Galaxy S26 Pro’s “Pro” status questioned in new leak

Samsung is reshaping its flagship lineup for 2026, but not everyone is convinced by the company’s new naming strategy. A fresh leak is casting doubt on whether the Galaxy S26 Pro truly lives up to its “Pro” branding.

According to reports from Korean outlets, Samsung will ditch the familiar S+ branding and release three models next January: the Galaxy S26 Pro, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra. But well-known tipster Ice Universe isn’t buying into the Pro hype.

In a post on X, he argued that the S26 Pro doesn’t offer enough to justify the “Pro” title, pointing out that only two changes stand out—a new primary camera (with the same sensor size) and a switch to what he called a “useless” 50MP ultra-wide sensor, replacing the older 12MP, 1/2.55-inch unit from the S25. The criticism likely refers to the tiny sensor area, which is only marginally larger than before. For context, packing more pixels onto a small sensor often leads to higher noise and bigger file sizes, with little to no improvement in real-world image quality.

Other elements, such as the 10MP telephoto lens and Full HD+ display, are said to remain unchanged, fueling criticism that the device is more of a refresh than a true step forward. Still, leaks suggest the S26 Pro won’t be entirely without merit. Under the hood, it’s expected to carry Qualcomm’s upcoming “Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5” or Samsung’s own Exynos 2600 (depending on the region), along with a slightly larger battery.

While Ice Universe downplays these tweaks, the phone could still pack enough flagship-grade hardware to appeal to Galaxy fans looking for an upgrade. The lack of a periscope telephoto lens remains a clear dividing line between the “Pro” and Ultra model, keeping the latter as Samsung’s photography showcase. Unfortunately, Ice Universe also recently revealed that the 3x periscope telephoto on the Ultra will face a downgrade instead of an upgrade, after remaining unchanged for a few years.

With launch day only a few months away, the debate around the Galaxy S26 Pro highlights the tricky balance Samsung faces: making its mid-tier flagship distinct without watering down the “Pro” name.

OpenAI uncovers cause of AI hallucinations and even suggests a fix

AI chatbots have made their way into classrooms, offices, and everyday life—but they still suffer from a frustrating flaw: sometimes they simply make things up. These so-called “hallucinations” can look convincing but turn out to be completely wrong. OpenAI says it has figured out why this happens, and the company believes it has a fix that could make future AI tools far more trustworthy.

OpenAI recently published a 36-page paper co-authored with Georgia Tech’s Santosh Vempala and others, digging into the problem. The researchers argue that hallucinations aren’t really caused by poor model design, but by the way AI systems are tested and ranked. Current benchmarks often reward a chatbot for answering every question, even if it gets some wrong, while punishing models that hold back when they aren’t sure. Think of it like a multiple-choice exam that encourages guessing instead of leaving blanks.

To counter this, the paper suggests flipping the scoring system: make “confident but wrong” answers count heavily against a model, while rewarding it for showing caution or admitting uncertainty. Early examples highlight the difference. In one benchmark, a cautious model answered only half the questions but got 74% right, while another answered nearly all but hallucinated three out of four times.

If adopted, this approach could change how AI assistants behave day to day. Instead of confidently inventing a source or statistic, they’d be more likely to say, “I don’t know.” That may sound less impressive, but it could save users from having to constantly double-check their answers. For OpenAI, this research is a step toward AI that values accuracy and trust over flashy but unreliable confidence.

No 60W charging for Galaxy S26 Ultra, certification confirms

Samsung’s next big flagship may not bring the charging leap many were hoping for. A fresh certification filing just confirmed the Galaxy S26 Ultra will once again cap out at 45W wired charging, despite earlier speculation about a bump to 60W.

The listing, spotted on China’s Quality Certification Center, confirms support for 10V/4.5A or 15V/3A charging—exactly the same figures as the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Since Chinese models typically showcase Samsung’s top specifications, it’s unlikely that global versions will differ. The rest of the lineup seems just as cautious: both the Galaxy S26 Pro and S26 Edge are still expected to stick to 25W charging. For context, the iPhone 17 Pro models support 40W fast charging, a major difference from the base and Edge models of the current and upcoming Galaxy flagship lineup.

That means buyers looking for a dramatic improvement in charging speeds may be left disappointed, especially when many Android flagships from China—including Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, and OnePlus—are already pushing 100W or higher. Samsung, by contrast, appears to be leaning on “battery health” and user safety while equipping the base and Edge models with limited cooling measures. The Ultra is expected to keep its 5,000 mAh cell, so charging times will likely remain unchanged.

