Last month, along with the Nova 5 series smartphone, China-based Huawei also launched the MediaPad M6 tablet in its home market, which is the first tablet to come powered by the Kirin 980 processor.
Now, the company has started rolling out a new update for the Huawei MediaPad M6 tablet which adds Ark Compiler that improves the system responsiveness and smoothness. It is claimed to be the first multi-language optimization compiler.
Huawei Ark Compiler is the compilation and operation mechanism for the system as well as applications, which was introduced by Huawei to improve the compilation efficiency of Android system. The company had announced the technology for the first time in April 2019 at a domestic launch of the Huawei P30 series.
Along with the Ark compiler, the update for the M6 also optimizes the fingerprint unlock performance, voice assistant capabilities, improved user interface for the third-party applications in the cross-screen state, touch sensitivity and also enhances the stylus experience.
The tablet comes in two models — one with a 10.8-inch display and another with an 8.4-inch model but both of them features a 2K screen resolution. Powered by the octa-core Huawei Kirin 980 CPU, dual NPUs, and a Mali-G76 GPU with GPU Turbo 3.0 support, the devices come in 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB configurations.
As for cameras, we have got a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter. The smaller 8.4-inch tablet is powered by a 6,100mAh battery, while the 10.8-inch variant gets a massive 7,500mAh battery.
According to the reports coming in, citing senior U.S. official, the United States may approve licenses for the companies to resume their business with the Chinese giant Huawei in the coming week or two.
The development comes after the U.S. President Donald Trump announced during the press conference of the G20 summit that the US companies can continue doing business with Huawei as long as the equipment does not threaten the national security.
Huawei, which is the world’s largest telecommunications equipment maker, was added to the “Entity List” by the U.S. Commerce Department in May this year, effectively prohibiting US-based companies from supplying it with new American-made goods and services unless they obtain a special license, which was will likely be denied.
The reversal of the decision to ban Huawei by Trump and the rapid implementation of the same by the Commerce Department suggests that the United States is bowing down to the lobbying of the chipset industry and the pressure from the Chinese politics.
As per the report, out of $70 billion that Huawei spent on buying components in the year 2018, around $11 billion went to U.S. firms including Qualcomm, Intel, and Micron Technology. Even though there’s a ban on Huawei, U.S. companies can currently sell goods in order to maintain existing networks and provide software updates to existing Huawei handsets.
However, they are prohibited from making new sales of American-made goods and services. A Huawei spokesman said “the Entity list restrictions should be removed altogether, rather than have temporary licenses applied for US vendors. Huawei has been found guilty of no relevant wrongdoing and represents no cybersecurity risk to any country so the restrictions are unmerited.”
Officials of the United States have clarified that the new policy will allow sales of non-sensitive technology readily available abroad if national security is protected. But they have also reiterated that Huawei remains on the entity list, and relief would be temporary. It still remains unclear which products will be granted licenses.
Apart from this, the United States has pending cases against the Chinese giant for allegedly stealing American intellectual property and violating Iran sanctions. The U.S. has also launched a lobbying effort to persuade its allies to keep Huawei out of next-generation 5G telecommunications infrastructure.
The Honor 9X series will be announced on July 23 as the successor for Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max phones from last year. The Honor 9X series is rumored to arrive as the first Honor phones with Kirin 810 chipset. This morning, Honor took to Weibo to share the first official image that showcases the rear design of the smartphone.
Rumors have it that the Honor 9X Pro has a triple camera setup on its rear. Hence, the image shared by the company belongs to the Honor 9X Pro handset. The smartphone features a blue-red gradient color rear that has an eye-catching ‘X’ pattern at the center. The rear side of the phone does not feature a fingerprint scanner. It is speculated that the Honor 9X series could be featuring a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
The Honor 9X and 9X Pro phones will be arriving as worthy competitors for the Xiaomi Redmi K20and Redmi K20 Pro. The Redmi K20 series feature attractive gradient colored rear and notch-less design with pop-up selfie camera. Recent reports have also revealed that the Honor 9X and 9X Pro will be equipped with a notch-less display and a pop-up selfie camera.
Recent reports have revealed that the Honor 9X and 9X Pro may come with some identical specs. However, one major difference between the two handsets could be that the Honor 9X will have a dual camera setup on its back. A recent leak had claimed that the Honor 9X and 9X Pro are both equipped with 6.59-inch display that supports 19.5:9 aspect ratio and full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. Following is a leaked image of the Honor 9X’s front panel that was shared by a Chinese tipster yesterday.
