Samsung‘s 2025 flagship lineup is already a hot topic, and next-gen upgrades have already started fueling the conversation. Rumors hint at some major changes in the Galaxy S25 series, one of which is the battery capacity.

One of the recent leaks suggests that the Galaxy S26 Ultra could feature a massive 7,000mAh battery—2,000mAh more than this year’s model. That’s a bold claim considering the upgrades we have seen in recent years.

Meanwhile, it’s been a while since Chinese smartphone brands have shifted to silicon-carbon battery technology. It offers higher energy density, allowing for much larger battery capacities within the same physical space. As a result, 6,000mAh batteries have practically become the baseline for many Chinese smartphone makers.

Samsung may not join the race too soon

But will Samsung really join this battery race so soon? Well, tipster @PandaFlashPro says no.

“I’ll delete my Twitter account if Samsung gives the Galaxy S26 Ultra a 7000mAh or even a 6000mAh battery I bet. Based on my Five Sources, the internal Samsung Test Lab only seem to have a Capacity of Max 5500mAh not more,” he claims.

The US smartphone market follows a completely different strategy compared to China. So, it wouldn’t be surprising if Samsung adopts silicon anode battery tech but only slightly increases the battery capacity, or simply sticks with its current technology for a few more years. After all, as long as Apple isn’t adopting the tech, Samsung doesn’t feel much pressure in most markets outside China.

However, it’s also worth noting that Samsung has lately been leaning toward slimmer phone designs once again. It released the relatively slimmer Galaxy Z Fold SE last year, teased the Galaxy S25 Edge this year (speculated to be the slimmest Galaxy S ever made), and is also rumored to be working on a relatively slimmer Z Fold – the upcoming Z Fold 7. The brand may leverage the benefits of Si/C batty tech to make the devices thinner while maintaining or slightly raising the battery capacity. Although there isn’t a report or rumor to back this as of now.

Vivo X300 series may include four models: X300, X300 Pro Mini, X300 Pro, and X300 Ultra

Vivo’s first half of 2025 for the Chinese market will see the arrival of the Vivo X200 Ultra and Vivo X200S. The brand is also said to be working on the Vivo X Fold 4 foldable phone, which may launch around mid-2025. The last quarter of this year is expected to see the arrival of the X300 lineup. A new leak by well-known tipster Digital Chat Station reveals that the product strategy for the X300 lineup may include four models.

Vivo X300 series’ product strategy tipped

The above leak is about Vivo’s flagship series, the X300 series. The machine-translated text reveals that the lineup will include two lower models and two top models, hinting that the lineup may comprise the Vivo X300, X300 Pro Mini, X300 Pro, and X300 Ultra.

The lower-end models, likely the Vivo X300 and X300 Pro Mini, are tipped to feature flat displays, whereas the company may adopt larger quad-curved screens for the higher-end variants, namely, the X300 Pro and X300 Ultra.

DCS added that the reason behind offering smaller models with flat displays and larger ones with curved screens is mainly due to hardware constraints and internal component arrangement. The tipster also mentions that the 200-megapixel periscope camera with a large sensor is too big to fit into smaller devices, indicating that only the higher-end models will feature it.

The above leak contradicts DCS’ previous leak that claimed that suggested that the lineup will have three models, such as Vivo X300, Vivo X300 Pro, and X300 Ultra. The leak suggested that the X300 would not have a 6.7-inch screen like the X200 but would be a smaller model equipped with a 6.31-inch display like the X200 Pro Mini.

Readers should note that the exact monikers of Vivo’s next-generation X-series flagships are not known, and the above-mentioned ones are just tentative names. Therefore, it is advisable to take the above report with a pinch of salt.

The Vivo X300 series is expected to launch in October this year. Except for the Ultra variant, all other models are likely to feature the next-generation Dimensity 9500 chip. As for the Ultra edition, it may debut in the first half of 2026 with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip onboard.

Galaxy A26 official renders show Samsung sticking with a notch in 2025

Samsung updated its Galaxy S series in January, and now it’s time for the A-series to get the same treatment. While the company likely has more A-series phones in the pipeline, we know for sure that the Galaxy A26, A36, and A56 are making their debut soon.

