Xiaomi has launched a number of new devices in the annual speech event yesterday, which includes the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 book-style foldable, the smaller Xiaomi Mix Flip, the Xiaomi Smart Band 9, and the Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport.

Speaking of the book style foldable, the impact resistance has reportedly increased to 300% as compared to its predecessor. The Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 is as light as 226g, as thin as 4.59mm when unfolded and 9.47mm when folded. For context, the recently released Honor Magic V3 is measured at 4.35mm when unfolded and 9.2mm when folded.

According to a report, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 is the first phone from Xiaomi to use a carbon fiber structure inside. The hinge floating plate, the screen lining, and the middle plate battery compartment are all made of T800H high-strength carbon fiber material, which brings a 300% improvement in impact resistance.

The carbon fiber material used inside the device reportedly has a tensile strength of 5500MPa. For reference, this is 13 times that of 6M42 aluminum alloy and 25 times that of ordinary aluminum alloy. Another advantage of the new material is that it is lightweight. To be more specific, the weight is only 1/15 of 6M42 aluminum alloy. This should be one of the contributing factors behind the 29g reduction in the device’s weight compared to its predecessor.

The device adopts a 7.98″ 2224 x 2488 foldable LTPO AMOLED panel that reaches a peak brightness of 3000 nits. The cover display is measured at 6.56″, which also reached the same level of peak brightness. It offers a resolution of 1080 x 2520 pixels (21:9).

The device runs on HyperOS based on Android 14, and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. This is paired with up to 1TB storage and 16GB RAM.

Lenovo has officially confirmed some of the specifications of the upcoming Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.7, which is expected to launch towards the end of this month.

It will be paired with LPDDR5x memory and up to UFS 4.0 storage (UFS 4.0 is limited to the 256GB model). The chipset consists of 4x Arm Cortex-A715, 4x Arm Cortex-A510, and Arm Mali-G615 MC6. It scores around 1400 and 4200 in the Geekbench single and multi-core test respectively.

According to the poster, the device achieves an average fps of 59.1 in an open-world RPG game in the highest graphics setting with motion blur turned off. Nonetheless, the data comes from Lenovo Laboratory.

To power the system, the tablet boasts a 10200mAh large-capacity battery and also supports 45W super flash charging. The device is claimed to offer a standby battery life of 79.6 days. The product has already passed China’s 3C certification

According to a previous teaser, the device will pack a 12.7″ 2.9K high-resolution and will be available in two different finishes – a standard one and another with a focus on eye comfort. When asked about the development, Richard Yu, the company’s executive director, chairman of the Terminal BG, and chairman of the Intelligent Automotive Solutions BU, did not deny the development of a tri-folding device. According to rumors, this device will adopt a unique inward and outward folding design and be equipped with a dual hinge system. The Inphic G2 on-ear gaming headset has been released to the Chinese market. The new gaming headset comes in a lightweight design and features a double-layer headband. The G2 has a 50mm driver unit and simulated 7.1 surround sound. The headset also has RGB personalized streaming lighting effects to deliver an immersive gaming experience.

The Inphic G2 is a head-mounted gaming headset and utilizes a lightweight double-layer headband design. This consists of an adaptive inner headband and a stainless steel outer headband. Inphic says the double-layer headband design is well-suited for Asian head shapes, although it will still suit persons from other races. The model has a net weight of 320g and can be used for extended periods without being fatigued by its weight.

The Inphic G2 gaming headset has a built-in sound card via which the user can turn on the simulated 7.1 surround sound effect. Mini PC manufacturer Simply NUC is preparing to launch a new series of its fanless mini PCs. The extremeEDGE mini PC servers are powered by the 2000- and 3000-series AMD Phoenix-U and Hawk Point-U processors. The new models will get the complement of the AMD Ryzen Pro 8840 processor. The AMD Ryzen embedded V3C18l and Ryzen 7 7840U are also among the options available for the new model. The models also have variants powered by the Intel N5015 and N100 APUS. The models come with a fanless aluminum chassis that can withstand environmental temperatures between -40ºC and 85ºC.

The extremeEDGE fanless mini PC servers utilize the Nano-BMC (Baseboard Management Controller) technology which integrates remote monitoring and systems management of powerful fanless servers. Remote console access o, virtual drive creation, remote power management, and seamless firmware upgrades are supported within the Nano-BMC architecture. The silent mini PC portfolio of Simply NUC has blossomed over time. The premium model under the extremeEDGE 3000-series feature any of the top-end AMD processors. This is either the Ryzen embedded V3C181 or the Ryzen 7 7840U/ Pro 8840U processors. This is complemented with an integrated XDNA NPU.

All versions of the extremeEDGE fanless mini PC servers offer up to 64GB LPDDR5-5600 RAM and up to 24TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD storage. The maximum power output of the processors is under 54W TDP and this ensures proper cooling while the device is operational. The ports available in the extremeEDGE are designed for high-speed server configurations. They include two 10GbE NICs, four USB-A 3.2 ports, HDMI 2.1 and DP via the USB-C, mDP or full size 2.1 connector. The models also feature a mini-USB port for accessing gaming consoles.

The dimensions of the Simply NUC extremeEDGE fanless mini PC servers are up to 163 x 149 x 72.94mm while the weight is just about 2.25kg. All versions of the model support WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, as well as 4G/5G network connectivity. There are no concrete details on the release date and pricing for the new extremeEDGE fanless mini PCs.
