Xiaomi has officially unveiled its Vision Gran Turismo (GT) concept hypercar, making its debut in the Vision Gran Turismo project. This initiative, created by Gran Turismo producer Kazunori Yamauchi, invites automakers to design futuristic concept cars for the popular PlayStation racing game Gran Turismo 7. Xiaomi is the first technology brand to join this elite group, which includes companies like Ferrari, Porsche, and Mercedes-Benz.

The Xiaomi Vision GT adopts a futuristic, aerodynamics-focused design with a sleek teardrop-shaped cockpit and a body shaped by air ducts and cutouts for a lightweight, dynamic look. It features a light blue finish with matching accented wheels, a halo-style taillight that also functions as an air outlet, and bold styling elements such as scissor doors, a shark-fin roof, T-shaped headlights, and a large rear diffuser.

The car achieves a drag coefficient of 0.29 and generates a downforce of -1.2. Xiaomi introduced innovations like the Active Wake Control System and Accretion Rims to optimize airflow and improve aerodynamic efficiency.

The hypercar is powered by Xiaomi’s 900V Silicon Carbide platform, which supports nearly 1,900 horsepower. It uses advanced components such as carbon-ceramic brakes and center-lock wheels to handle the immense power.

Xiaomi designed the Vision GT’s interior around comfort and technology, featuring a cocoon-like Sofa Racer cabin where the dashboard, seats, and doors blend seamlessly. It includes a butterfly-shaped steering wheel with an integrated display, a panoramic screen, and the Xiaomi Pulse system that uses light and sound for interaction.

The car also connects to Xiaomi’s Human x Car x Home ecosystem, enabling adaptive and personalized experiences based on the driver’s mood and behavior. The concept is on display at MWC 2026 in Barcelona and will soon be available for players in Gran Turismo 7.

At MWC, Xiaomi also announced the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Pad 8, and Pad 8 Pro.

At CES 2024, Lenovo unveiled an innovative wireless keyboard and mouse set that utilizes mechanical energy and solar power for charging, eliminating the need for conventional charging methods. This system called the Mechanical Energy Harvesting Combo, combines mechanical movement and solar irradiation to sustain the power requirements of these peripherals.

Lenovo’s concept keyboard boasts a slim solar panel for efficient solar energy capture. It also includes a unique circular fidget button that, when rotated for around five minutes, generates enough energy for approximately 30 minutes of typing. This feature serves as a convenient alternative power source when solar energy is not accessible.

Similarly, the mouse in this kit is equipped with an innovative feature: a built-in hand crank. Extending and winding this crank for just a minute can provide up to 30 minutes of battery life for active usage. This feature ensures that the mouse remains functional even in environments lacking solar exposure.

Although keyboards and mice generally have low power requirements, the integration of these energy-harvesting technologies in Lenovo’s concept represents a significant step forward in sustainable and user-friendly design. It demonstrates that even small, everyday devices can contribute to reducing dependency on traditional power sources.

Lenovo’s concept keyboard and mouse also offer Bluetooth and 2.4G dual-mode connectivity for versatile pairing with various devices. Lenovo claims extended battery life when using Bluetooth, but specific technical specifications, including battery life details, have not been officially disclosed for these peripherals.

Lenovo has not announced any intentions to release the showcased concept of a solar and mechanical energy-powered keyboard and mouse set from CES 2024.

Triumph Motor Company, a name that hasn’t been associated with car production for nearly four decades, has made a remarkable return with an awe-inspiring design concept known as the Triumph TR25. Unveiled by the esteemed Makkina design house, this electric vehicle concept pays homage to the record-breaking Triumph TR2 MCV575 “Jabbeke” from 1953. The TR25 draws design inspiration from the TR2, incorporating several styling elements reminiscent of its iconic predecessor. Notably, the headlights feature a prominent “25” in the center, symbolizing Makkina’s 25th anniversary. While the concept retains the minimalist exterior, it possesses a more modern aesthetic with short overhangs, large wheels, and sharp creases over the fenders.

The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.8 seconds

At the rear, sleek vertical taillights take centre stage, gracefully framing the Triumph word mark. The clean and straightforward design ethos extends to the driver-focused single-seat cabin. However, for those seeking to share the experience, an optional flip-out jump seat is available for a passenger.

Makkina has adopted a minimalist approach to the cabin, featuring a simple binnacle behind the steering wheel that displays key information like battery range, road speed, and charge level. The spoked steering wheel pays homage to the “Jabbeke” while incorporating modern technology, including a self-centring dial that provides vital vehicle information and access to the navigation system.

