Vivo T3x

So we are getting a decent performance upgrade with the new chipset. Based on what we know so far, the Vivo T4x model will be equipped with a massive 6,500mAh battery pack, which is an upgrade from the 6,000mAh cell on the T3x. Google Pixel 9a: 5 Major Upgrades Over the Previous Models

Google’s Pixel “a” series is known for its balance of performance, affordability, and a top tier Android experience. With the release of the Pixel 9a being imminent, there is plenty of hype behind Google’s next mid range phone. So now, here are five key ways the Pixel 9a is better than its predecessors.

Google Pixel 9a
Google Pixel 9a

1. Upgraded Performance and Processor

While Google’s Tensor line of chips isn’t known for its raw performance, these processors are built with AI capabilities in mind. The Tensor G4 SoC is a custom built chipset that powers Google AI on Pixel phones. The company made this processor in collaboration with Samsung, leveraging Google’s in-house blocks for AIm security, and photography. Apart from improvements in performance, there is also a 20 percent increase in power efficiency as well.

2. Enhanced Camera Capabilities

The Tensor G4 isn’t the only aspect that is helping improve the photography experience. Rumors have hinted at the Pixel 9a replacing the Pixel 8a’s 64MP main camera with a new 48MP primary sensor. Its predecessor came with a f/1.9 aperture but the 48MP camera on the Pixel 9a may offer a f/1.7 aperture.

This could be paired with a 13MP ultra wide angle lens. Both lenses will be supported by Google’s computational photography tools like Night Sight and Magic Eraser for improved image quality. Meanwhile, the front houses a 13MP Sony IMX712 sensor for selfies and video calls.

3. Improved Battery Life and Charging Technology

Battery performance is a critical factor for mid-range smartphones, and Google appears to be finally making decent upgrades in this aspect on the Pixel 9a. The older Pixel 8a is powered by a 4492mAh battery pack which was decent but lagged behind the competition. This model also offered only 18W wired fast charging.

However, recent leaks have revealed that the Pixel 9a packs a larger 5,100mAh cell that also has a faster 23W wired fast charging. This marks a notable upgrade from previous generations along with efficient power management. So we expect better battery life from this device.

4. Advanced AI Features

Google is known for its software innovations and the Pixel 9a is expected to bring the same features as the flagship Pixel 9 series. So the mid range model may introduce smarter notifications, more intuitive voice assistance, and even better integration with Google’s suite of services. AI features are the latest tools that expand camera functionality and improve everyday interactions.

5. Refined Design

Google’s Pixel “a” series typically with a design language similar to the more expensive siblings, which also seems true for the Pixel 9a. The visor like design is getting reworked with a new pill shaped module for the camera setup on the rear. A recent leak shared renders of the device, showcasing a flat back and four bright color options.

As per the leak, the Honor 400 is expected to feature Qualcomm’s unannounced Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 (SM7750) chipset, an upgrade from the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 used in its predecessor. While the exact specifications of the cameras remain unknown, earlier leaks suggested that the series may house a 7,000mAh battery for extended battery life. The Honor 400 series is expected to debut in May 2025.

Honor GT Pro details emerge

Honor is also said to be working on a GT Pro model, expected to launch by mid-2025. Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s first camera sample released, reveals periscope camera’s low-light photography prowess

Xiaomi is expected to unveil the Xiaomi 15 Ultra by the end of this month. Ahead of the launch, Xiaomi founder, chairman and CEO, Lei Jun, has shared the first camera sample from the device on Weibo, showcasing its capabilities in low-light conditions. The image suggests significant improvements in night photography, particularly with the periscope telephoto lens.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s periscope telephoto lens in action

Xiaomi 15 Ultra camera sample

The shared sample was taken using the 100mm periscope telephoto lens of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and not the primary sensor. Therefore, it appears that it was captured with the rumoured 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HP9 periscope camera.

This sensor, featuring a 1/1.4-inch size, utilizes 4×4 pixel binning technology to enhance low-light performance, allowing detailed and sharp telephoto shots in dark environments. It is also expected to support 4.3x optical zoom and 100x AI-enhanced digital zoom, making it one of the most advanced periscope telephoto cameras in the industry.

Lei Jun previously stated that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra would bring groundbreaking advancements in night photography, suggesting that its periscope camera may set a new standard in low-light telephoto imaging. The sample image appears to confirm these claims, with impressive clarity, controlled noise levels, and well-balanced highlights.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s specifications and price (expected)

Beyond its camera, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is said to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a 2K micro-curved display, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, and support for satellite communication, with the top variant offering Beidou dual-satellite connectivity.

