CMF has launched the Watch 3 Pro in India, bringing its latest smartwatch to the market after its earlier international debut in January. The new model succeeds the Watch Pro 2 and adds upgraded fitness tracking, AI tools, Bluetooth calling, and longer battery life.

The CMF Watch 3 Pro features a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a 466 x 466 pixel resolution, 60fps refresh rate, 326ppi pixel density, 650 nits typical brightness, and up to 670 nits peak brightness. CMF says the screen-to-body ratio is 10% higher than the Watch Pro 2. Always-On Display is also supported.

The smartwatch has a precision-milled metal body, soft-touch silicone straps, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. It comes in Light Green, Dark Grey, Light Grey, and Orange. The device measures 25.8 x 4.7 x 1.44cm and weighs 51g.

What fitness and smart features does the CMF Watch 3 Pro offer?

For fitness tracking, the Watch 3 Pro supports more than 130 sports modes, including 131 listed activity modes and automatic detection for seven activities. It includes dual-band GPS with L1 and L5 support, along with GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and Beidou. CMF has also added a four-channel heart rate sensor, SpO2 monitoring, an accelerometer, an ambient light sensor, 6-axis motion tracking, sleep detection with enhanced sleep tracking, stress monitoring, women’s health records, calories, distance, exercise duration, water reminders, and stand-up alerts.

The watch also offers Active Score, which uses MET-based data to summarise weekly physical activity. AI-powered workout summaries show training load, estimated recovery time, and endurance predictions for 5K and 10K runs.

Smart features include ChatGPT-based voice prompts, Bluetooth calling, a speaker, a microphone, an additional microphone for clearer calls, gesture shortcuts, 140-character quick replies, weather, flashlight, Find My Phone, voice recording with transcription, and Essential News digests.

The 350mAh battery is rated for up to 13 days of typical use, 10 to 11 days with heavy use, 4.5 days with AOD and heavy use, 17.2 hours of continuous GPS use, and up to 60 days in power-saving mode. A full charge takes 99 minutes.

The CMF Watch 3 Pro works with the Nothing X app, which now supports CMF watches, including the Watch Pro and Watch Pro 2. It also supports Strava, Apple Health, and Google Health Connect.

The CMF Watch 3 Pro is priced at Rs. 7,999, with an introductory price of Rs. 6,999. Early bird sales begin on May 7 at 12PM, followed by general sales on May 8 through Flipkart and participating offline stores across India.

The latest information is arriving from known tipster Yogesh Brar, who shared the details on X (formerly Twitter). Looking at the tweet, the company is working on three new Nothing and CMF branded smartphones, which are expected to hit the market in Q1 2026. Out of the three devices, it appears that two of the phones will carry the Pro moniker.

So it is unclear if there is a new CMF Phone Pro model, a flagship Nothing Phone 3 Pro, or the new Nothing Phone 4a Pro option. To recall, the Nothing Phone (3a) series debuted back in March 2025. So the Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro may be two of these upcoming models. The tipster also added that these devices will have a mix of both Snapdragon and Dimensity chipsets. So we are getting both a budget/mid range or high end device.

Apart from just new smartphone models, Brar claims that the company is also working on a bunch of new accessories. These might be exclusive to these new launches or be inclusive of the existing models as well. Nothing has released Nothing OS 4.0 for the CMF Phone 1 and the Phone 2 Pro, based on Android 16. The update adds new features and introduces a community platform called Playground.

Users can now hide apps from the home screen and app drawer. Hidden apps appear in a separate section accessed through Home screen > App drawer > Hidden icons. The app drawer includes search scope management to filter results.

Widget improvements include more size options for Weather, Pedometer, and Screen Time. Quick Settings tiles now support 2×2 sizing for most functions. Pop-up view allows two floating icons for faster app switching between tasks.

The system includes app optimization to speed up startup times, located in Settings > Apps > App optimisation. Dual SIM users can set different ringtones for each SIM card.

Nothing introduces Playground (Alpha), a platform hosting community-created content like Essential Apps, Camera Presets, and EQ Profiles. Essential Apps (Alpha) are AI-powered applications built by the community. More information is available at playground.nothing.tech.

The visual refresh includes redesigned Nothing app icons and updated status bar icons. Two new lock screen clock faces are available in Customisation settings. Extra dark mode adds a deeper dark theme option through Settings > Display > Dark theme > Extra dark mode.