Both phones may come with 20-megapixel front-facing camera. These phones could be packed with a 4,000mAh battery. The Pro model may support 22.5W fast charging whereas the 9X may only include 10W rapid charging. The EMUI 9.1 based Android 9 Pie OS runs on the device. Some of the other rumored features of the Honor 9X series smartphones include 3.5mm audio jack and storage slot. As of this writing, there is no information available on the pricing of the phone.

Huawei’s sub-brand – Honor is gearing up for the launch of some new smartphones in the coming few days. To be precise, the Honor 9X series and the successor to Honor 8X is all set to become official on July 23. While that’s certain to happen, Honor has in between applied for certain trademarks for the Honor 9X successors or what we can call as the future Honor X-Series.
As per the source, Honor filed a trademark application with various intellectual property organizations around the globe for its future X-series smartphones. The trademark filing includes – Honor 10X, 20X, 30X, 40X and 50X. It’s interesting to note that the application for the Honor 10X was submitted along with the Honor 9X trademark in 2016, while the rest of the trademarks were submitted in 2018. So, it’s an indication of the future X Series to have the prefix a multiple of 10.
All these trademark applications are filed to safeguard the names and it not necessary that Honor will launch all these devices soon.
However, the Honor 9X is expected to equip the Kirin 810 SoC which is based on the 7nm process. The SoC has two high-performance cores based on Cortex-A76 clocked at 2.27GHz and six high-efficiency cores with Cortex-A55 at 1.88GHz. According to previous information, the Honor 9X will come with a pop-up selfie camera. On the back, there ought to be a dual camera aligned vertically in the upper left corner.
That being said, with the US-China trade war-related issues getting settled lately, it’s Huawei which is going to breath fresh air. The Chinese mammoth is back in its business with the aim to dethrone Samsung from its long-held crown as the leading global smartphone vendor. And, all these Honor X-series devices will help the firm to gain more market share globally.
In late March, Vivo announced the Vivo S1 in China as the first of a new series. The phone is now heading to launch in India. However, while it shares the same name as the Chinese model, leaked live photos show it has a different design. The complete specifications of the phone have also leaked and it reveals the phone will come with a brand new chipset from MediaTek called the Helio P65.
The Vivo S1 Indian Edition will not have a notch-free display like its Chinese sibling of the same name. It also doesn’t have a pop-up selfie camera. Instead, there is a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera.
While it does have triple cameras too, the sensors are different and the design also differs. The length of the housing is shorter, the sensors are closer to each other and not separated by the LED flash which itself has a different shape. The Indian variant also has an in-display fingerprint scanner which Vivo calls “Screen Touch ID”.
Coming to the specs, the Indian model has a smaller 6.38-inch display but an AMOLED panel and not LCD. It swaps the Helio P70 for a new Helio P65. The processor is said to have 8 cores – 2x A75 at 2.0GHz + 6x A55 cores; which should make it more powerful than the Helio P70 which has 4 x A73 cores and 4 X A53 cores. It will be paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

There is a 32MP camera in front for selfies while the rear cameras are made up of a 16MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. The Vivo S1 will also have a much bigger 4500mAh battery with Vivo’s Dual Engine fast charging technology. The phone will run Android 9 Pie out of the box.
Photos of the phone show a blue-purple gradient finish. In one of the images, we see there is a sky blue variant on a poster. The phone will come in a white box with a large “S” inscribed on it and is rumored to have a price tag of about INR 20,000 (~$290). The launch date is reported as early August.
HTC has become the name of the past since it is almost done with smartphone business. The company’s primary revenue now comes from its VR business, which is growing rapidly. But that does not mean it has entirely done away with smartphones as some details have emerged about the upcoming Wildfire E.
According to a Russian retailer, HTC will be reviving the classic Wildfire brand with the forthcoming Wildfire E. The phone will be a budget device going by the specifications detailed by the retailer. It will be powered by Unisoc (Spreadtrum) SC9863 Octa-core processor having a cluster of 4 Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.6GHz and another 4 Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.2GHz. On the other hand, the graphics will be carried out by the PowerVR IMG8322-accelerated GPU. As for memory, the phone will feature 2GB RAM and 32GB ROM.
