Samsung usually starts testing new firmware weeks or months in advance to ensure the timely release of updates. That’s how the company is able to quickly expand once the stable rollout goes live.

Vivo has started selling the X300e in China today. The phone first went official on July 27, and now buyers can pick it up across all storage options in the mainland.

In September, Xiaomi is expected to become the first brand to launch flagship phones powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset. The lineup is likely to include the Xiaomi 18, Xiaomi 18 Pro, and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. Reports have claimed that, unlike previous generations, the global variants will not take long to arrive.
Traditionally, Xiaomi unveils its flagship phones in China in September, followed by a global launch in the first quarter of the following year. This appears to be changing, as some global Xiaomi 18 models have now received their first certification. At the same time, a new leak has revealed details about the Xiaomi Pad 8s Pro, which is also expected to launch soon in China.

The 2611FPNFAG is believed to be the standard Xiaomi 18, while the 2609BPN61G could be the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. It is also speculated that the Xiaomi 18 Pro may not receive a global release.
While the Xiaomi 17 Ultra was unveiled in December last year, recent reports suggest that the Xiaomi 18 Ultra may have been cancelled. Instead, August could see the debut of the Xiaomi 18 Fold, which is expected to feature a wide foldable design similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 8. However, the foldable is also expected to remain exclusive to the Chinese market.

According to tipster Bald Panda, the upcoming Xiaomi Pad 8s Pro will feature a 12.5-inch LCD panel with a 3.2K resolution, the Xring O3 chipset, a 12,000mAh battery with 120W charging, a 32-megapixel front-facing camera, and a dual rear camera system comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary camera.

Redmi has confirmed that the Redmi K100 Pro series will be unveiled on Aug. 11 in China. Rival brand OnePlus is also gearing up to unveil the OnePlus 16. At the recently held Snapdragon Gaming Technology Showcase, OnePlus China Brand General Manager Liu Baoyou shared a few initial details about the OP16. Meanwhile, a teaser, whose authenticity has not been confirmed, has surfaced online, offering a glimpse of its refreshed design.

Liu highlighted the company’s achievements in gaming technologies and its collaboration with partners to advance the high-frame-rate gaming ecosystem. He said that OnePlus recorded 13% year-on-year sales growth in the first half of 2026, making it the fastest-growing smartphone brand during the period.
He also revealed that OnePlus’ three exclusive gaming technologies, Fengchi Gaming Kernel, Extreme High Refresh Rate, and Esports Triple-Chip, will receive a major upgrade. These enhanced technologies will debut on the upcoming OnePlus 16, which he said will deliver next-level gaming performance.

Casio is releasing its new GravityMaster GWR-B3000 series in the US market. After an initial launch in Japan last month, the aviation-focused G-Shock watches are now listed on the company’s US website. The lineup consists of three models, with prices starting at $880.
Design Details
The watches are built around a dual hollow case structure designed to handle physical impacts, vibration, and centrifugal force. The inner case is made from carbon fiber-reinforced resin to keep the weight down to 102 grams, while the outer shell uses stainless steel protectors and visible resin shock absorbers. For the band and the center case, Casio is using bio-based resins as an alternative to traditional plastics.
Internally, the series runs on Casio’s updated TOUGH MVT.2 analog movement, which introduces two specific hardware safeguards. The first is a shock detection system. If the watch takes a hard hit that misaligns the physical hands, the system recognizes the impact and automatically moves the hands back to the correct time.
The second is a magnetic field sensor. If the watch is exposed to a strong magnet that could disrupt the movement, it temporarily pauses the hands to prevent them from shifting out of place, resuming normal operation once the magnetic interference is gone.
The dial is matte black and features a micro-textured surface to reduce glare, sitting underneath a sapphire crystal. To power the watch, Casio uses inset solar panels located inside the smaller sub-dials. This setup draws enough ambient light to keep the internal battery charged without requiring the entire main dial to be translucent.
For connectivity, the GWR-B3000 includes Bluetooth to sync with the Casio Watches mobile app. This enables automatic time adjustments, easy swapping between 38 time zones, and a flight log tool that records your current time and location on a map when you press a physical button on the watch. It also retains Casio’s standard Multi-Band 6 radio control for daily time calibration if you prefer not to pair it with a phone.