CMF just uploaded a teaser video on X (formerly Twitter), which confirms the CMF Headphone Pro with 100 hours of audio playback. In comparison, the high end Nothing Headphone (1) offers just 35 hours of playback with ANC enabled and up to 80 hours with ANC turned off. So this 100 hour figure is likely with ANC disabled on the CMF Headphone Pro, assuming it even offers Active Noise Cancelling technology.

The trailer also showcases some of the design elements, like the buttons, slider, 3.5mm audio jack, and the earcup. The brand’s earlier teaser showcased what appeared to be a modular design with replaceable earcups, but this new teaser doesn’t reveal any similar detail. But Nothing’s design focused philosophy will likely make a return here again.

Based on what we know so far, the CMF Headphone Pro will be a more affordable pair of headphone similar to the CMF Buds 2, CMF Buds 2+, and CMF Buds 2a that launched earlier this year. Nothing, the London-based hardware startup founded by Carl Pei, is giving its budget-friendly sub-brand CMF more room to grow. The company announced on Thursday that CMF will become a standalone entity and India will serve as its manufacturing and R&D headquarters.

CMF, short for “Color, Material, Finish,” first entered the market in 2023 with a modest lineup that included wireless earbuds and a smartwatch. Since then, the company has also entered the smartphone market, targeting budget and mid-range segments.

As another major shift for the brand, Nothing is making CMF independent. It’s partnering with Optiemus, one of India’s leading original design manufacturers, to form a joint venture that will handle CMF’s production locally. 

Nothing says it will invest more than $100 million into the venture over the next three years and will create around 1,800 jobs in the process. The equity structure of the partnership hasn’t been disclosed.

As TechCrunch notes, India is a natural choice for CMF’s expansion. According to IDC data, phones in the $100–$200 range make up over 40 percent of India’s shipments, and CMF’s lineup fits squarely in that segment. The country has also become Nothing’s strongest market. Its shipments jumped 85 percent year-over-year in Q2 2025, giving it over 2 percent of market share.

CMF also has strong leadership in place. Last month, the company appointed Himanshu Tondon, previously with Xiaomi’s POCO brand, as Vice President of CMF Business.

By separating CMF and anchoring it in India, Nothing is betting on a two-brand strategy. Nothing will continue to focus on the high-end premium smartphone and accessory market, while CMF will compete in the dominant budget and mid-range segment.

The way the earcup slides into the headphones, Nothing might bring replaceable ear cushions like interchangeable bezels on the CMF Watch 3 Pro.

To recall, the Nothing Headphone (1) were the only over-the-ear headphones from the brand. So the CMF Headphone Pro joins the more expensive model, while also borrowing some of its design elements. We can see the roller style volume controls, a USB Type-C port, a power button, an LED indicator, and a slider that might help in removing the ear cushions. Nothing‘s CMF has started rolling out a new software update for the CMF Phone 2 Pro. The firmware version is Nothing OS V3.2-250903-2153 and it brings system improvements along with camera optimizations.

The rollout is phased, so not all users will receive the update at the same time. This method helps the company track any issues and maintain a stable release.

One of the main changes is better power management during WhatsApp video calls, which should reduce battery drain. The update also improves system stability and network performance, making the device more reliable in daily use.

Camera performance has been refined as well. CMF says the update reduces heating when using the camera in WhatsApp, which should make the phone more comfortable during longer sessions. It also improves image clarity in some Facebook camera scenarios, fixing earlier problems with inconsistent quality.

To update your CMF earbuds, use the Nothing X app. Start by connecting the earbuds to your phone and ensuring the Nothing X app is up to date. Open the app and go to the settings menu, usually found in the top right corner. Look for the “Firmware Update” option and tap it. The app will check for any available updates. If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to begin. Make sure the earbuds have at least 30% battery, are placed in the charging case, and the case remains open during the update.

Nothing has released the OS V3.2-250715-1813 update for the CMF Phone 2 Pro. The rollout is happening in phases, so users may receive the update at different times. This staged rollout helps the company monitor for any issues and maintain a stable experience.