On the front, it will sport a compact 5.45-inches HD+ IPS LCD with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The front will also house a 5MP camera for selfies and video calls. Whereas at the back, the HTC Wildfire E will house a dual camera array which will include a 13MP primary snapper and a 2MP secondary sensor. Other features of the phone include Bluetooth 4.2, 2.4GHz WiFi, MicroUSB port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Last but not least, it will run Android Pie out of the box backed a 3,000 mAh battery.
The information regarding the launch of HTC Wildfire E is still not known, as like its design, and price details. But it is confirmed to arrive in blue color for now.
Google keeps experimenting with new products and services. The search giant recently retired Google+ social network after several years. However, Google is not holding itself back after failing with Google+, and it is bringing another social network to existence. Yes, Google is launching another social network known with the name of Shoelace. It is Google’s fifth attempt to succeed in social space after the collapse of Google Buzz, Google Friend Connect, and Google+.
After the Shutdown of Google+ in April, Google is once again back to the square one with the Shoelace. The name itself speaks about its features to ‘tie people together.’ It is based on activities and events happening nearby in and around your city. It is aimed to ‘Supercharge your social life’ with the ability to do things with others who share the same interests. It gives a platform for users having common interests.
The users can organize and participate in the events and activities, called “Loops.” The hyperlocal app is somewhat similar to Facebook Events. It is a boon for those who have recently moved to a new city or looking to explore nearby people.
It is a product of Google’s workshop – Area 120, which aims to facilitate real-world connections.
Unlike other social networks, Google is launching it on a smaller scale. Shoelace is limited for testing in New York. The developers are planning for its launch in other cities, but there’s no information present right now.
The new network is open on an invite-only basis. It has even partnered with few communities from where you can get codes. Moreover, the users can fill this form to get the early access code. The Shoelace app is available both on the Android and iOS devices.
After launching in India and selling out in less than a minute in its first flash sale, the Redmi 7A will be heading to Europe. The launch date is not yet confirmed but it must be really close as a retail store has listed the phone on its site already.
Screenshots of the listing from the unnamed store show the entry-level smartphone will be priced at €99 for the base model which has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. If you want the variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, you will have to shell out €119. From the images, the Redmi 7A will be available in blue and black.
[envira-gallery id=”264056″]
The phone has a 5.45-inch 720 x 1440 screen with moderately thick bezels. For a phone with that price, it isn’t unexpected. There is a Snapdragon 439 processor under the hood and an Adreno 505 GPU. Irrespective of the variant you purchase, you will be able to expand the storage via a dedicated MicroSD card slot.
There is a 5MP camera above the display while a 13MP camera sits on the rear. There is no fingerprint scanner, so the good old pattern, PIN, or password is your best bet to keeping your phone safe. The Redmi 7A runs Android 9 Pie with MIUI on top and packs a 4000mAh battery. It has an audio jack, FM radio, and charges via a MicroUSB port.

Smartphone manufacturers are releasing so many mid-rangers that it became incredibly hard for the final consumers to make the right choice at the best price. That is why we always make specs comparison between the most interesting devices for both the best flagships and value for money phone. Today’s comparison regards the second category of devices and it contains three amazing affordable phones launched in the recent period. The first is Xiaomi Mi CC9e, the most affordable handset from the new Xiaomi line-up. The second is the higher-end model of the entry-level M series by Samsung: the Galaxy M40. The last is Huawei Nova 5i, also known in the global market as the Huawei P20 Lite (2019).

Design
If you bring a unit of these devices to home, you will get a very well-designed handset. Both Samsung Galaxy M40 and Huawei Nova 5i have punch-hole displays, so their bezels are very narrow and there is no need for a notch. Despite Xiaomi Mi CC9e has a more outdated waterdrop display, I prefer this device instead of its punch-hole rivals because of its better rear side and build quality. It has a stunning glass back which creates suggestive light effects depending on the reflection, and it even comes with a solid aluminum frame. Both Samsung Galaxy M40 and Huawei Nova 5i come with plastic in their design, so worse aesthetics and a cheaper build. Xiaomi Mi CC9e also has the most compact body.
