Google is expected to launch the Android 12 sometime in the Second half of this year. Ahead of this, the brand will release Beta versions as usual. Several reports have already uncovered what features the company is planning to bring this time. Now, a 9to5Google report says that it might get a revamped Autorotate feature.
Google is working on a new feature termed as ‘Smart Autorotate‘ courtesy of XDA. While the specifics aren’t known yet, 9to5Google says that it could be a face-based one. That is, using the front-facing camera, the screen will be rotated automatically according to your face orientation.
For recognizing the position of the face, Google might use an algorithm where the front camera sensor captures the view of the user’s face. You don’t have to fear privacy issues as Google would mostly capture/process the data locally.
In the past, Autorotate feature has had its share of annoying users. For instance, if you are toggling between portrait and landscape mode while lying down sideways, it will shift to landscape mode as you tilt it. However, your face would be facing the phone straightaway.
This makes the Automatic feature useless at times. Anyway, as the report says, the Smart Autorotate/Face-based Auto-rotate on Android 12 could make use of the face shape algorithms found on other apps like Google Duo.
Also, if Google were to bring it to the final version, it should roll out to the Google Pixels first before launching on other devices.
Android 12 is shaping out to be a great upgrade with a lot more changes than we expected. The Alphabet-owned company is planning the new AOSP with Material NEXT design, new UI with revamped Notification shade, a dedicated Gaming Mode, one-handed Mode, Always-on Display changes, and more.

OPPO is known for developing weird smartphone designs. In fact, the company has already announced a smartphone with a rollable display OPPO X 2021 last year. It also patents interesting designs from time to time. Accordingly, the focus has lately been on designing the front camera. One such has been spotted by LetsGoDigital.
CC: LetsGoDigital
According to the report, OPPO‘s new patent has been published on January 28, 2021. It was applied last year by Guangdong Oppo Mobile Telecommunications at WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization). The design schematics shows a movable front camera for capturing selfies from various angles.
As you can see below, the arrangement on the top of the display upfront operates with the help of a drive motor. Apparently, it uses a guide block placed inside a rail bracket to move the sensor bi-directionally. That is, once the camera app is opened, users can adjust the position of the front camera and move it left/right.
Some of the use-case scenarios are taking side views of users while they are looking straight, Adjust the various compositions of images and capture it in multiple angles, comfortable panorama selfies, and more.
OPPO brought a shark-fin-shaped pop-up module with the Reno Series of smartphones. The company has also been experimenting with a few things with its Find-X series. Hence, we cannot guess which Series will get this design if at all it comes to light.
Either way, the latest patent also shows a flushed display with minimal bezels on all sides. Further, the report says that it also has an in-display fingerprint scanner which is a no-brainer these days.
Back in October, a leak had claimed that the OPPO’s upcoming flagship phone will be featuring the Snapdragon 870 SoC. Multiple pieces of evidence have revealed that the Find X3 Pro will be equipped with the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform. Fresh details reveal that the upcoming Find X3 is equipped with the SD870 chip.
The screengrabs of the AIDA64 benchmarks, AnTuTu appearance, and About Phone page of the OPPO PEDM00 phone show that it features a Qualcomm chip with ‘sm8250’ model number, Adreno 650 GPU, and ‘kona’ codename. However, the About Phone page mentions specifically that the OPPO Find X3 is packed with the latest Snapdragon 870.
Oppo find x3 is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor
The screenshots also show that the Find X3 has a display that offers 1080 x 2412 pixels resolution, 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of built-in storage. One of the cameras of the Find X3 is 12.6-megapixel. A vacant spot at the top-left corner in all three screengrabs indicates that the smartphone features a punch-hole display.
The OPPO PEDM00 smartphone was previously spotted at China’s 3C certification platform earlier this month. The listing revealed that the mysterious 5G phone will be arriving in the market with a 65W fast charger. It is already known that the PEEM00 model number belongs to the OPPO Find X3 Pro.
OPPO Is expected to announce the OPPO Find X3 lineup in March. Reports have revealed that the series has as many as four smartphones such as the Find X3, Find X3 Pro, Find X3 Lite, and Find X3 Neo. The Lite and Neo phones are said to be rebadged editions of China’s OPPO Reno5 5G and Reno5 Pro 5G, respectively.

HUAWEI P series is the company’s flagship smartphone series for the first half of a year. These devices are usually announced around the time of MWC (Mobile World Congress). But due to the current situation, the next-gen HUAWEI P50 series may come later than its predecessor. Ahead of its official announcement, some details regarding these upcoming handsets have been tipped.
According to a well-known HUAWEI-focussed tipster who goes by the username @RODENT950 on Twitter, the forthcoming HUAWEI P50 series will include three models, just like the last year’s HUAWEI P40 series.
Hence, we can expect the Chinese telecom giant to release the following models.