The update addresses several general issues. It fixes delayed notifications in some apps, resolves rare display errors during screenshots, and corrects occasional failures in NFC reading. A font-related bug affecting the heart icon display in Instagram using the Inter font has also been fixed. System stability has been improved across the board.

Camera performance sees multiple adjustments in this update. The edge purple tint that appeared during backlit portrait shots has been fixed. Color accuracy for indoor portrait shots has been improved by correcting a cyan bias. A display issue with dark blue tones in some outdoor portrait scenes has been resolved. Brightness and contrast have been adjusted for outdoor shots to improve overall clarity.

Nothing notes that users may experience temporary overheating or higher power consumption during the update process. This is normal and will return to usual levels after installation.

To check for the update or provide feedback, users can go to Settings > System > Feedback on their device. It is recommended to install the update over Wi-Fi and ensure the phone has enough charge.

Announced in April 2025, the CMF Buds 2a targets budget-conscious users while offering features typically found in higher-end models. The earbuds are equipped with 12.4mm bio-fibre drivers and Nothing’s Ultra Bass Technology 2.0 for enhanced low-end audio. They support up to 42 dB Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Clear Voice Technology, aided by a quad-microphone setup for improved call quality.

For gamers and video streamers, the earbuds offer a low-latency mode with 110ms latency when paired with Nothing OS devices. The IP54 rating ensures resistance against dust and splashes, making them suitable for casual workouts or outdoor use.

Battery life is rated at up to 35.5 hours including the case, and up to 8 hours of standalone playback with ANC turned off. A quick 10-minute charge offers up to 5.5 hours of listening time, making them viable for all-day usage.

This launch is part of Nothing’s broader CMF Buds 2 series rollout in India. The company has confirmed that the CMF Buds 2 and Buds 2 Plus models will be launched in July 2025.

Two years ago, Nothing introduced its CMF sub-brand, aiming to deliver premium aesthetics and quality at a budget-friendly price tag.

This year in April, CMF announced its newest model, the CMF Phone 2 Pro. The question is, does this device uphold the brand’s philosophy, and does it excel in delivering on that promise?

That’s what I’ll try to find out in this CMF Phone 2 Pro review. 

Since specs tell only part of the story (and most of you know how it stands on paper), I’ll focus on my real-world experience using the phone over the past few weeks. 

When I received this phone for review, I was excited because I was about to head out on one of the longest drives of my life – a 2000km ride from Mumbai to Dharamsala. 

For five days, I made the CMF Phone 2 Pro my trusted companion, relying on it for everything from navigation to daily tasks, putting it to the ultimate test.

DESIGN

Staying true to the brand’s ideology, the CMF Phone 2 Pro brings a beautiful design that stands out in this price range. 

I’ve got the light green color, which is subtle yet elegant. This color paired with the industrial design of the phone makes it stand out in its segment. The screws and accessory point, while functional (allowing you to attach a modular case), enhance the device’s aesthetic appeal.

At just 185 grams and 7.8mm thick, the phone feels remarkably comfortable and easy to handle.

The 6.77-inch screen makes the CMF Phone 2 Pro a sizable device, yet it feels manageable in hand. The green color unit with me has a glossy finish on a plastic body.

Besides Light Green, the CMF Phone 2 Pro comes in three other colors: black, orange, and white. The orange and white variants feature a stylish dual-tone finish, while black remains solid.

For those wondering about accessories, the CMF Phone 2 Pro requires a universal cover that screws onto the back, allowing you to attach add-ons. Options include a wallet, stand, lenses, and a lanyard, with the added benefit that older accessories appear compatible.

Overall, in the design department, I think CMF has done a fantastic job with the Phone 2 Pro. 

My only complaint is the IP54 rating, which, while an improvement over its predecessor, lags behind competitors in this price range offering up to IP65 protection.

DISPLAY

Alongside its design, display is one of the selling points of the CMF Phone 2 Pro. 

The CMF Phone 2 Pro features a 6.77-inch FHD+ flexible AMOLED display, boasting up to 3000 nits peak brightness, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 1000Hz touch sampling rate.

How does this translate to real-world use?

The display delivers an outstanding viewing experience, whether you’re watching videos, scrolling through social media, or gaming. The 120Hz refresh rate ensures smooth animations and scrolling, which is complemented by excellent touch responsiveness. The phone’s slim bezels further enhance the immersive viewing experience.

