Realme 15 Pro’s chipset gets confirmed; and it handles ‘AI Edit Genie’

Realme is preparing to unveil its new Realme 15 series later this month, and the spotlight is already on the 15 Pro. The official launch is scheduled for July 24, 2025.

Powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 4

Realme has confirmed that the 15 Pro 5G will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 — a 4nm chip with a 1+3+4 core architecture and a top clock speed of 2.8GHz. According to Qualcomm, this chipset offers a significant boost over its predecessor, with 27% faster CPU performance and 30% better GPU performance.

To enhance the gaming experience, Realme is introducing GT Boost 3.0, which enables stable 120FPS gameplay in popular titles like BGMI. It’s paired with AI Gaming Coach 2.0 for real-time gameplay advice and AI Ultra Touch Control, which improves touch sensitivity in fast-paced action zones.

On the software side, both the Realme 15 and 15 Pro will include a new AI Edit Genie — a voice-enabled photo editing tool that can perform tasks like cropping and color correction just by voice command.

In terms of hardware, it’s expected to feature a 50MP periscope telephoto alongside a 50MP main camera, a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a large 6,000mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging.

The Realme 15 Pro is confirmed to have at least three finishes — Flowing Silver, Velvet Green, and Silk Purple — while the standard Realme 15 will be offered in Silk Pink, Flowing Silver, and Velvet Green.

With its new AI features, upgraded performance, and bold design, the Realme 15 Pro could appear as an appealing option to mid-range buyers.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 is Official: Samsung’s Thinnest Fold Yet with Snapdragon 8 Elite

Samsung has officially taken the wraps off the highly anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 7, its thinnest and most refined foldable smartphone to date. The new foldable not only gets a design overhaul with a slimmer, lighter build but also packs the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset for top-tier performance. From improved durability, a better hinge mechanism, and upgraded cameras, here’s everything you need to know about the brand’s latest flagship foldable.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7

1. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Design & Displays

The South Korean tech giant is finally catching up on the foldable design elements with Chinese competitors since the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is a lot thinner now. To recall, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 measured 5.6mm when unfolded and 12.1mm when folded. But now, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 measures just 4.2mm unfolded and 8.9mm when folded. For a quick comparison, Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S25 Ultra weighs 218 grams, while the Z Fold 7 is lighter at 215 grams. Samsung has also made improvements to the hinge with what it calls the Armor Flexhinge along with an IP48 rating for water and dust resistance.

The cover display is a 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 21:9 aspect ratio, FHD+ resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 for protection, and a 120Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, the primary screen is a gorgeous 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a QXGA+ resolution (2184 x 1968) and 120Hz refresh rate. A notable downgrade this year is the removal of the Galaxy S Pen from the Galaxy Z Fold 7. But this allowed the brand to make the UTG (Ultra-Thin-Glass) slightly thicker.

2. Performance

Samsung is bringing top tier performance on the Z Fold 7, which is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy. This chip is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. Unfortunately, there is no upgrade to the battery size or charging speeds. So we still get a 4,400mAh cell with 25W wired fast charging and wireless charging support (similar to its predecessor). While the internal hasn’t received a massive upgrade, the company has worked on improving the software experience, along with Galaxy AI and improved Gemini integration.

3. Camera

One leap in the new Galaxy Z Fold 7 is a true flagship grade camera. The rear brings the same 200MP camera (1/1.3-inch sensor, F1.7 aperture), which is found on the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S25 Edge. Although, the other two cameras leave a lot to be desired since they consist of a 12MP ultra wide angle lens and a 10MP telephoto shooter with 3x optical zoom. The under-display selfie camera on the primary screen is gone. Now both the main and cover screen have a punch hole cutout for the 10MP front facing shooter.

4. Pricing and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 has just been announced in three color options, namely Silver Shadow, Navy, and Pink. It is currently listed for pre-orders with first sale of the flagship foldable set to kick off on 25th July 2025. So here are its pricing:

Global Pricing

Notably, the 512GB and 1TB models are available for pre-orders right now for 1,999 US Dollars and 2,269 US Dollars, respectively.

Indian Pricing

  • 12GB + 256GB – 174,999 INR (roughly 2,041 US Dollars)
  • 12GB + 512GB – 186,999 INR (roughly 2,181 US Dollars)
  • 16GB + 1TB – 210,999 INR (roughly 2,461 US Dollars)

Baidu and CAR Inc. Launch First Public Autonomous Car Rental Service in China

Baidu’s autonomous driving unit Apollo and leading car rental company CAR Inc. have officially launched the world’s first autonomous car rental service for the general public. The service went live on Tuesday in Wuhan, China, following the announcement of the partnership between the two companies in May.

