Rumors of these new color options began circulating shortly after the Xiaomi 13 Ultra launch event. Netizens discovered that the device recognition feature on QQ showed six different color options for the phone, despite only three being released at the time.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra’s new color options

Many speculated that the additional color options were abandoned during the development process, but recent developments suggest otherwise. Several netizens have reportedly extracted new color options from the Xiaomi 13 Ultra firmware, revealing Orange, Yellow, and Blue options.

These new color options may be released as limited edition customization options for Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Lei Jun, Founder and CEO of Xiaomi, has also been promoting the limited edition customization feature on his Weibo account, hinting at the possibility of these new color options becoming available in the future.

The release of these new color options will undoubtedly cater to the different preferences of Xiaomi 13 Ultra users, allowing them to showcase the phone’s unique design without a protective case. However, it is worth noting that using the phone without a protective case may result in screen damage from accidental drops.

Screen repairs for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra can be costly, with a price tag of 1360 yuan and an additional 40 yuan for labor. As such, users should take caution when handling their phones and consider investing in a protective case to avoid potential damage.

The new firmware update adds support for smart voice assistants, including Google Assistant, Apple’s Siri, and Amazon’s Alexa to the device. The feature can be activated or triggered by triple-tapping the earbuds.

The company is rolling out firmware version 0.6700.1.86. With this update, the company has added a feature that will help the product compete against some popular TWS earbuds available in the market.

The official changelog for the firmware version 0.66700.1.86 lists the following:

Stronger connection between Ear (1) and third-party apps and laptops.

Optimised stability when switching between ‘multiple devices.

Voice assistant now available in gesture controls.

More accurate ear (1) battery display in the app.

Improved functionality of the In-Ear Detection switch in the app.

To update the Nothing Ear (1), open the Nothing app on the smartphone and navigate to Device Details > Firmware Update. Make sure that both earbuds are connected to the smartphone and have at least a 10% battery.

The Nothing Ear (1) true wireless earphones were first launched last year and since then, the firm has introduced a new black colored model and has also released a number of firmware updates that fixed some of the issues.

The earphones come with an in-ear design and some premium features, including Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency Mode, and Qi-compatible wireless charging support for the charging case along with the USB-C port.

It also comes with support for Fast Pairing in Android-powered devices but lacks support for iOS auto-pairing. The earbuds are also IPX4 rated for water resistance and the company is promising 24 hours of battery life with the charging case.

The feature was teased by Apple in June at WWDC and was set to be introduced along with the iOS 15. While the feature didn’t show up with the iOS 15, thankfully, the company didn’t take much longer after the delay.

With this new firmware update, the compatible AirPods models get functionality inside of the Find My app, including precise location, a new Nearby Finding UI, Lost Mode, and the ability to get notifications when the earbuds are left behind.

There’s also an AirTag-like Find Nearby interface but given that the products don’t come with the U1 chips installed, the feature isn’t quite as precise as with an AirTag. You won’t be getting arrows pointing towards them, but the onscreen prompts will show statuses like far, near, or “here” depending on how close you are.

Before you take advantage of the new feature, you will need to update your AirPods to the just-released firmware. This isn’t a straightforward process as you need to place the charged AirPods in the case and then place it near a connected phone.

To check the firmware version of your AirPods, go to the Settings on your iPhone/iPad and then navigate to General > About. There, choose AirPods and you will see a field labeled “firmware version.” The new firmware version with Find My support is 4A400.

The addition of AirPods Pro and AirPods Max in the Find My network means that they will now send out a continuous Bluetooth beacon message. When other Apple devices are in the area, they can detect this signal and report it to the Find My network, placing its location on the owner’s map.
