Samsung has rolled out the July 2023 security patch for its Galaxy S20 lineup, following the recent updates of its successors Galaxy S21, S22, and S23 series. The global update has been launched across various parts of the world including Asia, Europe, and Latin America.

The latest update brings important security enhancements to the Galaxy S20 series, consisting of the S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra models. Users can check for the update by going to Settings > Software Update on their devices.

According to Sammobile, the LTE Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ models in Latin America will be updated with firmware versions G98xFXXUHHWF1 and G98xFXXSIHWF7 respectively. On the other hand, the 5G variants of the Galaxy S20 series in the same region are receiving the update with firmware version G98xBXXSIHWF7. Meanwhile, the 5G variants of the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra in Asia and Europe are set to receive firmware version G98xBXXSIHWF6.

What’s new in this update?

Samsung’s July 2023 security patch addresses 90 security flaws in Galaxy devices, with 52 fixes contributed by Google and 38 developed by Samsung (SVEs). Among them, three are critical and 56 are high-priority vulnerabilities, while the rest pose moderate risks. Additionally, Samsung had already included three fixes in the June patch, now incorporated in the July patch by Google. The flaws spanned various areas, including manual package installation, audio system access control, UWB chipset identifier, broadcast SMS configuration, Galaxy Themes Service, Settings, and internal testing functions, exposing the devices to potential unauthorized code execution.

After updating devices like the Galaxy S20 FE and Galaxy Tab S7 series, Samsung is officially bringing the One UI 3.1 update to Galaxy S20 Series, Note 20 Series, Z Fold2, and Z Flip devices.

Samsung in a press release announced that it will bring the latest One UI 3.1 update to various flagship and mid-range series of devices. You can take a look at the list below:

Samsung launched the One UI 3.1 back when it announced the Galaxy S21 series of devices in January. These devices are the first ones to carry the UI out of the box. It then started updating the older devices by pushing the UI update via OTA(Over-The-Air).

Anyway, the latest update is rolling out to various regions in the UK, Europe(like Austria, Germany), and South Korea. If you are someone living in these regions, you can try out the new features by navigating to Software Update in Settings.

The One UI 3.1 brings features like Improved performance, Private Share, GPS location data removal on Images, more Lock screen widgets, Background Video Calling, Google Discover on Home Screen, Zoom Lock(in camera), and more.

That said, a report by Sammobile says that Samsung hasn’t brought the Google Discover, Google Messages to the devices with this update. This means it is still exclusive to the Galaxy S21 devices for now.

Users in other regions need not panic as Samsung will eventually roll out the update soon in the coming days. Also, in the news, Samsung has mentioned devices like the Galaxy A90, Galaxy A70, Galaxy A80, Galaxy A51, A71. We will have to wait for a few days to know when Samsung starts their rollout.

Samsung is busy perfecting it’s latest One UI 3.0 based on Android 11 with the beta program. The company, despite encountering several bugs, is on course to launch the stable build as soon as possible. And it might start tomorrow as a report says a stable version for Galaxy S20 is coming on December 3.

As reported by Tizenhelp, the Samsung support team has reportedly said that Samsung Galaxy S20 will get the stable version of One UI 3.0 based on Android 11 tomorrow i.e December 3. Accordingly, a screenshot shared by the report shows an alleged reply of a Samsung representative to a Korean user.

It says(Google Translated) that the schedule is on December 3 but information regarding this will appear on Samsung Members App. For the unware, Samsung is currently running a Beta program for the One UI 3.0. To try out the features, users will have to signup for it on the above-mentioned app under ‘One UI‘ banner. Coming back, the reply also includes a disclaimer that the update schedule may change even after the rollout. That is, it might get suspended if a bug is encountered.

This is understandable considering its Beta program hasn’t been that smooth, to say the least. Although the company was right on track, it encountered issues like battery drain, lock-screen bug.

However, after overcoming the issues, it has reportedly stopped Beta updates for S20, and Note 20 series already in South Korea. This further strengthens that stable update isn’t that far away. That said, as the report states, the reply is for a community member in South Korea.