So far, we’ve seen official-looking renders of the A36 and A56, and now the A26 has joined the mix. The latest leak comes from X tipster Arsène Lupin, revealing a familiar Samsung design choice.

A notch display—again

For some reason, Samsung is still sticking with notched displays for its A2x and lower-tier models. The Galaxy A26 follows suit, featuring a waterdrop-style notch and a noticeable chin at the bottom.

On the back, though, the A26 looks more in line with the A36 and A56. The cameras now sit in a pill-shaped module instead of separate rings, and the panel remains flat. We can also spot the Key Island design on the right edge, while it will be available in white, black, and mint green color variants.

What to expect

According to a previous report, the Galaxy A26 5G will feature a 6.64- or 6.7-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Physically, the phone is said to measure 164 x 77.5 x 7.7 mm and weigh 209 grams, giving it a slightly larger but slim and lightweight build. This is slimmer than the 8.3 mm predecessor, which weighs 197g. It might debut with a 5000mAh battery.

Speaking of software, the Galaxy A26 5G will come with Android 15 out of the box, offering some of the latest features and security improvements from Samsung and Google. The launch of the Galaxy A26 should be imminent, as it’s already over a year since the launch of the predecessor.

Qualcomm is expected to unveil the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset in October of this year. Like last year, a slew Chinese flagship phones equipped with the new SD8E2 chip are expected to launch in the last quarter of this year. Likely, the Xiaomi 16 series could be among the first adopters of the new chip. Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is also expected to unveil the Redmi K90 series by the end of this year. A new leak, courtesy of tipster Digital Chat Station, reveals that the K90 could be equipped with a new custom-made chipset.

Redmi K90 series’ chipsets tipped

Over the past few years, Redmi’s K-series flagships for the Chinese market have followed a pattern of featuring two models: a standard and a Pro variant, powered by the previous Snapdragon flagship and the latest Snapdragon flagship chip, respectively.

For instance, the Redmi K70 series, which launched in 2023, included the K70 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2—originally introduced in 2022—and the K70 Pro with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which debuted in 2023. Similarly, last year’s Redmi K80 and K80 Pro were equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Elite, respectively.

Following this trend, the rumor mill has speculated that the upcoming Redmi K90 may feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite, while the K90 Pro could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. However, the latest leak from tipster Digital Chat Station suggests a different story.

A recent Weibo post by Digital Chat Station suggests that the Redmi K90 and K90 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming SM8845 and SM8850 chipsets.

The SM8850 is expected to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite, while the SM8845 is a custom-designed 3nm+ chip, developed by Qualcomm in collaboration with Redmi. According to DCS, this chipset features a fully custom architecture and is designed to deliver benchmark scores comparable to the Snapdragon 8 Elite (SM8750). However, its real-world performance remains uncertain.

Additionally, the tipster indicates that the chipset selection for the Redmi K90 series is focused on price positioning, prioritising affordability over raw performance. Speaking of price, a recent leak by the same source revealed that the K90 series may arrive with a price hike. It is speculated that the Pro could be priced between 4,000 Yuan (~$550) and 5,000 Yuan (~$685).

According to reports, the two model numbers associated with the upcoming Oppo Find N5 are PKH110 and PKH120. While the PKH110 is the regular version, the PKH120 is the variant that supports satellite connectivity. Now, the PKH110 variant has emerged on China’s TENAA certification platform, revealing its entire specifications.

The Find N5 measures 160.87 x 74.42 x 8.95mm when folded, making it the thinnest foldable phone from Oppo. Weighing 229 grams, it is lighter than previous models. The outer display is a 6.62-inch panel with a resolution of 1140 x 2616 pixels, while the inner display expands to 8.12 inches, offering a resolution of 2480 x 2248 pixels. Both screens seemingly support a 120Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, the Find N5 is powered by a 7-core processor with a peak speed of 4.1GHz. The brand has already confirmed that it is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite (7-core version). It will be available in configurations of 12GB and 16GB RAM, with storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The device houses a dual-cell battery with a rated capacity of 5,475mAh, expected to offer a typical capacity of 5,600mAh. Charging capabilities include 80W wired and 50W wireless support.