The 15 Ultra’s camera setup will include a 50-megapixel LYT-900 main sensor, a 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 ultra-wide lens, a 50-megapixel IMX858 telephoto lens, and a 200-megapixel Samsung HP9 periscope telephoto sensor. It may pack a 6,000mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging support.

Lei Jun also hinted at a possible price hike due to increasing research and component costs. The previous Xiaomi 14 Ultra launched at 6,499 Yuan (~$890) and given the current trends, the 15 Ultra is expected to be priced higher. However, the exact pricing will only be confirmed at launch, expected later this month.

Realme unveiled the Realme Neo 7 equipped with the Dimensity 9300+ chip in China in December 2024. Later this month, the brand is expected to unveil the Neo 7 SE with the Dimensity 8400-Max chip onboard for the home market. New developments reveal that Realme is gearing up to announce new performance-driven phones for the Indian market. Apart from the Realme Neo 7, the country is also expected to receive the Realme GT 7T in the near future.

Realme GT 7T

Realme GT 6T alternatives

According to 91mobiles, the Realme GT 7T with model number RMX5085 is in the works for the Indian market. The report has revealed a few details about the phone, claiming that it will have an 8GB RAM variant, a blue colour option, NFC support, and Intercom-like capabilities that allow users to send and receive messages between HomePods, HomePod Mini, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and CarPlay.

There is no information about the specifications of the device. Last year, Realme released the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3-powered Realme GT Neo 6 SE and rebranded it as the Realme GT 6T in markets outside of China.

As mentioned above, Realme is expected to launch the Realme Neo 7 SE with the Dimensity 8400-Max chip later this month in China. It remains to be seen whether the GT 7T will be a rebranded version of the Neo 7 SE or if it will pack the upcoming Snapdragon 7+ Gen 4 chipset.

Realme Neo 7

Samsung’s tri-fold and Galaxy Z Fold 7 cover screen size leaks

Samsung confirmed at its Galaxy S25 launch event that it’s working on a tri-fold phone. While it didn’t show off the device, it’s expected to launch sometime in Q3 2025—around the same time as the rumored Galaxy Z Fold 7 / Flip 7.

And as is often the case in the world of smartphones, leaks and rumors are already giving us an early look at what to expect. The latest comes from industry analyst Ross Young, who claims that Samsung’s tri-fold will feature a 6.49-inch cover display.

Samsung tri-fold may share same cover display size as Z Fold 7

When fully unfolded, the device is expected to offer a massive 10-inch screen. Interestingly, Young also notes that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 will feature the same 6.49-inch cover display.

That display size is similar to the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, suggesting that Samsung is finally moving away from the narrow cover screens it offers on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and earlier models.

Huawei Mate XT

But here’s where things get interesting: unlike Huawei’s tri-fold, which bends in an S- or Z-shape and leaves part of the screen exposed, Samsung’s take on the form factor will reportedly use a G-style folding mechanism. This means the display will fold inward on both sides with no screen area exposed. As a result, we can expect better durability of the foldable.

Samsung is also reportedly developing a new type of display and protective film specifically for this device. Given the complexities involved in manufacturing such a foldable, production volumes are expected to be limited. As a result, the device could be positioned as an experimental, high-end offering rather than a mainstream flagship.

The big question is how much will it cost? One thing’s for sure—it won’t be cheap. The Huawei Mate XT launched at nearly $2,800 in China, so we can expect Samsung’s tri-fold to land in a similar price range.

Realme GT 7 Pro Racing Edition launched for 3,099 Yuan (~$425) as the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Elite phone

Realme has introduced a new addition to its flagship GT series with the launch of the Realme GT 7 Pro Racing Edition in China. This model is a performance-centric variant of the Realme GT 7 Pro, which was released in November 2024. While it retains the core hardware, the Racing Edition makes certain trade-offs in camera and display technology while focusing on raw performance and endurance. Let’s have a look at its specifications and unique features.

Realme GT 7 Pro Racing Edition specifications and features

Realme GT 7 Pro Racing Edition

The Realme GT 7 Pro Racing Edition features a 6.78-inch BOE S2 OLED display with a micro-quad-curved design. It supports 120Hz refresh rate, 6,000 nits peak brightness, 1,600 nits global brightness, and comes with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support for an enhanced viewing experience.