I personally feel the brightness could have been higher, but the display performed well even in outdoor conditions without any major viewability issues.

In short, for a phone in its price range, the display is excellent.

PERFORMANCE & SOFTWARE

On paper, the processor may be the CMF Phone 2 Pro’s weakest link.

Under the hood, the CMF Phone 2 Pro features the Dimensity 7300 Pro, paired with 6/8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of expandable storage.

The Dimensity 7300 Pro isn’t the fastest chip in its price range, but it performs reliably. When you pair it with ample 8GB RAM and Nothing OS, it delivers a consistently smooth user experience.

During my journey, I frequently switched between apps and ran navigation for 7-8 hours straight, yet the phone never felt underpowered or sluggish. It didn’t visibly overheat either, even with continuous GPS usage.

The UI is smooth and responsive, with apps loading quickly and no noticeable lag when using the camera or handling demanding tasks. While I’m not a heavy gamer, the phone handled everything I threw at it with ease.

While a faster processor would be ideal on paper, in real-world use, the performance is more than adequate for regular users.

This hardware, paired with Nothing OS 3.2, delivers a seamless and delightful user experience. Its minimalist design, free from the bloat of other brands, combined with smooth animations and subtle design touches, makes the phone a joy to use daily.

Add to that, you get three years of OS upgrades and an extended six years of security updates too – which is good for a device in its price class. 

Essential Space

A new feature is the dedicated Essential Button, designed to organize your notes. It allows you to save screenshots and voice notes, with AI-driven organization in the app.

Honestly, I found the Essential Button largely unnecessary and frustrating, as I often misclicked it while reaching for the power button. While some may find it useful, I suspect it will appeal to only a niche group of users.

CAMERA

There are three cameras on the CMF Phone 2 Pro – a 50MP f/1.8 primary sensor, another 50MP telephoto sensor, and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter. 

Unlike some budget phones where the third camera is merely decorative (often a macro lens), the telephoto sensor here is impressively capable. In fact, it is the ultra-wide-angle sensor that is the weakest of the trio.

Main 50MP Camera

The primary camera captures good-quality, saturated photos right out of the default camera app. So you can directly share those photos on social media without significant edits. The level of detail from the primary sensor is also pretty good for a camera in its price class. 

In low light, the primary camera struggles somewhat, but it remains usable with minor adjustments.

Telephoto 50MP Camera

This unexpected addition to the camera system significantly enhances its functionality.

The 2x portraits are a delight with this sensor, delivering sharp background separation from the subject in focus. Zooming up to 2x outputs impressive photo and video quality.

For example, consider this 2x telephoto shot of Jaipur’s Hawa Mahal. Despite half the monument being under construction, the telephoto sensor allowed me to capture its intricate patterns beautifully.

Low-light performance in night mode is also pretty effective with this sensor. For example, a shot of Jaipur’s Jal Mahal at midnight, with minimal light, still produced a decent image.

Ultra-Wide Angle 8MP Camera

As noted earlier, the ultra-wide-angle sensor is the weakest part of the camera system.

In good lighting, the ultra-wide-angle sensor produces decent shots, but its clarity and detail fall short of higher-quality sensors.

At night, its performance declines significantly, especially in terms of details. Check the samples below to see this sensor’s real-world performance.

Video Shooting

The phone captures 4K 30fps videos with solid quality and detail, but the lack of OIS requires careful handling for stable footage.

Overall, if you stick to the two 50MP sensors on the device, you should be pretty happy with the phone’s camera performance. 

BATTERY 

On paper, the CMF Phone 2 Pro doesn’t boast the largest or longest-lasting battery.

But in real-world use, the 5000mAh battery proves more than adequate, delivering 6-7 hours of screen-on time without causing battery anxiety, thanks to efficient power management. Whether scrolling through social media, streaming videos on Netflix or YouTube, or enjoying occasional gaming, it keeps up reliably.

Even during my 2000km drive, using the phone as my GPS with reliable accuracy, the battery remained stable with gradual drain. It also stayed cool, a reassuring improvement over some previous phones I’ve used.

Honestly, being used to faster charging, I found the 33W charger somewhat slow. It’s not a major complaint, but charging to 100% takes well over an hour, which may feel sluggish by 2025 standards.

That said, the 33W charging is sufficient for a decent top-up before heading out.