Display
Unlike most of the other devices by Samsung, the Galaxy M40 is not equipped with a stunning display. Xiaomi Mi CC9e is disappointing as well because despite it comes with an AMOLED panel, it has a lower 720p resolution than its opponents. And it even comes with a smaller display. Huawei Nova 5i is my favorite one as it sports a better IPS display with high DCI-P3 coverage and a Full HD+ resolution (1080p). So it is better at detail if compared to the Mi CC9e and better at color reproduction than the Galaxy M40.
Specs & Software
While Samsung Galaxy M40 loses both the design and display comparisons, it is definitely the device with the most powerful chipset, so it is potentially faster and more reactive. On the other hand, Huawei Nova 5i has more RAM (up to 8 GB) in its most expensive configuration, but I personally prefer a better SoC for higher overall performances instead of a better multi-tasking experience. Even the Xiaomi Mi CC9e has a better chipset than the Huawei Nova 5i, but it is a slightly less powerful processor than the Snapdragon 675 found on the Galaxy M40, with a worse GPU too. In each case, you get a highly-customized Android fork based on Android 9 Pie out of the box.
Camera
The camera department is definitely the main focus of the Xiaomi Mi CC9e and it is not a case if it wins most of the camera comparisons on its price range, including this one. It rocks a main 48 MP sensor, an ultrawide lens, a 2 MP depth sensor and even an amazing 32 MP front camera with awesome AI algorithms for selfie enhancing. Huawei Nova 5i comes right after with a quad camera including a dedicated macro camera.
Battery
Due to its higher battery capacity, its efficient HD+ display and its smaller size, Xiaomi Mi CC9e is also the winner of the battery comparison. Huawei Nova 5i takes the second spot in the ranking.
Price
Xiaomi Mi CC9e starts from €170/$190, Samsung Galaxy M40 has a €200/$225 starting price and Huawei Nova 5i starts from €260/$295. If we consider the overall specifications, Huawei Nova 5i looks more promising for most of the potential customers due to its better display, big battery, and good cameras. But Xiaomi Mi CC9e has an even better camera, a better builds quality, a more compact size (as well as a smaller display) and even longer battery life, so it may look like the best budget phone for particular niches (especially compact phones lovers and camera phones lovers). Which one would you pick?
It is raining Mi A3 news today. First, we covered renders and specs of the phone and then it was followed by unboxing photos. The latest is a launch date for the phone in the central European country of Poland.
A poster has surfaced on the web that reveals the Mi A3 will be launching in Poland on July 25. We think this is where the phone will make its first appearance before heading to other markets and this is because the date is sort of exactly a year after the Mi A2 launched. The Mi A2 was announced on July 24 in Spain and now Xiaomi is taking the launch of its successor to Poland a day after its 1 year anniversary.
The image says the Mi A3 will launch in Warsaw and the event will begin at 1600hrs. Those who can’t make it should be able to watch a livestream of the launch.
The Mi A3 will have an AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint, a Snapdragon 665 processor, 4GB of RAM, up to 128GB of storage, a 4030mAh battery, triple rear cameras, and run vanilla Android.
We expect the Mi A3 will launch alongside a less-powerful Mi A3 Lite which will also cost less.
If you have been looking forward to the Mi A3 having a Snapdragon 730 or Snapdragon 710, you sure will be heartbroken by this news. As the title says, we now have confirmation that the Mi A3 will have a Snapdragon 665 processor just like the Xiaomi CC9e. Exclusive unboxing photos of the phone were posted by GsmArena and they show what the retail box of the phone looks like as well as its contents.

The Xiaomi Mi A3 will come in a white box which has images of the phone on the front part of the box. The packaging confirms the phone will come in black, blue and white. There is “Mi A3” written in bold white font in front too.
The unit in the box is black and alongside the phone is a USB Type-C cable and a charger, both in white. The peelable sticker on the front of the phone lists some of the specs.
The Mi A3 will have a 48MP triple rear camera system which includes an ultra-wide-angle camera. It will have a 4030mAh “high-capacity battery”, and a “fast in-screen fingerprint sensor”. The last specification listed is the processor which is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor.
Based on these specs, one can say the Mi A3 is actually the Xiaomi CC9e with an FHD+ AMOLED display as the CC9e has an HD+ AMOLED screen.
It is understandable why the Mi A3 isn’t rocking a Snapdragon 730 processor. If it does, it will most likely affect the sales of the Mi 9T/Redmi K20 which has a Snapdragon 730 chipset. Xiaomi will most likely launch the Mi A3 in the same markets where the Mi 9T/Redmi K20 is sold (except for China), and with lots of folks preferring stock Android to MIUI, that might be a recipe for disaster.