Under the hood, it is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, paired with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, ensuring top-tier performance. For thermal management, the device includes an 11,480mm² dual-chamber vapour cooling system.

The phone houses a massive 6,500mAh battery with 120W wired fast charging, which also supports bypass charging to reduce heat during intensive gaming sessions. When it comes to photography, the Racing Edition is equipped with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX896 main sensor with OIS, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide OV08D10 sensor, and a 16-megapixel Samsung S5K3P9 front camera.

Other notable features include an optical in-display fingerprint sensor, dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, a large X-axis linear motor, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, dual-frequency GPS, NFC, an IR blaster, and a USB-C port. The device runs on Android 14 with Realme UI 6 and boasts an aluminium middle frame with an IP68/69 rating for enhanced durability.

What makes the Racing Edition different from the regular GT 7 Pro

Realme GT 7 Pro
Realme GT 7 Pro

Unlike the standard Realme GT 7 Pro, which features a Samsung Eco² OLED Plus display with 2,000 nits global brightness, the Racing Edition opts for a BOE S2 OLED panel. The primary 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 sensor on the GT 7 Pro is replaced with the Sony IMX896, while the 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor remains the same. However, the GT 7 Pro offers an additional 50-megapixel LYT-600 periscope sensor, which is absent in the Racing Edition.

Another notable change is the fingerprint sensor—while the GT 7 Pro boasts an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, the Racing Edition comes with an optical in-display fingerprint scanner. Storage speeds also differ, with the GT 7 Pro featuring UFS 4.0, while the Racing Edition gets the faster UFS 4.1. On the plus side, the Racing Edition includes bypass charging support, a feature missing from the GT 7 Pro.

Realme GT 7 Pro Racing Edition price and availability

The Racing Edition has been launched in China with the following pricing:

  • 12GB + 256GB – 3,099 CNY (~$425)
  • 16GB + 256GB – 3,399 CNY (~$485)
  • 12GB + 512GB – 3,699 CNY (~$500)
  • 16GB + 512GB – 3,999 CNY (~$550)

The device is available in Neptune Explorer Edition (blue) and Star Trail Titanium colours. It undercuts the OnePlus Ace 5 Pro, which starts at 3,399 CNY (~$485), making it the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Elite phone. As of now, Realme has not confirmed whether the Racing Edition will be released in global markets outside China.

Redmi K80 Ultra rumored to pack a massive 7,000mAh+ battery

A new leak from Digital Chat Station suggests that Redmi’s next flagship, the K80 Ultra, could launch with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+ chipset. But the real highlight of the device might be its massive battery, which is rumored to exceed 7,000mAh—a notable jump from its siblings.

For comparison, the standard K80 and K80 Pro both pack around 6,000mAh batteries. The K80 gets a 6,550mAh cell with 90W charging, while the Pro model has a slightly smaller 6,000mAh capacity but upgrades to 120W fast charging.

Redmi K80 Ultra 7000mAh+ battery

But the real battery leap comes when you stack it against its predecessor. The K70 Ultra houses a 5,500mAh cell, so pushing past 7,000mAh on its successor would be a huge upgrade in longevity.

Despite the K80 Ultra’s larger battery, the leak claims it will support 100W fast charging, which should still deliver respectable speeds. The phone is also expected to feature a 1.5K resolution display with an ultra-narrow, four-sided straight-screen design, likely an OLED panel.

In terms of design, the device is said to sport a metal middle frame. The leak also hints at the use of a “single-point ultrasonic wave”—suggesting an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which could provide better accuracy and reliability compared to optical alternatives.

Redmi unveiled the Redmi K70 Ultra, featuring the Dimensity 9300 Plus chipset, in July 2024. This timeline suggests the Redmi K80 Ultra will launch around the same time this year.

A previous report also suggests that iQOO, Realme, and OnePlus are also gearing up to launch smartphones powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+. These devices are tentatively named iQOO Neo 10S Pro, Realme Neo 7 Pro, and OnePlus Ace 5s.

Among them, the Realme and OnePlus models are rumored to feature a 1.5K resolution OLED display, a sleek flat design, a metal middle frame, and a glass or fiberglass body. Both are expected to pack a solid primary camera and a 7,000mAh+ battery, but there’s a key difference in their biometric tech—Realme’s device is said to come with an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor, while OnePlus will reportedly stick to an optical scanner.