This suggests that just like every OTA update, Samsung could initially release it in South Korea before expanding to other regions. Let’s wait and see if this turns out true tomorrow.

According to a PhoneArena report, a number of Samsung users have been facing this issue. This problem has even been shared on official and unofficial forums. The primary issue is related to the third party wireless chargers that have stopped working with their Galaxy Note 20 Ultra or Galaxy S20 Ultra handsets after the new update. Although, this problem has seemingly not affected the wireless chargers made by Samsung.

Apparently, the wireless charging problem is fixed by turning off NFC. This workaround was discovered by James Drissel on XDA Developers Forums and is the unofficial fix for the issue at the moment. Unfortunately, it still doesn’t explain how the problem began in the first place and an official update to fix the bug has yet to be rolled out. So stay tuned for more updates.

DXOMARK has released the display test results of the recently launched iPhone 12 Pro. And although it is two points short of topping the table, its touch accuracy seems to be poor compared to OnePlus 8 Pro.

Jumping right in, the iPhone 12 Pro scores 87 points overall in the DXOMARK Display test. With this, it shares 3rd place in the rankings alongside the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G. Currently, Samsung’s Note 20 Ultra 5G, which launched in August, tops the charts with 89 points. Thus, the iPhone 12 Pro misses out the crown by just 2 points.

Besides, it does well against the yesteryear iPhone 11 Pro Max which scores just 84 points. To compare, the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro have a smaller 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display compared to the iPhone 11 Pro Max‘s 6.5-inches. You can check out the rest of the specs below:

And are way behind OnePlus 8 Pro‘s 83 points. The latter sits at second in the rankings with an overall score of 88 points.

That said, talking about Pros, the device has good video brightness and contrast, smooth light transitions, good aliasing quality while gaming, and good image rendering under sunlight due to gamma.

As for Cons, it seems to have a Yellow cast in every activity, less luminance in dark lighting, low-light flickering, and more impact of Blue-light filter on brightness and color.

Android OEMs have been launching 5G smartphones for a while now. But Apple introduced its first 5G handsets in the form of the iPhone 12 series only a few days back. Even though the standard iPhone 12 is expected to become the world’s best-selling 5G smartphone in terms of revenue in the second half (H2) of 2020 beating the Galaxy S20+ 5G.

Strategy Analytics, one of the leading analytical firms has released a report on top-selling 5G smartphones in terms of revenue for the first half (H1) of 2020. Unsurprisingly, Samsung leads the chart with three devices, followed by Huawei.

As you can see from the picture, first place is occupied by the Galaxy S20+ 5G while the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G and Galaxy S20 5G have acquired second and third positions respectively. Whereas, the fourth and fifth places are captured by HUAWEI P40 Pro and HUAWEI Mate30 5G.

According to the report, the Galaxy S20+ 5G was popular in Western Europe, South Korea, North America, other regions. On the other hand, the two Huawei smartphones were widely popular in the company’s home country China.

Though the list does not include a single iPhone right now since the iPhone 11 series sold in H1 2020 is limited to 4G, the chart for H2 2020 is expected to be led by the regular iPhone 12. And possibly, other iPhone 12 models could also make it to the list.

Once the Galaxy Unpacked event ended yesterday, Samsung also announced Android 11-based One UI 3 Developer Beta for the Galaxy S20 series. Currently, the program is limited to South Korean and US variants of the handset. As for the latter, only T-Mobile/Sprint and Unlocked versions are eligible.

Samsung has been long known for delivering the latest Android update to its devices later than most brands. But lately, the company has improved a lot since it brought One UI, a revamped Android skin replacing Samsung Experience, which replaced TouchWiz.

Last year, the South Korean tech giant started One UI 2.0 developer beta a month later Google released Android 10. But in 2020, the company has already opened registrations for One UI 3 based on Android 11, which is yet to be released by Google.

Additionally, at the very end of launch event yesterday, Samsung also promised three generations of Android updates to its flagship smartphones from Galaxy S10 series.