VERDICT

In recent years, budget phones under Rs. 20,000 ($250) have matured offering solid performance, reliable batteries, capable cameras, and vibrant displays for seamless daily use.

Yet, the CMF Phone 2 Pro stands out with its well-rounded performance and smooth, bloat-free experience—a rarity at this price—making it a good daily driver.

The phone comes with a stunning display, unique design, dependable battery, and good performance, though the ultra-wide lens and mono speaker fall short.

Ultimately, the CMF Phone 2 Pro delivers good value and a delightful experience, marking its place as an affordable smartphone that most won’t regret choosing.

It offers up to 48dB hybrid ANC and features 6 HD microphones with Clear Voice Technology 3.0 and Wind Noise Reduction 3.0. Battery life peaks at 55 hours without ANC and 32 hours with ANC. It also supports adaptive ANC, transparency mode, and touch controls, alongside an IP55 rating for the earbuds.

CMF Buds 2 Pro

At the top end, the CMF Buds 2 Plus includes Hi-Res LDAC audio codec support, a 12mm dynamic driver with LCP and PU diaphragm, Personal Sound Profile, Ultra Bass Technology 2.0, and Spatial Audio Effect. It offers up to 50dB hybrid ANC and hearing compensation. The Buds 2 Plus features 6 HD microphones with Clear Voice Technology 3.0 and Wind Noise Reduction 3.0. Battery life reaches 61.5 hours without ANC and 33 hours with ANC. It also supports low-latency Game Mode (under 105 ms with Nothing Phones), in-ear detection, and fast charging.

All three models feature Bluetooth 5.4, dual connection support, Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair, and touch controls. Users can customize settings via the Nothing X app, including integration with ChatGPT for voice command features. However, unlike the Buds Pro series, these models do not include a Smart Dial control on the case.

Nothing’s sub-brand CMF has officially launched the CMF Phone 2 Pro globally, with a major event held in India. Designed as a budget-friendly mid-range smartphone, the CMF Phone 2 Pro builds on its predecessor with several improvements, focusing on delivering better value and features.

The CMF Phone 2 Pro features a modular back design, but this time the back is fully sealed to make the phone slimmer and more water-resistant. Accessories can still be attached directly onto the phone or through the universal back cover, which screws onto the device.

The phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro 5G processor, built on a 4nm process, with an 8-core CPU clocked up to 2.5GHz. The phone supports 120 FPS high frame rate mode in BGMI and 90 FPS high frame rate mode in PUBG.

The CMF branding and certification marks are also placed on the bottom half. Like the previous model, the Phone 2 Pro is expected to include a screwdriver in the box.

The CMF Phone 2 Pro packs a telephoto lens—a rare camera hardware in the mid-range segment—alongside a beefy MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro chipset. These upgrades make the “Pro” name feel well-earned.

A 2x telephoto, similar to the Nothing Phone 3a

Nothing spilled the camera details on Flipkart and through a company exec, confirming a 50 MP wide-angle lens with a 1/1.57” sensor (same as Nothing Phone 3a), a 50 MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and an 8 MP ultra-wide lens with a 119.5° field of view.

The size of the telephoto and ultrawide sensors is under wraps at the moment. Compared to the CMF Phone 1’s 50 MP wide-angle and 2 MP depth sensor, this feels like a significant leap. In a silent move, Nothing has announced a pair of budget truly wireless earbuds from its CMF sub-brand. The CMF Buds were teased alongside the CMF Phone 2 Pro in the recent past. But now, it has officially been announced in the global market. So here are its specs, features, pricing, and more.

CMF Buds 2: What specs does it offer?

Similar to its predecessor, the CMF Buds 2 features a customizable dial on its charging case for volume and playback controls. Users can customize this dial via the Nothing X app, which also offers tuning for the earbuds’ ANC (Active Noise Cancellation and other key features. The earbuds house a single PMI (Polymethacrylimide) driver and support SBC and AAC codecs via Bluetooth 5.4. The company offers Ultra Bass Technology 2.0 and Spatial Audio effects as well.