The advantage of having a less-powerful chipset is that the phone should sell for less too. It has been reported that the starting price may be lower than that of the Mi A2.

Based on this new leak, the Mi A3’s launch is definitely around the corner and it might launch in less than two weeks. Xiaomi has already begun teasing the phone. It released another set of teasers today which show the phone will have triple rear cameras. And the hashtag #PhotoWithoutLimits confirm camera performance is a primary focus.
Aside from the processor, the Mi A3 is an upgrade over its predecessor in every other way. It has a better display, a bigger battery, brings back the audio jack, and has better cameras. It may also cost less.

Just around the time the Xiaomi CC9 and Xiaomi CC9e phones were about to launch, news of Xiaomi’s next-generation Android One phones also surfaced again. The reason for this is because of evidence showing that the CC9 and CC9e might also launch as the Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite in other markets began to show up. Now renders of the Mi A3 including its specs have surfaced.
The official renders and specs show that the Mi A3 will come in three color variants – black, blue, and white; the same ones as the Xiaomi CC9.
Since this is the same device as the CC9, we don’t need to go over the design again, but it is important to mention that it is nice to have the audio jack return following its removal in the Mi A2. There is also the new Android One logo at the bottom left of the phone.
According to Winfuture.de, the source of the images and leaked specs, the Mi A3 will come with a 6.0-inch 2240 x 1080 Super AMOLED Dot Drop display with a fingerprint scanner underneath. The notch is home to a 32MP selfie camera.
On the back, the phone has three cameras – a 48MP f/1.79 primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. Coming to the processor, the Mi A3 differs from the CC9 as it swaps the Snapdragon 710 processor for the Snapdragon 665 chipset. This is the same info our source told us yesterday which means the Mi A3 is sort of the CC9 with the CC9e’s chipset. Nevertheless, Roland Quandt does advise that he isn’t 100% sure of the specs, so better to take it with a grain of salt.
Xiaomi Mi A3 official pics w/o watermark. Enjoy. PS: I am not 100% on the specs as my info is contradicting in some ways. SD665 but 1080p is not a CC9 and not a CC9e either, so please take this wiht a grain of salt. Pics are official though. More: https://t.co/6uWOokV3Lbpic.twitter.com/BSqqAQW9z4
The Mi A3 will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage and will also have support for storage expansion which Xiaomi once again removed from the Mi A2. Its battery capacity is 4000mAh and there is support for fast charging, though the exact type isn’t mentioned. The phone will have a USB type-C port and an IR blaster for controlling your electronic appliances. It will run Android 9 Pie out of the box.

The phone is scheduled to launch soon and Winfuture reports it will be available in Germany too. It should also be available in other parts of Europe including the UK.
It looks like Xiaomi is bent on releasing a new smartphone every 15 days. It can be recalled that the Chinese electronics giant launched the CC9 series last week in China, while its popular Redmi sub-brand is slated to release the K20 series in India next week.
The equally anticipated Xiaomi Mi A3 has gone up for sale after floating around the rumor mill for quite some time and making several appearances online in the form of leaks. The black-tinted Xiaomi Mi A3 model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage capacity is available for $229 on Giztop.
An absolute steal at this price, the Xiaomi Mi A3 boasts an impressive array of features and top-end specs. The phone sports an eye-catching 6.088-inch AMOLED waterdrop notch screen HD+ displays with a high resolution of 1560x 720 pixels. Moreover, it comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top for added protection.
The Mi A3 packs a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 Octa-core processor along with a highly competent Adreno 610 GPU, under the hood. Xiaomi incorporates Game Turbo, which can predict gaming scenes to allocate appropriate resources in order to avoid lag.
The dual-SIM phone comes with 4GB/6GB of LP-DDR4X RAM and offers hearty eMMC 5.1 storage options of 64GB and 128GB. On the photography front, the Xiaomi Mi A3 houses a tripe camera setup comprising 48MP+8MP+2MP at the back and a 32MP AI front camera for selfies and video calling.
Furthermore, the device runs MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie operating system and draws its juices from a robust 4030mAh battery that supports 10W FAST charging. On top of that, it has multi-functional NFC and an IR blaster.