Baidu and CAR Inc Launch First Public Autonomous Car Rental Service

The new service allows users to rent fully driverless vehicles without any human assistance. It runs on Baidu Apollo’s Level 4 autonomous driving platform and integrates with CAR Inc.’s national rental network. This marks the first time in China that a car rental service combines fully autonomous driving with a self-service rental process.

Baidu and CAR Inc Launch First Public Autonomous Car Rental Service

Users can access the service through the CAR Inc. mobile app. The booking process includes selecting a time and pickup location. The system then dispatches the nearest available autonomous vehicle. After ID verification, the vehicle drives itself to the pickup spot and unlocks automatically. Once the ride is complete, the car navigates on its own to the drop-off location.

The current fleet features custom-built Apollo vehicles that seat up to three passengers. The vehicles use Baidu’s driverless technology and are designed for short to mid-term rentals. The service supports bookings from four hours up to seven days and follows CAR Inc.’s existing pricing structure.

During the rental period, users can set their own routes within the designated operational area. The service targets a wide range of use cases, including daily commuting, weekend travel, and tourism.

Baidu and CAR Inc Launch First Public Autonomous Car Rental Service

Baidu and CAR Inc. said the service aims to support users who may not drive, such as elderly individuals, tourists, and people with disabilities. The companies plan to expand the service to more regions in China as part of a broader strategy to modernize the country’s car rental industry. Analysts expect the Chinese rental market to surpass 300 billion yuan (approximately $41 billion) by 2030.

As autonomous technology continues to mature and regulatory frameworks adapt, this pioneering service is set to transform the way people perceive and utilize personal transportation, potentially ushering in an era where vehicle ownership becomes less of a necessity and mobility-as-a-service becomes the norm.

In related news, the Lucid Air Grand Touring has set a new world record with a 1,205 km range on a single charge. Meanwhile, Geely has launched the Galaxy A7 hybrid sedan, boasting a fuel efficiency of 2.67L/100km, a total range of 2,100 km, and 21 aerodynamic enhancements.

Apple iPhone 17e expected in spring 2026, continuing the annual budget iPhone cycle

After launching the iPhone 16e earlier this year, Apple appears to be sticking to a yearly refresh cycle for its more affordable smartphone line. According to a new report, the iPhone 17e is already in the pipeline and is expected to arrive sometime in spring 2026.

iPhone 16e

A report from South Korea’s The Elec—a reliable source for supply chain developments—claims the iPhone 17e will launch between March and May next year. This lines up with Apple’s strategy of moving away from the sporadic iPhone SE releases (2016, 2020, and 2022) and toward something more consistent, akin to Google’s annual Pixel “a” series refreshes.

No major display changes — but other upgrades expected

The iPhone 17e is expected to retain the same 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display used in the iPhone 16e, featuring a 1170×2532 resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, and up to 1200 nits of peak brightness. This panel originally debuted with the iPhone 14, and multiple suppliers—including BOE, Samsung Display, and LG Display—are said to be involved again, with BOE reportedly supplying the largest share. While the display isn’t changing, improvements are likely coming elsewhere.

The company wants to maintain a distinct separation between the budget-friendly “e” line and its flagship models like the iPhone 17 Pro, to avoid overlap or cannibalization. The iPhone 17e is expected to retain its $599 price tag, though ongoing US tariffs could affect final pricing. With trial production already underway, rumors suggest a May 2026 release is likely.

The iPhone 17e will likely go head-to-head with Samsung’s rumored Galaxy S25 FE, which could feature the Exynos 2400e. Apple’s approach also focuses on cost-effective component reuse to keep pricing competitive.

OnePlus 13 vs Vivo X200 FE: Which Premium Phone Is Right for You?

OnePlus 13 and Vivo X200 FE represent two of the most compelling Android flagships in their price segments, offering cutting-edge hardware and refined software experiences. This comparison matters because both phones pack premium features like powerful chipsets, high-quality displays, and advanced cameras, yet they target different user needs. One focuses on raw performance and pro-level features, while the other emphasizes efficiency, compact design, and value.

1. Design and Display

OnePlus 13
OnePlus 13

Build and Feel:
Both phones offer premium builds, but the OnePlus 13 goes a step further with options like eco-leather or glass back paired with an aluminum frame. The ceramic guard on the front adds additional scratch protection, and IP68/IP69 ratings are present on both. However, OnePlus includes more rugged resistance certification, making it feel slightly more durable in extreme use. Vivo X200 FE is lighter and more compact, ideal for users wanting a one-hand friendly device, but lacks the robust, premium finish flexibility of the OnePlus.

Display Quality:
The OnePlus 13 features a larger 6.82-inch LTPO 4.1 AMOLED display with 1440p resolution and Dolby Vision, peaking at 4500 nits. It supports advanced standards like Ultra HDR and HDR Vivid, making it better for multimedia consumption and HDR streaming. Vivo X200 FE’s 6.31-inch panel is slightly smaller and uses LTPO AMOLED with comparable 2160Hz PWM and 4500–5000 nits brightness, but with lower resolution (1216p). While it’s still excellent, the OnePlus display delivers sharper details and broader HDR support.