Thanks to its 6-mic setup, the CMF Buds 2 features up to 48 decibels of Hybrid ANC (supporting range of up to 5200Hz) and Clear Voice Technology 3.0 for better calling quality. On a single full charge, these can offer up to 55 hours of audio playback. It also supports quick charge which allows for 7.5 hours of playtime from just 10 minutes of charging. Other notable features include ChatGPT integration, touch controls, Dual Connection, a Low Lag Mode (under 110ms), and IP55 rated buds with an IPX2 rated charging case.

Pricing and Availability

Nothing announced the CMF Buds 2 in three color options, namely Orange, Dark Gray, and Light Green. It is available in the US for 59 US Dollars, while its UK and Europe pricing is set at 39 GBP and 49.95 Euros, respectively.

Nothing is gearing up to unveil the new CMF Phone 2 Pro soon. The upcoming smartphone is a mid range device from Nothing’s sub brand and has yet to be officially announced. However, a fresh sighting on a popular benchmarking platform has revealed some of its key specs. So let’s check it out.

CMF Phone 2 Pro visits GeekBench

The CMF Phone 2 Pro was spotted on GeekBench by 91Mobiles. This revealed certain specs and features of the new smartphone. It carries the Nothing A0001 model number and can be seen running on the Nothing OS custom skin based Android 15 out of the box. Looking at the benchmark results, the CMF Phone 2 Pro managed to achieve a score of 1012 points in the single core test and 2939 points in the multi core test.

This model managed to achieve these figures thanks to an unknown octa core chipset, which features four performance cores with a maximum frequency of 2.5GHz and four efficiency cores clocked at 2.0GHz. The chipset is paired with the Arm Mali 615 MC2 GPU. Based on these details, the CMF Phone 2 Pro could be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC. Although, this is still just speculation at the moment.

Nothing is planning on launching the CMF Phone 2 Pro along with the CMF Buds 2, Buds 2a, and Buds 2 Plus on 28th April 2025. A recent leak also hinted at the smartphone arriving with a charging brick in India. This is all the information we have at the moment, so stick around for more.

CMF by Nothing has finally revealed the launch date for its upcoming smartphone along with a couple of its new truly wireless earbuds. The CMF Phone 2 Pro, CMF Buds 2 Plus, CMF Buds 2, and CMF Buds 2a are set to debut later this month, so here’s what we know so far.

CMF Phone 2 Pro, CMF Buds 2 Series Launch Date

In the latest teaser, the company confirmed that the upcoming mid range smartphone and TWS earbuds will be announced on 28th April 2025. This marks the second smartphone launch from CMF following the CMF Phone 1, which debuted back in 2023. Apart from revealing the launch date, the image poster also showcases the camera layout for the rear sensors. It appears that there are three shooters at the back along with an LED flash module.

In one of the previous teasers, CMF revealed that it is working on a new textured back with a tactile finish for the CMF Phone 2. The image shared a close up of the device with a sleek finish and a metallic screw in one corner. So the customizability is being retained over its predecessor. There has been a render mock up that does showcase the possible design but these are still unconfirmed at the moment. Based on what we know so far, the CMF Phone 2 could have a MediaTek Dimensity chip and may sport a smaller 6.3-inch display.

Alongside this smartphone, the company is set to announce the CMF Buds 2, CMF Buds 2 Plus, and CMF Buds 2a. These are the successors to the original CMF Buds and will likely arrive at multiple price points. Back in February 2025, the Buds Plus model surfaced on the FCC database, revealing its design, dimensions, battery capacity (53mAh earbuds, 460mAh charging case), and charging speeds (3W). Nothing might be working on new CMF products

The company shared a tweet with an image on its official community forums. Here, Nothing shared images of four Pokemons, which included Bulbasaur, Girafarig, Hoothoot, and Gligar. It seems that the Bulbasaur here is the codename of an upcoming budget smartphone, which might just be the CMF Phone 2. Meanwhile, the other three codenames might be related to a smartwatch from the same brand, TWS earbuds, and possibly neckband earphones. The brand’s first ever Nothing Phone (1) had also featured the word ‘Pokemon’ as an easter egg.

To recall, the CMF Buds 2 Plus was spotted on the FCC database last month. This revealed its design schematics, dimensions, battery, and more details. The upcoming earbuds appear to have a design similar to the CMF Buds Pro 2. But one major addition in terms of its body is the Smart Dial, which could offer enhanced multifunctionality compared to the original CMF Buds. These weigh 105 grams and pack a 460mAh battery on the charging case and 53mAh cell on each earbud.

