The Best Burner Phones You Can Buy in 2025

Burner phones have seen a quiet resurgence in 2025. These simple mobile devices remain popular among privacy-conscious users, digital minimalists, and anyone looking for a basic secondary phone.

The idea behind a burner phone is straightforward: it should be easy to use, inexpensive, and able to handle calls and messages without pulling the user into a connected ecosystem. Some newer models add cloud-based features or 4G/5G support, but the best ones remain stripped-down and purpose-built.

Here is a look at the top burner phones available in 2025.

1. HMD 102 4G

The design features large buttons and a sturdy plastic build.

The 101 4G weighs slightly less than the 102 and comes with the same IP52 splash resistance. This phone is aimed squarely at users who want a no-frills, no-camera, no-notifications burner for calls and text only. It’s an ideal second phone or travel companion when staying disconnected is the priority.

Samsung’s Galaxy XR headset leaks in full with renders and key specs

Samsung’s XR headset isn’t much of a secret anymore. The company briefly teased the project during its January Unpacked event, but now, official renders and new details have surfaced thanks to a report from AndroidHeadlines.

Internally known as Project Moohan, the device will reportedly launch as the Samsung Galaxy XR headset. From the looks of it, Samsung is taking clear design cues from Apple’s Vision Pro. The headset features two internal lenses, a wraparound “Light Shield” for a snug fit, and an external battery pack for power, much like the Vision Pro.

The front and back of the headset are dotted with cameras and sensors. Four sensors sit under the front glass for hand tracking, while two circular sensors near the nose cutout track the lower field of view. There’s a proximity sensor near the forehead to detect physical surroundings like walls, floors, and ceilings.

Inside, you get a pair of cameras near each lens for eye tracking. It reportedly uses infrared LEDs and AI to monitor eye movement and pupil position in real time.

Both displays are said to be 4K micro-LED panels with a density of 4,032 pixels per inch, totaling around 29 million pixels. Powering it all is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chip which has been jointly optimized by Samsung, Qualcomm, and Google for mixed reality performance.

Samsung has also built in multiple microphones that can isolate your voice from background noise and enhance others’ voices for clearer conversations. The head strap houses speakers on both sides, while the right side also includes a touchpad for navigation. A long tap on it re-centers content, and a double tap switches between VR and passthrough modes.

On top, there are two physical buttons: a “Top” button on the right that launches the main UI, and a volume rocker on the left. Air vents are located along the bottom for cooling.

Speaking of UI, the app icons are familiar to anyone who’s used a Galaxy phone, and there’s full support for the Google Play Store. Samsung will also offer controllers support in the Galaxy XR for control in 3D environment. The controllers have 6 DoF, analog stick and haptic feedback.

Finally, the headset is reportedly rated to deliver up to 2.5 hours of video playback and 2 hours of general use.

Evnia has included several gaming-centric features. The on-screen display offers multiple presets for FPS, RTS, and racing games, along with two customisable gamer profiles.

Philips also ships the Evnia Precision Centre software that allows players to tweak performance settings and create personalised profiles through a PC interface.

Dangbei has officially launched the Smart 2 portable projector in China. The device is priced at 1,799 yuan ($252), while a variant bundled with the Atmosphere Set is available for 1,879 yuan ($264).

Dangbei Smart 2

Dangbei Smart 2 Specifications

Dangbei claims the projector is about the size of a milk tea cup, making it suitable for travel, camping, or casual use at home. The integrated U-shaped gimbal allows 240-degree tilt adjustment, enabling flexible projection on walls, ceilings, or tabletops without requiring an external stand.

The projector uses DLP display technology and delivers 550 CVIA lumens of brightness. It supports native 1080p Full HD resolution with 4K decoding, covers 124% of the Rec.709 color gamut, and projects 60-100-inch images at a 1.2:1 throw ratio while keeping noise below 28 dB.

Smartphones That Turn Heads: 5 Models with Eye-Catching Design

In a world where many modern phones blur into similar designs, a few manage to break the mold. These devices stand out with a very distinct look and feel that has people turning heads. Whether it’s a razor-thin profile, striking colorway, or a daring co-branded edition, these devices are as much fashion statements as they are personal gadgets.

