Earlier, we reported Android 12‘s tendency to crash games when the wallpaper is changed in the background. The bug was first reported in September on the Google Issue Tracker. Now, according to Twitter user Mishaal Rahman, this issue will be tackled in Android 12L.
"…people with automatic wallpaper switchers have found that you can actually crash a game if it happens in the background"
A fix for this is coming in Android 12L. Background wallpaper changes won't trigger theme changes.
Google‘s new UI, the Material You, introduced with Android 12, is a dynamic theming engine that extracts colors from the current wallpaper and splashes it across the system UI and supported apps, giving users greater control than ever over what their phone’s software looks like. Changing the wallpaper in Android 12 results in a configuration change forcing all app activities to restart so that they use the new colors from the wallpaper for theming purposes.
The root cause of this game crashing bug was spotted to be this forced Android configuration changes. Games typically used to ignore such changes but that isn’t the case anymore with Android 12.
This bug, which has remained unsolved for more than 2 months, will now be addressed in the Android 12L. The Android 12L is primarily meant for foldable phones, tablets, and big display devices but will fix many bugs present in Android 12. The fix will ensure that background wallpaper changes will not trigger theme changes or force app activities to restart, preventing crashes. The OS, set to go live in early 2022, will enter beta testing from December to February.
Ulefone has officially unveiled the Note 13P smartphone in the global market. The smartphone succeeds the Ulefone Note 12P which was launched a few months back. The major highlights of the phone are a 6.5-inch FHD+ display, MediaTek’s Helio SoC, and a 20MP dual-camera system.
The Ulefone Note 13P is priced at $170 for the sole 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. It comes in Starry Black and Mystery Blue colour variant. The device is up for sale on the official Ulefone website.
The smartphone comes with a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with a Full-HD+(1800 x 2400 pixels) resolution. This is an upgrade over the predecessor Note 12P’s HD+ screen. The display has thinner edges and flaunts the modern 20:9 aspect ratio.
It equips a dual-camera system at the rear with a 20MP Sony IMX350 primary lens and a 2MP macro sensor. Upfront, it has a 16MP Sony IMX481 sensor with an f/2.2 lens. The dual-SIM phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G35 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The company has offered a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 1TB.
In terms of battery, it has a 5,180mAh cell with a standard 10W charging speed. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner which also doubles up as a power button. The device has NFC support, features a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port. The handset runs on Android 11 out of the box.

Realme GT Neo2 hitten the European market a few days ago with an interesting promotion that will last for all the Black Friday period. Thanks to the promotion, its listing price becomes even more affordable than its predecessor Realme GT 5G, which is the only other flagship killer launched by Realme in Europe this year. However, the street prices of the Realme GT 5G are great too in this period. That is the reason why a lot of people are wondering whether they should go for the Realme GT Neo2 or the Realme GT while the price of the two handsets is more or less the same. In this comparison, we will analyze the differences between the two flagships.

Design
If you choose the Racing Yellow color variant of the Realme GT 5G, you will get the most attractive design. This variant is indeed built with a leather back and an aluminum frame, providing great materials and an amazing touch & feel. It is slightly thicker than the average phone, but the leather back is very good to see, especially in that yellow color option. If we only focus on the glass variant, then Realme GT Neo2 has a more interesting design due to better aesthetics for the camera module and better color options. Note that the Realme GT Neo2 is bigger than Realme GT 5G because it has a wider display.
Display
With the Realme GT Neo2 and the Realme GT 5G, you get more or less the same display quality. They come with an AMOLED display supporting the HDR10 certification, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and an under-display fingerprint reader for the authentication. They also pack stereo speakers for a great audio experience, but the Realme GT 5G is the only one with a 3.5 mm audio jack. Coming back to the displays, the real difference between these two panels is the dimensions: Realme GT 5G has 6.43 inches, while the Realme GT Neo2 comes with a wider 6.62-inch display which may be better for gamers and productivity.
Specs & Software
The hardware department is superior on the Realme GT 5G simply because this phone is powered by a stronger processor. We are talking about the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform by Qualcomm, an octa-core built at 5 nm running at a frequency of 2.84 GHz and paired with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 native storage. The Realme GT Neo2 has a less impressive Snapdragon 870, while the memory configurations are the same. Nothing changed in the software: Android 11 and Realme UI 2.0 for both handsets. They will most likely get two major Android updates in the European market.