Underneath its captivating exterior, the TR25 utilizes the BMW i3s platform, with BMW having acquired the trademark for the Triumph Motor Company and collaborating with Makkina on this project. While specific powertrain details for the design concept were not disclosed, the BMW i3s boasts an AC electric motor delivering 181 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 6.8 seconds and offers an EPA-rated range of up to 153 miles on a single charge.

Although BMW bid farewell to the i3 at the end of 2022 after selling 250,000 units over nine years, the Triumph TR2 MVC575 “Jabbeke” continues to hold its historical significance. This legendary vehicle set the land speed record for production cars under 2.0 liters in May 1953, equipped with streamlined enhancements such as an under shield, rear wing splats, and a metal cockpit cover. Today, the original TR2 “Jabbeke” proudly resides in the esteemed British Motor Museum.

Lenovo is one of the world’s largest laptop makers and the company has been actively launching new devices every now and then. To remain among the top laptop makers, the company needs to experiment and it is now showcasing one such experiment.

The China-based company has showcased Lenovo MOZI, a concept laptop that features a built-in projector and retractable keyboard. It has also revealed that the device has won the Red Dot Design Award.

Lenovo has shared only one image of this new concept laptop which showcases the pull-out design of the keyboard. The main body of the laptop also has a projection module to project the display on a wall.

Currently, the company has not revealed anything related to the specifications of this new concept laptop. It is also not known if Lenovo plans to mass-produce this device to make it available for the customers to purchase.

Red Dot introduced the device as a smart laptop that displays images through low-light projection. It is equipped with a computer unit, a projection unit, and a separate screen. It added that inspired by its innovative projection, MOZI can be used without a monitor, saving resources and enhancing the usefulness of the notebook.

XPG has just announced a new gaming peripheral concept. It’s a gaming mouse with RGB lighting, which doesn’t really make it any different from the thousands of options available in the market. So what’s the concept aspect of this mouse? Well, the company has just slapped a 1TB SSD storage into it.

For those unaware, XPG is the gaming and esports subbrand of the Chinese memory maker ADATA. Its subsidiary makes a number of gaming related products, and now, its latest concept pushes the boundaries of the norm. This new gaming mouse is called the XPG Vault Gaming Mouse Concept, which arrives with built in SSD storage. While mouse featuring storage is not unheard of, with many offering small storage to carry macros and other preferences of the gamer, the Vault takes it to another level entirely.

As the name suggests, it is quite literally a vault. Imagine your mouse being able to store 1TB worth of games, “to make your gaming libraries conveniently portable” (Via TheVerge). Notably, the company added that its “current prototype can integrate up to 1TB of Solid State memory running at 985MB/s.” It even supports USB Type C connectivity since it is a wired mouse. With 1TB worth of storage, one can store some modern titles and even carry a number of movies with them at all times.

Simply connecting to any laptop would have you gain access to these as well. Unfortunately, the company just announced this concept through a press release and did not reveal any finer details regarding this gaming mouse. However, this is set to be showcased during the CES 2022 event, so we can expect to catch a peek at this at the event. But considering that it is a concept in its prototype stage, it might just be a side project that never takes off or sees commercial release. Although, it is still quite an interesting kind of gaming mouse and definitely has a unique identity.

Xiaomi has just unveiled a new smart product concept. The new gadget is a Smart Glass that offers various features like calling, navigation, and even houses a camera for live translation and taking pictures.

According to the Chinese tech giant’s spokesperson, the brand has no plans on selling these smart glasses as of right now. Although, it did reveal a lot of information and shared videos that hints at what a possible smart eyewear from the company could offer in the future. The smart glasses sports a relatively conventional design but arrives with a monochrome MicroLED display alongside AR features. The brand opted for this display technology due to its “higher pixel density and longer lifespan while having a simpler structure” when compared to OLED.

Furthermore, Xiaomi added that MicroLED displays also “allows for a more compact display, as well as easier screen integration.” While the new display technology has been touted to be a possible successor to OLEDs, it is quite expensive and have only been seen in just a few commercial products. As per official notes, the display has a size of “grain of rice” with its dimensions being 2.4mm x 2.02mm, with a peak brightness of 2 million nits. This high brightness won’t completely reach the user’s eye and is offered to make the information being displayed visible even in direct sunlight.

As per video teasers from the company, we can see various scenarios where the new smart glasses concept would come in handy. This includes live translation, real time navigation, notifications right on the display, and other useful functions as well. Notably, the smart glasses can function without a smartphone and is independent as it is an Android device itself. It sports an unknown quad core Arm processor, with support for WiFi, Bluetooth, houses a battery, and a 5 megapixel camera while just weighing 51 grams.

BMW has just offered us a glimpse of the future with another new concept car. This time, the company showcased the new i Vision Circular concept vehicle that is completely recyclable.