The FCC certification confirmed support for 3W charging and Bluetooth Low Energy for connectivity. In related news, the CMF Phone 1 was apparently involved in the death of one and injuring another after the smartphone blasted in India. Nothing’s sub-brand, CMF, is reportedly working on its next TWS earbuds, the CMF Buds 2 Plus. The company has launched the CMF Buds Pro, CMF Buds, and Buds Pro 2 so far.

The upcoming Buds 2 Plus has recently appeared on the FCC certification website, which reveals key details about its design, battery, and features. While it’s unclear whether the Buds 2 Plus will succeed the original CMF Buds (released back in March 2024), the certification hints at notable upgrades within a familiar design language.

CMF Buds 2 Plus details

The CMF Buds 2 Plus (model number B184) will feature a square-shaped case with a rotating dial, similar to the CMF Buds Pro 2. This dial, expected to be called the ‘Smart Dial,’ will allow users to adjust volume, control playback, and customize settings, offering enhanced functionality compared to the original CMF Buds.

The case also bears the ‘CMF by Nothing’ branding at the bottom right corner, maintaining the brand’s minimalist aesthetic.

In terms of dimensions, the case measures 73mm x 64mm and weighs 105 grams. The earbuds themselves feature a semi-in-ear design. Although it’s unclear if they will include silicone ear tips. Each earbud is powered by a 53mAh battery, while the case packs a 460mAh one.

The case of the upcoming Buds 2 Plus supports 3W input and 1.2W output, which means each earbud charges at 0.6W. Judging from the battery capacity, it should result in a decently fast charging speed. The Buds 2 Plus will also support Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity, which ensures seamless pairing and efficient operation.

While other details remain under wraps, the Buds 2 Plus could potentially launch alongside the Nothing Phone (3a) series on March 4. More information is expected to be revealed as we inch closer to the launch. To recall, the CMF Buds Pro 2 currently retails at Rs 4,299, while the original CMF Buds are available for Rs 2,499.

A man in Maharashtra, India, died tragically on Sunday after a Nothing sub-brand CMF Phone 1 exploded in his pocket while he was riding a motorcycle. Another person on the bike sustained serious injuries, according to reports from Marathi news channel ABP Majha.

The details surrounding the incident remain limited at this time. ABP Majha reports that the phone, which was purchased just over a month ago, exploded in the victim’s pocket while he was riding, causing him to lose control of the motorcycle. This led to the fatal accident, while the other person suffered injuries.

The cause of the explosion is still under investigation. However, according to reports from different sources, the phone’s battery might have been the culprit. 

It’s concerning, to say the least, especially considering the CMF Phone 1 was only launched in July 2024. Nothing has yet to comment publicly on the incident.

This is the first reported incident of a CMF Phone 1 explosion, but smartphone blasts are not uncommon. In the past, similar cases have involved brands like OnePlus, and even an iPhone 14 Pro Max exploded while charging just last November.

This incident is a reminder for all smartphone users to prioritize safety. Keep these essential tips in mind:

CMF, Nothing’s sub-brand is bringing a special update to celebrate the festival of light with its Indian fans. The brand has introduced three new Diwali themed watch faces for its CMF Watch Pro and Watch Pro 2 wearables. CMF’s smartwatches are getting watch faces inspired by the festival, which includes an Oil Lamp, Lotus, and Dancing Lady. The Oil Lamp and Lotus feature a digital clock style, while the Dancing Lady Face features an analog clock style.

As of right now, the three watch faces are already rolling out for Watch Pro and Watch Pro 2 users in India. For those interested, you can access these special watch faces via the CMF By Nothing Watch App. The CMF Watch Pro 2 was announced globally back in July 2024, while the first Watch Pro was launched last year in September. The Watch Pro 2 sports a 1.32-inch circular AMOLED display with a 466 x 466 resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, and 620 nits of peak brightness.

The listing reveals the charger’s specifications and price, but like last time, we couldn’t find the charger on CMF’s India or global site. This might be another premature listing, but we have all the details. So here’s what the Nothing 100W GaN charger offers.

The 100W GaN charger boasts a compact design measuring just 61.5mm x 60.5mm x 30mm. It uses a two-pin connector and has three ports, including one USB Type-A and two USB Type-C, for simultaneous charging of multiple devices. 