That means the current-gen Samsung flagships will receive up to Android 13 and the last-gen devices will receive up to Android 12. Though the software support is not as good as on iPhones, it is surely better than in previous years.

Samsung has announced a new colorway for the Galaxy S20 Ultra in Vietnam. Called the Galaxy S20 Ultra White Limited Edition, The color is similar to the Cloud White variant that its siblings got recently.

The phone will sell for VND 29,990,000 (~$1289) beginning June 19, 2020, at CellPhone S stores. Those who pre-order will get a free Harman Kardon Auro Studio 3 Speaker worth more than VND 6,900,000 (~$297) and also get an instant VND 4,000,000 (~$172) cashback. The press release says those who will receive their orders between June 19 and June 21 will be eligible for an extra VND 3,000,000.

The Galaxy S20 Ultra White Limited Edition has a 6.9-inch QHD+ screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. There is an Exynos 990 processor inside but the RAM and storage weren’t revealed. Nevertheless, it should be 12GB RAM and 128GB of storage.

You also get a 108MP quad-camera setup on the back and a 40MP selfie camera. There is a 5000mAh battery under the hood with support for 45W fast charging and 15W fast wireless charging. It also has support for 9W reverse wireless charging.

The Galaxy S20 series is the most expensive Galaxy S series phones Samsung has launched till date. All three devices in the series – Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus, and Galaxy S20 Ultra are currently receiving a new update with May 2020 security patch and camera improvements.

The new update for Galaxy S20 series comes with build number G98xxXXU2ATE6. This is said to be the second update with May 2020 security patch for Samsung’s 2020 flagship smartphones. However, it is presently only available in the regions where the initial May 2020 security patch was not available.

Apart from the security patch, the new update is also said to improve camera performance on all three handsets. Sadly, there’s no concrete proof for it as like any other OTA update, it is being rolled out in batches across various regions.

So far, users who have received the update claim the latest build to have improved night mode performance. We will know more about the improvements as the update gets rolled out to more users in the coming days.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra underwent DxOMark Selfie test and scores a whopping 100 points, second only to Huawei P40 Pro with 103 points. Unlike the rear camera test, in which the phone ranks 7th with 122 points, the front camera performed much better in its own regard.

At the second position with 100 points on DxOMark Selfie, the Galaxy S20 Ultra ties with Huawei Nova 6 5G and is just one point ahead of Galaxy Note 10 Plus’ 99 points. According to the testers, the S20 Ultra’s front camera offers a stable performance making it a reliable option for selfie enthusiasts.

Talking about pictures from the front camera, the Galaxy S20 Ultra scores a record 87 points for exposure and contrast. The images out of the device have accurate exposures in all lighting conditions whether properly lit or dark. However, although colors are pleasant with accurate white balance and nice skin tones, it is generally inconsistent.

The focus performance is good enough and nothing extraordinary. The levels of the acutance are higher than iPhone 11 Pro Max but the depth of field is not as good as Apple’s because of the larger sensor.

The texture details are on point with the other top performers but the handset falls behind in low-light conditions. Artifacts are well-controlled but there are noticeable distortion, color quantization, anamorphosis of elements towards the edges, color fringing, and face rendering artifacts.

The flash performance is not as good as other high scorers as there are white balance color casts and visible noise in faces. Bokeh is great for a single selfie camera with good subject segmentation and minor edge artifacts.

The 4K 30fps video from the selfie camera on has accurate exposure just like images with high details, vivid colors, and wide depth of field. However, it suffers from autofocus issues, visible noise, cold white balance cast in outdoors, and other visible parameters like color quantization, hue shift, aliasing, and texture artifacts.

Overall, the  Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra performs well making it a go-to selfie camera phone for people who can afford it.

Earlier this week, the South Korean company revealed that the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G will soon arrive in a new color variant Cosmic White. Today, the company began with the sales of the Cosmic White edition of the smartphone.

In terms of appearance, the Galaxy S20 Ultra Cosmic White edition appear similar to the Galaxy S20’s Cloud White model that is only available in South Korea, the US (Verizon) and Spain. The new Cosmic White does not have the gradient appearance like the Cloud White model.

