Xiaomi Smart Camera 4C 3.5K Brings 6MP Recording, Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6, and AI Detection

Xiaomi has launched the Smart Camera 4C 3.5K in China with upgrades in image quality, connectivity, and security. It now has a 6 MP sensor that records at 3200 × 1800 pixels, using a 1/2.45-inch image sensor. AI processing keeps videos clear and bright, even in low light, and it can record full-color footage in very dim conditions.

Xiaomi Smart Camera 4C

The camera supports dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) with OFDMA technology, offering up to 60% faster transfer speeds compared to Wi-Fi 4. This provides a more stable connection and smoother live viewing on mobile devices. A 1T AI chip improves the speed and accuracy of human and pet detection, as well as movement tracking.

Xiaomi Smart Camera 4C

Security features include the MJA1 security chip with EAL 5+ certification, cloud transmission encryption, and a physical lens cover. The cover can be closed manually, on a set schedule, or during preset time periods. The camera can detect people and pets, track movement locally with AI, and use cloud positioning to reduce tracking errors.

For night use, it has eight 940 nm infrared lights that are invisible to the human eye, avoiding red-light glare while sleeping. It captures more detail in low light and keeps images in color for longer.

It offers a 360° horizontal and 116° vertical viewing range, supports microSD cards up to 256 GB, works with NAS storage, and can connect with other Xiaomi smart devices. One example is adjusting air conditioning temperature based on the number of people in the room.

Pricing & availability

The Xiaomi Smart Camera 4C 3.5K is priced at CNY 199 (~US28) in China and is available for pre-order. There is no confirmed date for its international release.

Oppo Find X9 Ultra tipped to pack a 7,000mAh dual-cell battery

Oppo’s next flagship could be a battery powerhouse. A new leak claims the Find X9 Ultra will ship with a much larger battery than its predecessor, while keeping the same fast charging speeds and adding a serious camera upgrade.

OPPO-Find-X8-Ultra
OPPO-Find-X8-Ultra

Tipster Digital Chat Station says the X9 Ultra will use a dual-cell setup rated at 6,850mAh (3,425mAh each) — likely marketed as 7,000mAh typical. That’s up from the Find X8 Ultra’s 6,100mAh typical capacity and would put it among the largest flagship batteries we’ve seen.

Despite the jump, Oppo is reportedly sticking with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. The leak also suggests the phone won’t bulk up much, which would be an impressive bit of engineering.

The X9 Ultra is said to feature a 6.82-inch OLED display with 2K+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Power efficiency upgrade is still a question mark, but the camera specs are harder to ignore: a 200MP main sensor, 50MP ultrawide, and dual periscope zoom lenses (200MP and 50MP) with up to 10x optical zoom. Inside, it’s tipped to run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, with ColorOS 16 based on Android 16. An IP68/IP69 rating is also rumored.

In comparison, the X8 Ultra packs a 50MP 1-inch type Sony LYT-900 main sensor, paired with dual 50MP periscope telephoto lenses (3x and 6x) and a 50MP ultrawide. You can check out our full camera test of the X8 Ultra here.

Oppo is likely to launch the Find X9 Ultra in the first quarter of 2026. If the leak is accurate, it could stand toe-to-toe with rivals like the Galaxy S26 Ultra, thanks to its battery capacity and camera setup.

Huawei Mate 80 series to feature miniaturized cooling fan while remaining waterproof

Huawei launched its flagship Mate 70 series back in November last year, and as you can expect, the Mate 80 series is in the works. The Mate 70 series is powered by Huawei’s allegedly 7nm-based Kirin 9020 chip, and the upcoming Mate flagships are expected to use the next-generation Kirin — not the latest flagship Snapdragon or Dimensity chips based on the most efficient process nodes to date.

Huawei-Mate-70-Pro-back-design

And this is where the latest leak comes in. According to Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, Huawei is working on an active cooling system for the Mate 80 series which, paired with a large silicon-carbon battery, could deliver a significant boost in performance, especially during sustained heavy workloads.

To be more specific, the Chinese tech giant has engineered a miniaturized version of a cooling fan and air duct to keep the main processor and camera modules cool during operation. The cooling solution is reportedly positioned in the lower half of the circular camera module, while the air duct is placed along the side of the phone. For those concerned about water resistance, it’s designed to keep the device water resistant — likely by isolating the airflow path from the internals to prevent dust or water from entering.