Interestingly, the report suggests that the iQOO Neo 10S Pro could be the first phone to debut with the Dimensity 9400+ chip.

The 7 Most Influential Samsung Galaxy Phones Of All Time

Samsung has undeniably cemented its position as a global powerhouse in the smartphone arena. The Galaxy line, in particular, has been a driving force behind this success, consistently pushing the boundaries of mobile technology and design. But among the numerous models released over the years, some stand out as true game-changers, sparking revolutions and leaving an indelible mark on the industry. This article delves into the legacy of these titans, exploring top Samsung Galaxy smartphones that redefined the mobile experience.

1. Samsung Galaxy S (2010)

Before the Galaxy S, Samsung was a significant player in the mobile market, but not necessarily a dominant one in the burgeoning smartphone space. The original Galaxy S changed everything. Released in 2010, this device was a watershed moment for both Samsung and the Android ecosystem. It showcased the potential of Google‘s operating system with its vibrant Super AMOLED display, a feature that would become a hallmark of Galaxy devices.

The Galaxy S wasn’t just about a pretty screen, though. It packed a powerful processor, a capable camera, and a sleek design that felt premium compared to its contemporaries. It was a complete package that demonstrated Samsung’s commitment to innovation and quality. More importantly, it signaled the arrival of a serious contender to Apple‘s iPhone, which had largely dominated the smartphone conversation until then. The Galaxy S laid the foundation for Samsung’s rise to prominence and helped solidify Android as the leading mobile platform.

2. Samsung Galaxy Note (2011)

In 2011, Samsung dared to challenge conventional wisdom with the Galaxy Note. At a time when most smartphones hovered around the 4-inch display size, the Note sported a massive (for the time) 5.3-inch screen. This audacious move was initially met with skepticism, with many critics dismissing the Note as too large and unwieldy. However, Samsung’s gamble paid off handsomely.

The Note wasn’t just about size; it also introduced the S Pen, a stylus that offered a unique way to interact with the device. This combination of a large display and a stylus proved to be a hit with users, particularly those who valued productivity and creativity on the go. The Galaxy Note essentially created the “phablet” category, blurring the lines between smartphones and tablets. It spawned a wave of imitators and solidified Samsung’s reputation as a company willing to take risks and innovate.

3. Samsung Galaxy S3 (2012)

With the Galaxy S3, Samsung shifted its focus from raw specifications to user experience. While the S3 boasted impressive hardware, it was the software features that truly set it apart. Samsung introduced a suite of “smart” features designed to make the phone more intuitive and user-friendly.

Features like Smart Stay, which kept the screen on as long as the user was looking at it, and S Voice, Samsung’s answer to Siri, showcased the company’s ambition to create a phone that anticipated and catered to the user’s needs. The Galaxy S3 also marked a significant improvement in design, with a more rounded and organic aesthetic. It was a phone that felt both powerful and approachable, solidifying Samsung’s position as a leader in smartphone design and user experience.

4. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (2015)

Samsung had experimented with curved displays before, but it was the Galaxy S6 Edge that truly brought the concept to the mainstream. The S6 Edge featured a revolutionary dual-curved display that wrapped around the sides of the phone, creating a visually stunning and immersive experience. This design wasn’t just about aesthetics; it also added functionality with features like Edge Lighting and information tickers.

The S6 Edge was a bold statement that showcased Samsung’s technological prowess and its willingness to push the boundaries of display technology. It was a phone that turned heads and sparked a new wave of innovation in smartphone displays. The curved edge display became a signature feature of subsequent Galaxy flagships, further cementing Samsung’s leadership in display technology.

5. Samsung Galaxy S8 (2017)

The Galaxy S8 was a major leap forward in smartphone design. Its “Infinity Display,” which stretched from edge to edge with minimal bezels, was a game-changer. It made the phone look sleek and modern, and it provided a more immersive viewing experience. The S8 also marked the debut of Bixby, Samsung’s AI assistant and it featured improved camera technology.

The S8’s design influenced the entire smartphone industry, with other manufacturers quickly adopting the bezel-less look. It solidified Samsung’s position as a leader in both design and technology, and it set a new standard for flagship smartphones.

6. Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra (2020)

In recent years, Samsung has consistently pushed the boundaries of mobile photography with its Galaxy S series. The Galaxy S20 Ultra, in particular, was a landmark device in this regard. It boasted a groundbreaking camera system with a 108MP main sensor and a periscope zoom lens that offered an unprecedented 100x “Space Zoom.”