For photography, the device is equipped with a triple-camera system, featuring a 50-megapixel main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. Selfie cameras on both the inner and outer displays have been reduced to 8 megapixels as compared to the previous generation.

Running on Android 15 with ColorOS 15, the foldable also features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and an IR blaster. The brand has also confirmed that the device is equipped with other features, such as an Alert Slider and an up to IPX9-rated waterproof chassis. According to reports, the PKH120 variant, which has satellite communication support, will be available in a single 16GB+1TB configuration. On the other hand, the regular version will be available in 12GB+256GB and 16GB+512GB variants.

How the Find N5 differs from the Find N3

Compared to the Find N3, the Find N5 introduces several enhancements. The outer display has increased from 6.31 inches to 6.62 inches, while the inner display has grown from 7.82 inches to 8.12 inches, offering a more immersive experience. The chipset has been upgraded from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 to the Snapdragon 8 Elite, delivering improved performance. While the camera setup sees a reduction in certain areas, the overall hardware package, including a larger 5,600mAh battery (up from 4,805mAh), makes the Find N5 a comprehensive upgrade over its predecessor.

For those who don’t know, the Oppo Find N5 and Watch X2 are set to launch in China as well as Southeast Asian markets on Feb. 20. The N5 will be offered in three colour options: Dusk Purple, Jade White, and Satin Black.

Remember the Galaxy A06 that launched in India last year? Overall, the phone was a solid choice for its price, but there was one big letdown—there was no 5G. Well, it looks like Samsung is listening to its customers. They’re reportedly launching the Galaxy A06 5G in India “soon”.

What’s new in the 5G model?

First off, the display is getting a nice upgrade – 90Hz refresh rate. While the display size and resolution remains the same (6.7″, 720p), the standard 60Hz refresh rate gets an upgrade. That means smoother scrolling compared to the 4G model.

Under the hood, the phone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, a step up from the Helio G85 in the original A06. This should make the phone faster and more efficient, and offer better performance in gaming and multitasking.

The Galaxy A06 5G will run on Android 15-based One UI 7.0. And here’s the best part: it’s promised four OS upgrades and four years of security updates. That’s double the support of the 4G model, making this phone a much better long-term investment. And yes, it’s got 5G!

Other features:

On the camera front, you’re looking at a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor on the back, plus an 8MP selfie camera – the same as last year. Storage and RAM options also remains unchanged: 64GB 4GB RAM, 128GB 4GB RAM, 128GB 6GB RAM.

The phone will also come with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Dolby Atmos-enhanced audio, and an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance. It’ll be available in three colors: Blue Black, Light Gray, and Light Green.

The Galaxy A06 5G isn’t just about adding 5G. It’s got a faster processor, a smoother display, and better software support.

ASUS NUC 15 Pro mini PC: A tiny powerhouse with 99 TOPS AI performance

Let’s talk about ASUS’s latest mini PC, the NUC 15 Pro. This little guy is attracting significant attention with its AI performance, which hits as high as 99 TOPS (that’s Tera Operations Per Second). It’s powered by Intel’s latest Arrow Lake-H and Raptor Lake-H/U chips.

Specs and features:

The NUC 15 Pro is no slouch when it comes to specs. The top-tier model uses an Intel Core Ultra 7 255H CPU, which is paired with up to 96GB of DDR5-6400 memory. That’s enough muscle for multitasking, content creation, and even some serious AI workloads. For storage, you’ve got an M.2 2280 slot and an M.2 2242 slot, which supports up to 4TB SSD.

Although it doesn’t have a dedicated GPU, the integrated Arc 140T iGPU in the high-end model should handle tasks like video editing or casual gaming just fine. But if you’re into heavy gaming or 3D rendering, you might want to look elsewhere.

ASUS didn’t cut corners here. This mini PC comes loaded with ports: dual HDMI 2.0, dual Thunderbolt 4, triple USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2×2, a USB 2.0, an audio jack, and a 2.5G Ethernet port. Plus, it’s got Bluetooth 5.4 and WiFi 7 for wireless connectivity. This mini PC is ready to work with just about anything you throw at it.