The charger leverages GaN (Gallium Nitride) technology, which is known for its efficiency and heat management capabilities. Additionally, it has nine safety mechanisms, including protection against overheating, short circuits, excessive current, and leakage. This should offer peace of mind when powering your devices.

According to Nothing, the charger can top up a CMF Phone 1 to 62% in just 30 minutes, with similar performance for the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus.

Compatibility extends beyond Nothing products; you can use it to re-fuel your laptops, including MacBooks. That means, the charger supports the PD 3.1 protocol. Nothing, however, is not specific about the power output of each port when used individually or simultaneously. 

Price and Availability

Currently, the charger is listed on Flipkart without an official announcement from Nothing or its CMF sub-brand. It’s priced at Rs 3,499 and is available for purchase in a Dark Grey variant.

Nothing is likely preparing to launch a new 140W GaN charger under its sub-brand, CMF. While the company hasn’t officially announced anything about it, a new listing on Flipkart suggests the launch is imminent.

The listing, shared by a user on X (formerly Twitter), shows the charger in a matte black finish with the CMF logo and a 140W GaN inscription. It features two USB Type-C ports and one USB Type-A port on a two-pin design.

A poster accompanying the listing highlights the charger’s specifications. It mentions nine safety mechanisms and intelligent power distribution, though there’s no mention of the specific power output for each port individually or when used together.

However, the poster confirms that the charger supports PD 3.1 protocol and can charge two laptops simultaneously. For instance, it can charge a MacBook Pro to 55% in just 30 minutes.

For Nothing’s smartphones, including the CMF Phone 1 and Nothing Phone (2a), the charger can power them to 66% in 30 minutes.

As for the price, the listing shows an EMI plan of Rs 294 per month for 24 months. Based on it, the total cost comes in at around Rs 7,000, but that’s likely factoring in the interest. 

We couldn’t find the listing for the charger on Flipkart, but a user in the original post suggests the charger is priced at Rs 6,000 for the Indian market.

It’s not clear when the company will launch the adapter, but there’s a Nothing event scheduled for September 24th – tomorrow – where the company is expected to unveil its first open-ear earbuds. The charger might also debut at this event.

And note that, it’s not the first GaN charger under the Nothing by CMF brand. There’s already a 65W model that the company launched last year for Rs 2,999 in India or some USD 49 in the US.

Nothing‘s sub-brand CMF has released the second software update for its debut smartphone, the CMF Phone 1, a month after the Initial update. The first update got rid of some issues, improved the camera quality, and introduced a few new features including the July Android security patch.

The CMF by Nothing Watch Pro 2, a wearable launched in July 2024, is receiving a new software update. Version 1.0.0.51 is rolling out in phases to users, bringing a mix of minor tweaks and a single key feature: Google Health Connect integration – but only for Android users.

The update changelog details a series of optimizations. Incoming call notifications now have a revised light animation, while the presentation of weekly temperature data has been adjusted for better clarity. CMF by Nothing recently introduced its first smartphone, the CMF Phone 1, which quickly became a hit. The brand sold over 100,000 units within just 3 hours of the live sales event, and the device went out of stock soon after its launch in India. The brand has now announced that a restock will occur tomorrow on Flipkart.

The restock is set for July 19 and will begin at 12 AM. The brand will also provide an instant discount of ₹1,000 for Axis Bank users, bringing the effective starting price down to ₹14,999. Without any discounts, the phone will be priced at ₹15,999.

CMF Phone 1 Specifications:

The CMF Phone 1 features a 6.67-inch display with FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and excellent brightness for outdoor visibility, along with a fingerprint reader.

The phone’s design is customizable, sporting a camera module and four screws on the back panel. This allows users to swap out back covers in Light Green, Blue, or Orange, and attach accessories like a stand or lanyard using a special dial and the included screwdriver.

On July 8, Nothing‘s sub-brand CMF launched its first smartphone in the global market called the CMF Phone 1. The device was recently made available for purchase and sold more than 100,000 units in just 3 hours. Users have reported that the brand has pushed out the first OTA update for the device.

This update is 120MB in size and includes multiple camera improvements, bug fixes, and some new features. We have included the detailed changelog below.