Camera
Just like the software, even the cameras of the Realme GT 5G and the Realme GT Neo2 are exactly the same. On the rear side, there is a 64 MP main camera with an f/1.8 focal aperture, an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2 MP macro camera, while on the front there is a 16 MP selfie camera. It is an average camera setup, good for a mid-ranger but bad for a flagship. That is the main compromise of these phones and what allowed Realme to guarantee such a low price.
The main advantage of the Realme GT Neo2 over the Realme GT 5G is the battery: the former has a bigger battery capacity with 5000 mAh, while the latter stops at 4500 mAh. Both the phones support 65W fast charging, but the GT 5G obviously needs less time for a full charge because of its smaller battery.
Price
The starting listing price of the Realme GT 5G and the Realme GT Neo2 is €449/$505 for the 8/128 GB configuration. There is no definitive winner for this comparison: I personally prefer the Realme GT 5G because it has a better chipset and a leather back in the Racing Yellow color variant, but if you care more about having a longer battery life, then you should go for the Realme GT Neo2 which is still powered by a great Snapdragon 870 processor.
A Vivo smartphone carrying model number V2124 has been making rounds in the rumour mill. The device has appeared in multiple leaks and has passed a couple of certifications. The smartphone in question was nothing but the upcoming Vivo Y76 5G and it is scheduled to launch on November 23. Today, a day before its launch, the smartphone has passed Geekbench certification revealing key specs.
The Vivo V2124 has passed the Geekbench 5 listing by scoring 565 single-core points and 1748 multi-core points. These scores are possible, thanks to the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC under the hood. It is paired with 8GB of RAM and we expect it to either have 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone runs on Android 11 out of the box and is expected to have FunTouch OS on top of it.
Apart from this, previous leaks revealed that the phone may feature a 6.58-inch Full-HD+ screen. It could feature a 60Hz refresh rate and a thin-bezel design. Leaked renders showcase it to have a water-drop notch display.
Vivo Y76
The smartphone will come equipped with a triple camera system with a 50MP main, a 2MP depth, and a 2MP macro sensor. It is touted to pack a 4,100mAh battery with support for 44W FlashCharge technology. As for security, it will have a side-facing fingerprint scanner and support for face unlock. It will have a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom, and besides it, there will be a speaker grille.
As per the renders, the smartphone will go official tomorrow in two colour variants – Midnight Space and Cosmic Aurora.
Earlier this month, images of the upcoming Intel graphics card from its ARC Alchemist series were leaked, revealing the first looks of their high-end and budget offerings. And now, more leaks have emerged hinting at the performance of the budget variant.
The leaks were first revealed by Youtuber and tipster Moore’s Law is Dead, in which he revealed key details of the upcoming GPU dubbed the DG2. The GPU is said to have 128 EUs (execution units) and boosts up to speeds of 2.2-2.5 GHz. The GPU might have VRAM of up to 6GB of 16Gbps GDDR6 over a 96-bit bus. The card is also rumored to have a stock TDP of around 75W, which will significantly help Intel keep the production costs low, resulting in pricing as low as $179 while performing better than an Nvidia 1650 super.
The YouTuber further tipped that the laptop variant of this GPU might consist of 96EUs with a 64-bit interface and 2GB VRAM. According to the tipster’s sources, the launch date of these cards is predicted to be around late February 2022 for laptops, followed by the desktop launch in early to mid-Q2 2022.
If the leaks turn out to be accurate, the card will be a breath of fresh air to the budget and low-end segments. The current prices of GPUs in these segments have skyrocketed due to chip shortages, scalping, and crypto mining.

In a rare product release, Huawei has launched a new outdoor power station that is available in 500Wh and 1000Wh power ratings. The power station is a plug-and-play one and can be used to power various AC/DC devices such as rice cookers, drones, electric fans, and coffee machines.
The power station is dubbed iSitePower-M Mini and comes in 500Wh and 1000Wh ratings with the one with the lower power rating coming in at 2,450 yuan (~$384) while the 1000Wh-rated version coming in at 4,250 yuan (~$665). The device adopts a fanless design and an aluminum alloy shell for heat dissipation. This design makes the operation noiseless. It also features a compact size and is lightweight, making it easy to transport from one place to another.