AI performance is where things get really interesting. The Arm-based Snapdragon X Elite offers up to 45 TOPS of AI performance, which is, at least on paper, less than half of what this machine can do. Nonetheless, the user experience still depends on the implementation – taking proper advantage of the hardware.

The NUC 15 Pro comes in two flavors: tall and slim. There’s no difference in performance between the two, so it’s really about which one fits your desk (or your aesthetic) better.

But what about the price?

Here’s the catch—ASUS hasn’t revealed the price yet. Given the specs and features, though, it’s safe to say this mini PC won’t come cheap. But if you’re after a compact powerhouse, the NUC 15 Pro might just be worth the investment.

This includes seamless voice assistant functionality and Nebula AI-powered image recognition, which lets users snap a photo to analyze and solve complex problems in real-time. Nubia has also extended its AI ecosystem beyond smartphones, incorporating real-time activation features in its earbuds to enable continuous conversation support. In addition to the Z70 Ultra, other models will soon receive updates.

Beta Update Rolls Out

Ahead of today’s announcement, Nubia had already begun rolling out a beta update to Z70 Ultra users. The 126MB update enhances DeepSeek integration across both the standard and Starry Sky editions, refining voice assistant capabilities and optimizing Future Mode, which now defaults to enabling Nebula AI.

Additional refinements include adjustments to the search bar’s position, fixes for app search redirections, and improvements to the screen assistant’s UI behavior. The update also resolves memory leaks in the Nebula Gravity system, addressing stability concerns.

DeepSeek Gains Momentum

Nubia isn’t the only brand looking to embed DeepSeek at the core of its devices. Other Chinese manufacturers are reportedly developing similar integrations, while Samsung is rumored to be exploring DeepSeek AI for its Galaxy smartphones in China.

According to leaker Ice Universe, this move could position DeepSeek as a regional alternative to Google’s Gemini AI, enhancing One UI with localized AI-driven features. Beyond functionality, Samsung’s adoption could also help the company navigate China’s regulatory landscape and compete more effectively with AI-heavy rivals like Huawei. While Samsung has yet to confirm its plans, DeepSeek’s growing adoption suggests it could soon become a standard feature in Chinese-market smartphones.

OPPO Reno 13 Series European Prices and Specs Leak Ahead of Global Launch

OPPO is set to expand the global availability of its Reno 13 series, following launches in China and India. The global lineup will include the Reno 13, Reno 13 Pro, Reno 13 F, and Reno 13 Pro FS, targeting mid-range to premium markets. Ahead of the official launch, European pricing for these devices has surfaced online.

OPPO Reno 13 series European pricing

Per leakster Sudhanshu Ambhore (via MySmartPrice), European pricing starts at €549 for the base Reno 13 5G (12GB+256GB). The Pro model jumps to €799 for 12GB+512GB, while the budget Reno 13 F 5G sits at €379 for 8GB+256GB. The Reno 13 Pro FS 5G, priced at €449, offers 12GB+512GB. Additional RAM/storage variants may follow.

The Reno 13 and Pro models boast aerospace-grade aluminum frames—a first for the segment—and MediaTek’s Dimensity 8350 chipset. Both feature triple IP66/68/69 ratings for dust/water resistance, 50MP triple rear cameras, a 50MP front shooter, and 5,800mAh batteries with 80W fast charging. A 120Hz Smart Adaptive AMOLED display and ColorOS 15 (Android 15-based) round out the package.

The Reno 13 F 5G is reportedly for a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, retaining the 50MP main camera and 5,800mAh battery but downgrading to 45W charging. Details on the Pro FS remain scarce, though its specs suggest a balance between the F and Pro tiers.

OPPO has yet to confirm global release dates, leaving markets awaiting official announcements.

In other news, Oppo has officially announced that the Find N5 will debut within the next two weeks, with a possible launch on Feb. 19–21. The foldable phone is set to be the thinnest yet, measuring under 9.2mm folded and 4.6mm open. It will be the first foldable powered by the 7-core Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, featuring an 8-inch 2K inner display with minimal crease and a flat outer screen.