Verdict:
The OnePlus 13 leads in build flexibility and display performance, offering a more immersive and premium viewing experience. Vivo X200 FE impresses with compact ergonomics, but OnePlus delivers more in both ruggedness and screen technology.

2. Specifications

VIVO X200 FE
Vivo X200 FE

Performance:
The OnePlus 13 is powered by the cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite, featuring high-performance Oryon V2 cores and Adreno 830 GPU. It’s designed for intensive tasks, gaming, and long-term performance with UFS 4.0 storage. The Vivo X200 FE, with its Dimensity 9300+ and Immortalis-G720 GPU, also performs excellently, especially in multi-core tasks and AI-heavy operations. However, OnePlus’s more powerful single-core speeds and superior GPU give it an edge in gaming and sustained performance. It’s also better optimized for future Android updates through OxygenOS.

Battery and Charging:
Vivo X200 FE houses a massive 6500 mAh battery (global variant), which is larger than the OnePlus 13’s 6000 mAh unit. While Vivo supports 90W wired charging, OnePlus offers 100W wired, along with 50W wireless and 10W reverse wireless, providing far greater charging flexibility. Despite the slightly smaller capacity, OnePlus charges faster and supports more modern charging modes, enhancing daily convenience.

Verdict:
While Vivo X200 FE has a larger battery, the OnePlus 13 delivers stronger performance and faster, more versatile charging. It’s a better all-around performer, especially for users who need speed and charging flexibility.

3. Camera

OnePlus 13
OnePlus 13

Main and Secondary Lenses:
The OnePlus 13’s triple 50 MP setup includes a wide, periscope telephoto, and ultrawide sensor, each finely tuned with Hasselblad color calibration, laser focus, and Dolby Vision video. It supports 8K video and higher frame-rate 4K/1080p shooting. Vivo also features a 50 MP triple array with Zeiss optics and T* coating, offering excellent clarity and optical quality. However, its ultrawide sensor is only 8 MP, which reduces overall versatility. OnePlus’s hardware delivers more consistent performance across all three lenses and better video capabilities.

Selfie Camera:
Vivo X200 FE boasts a 50 MP front camera with 4K video, making it excellent for sharp selfies and video calls. OnePlus 13 has a 32 MP sensor but includes gyro-EIS and 4K/60fps support. While Vivo wins in raw resolution, OnePlus’s front camera excels in stabilization and dynamic range. However, for social content and detail, Vivo’s 50 MP selfie shooter stands out more.

Verdict:
The OnePlus 13 dominates in rear camera flexibility and pro-grade features, but Vivo X200 FE edges out in selfie quality with a sharper front camera. For rear camera users, OnePlus is the stronger choice.

4. Pricing

VIVO X200 FE
VIVO X200 FE

The OnePlus 13 is priced around $900, while the Vivo X200 FE is available for approximately $700. For $200 less, Vivo delivers competitive performance, excellent battery life, and strong camera specs, making it a high-value offering. However, the OnePlus 13 justifies its premium with better display tech, flagship-grade internals, faster charging, and superior camera versatility. Users seeking maximum value per dollar may lean toward the Vivo X200 FE, but those wanting a no-compromise flagship experience will find the OnePlus 13 well worth the extra cost.

5. Conclusion

VIVO X200 FE
Vivo X200 FE

OnePlus 13 stands out with features like Hasselblad camera tuning, ultra-fast UFS 4.0 storage, 8K video, 50W wireless charging, and advanced ultrasonic fingerprint sensing. It also includes “Circle to Search,” a unique feature aiding user interaction. Vivo X200 FE shines with a compact build, larger battery (globally), and a 50 MP selfie camera, making it more appealing for casual creators or users preferring portability and endurance.

Verdict:
Choose the OnePlus 13 if performance, photography, display excellence, and charging speed are priorities. It’s ideal for flagship seekers. Pick Vivo X200 FE if budget, battery life, and selfie quality are more important; it delivers exceptional value while covering most premium essentials.

Google Pixel 10 prototype reveals periscope telephoto within familiar design

With Google expected to unveil the Pixel 10 lineup this August, an early prototype of the phone has surfaced in a surprising place — a Chinese auction site — revealing some intriguing details ahead of the official announcement. While the design seems familiar, there’s a notable camera upgrade that could make this year’s Pixel stand out.

The device in question appeared on Goofish, a Chinese secondhand marketplace. According to the listing, the prototype is tied to the Engineering Validation Testing (EVT) phase, though a closer look at the photos shows a “DVT” (Design Validation Test) label — which usually indicates an earlier stage in the product development cycle.