During the Munich Auto Show, the German automobile giant revealed the i Vision Circular concept that is meant to be a electric city car that is made from reusable materials and is 100 percent recyclable as well. As per the company, the battery used in the car is an all solid state battery, which is “100% recyclable and manufactured almost entirely using materials sourced from the recycling loop.” To make sure it is completely recyclable, the brand doesn’t use any paint, leather, chrome, or any other materials that cannot be reused.

Furthermore, the BMW i Vision Circular also “avoids bonded connections or composite materials and uses intelligent types of connection, such as cords, press studs and quick-release fasteners.” In other words, this means that the vehicle houses various parts that are easily detachable and replaceable, which could theoretically be dismantled with “just one single tool.” As of right now, the viability of such a vehicle, especially in regards to road safety standards is questionable, but this car is apparently an imagination of automobiles in 2040.

The design of the new concept car is quite unique but still retains some of the iconic designs that the company is known for. Additionally, the body is made largely of gold anodized recycled aluminum and the color at the rear is “created by the heat treatment process used for the steel.” Even the slightly transparent tires are made from “sustainably cultivated” natural rubber.

BMW, the company known for its luxury cars, has lately been focusing on electric vehicles and has revealed several concepts over the past few years. In the latest move, the firm has unveiled a new concept — BMW CE 02 mini-bike.

The BMW CE 02, which is revealed just a week before the IAA Mobility Conference in the company’s home market Germany, is a two-wheeler that resembles the CE 04 concept bike which the company plans to start producing.

It has a minimalist look in silver and black colors with “technoid typography.” There’s a circular LED headlight as well as a small display sitting between the handlebars for displaying information like speed and battery status.

Interestingly, the company has opted to make it a simple digital display for necessary information, without the need to connect the bike to a smartphone or an application, which is frankly refreshing to hear at a time when everything is getting connected to the phone.

The product packs an 11kW belt-driven motor that can reach a top speed of 90kmph (approximately 55 miles per hour). While the company has not revealed the battery capacity, it has shared that a fully charged battery in CE 02 can provide a range of 90 kilometers. The whole package weighs 120 kilograms (approximately 265 pounds).

It appears that BMW is trying to position this product as a missing link between a scooter and a motorcycle, and is focusing on urban youngsters.

Although this is just a concept product from BMW, there’s a chance that it could actually go into production. If that happens, then there will be a few changes to its design as the company will need to add license plates, turn signals, reflectors, and fenders.

Earlier this week, GM (General Motors) unveiled a new futuristic self driving car. This was a new Cadillac imagined by the automobile maker, which is even capable of flying and can carry a passenger through the skies.

According to a Reuters report, the new flying Cadillac is autonomous and can even land and take off vertically. As per a senior executive from the company, the new concept vehicle is a “reimagining the future of personal transportation.” The flying Cadillac from GM can only carry a single passenger and is technically more akin to a VTOL drone (Vertica Take off and Landing). It will be capable of flying from one urban rooftop to another and can reach speeds of up to 55 miles per hour as well.

The vehicle is fully autonomous and all electric and is powered by a 90KW motor. This battery is a GM Ultium battery back, which is housed in an ultra lightweight body with pairs of motors. The company unveiled the new concept car in a video as a part of its virtual keynote presentation, which had Chief Executive Mary Barra reveal the futuristic flying car along with a family friendly Cadillac electric shuttle.

Back in 2020, the senior executive had revealed that GM is exploring alternative methods of transportation, which included aerial taxis. GM design chief Mike Simcoe further added that “VTOL is key to GM’s vision for a multimodal future,” and he believes that the vehicle can be “the Cadillac of urban air mobility” as well. At the moment, no finer details regarding the vehicle are currently known, but the company did state that it is “arriving soon” with lounge like seating, biometric sensors, voice controls, and hand gesture support as well.

OPPO has unveiled yet another concept smartphone, this time it features a triple-folding design. The device has been conceptualized in partnership with Japanese design studio Nendo and it’s not just the smartphone but the Chinese company has also announced some of the accessories.

The company has unveiled designs for a bunch of products that are being referred to as “music-link” which is basically a collection of devices centered around a pair of True Wireless Earphones. Apart from that, it also includes a smartwatch, AI speaker, portable charger, and a wireless charger that all work together seamlessly.

OPPO says that all these devices can interact with each other and compliments each other in several different ways. For instance, the wireless charger has a recessed space that can hold the earbuds and on top of that, a portable charger can be attached.

The company also says that when the earphones and the portable charging case are placed on the AI speaker, the music seamlessly transitions from the headphones to the speaker. OPPO claims that the design reinforces the company’s human-centric design philosophy.

Do note that just like the OPPO Slide-Phone unveiled by the company, these accessories are also concept at this point in time and are not yet launched commercially. But it’s pretty evident that the company has some cool products up its sleeves and we expect some interesting offerings in the near future.