As a result of its versatile product compatibility, the power station can be deployed during home emergencies, for outdoor jobs, open-air camping, to provide lighting at night, and so on. As a standard, the two models come with two 220V AC output sockets and a USB-C interface that supports PD3.0 peak 60W fast charging. The USB-C port can be used to charge digital gadgets such as notebooks and mobile phones without the need for a charging adapter.
Further, the Huawei iSitePower-M Mini 500Wh/1000Wh supports five charging methods, including mains, car, Type-C, solar, and mixed charging (car charger + solar/mains + Type-C). The 500Wh version can be fully charged in 3 hours while the 1000Wh version can be fully charged in 4.5 hours. The device comes with several safety features such as charge overvoltage protection, discharge under-voltage protection, short circuit protection, discharge overcurrent protection, charge overcurrent protection, and temperature protection. Huawei claims it has equally passed 100+ quality test verifications.
The product is presently listed on Jingdong (JD.com).
TV sets have witnessed a constraint in their demand owing to their rising retail prices, which has resulted in a YoY shipment decline despite the arrival of the festive season. As such, while there has been an 8.3% QoQ increase in sales, it is overshadowed by a 14.7% YoY decrease.
The research conducted by TrendForce further talks about how TV prices began to plummet in August, enabling Chinese TV brands to expand sales during the Singles’ Day (November 11) shopping festival, and in turn make up for deficits in their yearly sales targets.
The global market, on the other hand, will unfortunately not be able to capitalize on the price drop until 1Q22 due to factors such as production, transportation, and inventory adjustments. Such brands will also be unable to increase their TV shipments in the final quarter of 2021.
As for the total shipments of TVs in Q421, they’re expected to reach 59.13 million units, representing a 12.6% QoQ increase but a 10.3% YoY decrease. The numbers for the second of the year will likely be among the lowest in several years.
The increased demand last year was obviously due to the pandemic. But with everyday life returning to normal in Europe and North America in 2H21, the pandemic-generated upswing in TV sales has gradually lost momentum. This is paired with increased prices due to raw materials and transportation/logistics services reaching sky-high costs. All in all, the annual TV shipments for 2021 have been forecasted to be 210 million units, a 3.2% YoY decline.
But despite the drop in total sales, the sales of OLED TVs are expected to reach 6.8 million units – a 72.8% YoY increase. This is largely due to OEMs’ focus on ensuring that the production of OLED TVs remained free from disruptions. As a result, the price difference between LCD panels and OLED panels has narrowed more than ever.
Moving on to rankings in terms of OLED TVs, the top spot is held by LGE with a mammoth 60% market share. It is trailed by Sony with 20% market share and Panasonic with 7% share. On the flip side, Xiaomi and Sharp have seen explosive YoY growth this year with 900% and 140% growth rates, respectively.
Last but not least, TrendForce reports that major brands will be concentrating on the high-end and large-sized TV range next year, while smaller brands will continue to steadily develop more mainstream products.
Lately, WhatsApp has been hard at work to provide improved features and better security measures to its instant messaging platform user base. The latest of which comes in the form of ‘message-level reporting’ and ‘flash calls’.
Message level reporting
Users can now report accounts to WhatsApp by flagging a specific message with the message-level reporting feature. This can be done by long-pressing a particular message to either report or block a user. This feature saves you a few clicks when it comes to blocking a user. On the other hand, the message level report may come in handy when dealing with spam messages, targeted harassment, unsolicited messages, or messages of an illegal or criminal nature. In its latest transparency report, WhatsApp says that it banned over 2.2 million accounts in September alone.
Flash calls
The new “Flash call” enables Android users who are installing or re-installing WhatsApp on their devices to verify their phone number with an automated call instead of an SMS. WhatsApp claims that this is a much safer option, given that it takes place all from within the app.
WhatsApp has recently also released features that help enhance the user experience like vanishing messages, View once messages, and a new feature under testing that will allow you to hide your last seen from specific people in your contact list.
Previously, we also reported on WhatsApp’s ‘multiple device’ feature that removes the requirement for your smartphone to be online to use the messaging platform on other devices. You can read more about this feature here.