It looks like there is no full stop for Galaxy S20 Ultra problems. The users of the Exynos version are facing several issues with performance, heating, and battery. On the other hand, several other users experienced green tints on their phone’s display, which the company recently fixed via an update. Now, dozens of users are flocking on Samsung US Community reporting shattering of camera glass.

The breaking of camera glass on Galaxy S20 Ultra is occurring for no apparent reason. Users have been reporting it ever since the phone started shipping. Most of the users with shattered camera glass claim to be using a good quality case as well as have never dropped their device once.

Some users mention the issue starts as a hairline crack on the glass deteriorating the camera’s ability to zoom. Whereas, others allege the glass to break just like that leaving a hole. Since Samsung has not yet responded to the problem as it does not seem to be widespread enough yet, customers will have to shell out their money to fix the glass.

As far as fares are concerned, users with Samsung Premium Care will be charged $100 when compared to $400 for those without it. That is a hefty amount to pay for the damage that happened by itself after buying the phone for $1400 or above.

Additionally, most service centres around the world are closed due to lockdown issued by the governments to fight the coronavirus outbreak. Hence, a few set of users are left with a broken premium smartphone.

But now, it is getting a new paint job called ‘Cosmic White’, however, it is only limited to China for now. It is uncertain if this variant will be ever made available in other regions at the moment.

The new white color edition of Galaxy S20 Ultra is similar to the exclusive ‘Cloud White’ Galaxy S20 available in South Korea, Spain and the US (Verizon) but without gradient. It resembles classic white Samsung smartphones of the past and is expected to be free of smudges because of its color. 

Unfortunately, this variant is exclusive for China and there’s no word on if or ever it will make it to other markets. If it does, this version of Galaxy S20 Ultra is definitely worth looking at unless Samsung sells Exynos 990-powered units in your region.

Also, it is worth noting that Galaxy S20 Ultra ‘Cosmic White’ is only available in 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM storage configuration. Apart from the new exterior look, it is exactly the same phone that Samsung unveiled in February.

In recent years, DxOMark ratings have become a reliable source for a smartphone camera and audio ratings. Previously, we had reported on the Huawei P40 Pro receiving the highest ratings ever in the DxOMark tests. The device scored an impressive 128 points and is currently holds the top spot in the DxOMark leaderboard. The Galaxy S20 Ultra from the South Korean tech giant, Samsung, has received many praises for its camera module. The device features a massive 108 megapixel primary sensor alongside a 48 megapixel telephoto lens, 12mp ultra wide shooter and even a ToF sensor as well. It can capture videos at 8K@30fps and even 4K@60fps. The stills have also been touted to be its strong suits with it utilizing the proprietary 108 megapixel ISOCELL sensor. Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra has a fair share of issues since its launch. Most of them are applicable to the Exynos 990 model, which the company sells in major parts of the world. Now, once again, users have started reporting problems with autofocus, heating and even battery performance on their units.

The users of Galaxy S20 Ultra took to Samsung Community as well as Twitter to share the problems they are facing on their device. The most common issue among them is autofocus on the primary camera. This particular issue has been persisting ever since the phone first released. Autofocus is slower and sometimes the camera even fails to lock focus though the company has rolled out an update a few weeks ago to fix it.

The second major complaint is the overheating of the phone. Interestingly, most users with the heating problem are those with a 4G variant of the S20 Ultra, the ones sold in non-5G markets like India. Another common issue with users of Exynos 990 variant is of battery performance. Some users have reported they are merely getting 3.5 – 4 hours of SOT (Screen on Time), which is too less for a phone with 5,000 mAh battery.

Additionally, the Exynos 990-equipped S20 Ultra users are continuously reporting about poor performance while Samsung claims it to be as powerful as Qualcomm Snapdragon 865.