Huawei P40 series is one of the most anticipated lineups of the first half of 2020. After the immense success of the P30 Pro, the upcoming series has some pretty big shoes to fill. And according to the latest rumors, we can expect to see an even more powerful camera setup on the P40 lineup. One of the biggest changes this year is the presence of an additional premium variant in the P series lineup. In addition to the P40 and the P40 Pro devices, we could also see a P40 Pro Premium handset that’ll be the most powerful model in the series this year. The Premium model is said to feature five cameras at the back instead of the four sensors that’ll be found on the P40 Pro and non-Pro variants.

Today, Waqar Khan has brought the P40 Pro Premium design to life with a concept video. We know it’s the Premium edition because of the Penta camera setup at the back. The concept video showcases the phone’s curved screen up front as well as dual punch-hole cameras on the top left corner. Clearly, it looks like 2019 will be the year of the punch-hole shooter given how companies are freely embracing the design on their new models.

The Penta camera setup at the back will be placed in a rectangular housing at the back. Honestly, I don’t mind seeing this design come to reality, given how I personally find it pretty refined. However, note that the Huawei P40 Pro Premium’s camera setup will protrude quite significantly, much like most premium smartphones launched lately, including the OnePlus 7T.

The five cameras at the back should feature an 8MP 240mm periscope lens with 10x optical zoom, a 52MP 1/1.3″ sensor, a 40MP cine camera, and a 3D ToF sensor. The fifth sensor could be a dedicated macro camera, but we don’t have specific details right now.

The Huawei P40 Pro is expected to launch sometime in March this year.

While we are waiting for the alleged Nokia 9 to show up at MWC 2018 in Barcelona, the first rumors about Nokia 10 have already started to surface. The first image regarding this device has been posted on Baidu: it is a schematic image which shows the rear camera of the alleged flagship that will be launched by HMD Global in H2 2018. According to the image, the handset sports a revolver-like camera which is composed of six sensors in a circular configuration. At the center of the circle, there seems to be a LED flash, while each of the sensors seems to be coupled with a secondary flash LED.

Under the incredible camera setup of the Nokia 10, there is a fingerprint reader which makes us think that it will be not embedded in the display through the latest chip announced by Synaptics. Note that this is not an official image and we cannot guarantee its authenticity. In fact, it would really be hard to get a design like this in a commercial smartphone, but it’s definitely worth checking out the schematics of such a design.

If such a design exists, then the lens should obviously be co-developed with Zeiss, as the company has collaborated with Zeiss since the age of feature phones and it has renewed the cooperation in the second half of 2017. Other rumored specs of the alleged Nokia 10 include the presence of an 18:9 display with narrow bezels, just like most of the most important flagships launched in the last year.

Under the hood, the phone is expected to feature an octa-core Snapdragon 845 SoC, which is the most powerful mobile chip launched by Qualcomm. It is composed of 8x Kryo 385 CPUs running at a max frequency of 2.8 GHz and an Adreno 630 GPU. It also has a dedicated module for artificial intelligence and machine learning, and it includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon X20 LTE modem which can reach a max download speed of 2.2 Gbps.

YouTuber ‘Concept Creator’ released a concept video showing what the Nokia Edge may appear to be like if released. A quick summary of the device shows a bezel-less display with truly zero-bezel sides and super narrow top and bottom bezels on the display.

The general geometry and design of the phone appear to be inspired by Sony’s Xperia XZ with clean straight-cut top and bottom without any curved corners. The edges of the phone loosely resemble Nokia’s preceding Lumia models such as the Lumia 920 and Lumia 1020, with neatly rounded sides, whilst ignoring the tapering back its predecessors had.

Another interesting feature is the curved display that the conceptual model shows, although currently unusual for Nokia to adopt this feature, with current market trends and demand proved relatively high for curved screens like Samsung’s S8 or Xiaomi’s Mi Note 2.

Never the less, this conceptual device expresses a very sleek design (notably because of its bezels). What’s also notable is Nokia’s Iconic Logo imprinted at the bottom of the phone’s bezel. The single rear-firing camera also shows the relationship with previous design accents Nokia’s Lumia device had, with the sleek Nokia and Carl Zeiss branding accompanying the shooter.

In terms of color, the conceptual designer has included options of a black, light blue and dark blue options, which fit with Nokia’s current color theme. The video doesn’t clearly show what the material the device is cladded with, a logical guess would be a form of metal.

On the bottom end of the device there’s a USB C port (keeping up with current technology) with a set of grills located on both sides of the port, expectedly one being a microphone and the other speaker.

Interestingly, there is no physical home button on either the front or back of the device.