However, it’s worth noting that this active cooling approach isn’t entirely new — not even the water-resistant version. Oppo has already implemented something similar in its IP68/IP69 certified K13 Turbo series. The Oppo phones will launch much sooner than Huawei’s upcoming flagships, and it will be interesting to see how Huawei’s implementation compares to a solution that will already be available on the market at a much lower price.

OnePlus 13s Gets OxygenOS 15.0.2.501 With Split View and BeaconLink

OnePlus has started the incremental rollout of OxygenOS 15.0.2.501 for the OnePlus 13s in India. The update, version CPH2723_15.0.2.501(EX01), is currently reaching users in batches, with a small percentage receiving it first. A wider rollout will follow in the next few days.

OnePlus 13s alternatives

The update improves animations for opening, repositioning, and resizing floating windows. Split View has been upgraded, with no fixed ratio limits. Users can now adjust the ratio between two apps as needed. In landscape mode, the divider between apps can be dragged to change their sizes. Notifications in landscape now appear as simplified banners to reduce interruptions, and swiping down on a banner opens the app in a floating window.

A new feature, BeaconLink, lets users send text, image, and voice messages to nearby devices without an internet connection. It can be found in Settings > Mobile network > BeaconLink.

Bug reporting is now easier. Users can submit reports directly from the OnePlus Community App under the Bug Report section in their profile. Another option is to dial *#800# to open the feedback tool.

This is an incremental OTA release. The first wave of users will get it today, and more devices will receive it after initial checks confirm stability.

This New Xiaomi Filter Could Be the Secret to Rust-Free, Sediment-Free Tap Water

Xiaomi has launched the Mijia Pre-Filter Pro, a whole-house water filtration system that removes impurities before they reach the home’s plumbing. It is now available for pre-order in China on JD.com for 799 yuan ($111).

Xiaomi Mijia Pre-Filter Pro

Xiaomi Mijia Pre-Filter Pro Specifications

The Mijia Pre-Filter Pro is positioned as the first line of defense for household water safety. It uses a 40-micron bionic fish gill filtration membrane to capture sediment, rust, hair, paper scraps, algae, and even insect eggs before they reach your taps.

Xiaomi claims a retention rate of up to 98.6%, ensuring cleaner water and protecting downstream appliances like washing machines, dishwashers, and water heaters from clogging or scale buildup.

The filter features a water-powered self-cleaning system that allows scheduled flush cycles every 7, 15, or 30 days. During cleaning, it performs a 360-degree swirling backwash in which the discs open, high-pressure water jets spray in reverse, and the discs spin rapidly to use centrifugal force for debris removal.

This is followed by a strong direct rinse to wash away particles. Xiaomi refers to the process as “one open, two turn, three scrub,” designed to restore full filtration performance automatically.

The system is built for whole-home coverage, offering an 8T/h flow rate. That’s enough to keep multiple water outlets running simultaneously, think kitchen sinks, showers, and laundry, without noticeable drops in pressure. In practical terms, Xiaomi says it can filter in one minute the equivalent of about 8.9 barrels of bottled water.

Durability is another selling point. The Pre-Filter Pro features a copper-wrapped aluminum water channel that resists corrosion and prevents the leaching of heavy metals. It is built to handle extreme temperatures from -50°C to 80°C and pressure surges up to 20 bar.

It also offers anti-freeze, anti-explosion, and waterproof protection, making it suitable for different environments. Additionally, the filter sports a built-in battery box that removes the need for an external “backpack” power source, ensuring a cleaner and more compact installation.

In related news, Xiaomi recently introduced an affordable hair dryer capable of drying hair in just one minute, along with a split air conditioner that purifies air, cools quickly, and eliminates viruses.

Samsung’s budget-friendly Galaxy Tab A11 shows up in a real-life photo ahead of launch

Samsung looks ready to refresh its most affordable tablet lineup. A new listing on Safety Korea’s certification site has revealed the Galaxy Tab A11, and this time, we’re getting an actual photo of the device.

The image confirms what we’ve come to expect from Samsung’s entry-level Galaxy Tab A series: a simple, no-fuss design built for basic everyday use.