HUAWEI P50 Pro+
Further, as per the leaker, the standard P50 will be the new Lite model powered by HiSilicon Kirin 9000E SoC. Early last year, iQOO was one of the first companies to launch a 5G smartphone in India. The Chinese brand introduced iQOO 3 in the country in both 4G and 5G variants. Almost a year has passed but the firm is yet to release another handset. Thankfully, the situation may improve soon, as per a new rumor.
According to Tushar Mehta of XDA Developers, iQOO, the independent brand of vivo may release two or more devices in India in the coming months starting March. He also suggests that one of them could be the brand’s latest flagship smartphone – iQOO 7.
Anyway, we would request you to consider this piece of information with a pinch of salt. Because Mehta himself says that this is merely a rumor and not a confirmed leak. However, it is worth noting that his previous tips have been accurate.
That said, vivo was India’s third-largest smartphone brand in Q4 2020. The company was even the largest offline brand during the same period. However, we cannot say anything good about iQOO.
Ever since its launch, iQOO 3 has been discounted multiple times. In fact, its price has been permanently dopped by a high margin. Above all, the handset was part of the Android 11 Beta program but it is yet to receive the stable update.
Having said that, we hope iQOO to make an impressive comeback since it has potential.
OnePlus is expected to debut into the world of Smartwatches with two products this year. Ahead of the launch, a lot of leaks about them have been appearing online. Now, another leak shows the possible design of the OnePlus Watch courtesy of Techniknews.
OnePlus has patented a Smartwatch design on German Patent and Trademark Office(GPTO). Although OnePlus hasn’t confirmed the design yet, the description of patentshows that OnePlus Technologies themselves have filed it. This suggests that the design with a round dial could be final as leaked before.
Talking about the design itself, one of the sketches shows a round dial with flouted bracelet(straps). On the right side, there are two buttons probably for UI navigation. On the back, there are sensors that could be for Heart rate, Blood Oxygen, Blood Pressure etc.
Beneath them, two contact points likely for magnetic charging are also visible. The report says that this could be the ‘Sport Version’ of the ‘OnePlus Watch’.

The second design, however, is already known to us via various leaks. This one has a frame that extends slightly outer and also has a differenet strap design. That is, we can spot a new Clip on one end of the strap whose functionality is a bit unclear at this point.
Apart from this, other areas like button placements, sensors look similar as mentioned above.

Could be Standard 'OnePlus Watch' CC: Techniknews
The OnePlus watch(model: W501GB) is rumored to launch sometime in March and both have received certifications already. The company will seemingly launch a watch with ‘OnePlus Watch RX’ moniker having a round-shaped dial(like OPPO Watch RX) and also a Watch with a square-shaped dial (model: W301GB).
There’s also a Cyberpunk Limited Edition in the making. For software, it is likely to host an in-house UI and not the Google’s Wear OS courtesy of leaks.
While Microsoft ended the support for Windows 7 back in January 2020, the older version of Windows is still going strong with a notable user base across the globe. However, despite this, the company has recently started seeing an upgrade wave as well.
According to a WCCFTechreport, the American tech giant has supported the older version of Windows for over 10 years before finally ending support. While the company never officially shared any stats regarding the user base, data from NetMarketShare has revealed that 1 in every 4 computers was still being powered by Windows 7. Microsoft has offered a free upgrade offer to Windows 7 users. Now, a year after the company ended support, it has observed a new upgrade wave.
In other words, there has been a number of users shifting away from the now unsupported Windows version. Last month, the company stated that “In Windows, the stronger PC market resulted in overall OEM revenue growth of 1 percent, despite a strong prior year comparable in OEM Pro from the end of support for Windows 7. OEM non-Pro revenue grew 24 percent, and OEM Pro revenue declined 9 percent. Inventory levels ended the quarter in the normal range.”
At the moment, at least 20 percent of all devices are still running on Windows 7, as per NetmarketShare. Furthermore, the most number of older devices running this version of Windows belong to government and institutions, which have always been slow to switch to newer products and services despite the company offering a free upgrade plan.

Last month, it was rumored that Samsung is working on two new Galaxy Book Pro laptops. Recently, the company has even received Bluetooth certification for the notebooks, which will apparently be called the Galaxy Book Pro and the Galaxy Book Pro 360. Now, certain specifications of these laptops have been revealed.
According to a SamMobilereport, the South Korean tech giant will be launching the new laptops in two size variants, namely a 13.3 inch and a 15.6 inch model. These laptops will feature OLED panels, which is among its key selling points. Furthermore, both the Galaxy Book Pro and the Galaxy Book Pro 360 will also arrive with support for the S Pen as well. The report further adds that the upcoming notebooks will be powered by Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors.
In other words, these are not Chromebooks, and feature Windows OS. Additionally, the Galaxy Book Pro will be available in both Wi-Fi and LTE models, while the Galaxy Book Pro 360 will launch in a Wi-Fi and 5G enabled variant. At the moment, the difference between the base Pro and Pro 360 variant is unknown, but the ‘360’ might be indicative of its screen’s hinge mechanism, which might allow for a wider range of movement for the display.
Recently, Samsung had launched new laptops like the Galaxy Book Flex 2 5G, the Notebook Plus 2, and the Galaxy Chromebook 2 as well. While the brand hasn’t announced any imminent launch of new laptops, the certification implies that the devices are not too far off. Unfortunately, this is still just an unconfirmed report and we will have to wait for an official company announcement to know for sure. So stay tuned for more updates.