It’s not the only area drawing concern, however. Leaks have hinted that the Ultra’s 3x zoom camera could actually take a step backward with a smaller sensor. Combined with the charging news, the S26 Ultra may feel more like an incremental update, just to maintain the yearly release cycle, rather than a generational leap that urges S25 Ultra users to upgrade.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S26 series in January 2026. Until then, the company is promoting a “Mystery Box” preorder package with extras like a free case and screen protector. Whether that’s enough to distract fans from the lack of hardware upgrades remains to be seen.

Galaxy S26 Pro and Edge to charge even slower than their predecessors while all iPhone 17 models support 40W

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series is still months away, but the first leaks are already sparking debate among fans. While most expect charging speeds to improve, a new report claims the Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge will stick with the same limitations as their predecessors.

The information comes from Ice Universe, a tipster with a solid track record, who posted on X that both the S26 Pro and Edge will once again be limited to 25 W wired charging. That figure hasn’t changed in years, despite a steady increase in battery capacities across its lineup.

According to previous leaks, the Galaxy S26 Pro will feature a 4,300 mAh battery, up from 4,000 mAh on the S25. The S26 Edge is tipped to include a 4,200 mAh cell, up from 3,900 mAh on the S25 Edge. These larger capacities may extend runtime, but they also mean longer downtime, since charging speeds remain unchanged.

With much of the Galaxy S26 Pro’s design reportedly unchanged from last year, an upgraded heat dissipation system also seems unlikely. This suggests the phone won’t be able to draw more power from the 25W adapter than the S25, as doing so would raise battery temperatures to unsafe levels.

Apple’s iPhone 17 series reportedly supports 40 W wired charging, and even the lighter iPhone Air model is said to offer 27 W. Chinese competitors, meanwhile, often push speeds well beyond 100 W. In this context, Samsung’s decision to hold back on faster charging feels conservative.

Interestingly, the Galaxy S26 Ultra may break away from this pattern. The flagship model is rumored to jump from 45 W to 60 W charging, creating a sharper gap between the Ultra and the other models.

If the leak proves accurate, Samsung seems to be prioritizing battery size and longevity over raw charging speed. That might appeal to some users, but others will see it as a missed opportunity—especially when rivals continue to push the limits. The real test will come in January 2026, when the S26 series is expected to make its debut.

Galaxy S26 Pro renders reveal design element borrowed from Samsung’s foldables

Fresh leaks are giving us a closer look at the Galaxy S26 Pro, with CAD-based renders showing the device from multiple angles for the first time. As part of Samsung’s reshuffled 2026 lineup, the “Pro” model seems to focus on refinement rather than radical change, but still packs some notable upgrades ahead of its expected January launch.

The most noticeable design change is a new pill-shaped camera island that houses three separate lenses while still keeping the familiar Samsung look. If it looks familiar, that’s because recent Galaxy Z Fold models also adopted this type of camera island. In fact, leaked renders of the Ultra model show the same redesign.

From the front and sides, however, the S26 Pro appears almost indistinguishable from its predecessor, as you can see in the image below.

It is said to feature a slightly larger 6.3-inch display, up from 6.2 inches on the S25. The dimensions reportedly come in at 149.3 x 71.4 x 6.96 mm (down from 7.2 mm on the S25), making the phone a bit taller, wider, and slimmer, with a 10.23 mm camera bump.

Other details suggest the S26 Pro will be powered by either the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (also referred to as 8 Elite Gen 5) or Exynos 2600, depending on the region. The battery is also set to grow slightly to 4,300 mAh, while the ultrawide camera moves to a new 50 MP sensor. Wireless charging with built-in magnets, similar to what Google’s Pixel 10 series offers, is also expected.

The Galaxy S26 Pro may not be a radical departure from its predecessor, but the larger display, higher RAM ceiling, and improved camera setup point to a more polished flagship. With Samsung aiming to balance performance and design tweaks, the S26 Pro could be a strong contender as it faces off against Apple’s iPhone 17 and Xiaomi’s 2026 flagships.

Baseus has announced its new PicoGo II Series, a lineup of compact GaN chargers and Qi2.2-certified magnetic wireless accessories. The collection targets professionals, students, and everyday users with a focus on fast, efficient, and travel-ready charging solutions.

The PicoGo II Series includes three wall chargers: the AE11 67W, AN13 45W, and AE21 100W Digital Display. It also introduces new magnetic charging accessories, including two power banks and a foldable 3-in-1 wireless charger, all designed to meet the latest Qi2.2 standard.

