The company is undergoing a rebranding as the Coolpad Red that will allow it to better appeal to the local market.</p>
<p>The new makeover from the Chinese smartphone maker has the company&#8217;s branding shift from blue to red. This &#8220;red&#8221; color scheme also signifies its patriotism along with refresh to its brand image in the region. The Coolpad Red&#8217;s focus will be for the Chinese market as of right now, so its overseas operations will remain unaffected by the branding refresh. According to the company, its new makeover will also have it launch better products and offer improved services in its home country as well.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class=" wp-image-422731 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/9f161c30-ff89-4e60-8c08-379a6a4bc6b0.jpg?x44794" alt="Coolpad" width="537" height="537" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/9f161c30-ff89-4e60-8c08-379a6a4bc6b0.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/9f161c30-ff89-4e60-8c08-379a6a4bc6b0-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/9f161c30-ff89-4e60-8c08-379a6a4bc6b0-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/9f161c30-ff89-4e60-8c08-379a6a4bc6b0-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/9f161c30-ff89-4e60-8c08-379a6a4bc6b0-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/9f161c30-ff89-4e60-8c08-379a6a4bc6b0-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 537px) 100vw, 537px" /></p>
<p>Furthermore, the brand also aims on focusing on technological innovation to offer cutting edge technology while also showcasing its patriotism with the red color based on the Chinese flag in the global smartphone market. In other words, Coolpad Red also arrives as a refresh to its entire brand image as it expands in its own home country. Notably, the recent announcement also arrives amid a spree of new hires for its top management, including a new senior vice president and three new vice presidents that have also worked with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Xiaomi Group</a> as well in the past.</p>

<p>Now, to reflect the company&#8217;s focus on building the metaverse, Facebook is planning to change its company name as early as next week, <a href="https://www.theverge.com/2021/10/19/22735612/facebook-change-company-name-metaverse">reports <em>The Verge</em></a>, citing sources with direct knowledge of the development.</p>
<p>While not much is known at this point in time, it&#8217;s likely that the company will have a new parent company and Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oculus">Oculus</a>, and other products will be positioned under the new parent company.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-420242 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Facebook-Logo.jpeg?x44794" alt="Facebook Logo" width="1600" height="900" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Facebook-Logo.jpeg 1600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Facebook-Logo-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Facebook-Logo-768x432.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Facebook-Logo-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Facebook-Logo-696x392.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Facebook-Logo-1068x601.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Facebook-Logo-747x420.jpeg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px" /></p>
<p>The development comes at a time when <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/antitrust">antitrust</a> regulators in the United States as well as in other regions are trying to break the company up.</p>
<p>The new name for the company is a closely guarded secret and even the full senior leadership isn&#8217;t aware of it. There&#8217;s a possibility about the new name to have something to do with &#8216;Horizon.&#8217;</p>
<p>It is said that the company&#8217;s CEO <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mark-zuckerberg">Mark Zuckerberg</a> is planning to talk about the name change at the annual Connect conference taking place on 28th October. But there&#8217;s a possibility that the announcement could happen earlier than that.</p>
<p>The rebrand could also help separate some of the futuristic work that the company is doing and could give that team a breather from the intense scrutiny that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/social-media">social media platform</a> Facebook is facing related to its operation.</p>
<p>Facebook has set up a dedicated metaverse team which Mark Zukerberg says is going to be a big part of the next chapter &#8220;for the way that the internet evolves after the mobile internet.” He also added that the company will be doubling down in this area.</p>
<p>In 2015, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google">Google</a> had reorganized the company&#8217;s holding structure and announced Alphabet as the parent company as it wanted to signal about no longer being just a search engine but a growing conglomerate with companies working in several areas.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-393018 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-1.jpeg?x44794" alt="Mi Home Store New Logo" width="690" height="477" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-1.jpeg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-1-300x207.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-1-100x70.jpeg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-1-218x150.jpeg 218w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-1-608x420.jpeg 608w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>The new logo of Xiaomi has been designed by Kenya Hara, a professor of Musashino Art University and the President of the Nippon Design Center (NDC).</p>
<p>For this new logo, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Xiaomi</a> has gone with rounded corners much like what you have seen on some icon packs. So you have a squircle in place of the old logo which is a square. Xiaomi says the designer used the “superellipse” mathematical formula for the design and had to adjust the variables to get a visually optimal dynamic balance and a perfect balance between a square and a circle.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-393019 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-2.jpeg?x44794" alt="Mi Home Store New Logo" width="690" height="517" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-2.jpeg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-2-300x225.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-2-80x60.jpeg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-2-265x198.jpeg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-2-561x420.jpeg 561w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>Xiaomi says that it will continue to use orange as its corporate color and thus the color of the logo remains unchanged. However, it will use Black and Silver variants of the logo as supplemental colors for high-end products.</p>
<p>A couple of months ago, in April, when Xiaomi launched its 5000th Mi Home Store in China in the city of Shenyang which was also the first to use the new Xiaomi branding.</p>