The base model, the GWR-B3000-1A, is priced at $880. The GWR-B3000A-2A includes a blue ion-plated bezel for $990, and the top-end GWR-B3000B-8A features a gray ion-plated bezel for $1,100.
Luxury device customizer Caviar has announced a new line of modified Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra smartphones. The Legends collection introduces three new designs based on characters from Scarface, The Godfather, and Joker.
As is typical for Caviar’s releases, these are heavily modified versions of Samsung‘s standard hardware, featuring precious metals and high price tags. The collection is launching alongside Samsung’s standard global rollout for the new foldables.
Design Details
The back panels of these devices have been replaced with custom artwork made using hot cloisonné enamel. This is a traditional jewelry technique where colored enamel is applied by hand within wire frames. The frames, device edges, and camera bumps are plated in 24-karat gold. Caviar is limiting production to exactly 19 units per design.
The first two models are built on the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 chassis. The Scarface edition features a portrait of Tony Montana in a white suit, set against a gold guilloché pattern. It starts at $12,560 for the base 256GB storage configuration.
The Godfather variant shares the same $12,560 starting price point and uses a similar 24-karat gold frame. Its back panel depicts Don Vito Corleone in a tuxedo, incorporating a small red rose and the film’s marionette strings motif into the metalwork.
The third model in the lineup is based on the larger Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. Focused on the Joker, the back panel uses purple, green, and burgundy enamel to show the character holding a hand of playing cards. The background features a radiating geometric pattern. This model is slightly more expensive, starting at $12,990 for the 256GB version.
All devices in the Legends collection ship in custom packaging that includes a 24-karat gold-plated key, which Caviar includes as a branding element. The company is currently accepting orders for the devices.
Timex has announced the Deepwater Meridian 200 Automatic GMT, a new mechanical watch that combines a dive-style build with dual-time zone tracking. It is available now for $549 and comes in three dial colors: black, blue, and green.
Design Details
The watch runs on a 21-jewel automatic movement. Because it is mechanical and self-winding, it doesn’t use a battery; it winds itself using the natural movement of the wearer’s wrist. The main functional addition here over a standard three-hand watch is the GMT complication.
It features a dedicated 24-hour hand that works alongside a two-tone ceramic bidirectional rotating bezel. This setup allows you to read a second time zone, which is a standard method for tracking local and home time simultaneously when traveling.
The case is made of stainless steel with a mix of brushed and polished finishes. It measures 42mm in diameter, 48.8mm lug-to-lug, and 14.5mm thick. The dial is protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, which includes a magnifier over the date window at the 3 o’clock position. For visibility in the dark, Timex applied Super-Luminova to the hands and hour markers.
As the name implies, the Deepwater Meridian 200 is built for water resistance up to 200 meters. To achieve this rating, the watch uses a screw-down case back and a screw-down crown. The crown is also flanked by crown guards to prevent it from snagging or taking direct impacts. These seals make the watch capable of handling swimming, snorkeling, and recreational scuba diving.
The watch comes on a 20mm five-link stainless steel bracelet. It secures with a butterfly deployant clasp, which folds in on both sides so that the closure sits flush against the wrist. The bracelet also features quick-release spring bars, allowing you to remove it and swap in different straps without needing a specialized spring bar tool.

Asus has launched the Asus Pad (T3201) in India, re-entering the consumer tablet segment. The device was first unveiled last month.

The Asus Pad (T3201) is available in Pure White. The 8GB + 128GB variant is priced at Rs. 45,990, while the 8GB + 256GB model costs Rs. 49,990.
It will be available starting August 6, 2026, through Flipkart, the Asus eShop, Asus and ROG Stores, Reliance Digital, and other authorized retail partners across India.

Acemagic has announced the F9A, a compact mini PC designed to deliver workstation‑level performance in a 2‑liter chassis. It is powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor and aimed at AI developers, video editors, and professionals who need strong compute performance without dedicating space to a full desktop tower.
Acemagic F9A Specifications
The system runs on a 16‑core, 32‑thread Zen 5 processor with RDNA 3.5 integrated graphics. It also includes AMD’s XDNA 2 NPU, rated at up to 50 TOPS, contributing to a claimed 126 TOPS of total system compute. Acemagic says the configuration is capable of running large language models with up to 120 billion parameters locally, depending on workload and memory allocation.
The mini PC supports up to 128GB of LPDDR5X‑8000 unified memory. For storage, it includes two PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slots for NVMe SSDs, giving users flexibility for high‑speed storage setups.
In terms of connectivity, it features a well‑rounded selection of modern ports designed for both performance and flexibility. The F9A includes an OCuLink PCIe 4.0 x4 interface for high‑bandwidth expansion, alongside two 40Gbps USB4 ports that can handle external storage, displays, and other high‑speed peripherals.
There’s also an HDMI 2.1 port, dual 2.5GbE Ethernet for faster wired networking, three 10Gbps USB‑A ports for legacy and high‑speed accessories, an SD 4.0 card reader, and a 3.5mm audio jack. On the wireless side, it supports Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Acemagic says the system can drive up to four independent 8K displays through its dual USB4 connections, making it suitable for multi‑monitor setups.
Physically, the F9A features a compact 158 x 158 x 85 mm CNC-machined aluminum unibody chassis available in silver or space gray. It also includes a customizable RGB light ring and a dedicated Copilot button for quick access to Windows AI features.
For remote work and conferencing, the mini PC includes a four‑microphone far‑field array with AI noise reduction and beamforming, along with dual 2W built‑in speakers.
Acemagic has not yet announced pricing or release timing.

A tipster has gone back over the Vivo X500 Pro’s specifications, reiterating key specs that had already leaked earlier this year. The repeat post lines up closely with what we reported in early July, and it adds a few new build details on top.
According to the source, the Vivo X500 Pro will use a 2nm MediaTek Dimensity 9600-series processor. The phone is said to carry a 6.37-inch flat display with a 1.5K+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, built on LTPO technology.

For those unaware, the X500 Pro is a compact model in the upcoming line, expected to sit between the standard X500 and the larger Pro Max.

The tipster adds that the engineering sample has been in testing with an OLED screen from BOE, and that the panel uses a new-generation light-emitting material.
On the build side, the phone reportedly uses LIPO packaging with ultra-narrow, equal-width bezels on all four sides. Meanwhile, the rear camera module is said to use a centered, circular layout, a design language Vivo has used on past X-series phones.
Moreover, we reported back in May that the X500 Pro will feature a 50-megapixel LOFIC main sensor and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, while a later leak added a 64-megapixel, 85mm periscope telephoto lens to the mix.
None of these details are officially confirmed, and Vivo has not commented on the specifications. The X500 series, which is expected to include the X500e, X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max, is rumored to launch in China in September. Global rollout to follow later in the year.