The PicoGo AN13 supports 45W fast charging via two USB-C ports. Baseus has reduced the size by up to 47% compared to similar chargers on the market. Google rolls out update to fix Pixel 10 display glitches

The Pixel 10 series has only been on the market for a couple of weeks, but some early buyers quickly ran into an unexpected issue: strange colored stripes appearing on their displays. Google has now pushed out a software update that it says addresses the problem, though questions remain about how widespread the fix really is.

The Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL went on sale on August 28. Not long after, reports surfaced of screens briefly showing red, green, or white stripes. The glitches looked like hardware damage at first glance, but the fact that they often disappeared on their own suggested a software-related bug instead.

Google’s September patch (build BD3A.250721.001.B7) began rolling out on September 3 and is said to resolve the issue. Interestingly, the official changelog doesn’t directly mention the line problem, instead referring only to a fix for black screens when loading webpages in Chrome. In a statement shared with Android Authority, Google confirmed that a “small number” of Pixel 10 units were affected and said further fixes are on the way. Users who still experience glitches are being encouraged to contact Google support or their retailer.

Google’s quick turnaround shows it’s paying attention to early complaints, but the omission from the changelog and the lack of a clear guarantee may frustrate some owners. While the latest patch appears to ease the issue for many, it might not be the final fix. For now, Pixel 10 buyers will have to wait and see if Google can fully iron out the problem.

Dell launches S2725DC 2K monitor with 144Hz, USB-C 65W & eye comfort for under $250

Dell has rolled out the 27-inch S2725DC monitor for designers, professionals, and commercial users. It debuted in Japan earlier this month and is now available in China via JD.com for 1,699 yuan (about $238).

The S2725DC features a 2560×1440 IPS panel that supports a 144Hz refresh rate and 4ms GtG response time. It delivers 350 nits of brightness and a 1500:1 contrast ratio. The display covers 99% of the sRGB color gamut and supports 16.7 million colors for smoother gradients and more accurate output.

Dell includes ComfortView Plus hardware-level low blue light protection, which reduces harmful blue light by 15% compared to its previous generation. The monitor is certified with TÜV Rheinland’s four-star Sharp Vision standard and meets ComfortView Plus Level 2 requirements.

Dell equips the monitor with a versatile port setup. The front houses a pop-up USB hub that includes one USB-C port with 15W output and one USB-A port with Battery Charging 1.2.

The new Starfrost variant doesn’t alter the hardware but adds some extra style for those who want performance and looks in a single package. For RedMagic, it’s another step in building momentum outside of China in a growing niche of compact flagship tablets.

The camera uses a 102-megapixel GFX 102MP CMOS II HS sensor. It offers five main formats: GF, Premista, 35mm, ANAMORPHIC (35mm), and Super35, with multiple resolution options. Filming is possible in 4:3 Open Gate at up to 48 frames per second. The sensor measures 43.8mm wide, 32.9mm high, and 54.8mm diagonally. NoiseFit Endeavour Pro launched with rugged design, AMOLED display & dual-band GPS

Noise has launched the NoiseFit Endeavour Pro rugged smartwatch in India, targeting outdoor enthusiasts and fitness-focused users. The watch will be available from September 11 at a special launch price of Rs. 9,999 ($113). It will be sold through gonoise.com, Amazon, Flipkart, and offline retail partners, including Croma and Reliance Digital.

OnePlus Nord CE 5 Gets September 2025 Update with Smoother Animations and App Management

OnePlus has started rolling out OxygenOS 15.0.2.601 for the Nord CE 5. The update is currently live in India under build number CPH2717_15.0.2.601(EX01) and is being pushed in batches. A wider rollout will follow in the coming days.

The update brings smoother animations when tapping Live Alerts or notifications while the screen is locked. A new map album has been added, which lets users view all photos with location tags on a map. Photos moved out of the Private album will now return to their original folders, making them easier to find.

Privacy settings have also been updated. Users can now change their privacy password from each secondary page of Private Safe as well as in the Locked album of Photos. App Management in Phone Manager now shows daily and weekly screen time. The IR Remote app has an improved layout for the remote control panel buttons.

On the system side, the September 2025 Android security patch has been added to improve device security.

The OTA rollout is incremental. A limited number of users in India will receive the update first, expanding to more devices after confirming stability. Users can manually check for the update by going to Settings > System > System Updates.

Samsung has launched the Galaxy F17 5G in India, the successor to the Galaxy F16 5G. The new phone brings a thinner and lighter build, a redesigned camera module, Gorilla Glass Victus protection, and Samsung’s Exynos processor, while keeping the same display size, battery, and camera setup as the previous model.