The reason for the lawsuit is that its pear shape logo somehow matches its own iconic apple logo branding.</p>
<p>Prepear is a meal planning application that is targetted towards children, but according to Apple, the company is hurting its business despite not even being in the same line of operations. Allegedly, the brand logo similarity is the cause of the issue. Prepear is currently available on both Google Play and App Store and is owned by Super Healthy Kids. In no manner does it even compete with the Cupertino based giant and its logo isn&#8217;t even regarding the same fruit.</p>

<p>Prepear responded to the lawsuit with a statement on its official Instagram account stating that &#8220;Recently @apple yes, The trillion dollar Apple, has decided to oppose and go after our small business’ trademark saying our pear logo is too close to their apple logo and supposedly hurts their brand?&#8221; The meal planning company also pointed out that Apple bullies other smaller businesses in a similar manner, especially if the branding is regarding a fruit logo. <p>The new logo of Nubia uses a color scheme of two hues &#8212; Red and White and makes the logo appear more brighter and flatter. The company has changed the logo from a graphic design to a typography-based design.</p>
<div style="width: 640px;" class="wp-video"><!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('video');</script><![endif]-->

<p>Wang Hui, co-founder of the Nubia brand, says that the new logo is cleaner, more cutting-edge, and has a more modern feel. As evident, the company is ditching its &#8220;little red circle&#8221; branding that it had so far used.</p>
<p>Along with revealing this new logo, the company has also revealed brand vision, moving ahead of the just smartphones. Keeping the Gen Z in focus, the company says that it will also enter the field of smart hardwares, focusing on smart lifestyle products for youths.</p>

<p>The announcement from Nubia about expanding its product categories beyond smartphones lines up with similar strategy from other smartphone brands. Companies like Xiaomi and Realme have already started launching new smart lifestyle products and more and more brands are adopting this route.</p>
<p>While Nubia has been well-known brand, the company&#8217;s recent success can be attributed to its lineup of gaming smartphones under <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/red-magic">Red Magic</a> brand. It remains to be seen which products will be coming from the Nubia brand and we are expecting something about this in the coming weeks and months.</p>

<p>OnePlus has revealed more details about its new visual brand identity.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/OnePlus-new-logo-01.gif?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-310997" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/OnePlus-new-logo-01.gif?x44794" alt="OnePlus new logo 01" width="2000" height="1126" /></a>The new identity makes some tweaks in the company&#8217;s traditional logo and NEVER SETTLE fonts. The company&#8217;s brand identity will still be focused on its iconic red and supported by a secondary palette of cyan, green, indigo, magenta, and yellow.</p>
<p>The company claims this gives a more balanced feel to its visual identity.</p>
<p>Here are the changes made to the brand identity in detail.</p>
<p><strong>OnePlus Logo: </strong></p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><em>Original Story as follows.</em></p>
<p>OnePlus had <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/16/oneplus-8-series-launch-date-could-finally-be-revealed-on-march-18/">recently teased</a> to announce something new on 18th March which was later confirmed to be the company&#8217;s new branding. Yesterday, the new logo of the Chinese smartphone maker was leaked online.</p>
<p>Now, keeping its promise, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus">OnePlus</a> has today officially revealed its new logo which is now live on the company&#8217;s website. We checked the company&#8217;s official website of several countries including China, India, and the United States and almost all of them now carry the new logo. However, at the time of wiring this, the Australia website and the Global website still has the old logo.</p>

<p>Zhang Xuan, an executive at OnePlus said that the redesign of the branding comes as the company needs to re-examine and refine from multiple dimensions such as company strategy, brand positioning, users, cultural background, media changes, as well as laws and regulations.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-310524" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/oneplus-comparison.jpg?x44794" alt="Oneplus logo comparison" width="1200" height="600" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/oneplus-comparison.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/oneplus-comparison-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/oneplus-comparison-768x384.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/oneplus-comparison-1024x512.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/oneplus-comparison-696x348.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/oneplus-comparison-1068x534.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/oneplus-comparison-840x420.jpg 840w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p>As for the new logo, the icon remains mostly unchanged but the text is now different. The font that the company has used is a bit heavier, making it line up closely with the branding of the recently launched <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-7t/">OnePlus 7T</a> series.</p>
<p>Since the new logo has been officially revealed, we now expect the company&#8217;s upcoming flagship smartphones &#8212; OnePlus 8, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus-8-pro">8 Pro</a>, and 8 Lite to carry this new branding, on the device as well as packaging.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>UP NEXT: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/18/oneplus-to-sell-its-smartphones-via-multiple-retailers-in-china-starting-with-suning-com/">OnePlus to now sell its smartphones through multiple retailers in China, starting with Suning.com</a></strong></h6>