Up front, the tablet sports slim bezels with a front-facing camera tucked neatly along the top edge, perfect for video calls in landscape mode. Flip it over, and you’ll see a single rear camera paired with an LED flash, sitting in the corner of an otherwise clean back panel. It’s minimalist, and that’s the point.

The model number for this device is SM-X135N, but beyond that, the certification doesn’t reveal much about what’s inside. Samsung hasn’t confirmed any specs yet, but earlier rumors suggest it could feature a 5,000mAh battery and a price under $150.

Galaxy Tab A11 could launch next month

The tablet is set to succeed the Galaxy Tab A9 from 2023, which comes with an 8.7-inch TFT LCD screen, a MediaTek Helio G99 chip, up to 8GB of RAM, and Android 13 out of the box (with an upgrade path to Android 15).

Samsung Galaxy Tab A9

While it’s unclear how much will change under the hood, we can expect Samsung to stick with the same no-nonsense approach. It could feature stereo speakers, microSD expansion, and a USB-C port. For many, that’s more than enough for streaming, web browsing, and light work.

Adding fuel to the launch speculation, tipster Abishek Yadav claims that the Galaxy Tab A11, along with a beefier Tab A11+, could debut in India as soon as next month. If true, a global launch might follow shortly after.

Huawei Mate 80 RS tipped to feature dual-layer OLED, titanium frame

According to well-known leaker Digital Chat Station, Huawei’s upcoming Mate 80 RS might pack a 6.9-inch dual-layer OLED screen, the same display tech that debuted on last year’s Mate 70 RS.

Dual-layer OLED is exactly what it sounds like. It has two light-emitting OLED layers stacked on top of each other. This setup offers higher brightness, lower power consumption, and a longer screen life compared to traditional single-layer OLED panels.

huawei-mate70-rs-ultimate-design-kv-xs

The only drawback is that it’s expensive to produce. Even Apple is rumored to be looking into the technology for future iPhones, which says a lot about its potential.

Huawei Mate 80 RS with ceramic back

Beyond the screen, Huawei seems to be going all-in on premium materials. The leak mentions that the engineering prototype of Mate 80 RS has a titanium alloy middle frame. Last year’s Mate 70 RS introduced a high-gloss titanium basalt structure, and it seems Huawei wants to keep that tradition alive with even better durability.

On the back, Huawei is reportedly going for a ceramic texture finish. This doesn’t mean it’s actual ceramic, but rather a special type of glass that mimics the smooth, jade-like feel of ceramic while being lighter.

Given how the RS models usually share hardware DNA with the Pro variants, the Mate 80 RS could feature the same camera setup as the Mate 80 Pro and Mate 80 Pro+.

We’re talking about a 50MP shooter with a 1/1.28-inch sensor, roughly the same size as the one on Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro. That’s smaller than the massive 1-inch sensor found on Huawei’s Pura 80 Pro and Pura 80 Ultra, but it’s built on a 22nm process and features a 1.2μm pixel size.

The Huawei Mate 80 series is rumored to launch sometime in October 2025.

Google Pixel 10 Pro XL promo images reveal complete design before launch

With Google’s next big hardware showcase just weeks away, the Pixel 10 Pro XL is already in the news. A new leak has given us our clearest look yet at the company’s upcoming flagship, showing off its design in full.

The images, shared by WinFuture, reveal the Pixel 10 Pro XL in two finishes — Moonstone and Obsidian. At first glance, the phone doesn’t stray far from last year’s Pixel 9 Pro XL or the smaller Pixel 10 Pro, keeping the pill-shaped triple camera bar with its flash and temperature sensor. The frame is polished aluminum, and the back and front are protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. On the right-hand side sit the power and volume buttons, this time with a glossy touch to match the premium feel.

The front features a large 6.8-inch OLED display, expected to support a 120Hz refresh rate and hit up to 3,000 nits at peak brightness — a notable bump for outdoor visibility. While these pictures don’t confirm internal changes, they do show Google sticking to a sleek, polished design language.

The Pixel 10 Pro XL is set to run on Google’s new Tensor G5 processor, designed to deliver better performance and efficiency while boosting Gemini capabilities. Camera hardware is expected to remain almost the same as its predecessor — a 50MP (1/1.31″) main sensor, 48MP ultrawide, and 48MP telephoto (1/2.55″) — but with software tweaks for better low-light shots.

