honor 50 lineup.
The Honor 50 series, which debuted in June in China, included three models such as the Honor 50, Honor 50 Pro, and Honor 50 SE. Rumors have it that these models will be succeeded by the Honor 60, Honor 60 Pro, and Honor 60 SE. The Chinese manufacturer is yet to share the specs of these phones. It appears that the Honor 60 trio will rival the OPPO Reno7, Reno7 Pro, and Reno7 SE that are scheduled to go official on Nov. 25.
Not much is known about the specs of the Honor 60 models. The vanilla and Pro models are likely to carry support for 66W fast charging, whereas the SE variant may come with 40W charging. Several Honor phones with model numbers such as GIA-AN00, ELZ-AN00, TNA-AN00, ANY-AN00, and LSA-AN00 have been spotted at 3C. It is likely that two of these devices may debut in the Chinese market as the Honor 60 and Honor 60 Pro.
To recollect, the Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro were driven by the Snapdragon 778G SoC. The Dimensity 900 chip powered the Honor 50 SE. It is likely that the company may offer improved chipsets on the Honor 60, 60 Pro, and 60 SE.
Last week, we reported on the alleged model numbers of the Xiaomi 12 and the Redmi K50 series of phones. A few days from that, more details about two of those devices have emerged. Let’s take a look at what these handsets have to offer.
Xiaomiui has spilled beans on two upcoming Xiaomi smartphones, codenamed Matisse and Rubens. These devices bear shortened model numbers L10 and L11A respectively. Information about the duo has been found in the MIUI code and the IMEI database.
Xiaomi Matisse (L10)
Xiaomi Matisse will have three regional variants, namely China, Global, and India. This is based on its model numbers 21121210C, 21121210G, and 21121210I registered in the IMEI database.
In China, it will be sold under the Redmi brand, whereas in other markets, it will flaunt POCO branding. As the first four digits of the model numbers of Xioami devices indicate their release year and month, this phone could make its debut in December 2012.
However, Xiaomiui suggests that Xiaomi may not be able to release it in time as the handset’s software is still in development.
Redmi K40 Gaming Edition
As far as specs are concerned, the smartphone is said to be powered by the recently unveiled MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. It is expected to have either a 120Hz or a 144Hz OLED display with a mixture of Goodix and FPC in-screen fingerprint sensors.
For photography and videography, it will house quad cameras on the rear. The setup will include a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor, a 13MP OmniVision OV13B10 ultra-wide unit, an 8MP OmniVision OV08856 telemacro shooter, and a 2MP GalaxyCore GC02M1 depth sensor. There’s also a variant of this phone with a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM2 main camera.
Lastly, talking about names, the handset is expected to go official as Redmi K50 Gaming or Redmi K50 Gaming Pro in China and POCO F4 GT in other markets.
Xiaomi Rubens (L11A)
Xiaomi Rubens currently only has a ‘China’ variant with model number 22041211AC. Unsurprisingly, the smartphone will feature Redmi branding in its home country.
Xiaomiui says that this device could go official as Redmi K50 Gaming Standard Edition. That’s because the Chinese Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G, which is sold as POCO X3 GT in international markets was initially called Redmi K40 Gaming Standard Edition in its development stage.
Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G
The Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G and the Redmi K40 Gaming house chipsets from the same family, Dimensity 1100 and Dimensity 1200 to be exact. Similarly, Xiaomi Rubens is said to be powered by the unannounced Dimensity 7000 chip, which is rumored to be the toned-down version of Dimensity 9000 expected to feature inside Xiaomi Matisse.
Unfortunately, not much is known about this handset, except that it will have triple rear cameras. The setup will include a 64MP Samsung ISOCELL GW3 primary sensor.
According to its model number, the smartphone is scheduled to go official in April 2022.

A few days ago, MediaTek announced its latest flagship smartphone chipset — Dimensity 9000 which is manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm process and is set to compete against the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (aka Snapdragon 898).
However, there are reports about the Taiwan-based company working on an upper mid-range chipset — Dimensity 7000. Ahead of the official launch, some details of this new processor from MediaTek have leaked online.
As per the report from tipster Digital Chat Station, the MediaTek Dimensity 7000 supports 75W charging, placing the chipset between the Snapdragon 870 and Snapdragon 888 from its rival Qualcomm. It is expected to be based on ARM’s new V9 architecture which is also used in the Dimensity 9000 SoC.
The MediaTek Dimensity 7000 will be manufactured using TSMC’s 5nm process. This places the processor between Dimensity 1200 which is manufactured using a 6nm process and the newly announced Dimensity 9000 which is based on a 4nm process.
It is being claimed that the chipset has already entered the testing phase and if that’s true, then the official announcement of Dimensity 7000 should happen soon. But before that, we expect to get more details about this new chip through leaks as there’s still a lot of information about this upcoming processor that remains unknown.