1. Nothing Phone (3)

Nothing Phone (3)

Nothing has established itself as the brand that is open to experiment with its product designs. While some traits might be common, the overall design language always seems to add more than just simple refinements, and the Nothing Phone (3) is a great example. Despite the Glyph LED lights being a common design element in its older flagship models, the third iteration got rid of them entirely and replaced them with the Glyph Matrix (dot matrix display) on the back.

So you get a smartphone with a transparent back and a unique secondary screen that displays both key details and have some fun gimmicks. While it isn’t a game changer by any means, the device will surely turn heads wherever you go. Even the tri-column styling of the cameras add to its distinct look.

2. Realme 15 Pro Game of Thrones Edition

Realme 15 Pro Game of Thrones Limited Edition
Realme 15 Pro Game of Thrones Limited Edition

Sometimes design is about storytelling. The Realme 15 Pro Game of Thrones Edition trades its original basic look for a bold personality adopted from an award winning franchise. With finishes, engravings, and color motifs tied into the iconic brand universe, it’s a device that directly references the series.

Realme has crafted a limited edition that immerses fans in Westeros with a back engraved with dragon claws, sigils of Targaryen, heat-reactive back turning red above 44°C, golden accents, and special UI themes. Taking things a step ahead, even the packaging is collectable too, with an Iron Throne, themed accessories, and more.

3. Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge

Galaxy S25 Edge
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge

Samsung is a major brand that doesn’t need to take big risks to be successful. However, the Galaxy S25 Edge pushes the boundary of a true thin and light flagship device. At a glance, you might miss its appeal. But once you actually hold the device or see it properly at an angle, that’s where it truly seems cutting edge.

It is one of the slimmest phones out there, measuring just 5.8mm thick and weighing around 163 grams. Only when you hold the device yourself do you realize how comfortable it is to use, even with its tall display. There are some trade offs as the Galaxy S25 Edge has a tiny battery compared to the average smartphone, but few phones have that kind of silhouette.

Please Note: When you buy something using the links in our articles, we may earn a small commission at no cost to you.

4. Apple iPhone Air

iPhone Air
Apple iPhone Air

Apple’s iPhone Air is another feat in engineering, like the Galaxy S25 Edge. Apple is known for playing it safe and making incremental changes to its iPhones. The company does make a few bold changes every few years, but this would mark a massive design overhaul to any iPhone in a really long time.

It is the thinnest iPhone to date, built with a tough titanium frame. Measuring just 5.64mm thin and weighing about 165 grams, this is another smartphone that packs flagship grade specs in an impressively portable body. In comparison, Apple’s flagship iPhone 17 Pro Max measures about 233 grams. Once again, battery size is a big limitation, but the device is definitely a conversation starter.

Please Note: When you buy something using the links in our articles, we may earn a small commission at no cost to you.

5. Xiaomi 17 Pro Max

Xiaomi 17 Pro Max

Xiaomi leads the next generation of flagship Android smartphones with the Xiaomi 17 series. The entire lineup got the latest generation Snapdragon chips, powerful cameras, and much more. But the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max easily stole the show. With a small secondary display on the back, the Chinese tech giant is bringing back the dual display design on its flagship phones.

So this isn’t new, but it is the only one of its kind, especially since it is not a foldable phone. Just like before, the rear display has all the usual functions, like a camera viewfinder and notifications. But it offers a lot more versatility this time around. You can have interactive pets, animated videos powered by AI, and even play games on it by slapping a retro handheld console case. So you can expect to turn quite a few heads with this one.

OxygenOS 16 Open Beta Now Available for OnePlus 13, 12, 13s, 13R, 12R, and OnePlus Open

OnePlus has started the Open Beta Test for OxygenOS 16, giving users in India early access to the next version of its operating system. The beta program is now live for the OnePlus 13, 13s,13R, 12, 12R, and OnePlus Open. This is the final testing stage before the public release on October 16.