Hopefully, we expect the company to fix the above-mentioned issues soon with a software update. A smartphone costing $1400 should not have these many problems in the first place.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 series in February 2020. This year, the company introduced a new high-end model dubbed as Galaxy S20 Ultra, which is the costliest Galaxy S series phone released so far. This device has now received the DxOMark audio test treatment and scored an above-average 69 points similar to last year’s ASUS ROG Phone 2.

Going by the overall points scored by the Galaxy S20 Ultra in DxOMark audio test, it falls behind the likes of Apple iPhone Xs Max, iPhone 11 Pro Max, Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, and even Huawei Mate 20 X. However, it edges the company’s own Galaxy Note 10 Plus from 2019.

As per DxOMark, the S20 Ultra performs above-average but it’s nothing extraordinary for a phone costing $1400. The speakers on the phone deliver precision and clarity in both mid-range and high-end frequencies. And thus they produce sound with accurate distance rendering, precise localizability, and good wideness. 

Also, the phone handles maximum volume and artifacts smoothly without any issue. However, the balance of the audio played is off-center and there is a lack of intelligibility in high dynamic content at minimum volumes. Additionally, the bass frequencies are lower compared to iPhone 11 Pro Max and Mi 10 Pro. 

In the recording, the phone does not perform as good as in playback. The sound picked up in selfie videos lacks high-end frequencies and thus it is poor in distance rendering and localizability. Further, the attack and blurred envelope of the sound recorded make the backgrounds as well as voice sound unnatural and nasal respectively.

In loud environments, aggressive low-end compression kicks in which affects the punch and produces audible temporal artifacts. Lastly, the timbre performance is good, dynamics are modest at best, and loudness is poor indoors

Earlier this month, Samsung had held a global launch event to announce the Galaxy S20 series. Alongside the Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra 5G phones, the South Korean company had also unleashed the Galaxy Z Flip clamshell phone with flexible screen. Today, the company unleashed the Galaxy S20 series and Galaxy Z Flip in China.

Samsung Galaxy S20 series

The Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G has landed in China in two models such as 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage and 16 GB RAM + 512 GB storage. They are priced at 9,999 Yuan (~$1,427) and 11,199 Yuan (~$1,598).

The Galaxy S20+ 5G with 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage costs 7,999 Yuan (~$1,141). The Galaxy S20 5Ga with 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage is priced at 6,999 Yuan (~$999). The online and offline pre-sales of the S20 series will start in China on March 6. The S20 series will be available for purchase starting from March 20 in the country.

The S20 Ultra, S20+ and S20 have 6.9-inch, 6.7-inch and 6.2-inch Infinity-O quad HD+ resolution AMOLED displays. They are equipped with 5,000mAh, 4,500mAh and 4,000mAh batteries. The Snapdragon 865 SoC powers the S20 series. The S20 and S20+ feature 10-megapixel selfie cameras whereas the Ultra edition has 40-megapixel front camera. The S20+ Ultra feature 108-megapixel quad cameras, the S20 has a 64-megapixel quad camera setup and the S20 has a 48-megapixel triple camera system.

The clamshell phone comes with a 6.7-inch flexible OLED panel with 22:9 aspect ratio and full HD+ resolution. It has an outer 1.1-inch secondary display which can be used for checking notifications. The Snapdragon 855+ and 3,300mAh battery powers the phone. It has a selfie camera of 10-megapixel and a 12-megapixel + 12-megapixel dual camera setup. The Galaxy Z Flip Thom Browne edition carries a whopping price tag of 19,999 Yuan (~$2,854).

If you reside in India and want to pick up Samsung’s new Galaxy S20 phones, you are going to be paying a premium. The official Samsung India website has now put up the prices for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

The Galaxy S20 will be available in a single configuration – 8GB RAM + 128GB and will come in Cosmic Gray, Cloud Blue, and Cosmic Black. Irrespective of the color variant you pick, you will be forking out INR 66,990 (~$937). Of course, you can trade-in your current device to get the price down by as much as INR 48,100 (~$672), but you will have to check first if your phone is eligible.

The Galaxy S20+ will also come in the same configuration as the Galaxy S20 as well as the same colorways. However, the price tag goes up to INR 73,990 (~$1034) if you are not spreading the payment.