The Visakhapatnam Police in India has arrested Amazon workers for allegedly smuggling illegal drugs. The police have apparently recovered 48 kilograms of marijuana after a recent investigation, which follows another case of recovery of prohibited substances in Bhind, Madhya Pradesh.
According to a Gadgets360report, Police forms from Bhind had received a tip, which led to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Visakhapatnam finding two Amazon delivery workers with marijuana. Furthermore, the authorities even recovered Amazon’s packaging material that was reportedly used to illegally smuggle the drugs. Notably, the recent arrives just after the Bhind Police charging executives of the e-commerce giant under narcotics laws as the marijuana was smuggled through the online e-retail platform.
Just last week, the Visakhapatnam Police had arrested Amazon associate in the city along with two delivery workers. The police had found the accused in possession of the drug along with an electronic weighing machine as well. These workers were carrying two gunny bags that were filled with 24 kilograms of Marijuana each, as per the FIR (first information report). Interestingly, Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has demanded that the government suspend Amazon’s operations in the country and to arrest its officials for allowing the trade of illegal substances.
CAIT National President BC Bhartia and Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal even went as far as to call Amazon a “Ganja company” (‘Ganja’ being the Hindi name for Marijuana). It remains to be seen how the tech giant responds to all of these statements and what actions it takes to rectify the situation, so stay tuned for more updates.
Xiaomi is expected to announce MIUI 13 by the end of 2021. However, the company is yet to update some of its devices to the current latest version of its software – MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition. Some handsets haven’t received MIUI 12.5 either. Two such smartphones, namely Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max have begun to get these versions of MIUI respectively in India.
Redmi Note 9 Pro
The Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max are receiving a new system update in India. The former gets access to the latest MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition, while the latter is being updated to almost a year old MIUI 12.5 though it is an expensive model.
The fresh software updates for these phones arrive with the following build numbers in India.
Redmi Note 9 Pro
MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition – V12.5.2.0.RJWINXM
Redmi Note 9 Pro Max
MIUI 12.5 – V12.5.3.0.RJXINXM
Both the MIUI builds listed above are in the Stable Beta phase. In simpler words, they are being rolled out in batches. Therefore, some users might receive them earlier, while others may have to wait a bit longer.
At the end of the day, every user of Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max should receive the latest system update.
Budget phone Moto G31 from Motorola was launched in the global market just a few days back along with Moto G200, Moto G71, Moto G51, and Moto G41. The phone is now set to make its debut in India as well and the brand is expected to start dropping teasers for the same soon. The expected release date is set for this month itself, although if there’s any delay, the date can be pushed a month further.
91mobiles reports that while not totally sure, the price of the Moto G31 in India is expected to be around Rs. 15,000. This is quite reasonable though considering the device has been launched in Europe for EUR 200, which is approximately Rs. 16,700.
As for the specifications of the phone, the Moto G31 is powered by the octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 4G processor, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. It is the most affordable offering from the G-series quintuple and boots into stock-ish Android 11 out-of-the-box.
The display is a 6.4-inch AMOLED panel with a 411ppi pixel density. For photography, you get a triple rear camera setup: 48MP + 8MP + 2MP. Upfront, there’s a 13MP selfie snapper. The device has an IPX2 rating for dust and water resistance. Its battery capacity stands at 5000mAh with 10W charging support.
The phone was earlier confirmed to sell in regions like Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East, but India has gotten added to the roster as well now.
Apart from just offering various mobile computing products like smartphones, tablets, laptops, and more, Samsung even sells many electronic peripherals and accessories as well. Now, the company is apparently working on a new charger that can fast charge all of these products.
The charger in question is the EP-T6530, which the South Korean tech giant might call the Power Adapter Trio (Via SamMobile). As the name suggests, its a charging adapter that offers you a way to charge all of your devices together so one wouldn’t have to carry around multiple adapters. In other words, it would be especially useful for those that are traveling and are on the go.
As of right now, the charger is already available for sale on a few European website, although, the company has yet to officially announce this product. So, it is unknown whether the maximum power output would be 65W or 105W as the adapter contains three ports (1x 65W USB Type-C , 1x 25W USB Type-C, and 1x 15W USB Type-A). The European website listings even reveal its 56 Euro price tag (roughly 63 US Dollars).
If these specifications are true, you can expect to fast charge anything between your Galaxy Book, Galaxy S21, or even the Galaxy Z Flip3. However, the product has yet to be launched officially, so take this report with a pinch of salt for now and stay tuned for more updates.