OxygenOS 16 Open Beta

The OxygenOS 16 Open Beta allows users to try new features, test performance, and share feedback directly with OnePlus. The company says this version focuses on improving speed, design, and overall smoothness. However, as this is an early beta build, some features may not work fully and a few bugs or stability issues are expected.

The program is currently limited to India. Users in other countries will have to wait for future updates from OnePlus.

The application window is open from October 9 to October 13. Users who wish to join can apply through their phone settings. To be eligible, the device must be updated to a specific firmware version. Once approved, the beta update will be available over the air.

How to apply

Go to Settings > About device > Up to date, tap the menu icon in the top-right corner, select Beta program, and follow the instructions. After approval, go back to Settings > About device and tap Download Now to install the update.

Required Build Versions

The update should not erase user data, but OnePlus still recommends backing up important files. Users should make sure the phone has at least 30 percent battery and 4 GB of free storage before starting the installation. Some third-party apps might not work properly until they receive updates. Temporary issues such as heating, lag, or faster battery drain may occur while the system stabilizes.

Moto Edge 70 Leaked: Thin Frame, Strong Battery, Charging That Outclasses iPhone Air & S25 Edge

After Apple, Samsung, and a few others, Motorola is the next global brand working on a razor thin smartphone. While the company has already teased this device, an early retailer listing has accidentally revealed everything we need to know about this sleek new phone. So here’s what we know.

Moto Edge 70: What Does it Offer?

Moto Edge 70
Moto Edge 70

The company just confirmed that the Moto Edge 70 will make its official debut on 5th November 2025. Now, a listing on X-Com has revealed almost everything we need to know about this upcoming super slim phone. The Edge 70 will sport a 6.67-inch pOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It measures just 6mm thick and weighs around 170 grams. While this isn’t as thin and light as the iPhone Air and Galaxy S25 Edge, the Edge 70 makes up for this in other regards.

Despite its thin build, the Edge 70 packs a sizeable 4,800mAh battery pack that supports 68W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging. So the slight trade off in thickness and weight seems worthwhile. It is apparently equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, which will be paired with one variant with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The rear features a dual 50MP camera setup with OIS support, while the front houses a 50MP selfie shooter.

Motorola Edge 70

Motorola’s new thin phone can be seen in multiple color options, with one variant featuring a fabric leather finish. Other notable features include a dedicated AI button, Android 16 OS out of the box, and 2 years of warranty. Unfortunately, the listing does not mention pricing or availability at the moment, so stick around for more.

Dangbei S7 Ultra Pro Specifications

The Dangbei S7 Ultra Pro delivers a native 4K resolution and 4500 CVIA lumens brightness. It maintains clear image visibility under various lighting conditions and is positioned as a premium home cinema projector.

The projector features a cinema-grade polarized light-control engine that improves optical efficiency by 10% and increases light throughput by 168%. It uses a Master Gold Ring lens with cinema-level resolving power, which helps produce sharper images and improved light performance.

The S7 Ultra Pro also debuts the industry’s first eight-layer light-dispersion module. This technology reduces laser speckle by 99.999%, ensuring smoother and cleaner visuals. The 0.98-1.6:1 cinema-grade optical zoom enables flexible image sizes without loss of detail. It can project a 100-inch image from 3.3 meters, an 80-inch image at close range, and a maximum size of 300 inches in larger spaces.

In terms of contrast, the S7 Ultra Pro offers an 8000:1 native ratio and a 65,000:1 dynamic contrast using the company’s Dynamic Light-Control algorithm. The projector supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+, and HDR Vivid for high-quality HDR playback across all content types.

The projector supports far-field voice commands, gesture control, and light-tracking pointer navigation.

The system also connects with the Mi Home ecosystem, allowing users to automate scenarios such as turning on the projector, closing curtains, and activating ambient lighting. The projector uses a liquid cooling system that improves heat dissipation efficiency by 50% and keeps operating noise down to 24dB.

In terms of design, it looks very similar to the Max version. Compared to other brands, this series closely resembles the Xgimi Horizon lineup, which was also refreshed earlier this year.