Battery capacity has been bumped slightly to 5,200mAh (up from 5060mAh), paired with 30W wired charging. With the leaks now out, the only surprises left might be in the software and AI features Google has kept under wraps.

The best AirPods Pro 2 alternatives

Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 are still among the best wireless earbuds you can buy in 2025. They’re small, powerful, and packed with features. But they’re not the only option. If you look around, other wireless earbuds sound great, offer strong noise cancellation, and even come with unique features that Apple’s buds don’t have.

Below, we’ve rounded up the best AirPods Pro 2 alternatives, starting with the models that scored highest in those tests, followed by a strong value pick.

1. JBL Tour Pro 3

JBL Tour Pro 3
JBL Tour Pro 3

The JBL Tour Pro 3 is the type of earbuds that quietly outperform expectations. The earbuds deliver up to 8 hours of battery life with active noise cancellation (ANC) enabled and up to 44 hours of runtime with the charging case.

They have adaptive ANC that automatically adjusts to your surroundings, plus a Transparency Mode for when you want to hear what’s going on around you. They also support immersive surround sound with head tracking, which can make movies and certain music tracks feel more lifelike.

The real standout here is the charging case. It has a small touch display that lets you control almost all the features you’d normally need the JBL Headphones app for. You can change settings, toggle ANC, or check battery life without pulling out your phone.

The case also supports Auracast, a new wireless sharing technology. You can also connect it to a laptop or other device via the included AUX cable and share the audio with other compatible headphones, even if they’re not from JBL.

2. Sony WF-1000XM5

Sony WF-1000XM5

Sony has a long history of making great headphones, and the WF-1000XM5 is no exception. Their adaptive noise cancellation automatically changes based on your environment, and they’re especially good at blocking high-frequency noise, something many earbuds struggle with.

There’s also a transparency mode for hearing your surroundings, and dynamic head tracking, which moves the soundstage as you move your head for a more natural listening experience.

Sony says the XM5 can last 8 hours with ANC on and up to 12 hours of noise cancellation off. They’re also IPX4 splash resistant, which is enough for workouts and light rain.

3. Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds

Bose is known for noise cancellation, and the QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds could arguably be the company’s best wireless earbuds yet. They fit comfortably, feel premium, and support Bluetooth 5.3 for faster, more stable connections.

These are Bose’s first earbuds to feature Immersive Audio, the brand’s take on spatial sound. In the Bose Music app, you can tweak noise cancellation through multiple presets, and the ANC performance is still among the very best, better than the AirPods Pro 2 in some situations. It even adjusts automatically so sudden loud noises don’t overpower your music.

The sound is balanced and neutral, with plenty of fine detail. Call quality is solid as well. However, they don’t support higher-quality Bluetooth codecs like LDAC or aptX HD, and they lack both wireless charging and Bluetooth multipoint. But if your priority is sound quality and class-leading ANC, these could be worth it.

4. Beats Powerbeats Pro 2

Apple PowerBeats Pro 2

If you want AirPods-like convenience with a design built for workouts, the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 are worth a look. They offer all of Apple’s software perks, including Find My support, iCloud device switching, and one-touch iOS pairing, but also have a dedicated Android app for quick pairing and customization.

Their new ear hook design makes them more stable during exercise, and the controls, while sensitive when inserting the buds, are generally easy to use thanks to both a physical button and a volume rocker.

The sound leans toward Beats’ signature punchy bass and crisp treble, but there’s still good detail. They also have solid ANC and a natural-sounding transparency mode. There’s also a built-in heartbeat monitor, which might not be a selling feature for an earbud, but you can use it if you want to.

5. Which One Should You Buy?

If you want something that competes directly with the AirPods Pro 2, the Sony WF-1000XM5 and Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds are the closest in overall sound and ANC quality. Sony’s pair wins for longer battery life and multipoint connectivity, while Bose still leads in pure noise cancellation performance.

If you want something different, the JBL Tour Pro 3 stands out for its charging case with a built-in display and sharing features, plus long battery life. And for workouts, the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 are hard to beat thanks to their secure fit and mix of Apple and Android compatibility.

In short, there’s no single “best” AirPods alternative for everyone. It depends on whether you value noise cancellation, battery life, workout fit, or smart features.