The OPPO Reno7 series has been officially confirmed to launch in China on November 25. Multiple rumors and leaks have been doing rounds about the same for weeks, but we now have complete specifications of the Reno7 SE at hand.
91mobiles has managed to gather the complete expected spec-sheet of the upcoming device, courtesy of industry sources.
The OPPO Reno7 SE will sport a 6.43-inch FHD+ Samsung AMOLED display with a 90.8% screen-to-body ratio, 95% DCI-P3 color gamut, 1200000:1 contrast ratio, and a refresh rate of 90Hz. For protection, there’s Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5. The display houses a 16MP Sony IMX471 selfie snapper and also packs an in-screen fingerprint sensor underneath.
At the back, there’s a triple camera array housed within a rectangular module. The primary sensor is a Sony IMX581 with 48MP resolution (f/1.7 aperture), supporting OIS, 20x digital zoom, and 4K video recording. It is complemented by a 2MP macro-sensor and a 2MP monochrome lens.
The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset, paired with Mali-G68 MC4 GPU for graphics. It comes in two configurations: 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB internal storage. A 4390mAh battery handles the energy needs and can be filled up quickly thanks to 33W fast charging support.
The OPPO Reno7 SE measures 160.2×73.2×7.45mm and weighs 171 grams. There’s an IPx4 rating for protection against the elements along with a VC soaking plate + graphite sheet for heat dissipation. Its connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and USB Type-C port.
As for the launch, the OPPO Reno7 SE will reportedly be going live on December 17, after the Reno7 and Reno7 Pro. It will be available in Blue, Black, and Gold color options. The price is expected to be around 2,699 Yuan (~$422) for the 8GB+128GB model and RMB 2,999 (~$470) for the 12GB+256GB variant. A global launch will be following not long after a Chinese release.
Smartphone brands have been venturing into the smart TV category for the past few years. OPPO is one of the giants to enter the idiot box segment last October. It has been more than a year, however, the company’s televisions remain exclusive to China. As per new information, this might change soon.
OPPO Smart TV K9 Series
According to a report by 91Mobiles, OPPO TV will launch in India in Q2 2022. This piece of information comes from tech influencer Mukul Sharma (@stufflistings).
Unfortunately, the source does not reveal anything about this television, except for the rough release timeline. Hence, it’s not known whether the firm will bring its existing model or launch something new altogether.
We think that there’s a high chance for the latter than the former. Because almost all smartphone brands assemble their TVs locally in India. Since OPPO’s sister brands OnePlus and realme follow this, it will most likely do the same.
In that case, the OPPO TVs launching in India will be different from the models sold in China, just like Xiaomi televisions. But at least, Xiaomi has brought its self-developed content aggregation service called PatchWall outside mainland China with tweaks catering to Indian customers. We are not sure about the same for OPPO.
Having said that, we can expect OPPO TV models to run Android TV in India like most smart televisions in the country. As far as other features are concerned, we will have to wait till more details emerge in the form of leaks, certifications, and teasers.
Sony might soon be offering a new peripheral for its PlayStation 5 that lets you customize the popular gaming console. The company had recently filed various patents for the PS5’s hardware and software, with the latest published patent describing new Face Plates.
According to GameRant, the Japanese tech giant is apparently planning on offerings users a way to customize their PlayStation 5 “officially.” We say officially as certain brands have attempted to offer their own PS5 face plate designs in the past, only to be met with a lawsuit from Sony to have these manufacturers cease operations. But now, it seems that the brand has decided to unveil its own branded face plates, as per a new patent document on the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Looking at the patent, it describes an “ornamental design for a cover for an electronic device.” Furthermore, the documents even offers images of these plates from various angles. The report claims that it might be the brand’s way of preventing other third party firms from producing custom face plates. Although, it is just as likely that Sony could be considering to launch swappable face plates.
As of right now, it is unclear if the company is actually working on these PS5 face plates or is just covering all bases. But, if they do decide to launch there for the PS5, it might see some success considering many weren’t happy with the design of the ninth generation of consoles. Interestingly, allowing users to create custom designed face plates might also be quite a quirky idea. Although, it is still too early to tell, so take it with a pinch of salt.