Lenovo Bellator 7000 gaming laptop gets new i7-13650HX variant with RTX 5060

Lenovo has announced a new configuration for its Bellator Zhan 7000 Core Edition gaming laptop. The latest model features Intel’s Core i7-13650HX processor and carries a price tag of 6299 yuan ($884) for early buyers. Lenovo will begin sales on September 16. This release follows the launch of the Ryzen edition last month.

The Core i7-13650HX packs 14 cores and 20 threads in a 6P+8E layout, boosting to 4.9 GHz with 24 MB L3 cache and up to 120 W power for desktop-class speed. The laptop features 16GB of DDR5-4800 RAM in a dual-channel layout and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. Both the memory and storage are upgradeable. Lenovo includes two SO-DIMM slots and two M.2 SSD slots, with one of each left open for expansion.

The device includes a 60Wh battery and supports 100W USB-C PD fast charging. Lenovo says the laptop maintains a net charge during stress testing over USB-C.

Port selection includes HDMI 2.1 (48Gbps), a full-feature USB-C port, four USB-A ports, a 3.5mm combo audio jack, RJ45 Ethernet, and a DC charging port.

Compared to the earlier i7-14650HX variant, the new model lowers the CPU power from 130W to 120W, reduces memory speed, and cuts the SSD size in half. The battery also drops from 80Wh to 60Wh. These changes reduce the price by 700 yuan ($98). The GPU, cooling system, and display remain the same.

Google’s in-house Tensor chips from the beginning have faced criticism for not offering solid performance. While they are excellent for everyday tasks, the performance gap is pretty significant when compared with the latest flagships from Qualcomm and MediaTek.

The latest Tensor G5, despite Google claiming a “major performance boost,” couldn’t get anywhere near the Snapdragon 8 Elite’s benchmark figures. The story remained unchanged when compared against Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 — again, a big performance gap in Snapdragon’s favor. Now, we’re interested in finding out if the Tensor G5 can match or outperform a nearly three-year-old Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

The Tensor G5 pulls ahead in the CPU department, scoring 483,989 vs 373,687 — a 29% lead that shows Google’s new custom cores are much stronger for raw processing. On the other hand, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 still holds a higher GPU score, with 599,957 vs 416,313 — a massive 44% advantage. That means Qualcomm’s older chips are still superior to the latest Tensor G5 for graphics-intensive workloads, such as gaming and 3D rendering.

Memory and UX scores are closer, with Tensor G5 slightly ahead in memory (293,467 vs 273,714) and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 leading in UX (265,325 vs 235,788). So, according to AnTuTu scores, both chips should feel smooth for day-to-day use, but Snapdragon’s stronger GPU still gives it the gaming edge.

Google claims a 30% faster average CPU uplift for the Tensor G5 compared to last year’s G4, and this improvement is also reflected in benchmarks. On AnTuTu, Tensor G5 scored higher in CPU, and Geekbench also paints a similar picture.

In single-core performance, the Tensor G5 scores 2,316 vs 1,912, giving it a 21% lead. This means the latest Tensor should feel noticeably snappier in everyday tasks, such as app launches, UI responsiveness, and web browsing.

The gap widens even further in multi-core performance, with the G5 reaching 6,452 vs 5,204 — about a 24% advantage. This should result in better handling of multitasking, heavier apps, and background processes.

Overall, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 still has the edge in GPU and gaming (as seen on AnTuTu), both benchmarks (AnTuTu and Geekbench) show stronger CPU performance for the Tensor G5. So, except for gaming and other graphics-intensive tasks, the new Tensor should feel snappier and more responsive.

The spec sheet clearly shows why the Tensor G5 has a higher CPU score than the 8 Gen 2 on benchmarks. It uses newer CPU cores, which are more performance-friendly and power-efficient. Plus, they also run at a higher speed. Additionally, TSMC’s 3nm advanced manufacturing technology further enables the Tensor G5 to achieve better CPU performance and efficiency.

As for the GPU, the Tensor G5 features PowerVR DXT-48-1536, whereas the 8 Gen 2 comes with Adreno 740, which supports ray tracing and a full suite of Snapdragon Elite Gaming features. For on-device AI capabilities, the G5 has a new Google Edge TPU, which is likely more capable than the Qualcomm Hexagon NPU on the 8 Gen 2. Another notable difference is the newer Bluetooth v6.0 standard on the Tensor chip, whereas the 8 Gen 2 has Bluetooth 5.3.