One of the biggest takeaways from the leak is confirmation of Google’s upcoming Tensor G5 chip, said to be built on TSMC’s 3nm process. This should offer better efficiency and thermal performance compared to previous models.

Design-wise, the prototype doesn’t stray far from the Pixel 9. It’s still expected to feature a 6.3-inch flat OLED panel with slim bezels and Google’s signature horizontal camera bar on the back. However, the camera system has received a notable upgrade. Instead of the typical dual-lens setup found on base Pixel models, this unit includes three lenses: a 48MP main sensor, a 12MP ultrawide, and — for the first time on a non-Pro Pixel — a 10.8MP (1/3.2″) 5x periscope telephoto sensor. This zoom capability was previously reserved for Pro variants and the Pixel Fold. This addition will surely enhance clarity in long-range zoom shots by a significant margin, at least when there is sufficient light.

Of course, any information from auction listings should be taken with caution. But with Google’s Made by Google event rumored for August 20, where the Pixel Watch 4 is also expected to debut, we won’t have to wait long for confirmation.

If the leak holds true, the Pixel 10 could offer a significant camera upgrade while keeping the clean design Pixel users know well. Whether that’s enough to stand out in a crowded flagship market remains to be seen.

Samsung’s upgraded QLED televisions are engineered to deliver consistent color accuracy and clarity, thanks to a dedicated Quantum Dot Sheet. This layer contains over 3,000 parts per million of quantum dot material, allowing the panel to achieve 100 percent color volume. Enhanced by AI-driven picture optimization, the display adapts frame-by-frame to maintain brightness and contrast, resulting in a rich, distortion-free viewing experience from any angle.

These new QLED models also address concerns around longevity and efficiency. The panel’s performance remains steady across varied lighting conditions, offering a long-lasting and energy-efficient solution for Indian households looking for high-quality smart TVs.

Samsung’s commitment to safety and sustainability is evident in its decision to remove cadmium from all its QLED panels. These TVs are RoHS compliant and SGS certified, highlighting their low environmental impact and long-term safety. The company has led cadmium-free quantum dot innovation for over a decade, making its displays safer for both users and the planet.

Samsung’s latest QLED range is now available across its official website, brand stores, and leading retail outlets nationwide, with prices starting from Rs 59,990 (~$700).

Stable Android 16 is already rolling out to Xiaomi phones

Xiaomi Android 16 stable rollout

Xiaomi has quietly started rolling out the stable version of Android 16, becoming the first non-Google brand to do so. This major upgrade for Xiaomi devices comes with a new version of its custom skin, HyperOS 2.3, which promises smoother performance, refined animations, and better software experience.

As reported by Xiaomi Time, Xiaomi 15 was the first device to get the Android 16-based HyperOS 2.3 update. The rollout isn’t limited to China, but it’s rolling out globally with the software version OS2.0.217.0.WOCMIXM.

Earlier this week, Xiaomi 14T Pro also began receiving the stable Android 16 update globally. In Europe, the update is tagged with the firmware version OS2.0.214.0.WNNEUXM, while international users are getting it as OS2.0.214.0.WNNMIXM.

While the stable build is currently rolling out to just two devices, Xiaomi is actively beta testing Android 16 on a range of devices, including the Redmi K70 series, Poco F7 series, Poco X7 Pro, Xiaomi Mix Flip, Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro, and more. These devices could soon be blessed with a stable release.

How to check for updates on Xiaomi devices?

Xiaomi devices automatically check for new updates and notify users when a new update is available, but it won’t be a bad idea to do it manually, especially when a major update has started rolling out.

To check for updates, go to Settings > About phone and tap the HyperOS logo. If an update is available, you can go ahead and install it. Ensure your device has sufficient storage and at least 30% battery. Note that the updates are typically rolled out in an incremental fashion. So, it may take a few days to reach your device.

What’s new in HyperOS 2.3 and Android 16 for Xiaomi devices?

This major upgrade doesn’t introduce radical UI changes or groundbreaking features, but it brings plenty of under-the-hood improvements aimed at a smoother and more consistent user experience.

The HyperOS 2.3 upgrade enhances animations and transitions, and allows better integration with newer apps. The update should also bring the latest security features from Android 16 to keep your Android device safer from emerging threats.

The memory management has been optimized. Users now have more control over their privacy settings. The update also brings a new version of the Privacy Sandbox, enhancing users’ privacy while supporting a healthy advertising ecosystem.

No official confirmation yet

Oddly, Xiaomi hasn’t made an official announcement regarding the Android 16 rollout. There’s also no confirmed release timeline or complete list of eligible devices. That said, since the stable builds are already rolling out, an announcement should arrive soon.

Stay tuned to our Android 16 section for the latest news and confirmed rollout details as they emerge.