While the zoom capabilities were initially met with some skepticism, the S20 Ultra’s camera system was undeniably powerful and versatile. It set a new standard for smartphone photography, pushing other manufacturers to up their game. The S20 Ultra demonstrated Samsung’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge camera technology in its smartphones, a trend that continues to this day.

7. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 (2021)

Samsung has been at the forefront of foldable phone technology, and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 was a significant step forward. It was more durable and refined than its predecessors, with improved hinge design and water resistance. The Fold 3 also featured an under-display camera on the inner folding screen, making for a more seamless viewing experience.

The Z Fold 3 signaled that foldable phones were becoming a viable option for consumers. It showed that Samsung was committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with smartphones, and it offered a glimpse into the future of mobile devices.

These are just a few of the Samsung Galaxy smartphones that have made a significant impact on the industry. Samsung’s commitment to innovation, design, and user experience has made them a leader in the smartphone market, and their Galaxy line continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible with mobile technology.

Galaxy S25 Ultra’s repairability score is the highest in a decade

Samsung made very little changes to the hardware of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. But the changes it did make turned out to be meaningful. Team iFixit recently shared their experience with Samsung’s latest Ultra flagship on their YouTube channel and gave this flagship the highest repair score for Samsung mobile phones in the past ten years.

A battery replacement is now easier than ever

The company has added four pull tabs behind the battery, and it came right off the bat without even needing to pull. The fact that Samsung didn’t glue the battery with the chassis has to be one of the best decisions they made for this phone.

However, the screen is still a bit difficult for an “average repair guy” to remove. iFixit mentions they had to heat the phone at 150°C for 3 minutes straight to soften the adhesive. Still, then the adhesive holding the display remains quite effective. The good thing is that most of the usual repair process can be completed without prying off the display. As the team suggests, it’s better not to touch the display unless it’s broken.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra camera ring pop off

One aspect the team didn’t talk about though, is the removable camera rings. Apparently, the lens cover glass can be replaced without having to remove the back glass.

In other aspects, this phone is largely similar to its predecessor, with iterative improvements in performance, battery life, and camera quality. While the lack of innovation didn’t stop Samsung from launching a flagship in 2025, you should wait until next year given you haven’t upgraded already. Rumors suggest Samsung will finally make the switch from traditional Li-Ion batteries to Si/C Li-Ion batteries, which have much higher energy density and enable much larger capacity without making the phone bulky.

After the S25 Ultra, the Z Fold 7 might be next to lose S-Pen features

Samsung may be making a trade-off with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 to push for a slimmer design, and it could come at the cost of a downgraded S Pen experience. Words for it come from an X tipster who claims the next iteration of Samsung’s foldable may see some limitations in its stylus functionality.

The Galaxy Z Fold lineup first introduced stylus support with the Z Fold 3 in 2021, but the implementation has always been somewhat restricted.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4

Unlike the S Pen found in the Galaxy S Ultra series, the Fold’s stylus has never featured Bluetooth support. The upcoming Z Fold 7 may take this a step further and scale back its stylus capabilities even more.

In pursuit of slimness

The reason appears to be Samsung’s focus on making the Fold 7 the thinnest model in its lineup. According to the leak, the device is set to be even slimmer than the Z Fold Special Edition, which measures 4.9mm when unfolded and 10.6mm when folded.

Achieving such a slim profile likely necessitates internal compromises, and it appears the S Pen’s feature set might be on the chopping block. The exact nature of the limitations remains unclear, though. The rumor doesn’t specify what features the company might sacrifice to accommodate the device’s svelte design.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition

This wouldn’t be the first time Samsung has tweaked S Pen features based on device constraints. For instance, the latest Galaxy S25 Ultra has an S Pen without Bluetooth connectivity.

As mentioned earlier, the S Pens designed for the Z Fold 5 and 6 already lack Bluetooth. So, it’s pretty clear from Samsung’s side that they are willing to tailor the stylus experience to fit the specific device.

Of course, this is all speculation for now. The rumor hasn’t been corroborated by other sources, so it’s wise to treat it with healthy skepticism.

The foldable phone market is constantly evolving, and Samsung is always experimenting with new designs and features. Whether a thinner profile is worth a potentially diminished S Pen experience remains to be seen. We’ll have to wait for official announcements or further leaks to get a clearer picture.