Samsung is offering the Galaxy S20 Ultra in just Cosmic Gray and you only get the base configuration which has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The price for the 108MP flagship phone is INR 92,999 (~$1300).

It has been reported that the models sold in India have an Exynos 990 processor and a 4G modem.

The phones are available for pre-order now and will go on sale on March 6, save for the Ultra that goes on sale on March 15. If you pre-order either the Galaxy S20+ or Galaxy S20 Ultra, you get the Galaxy Buds+ for INR 1,999. Nope, not free.

The Galaxy Buds+ is also up for pre-order as a standalone purchase for INR 11,990 (~$167) (INR 2000 off the original price) and is available in Blue, Black, and White.

If you want the Galaxy Z Flip, you will have to wait a bit more as Samsung doesn’t have a launch date yet for India. However, there is a pre-registration page where you can register your interest for the foldable phone.

Samsung successfully unwrapped the Galaxy S20 lineup through the Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event in San Francisco, U.S.. Interesting updates regarding the possible Indian launch of its flagship devices have started rolling in. For starters, the Indian variants of the Galaxy S20 lineup are powered by an inferior processor compared to the international model. Unlike the US variants that support 5G connectivity, S20 models for India will come with support for 4G VoLTE.

Samsung showcased the Galaxy S20, S20+, and the S20 Ultra at Galaxy Unpacked 2020 on Feb. 11 along with the Galaxy Z Flip and the Galaxy Buds+ truly wireless earbuds. The Galaxy S20 lineup sports the Snapdragon 865 chipset internationally. However, the Indian variants will be powered by the Exynos 990 SoC. According to notable gadget tipster Ishan Agarwal, Samsung might launch the Galaxy S20 lineup in India on March 8, alongside the Galaxy Z Flip. 

He also revealed that the pre-booking of the Galaxy S20 series will be carried out between Feb. 14 and March 6 in India. While the S20 series and Z Flip are up for pre-registrations in India, there is no official word as of now. Hence, the audience is advised to take this information with a pinch of salt.

Galaxy S20+ – The S20+ flaunts a larger 6.7-inch AMOLED display with quad HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate support. It shares the basic specifications with the Galaxy S20. The differences include a large 4,500 mAh battery, along with an additional rear depth sensor.

Galaxy S20 Ultra – The Galaxy S20 Ultra flaunts a 6.9-inch quad HD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is available in 12GB and 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB, 256GB and 512GB of native storage. It draws power from a 5,000 mAh battery with 45W fast charge support. The quad primary camera setup comprises a 108-megapixel sensor and a 48-megapixel telephoto lens apart from the usual depth and wide-angle sensors. The front camera uses a 40-megapixel sensor.

Galaxy Z Flip – The Galaxy Z Flip flaunts a flexible 6.7-inch primary display along with a 1.1-inch secondary display. It is powered by a Snapdragon 855+ SoC with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of native storage. The device draws power from a 3,300 mAH battery and runs on Android 10. The dual-camera setup consists of two 12-megapixel sensors, while the front camera uses a 10-megapixel lens. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.0, and USB Type-C.

The Galaxy S20 series was unveiled at the Samsung Unpacked event yesterday. Samsung’s new series includes the Galaxy S20 which replaces the Galaxy S10e and the Galaxy S20+ that takes over from the Galaxy S10 Plus. However, the highlight of the series is none other than the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

The Galaxy S20 Ultra pushes Samsung’s flagship phones beyond a level that the Plus models of the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note10 ever did. It maxes out at everything, from the main camera which is a 108MP sensor to its zoom that gets you closer to your subject by 100x, to the RAM which goes up to 16GB, and its battery capacity that is 5000mAh. The Galaxy S20 Ultra is definitely in a different class of its own but will likely not be for long when other flagships arrive.

Specs and Features

The Galaxy S20 Ultra has the same curved QHD+ Infinity-O display with a centered hole punch as its siblings. However, it is larger at 6.9-inches, making it even bigger than the 6.8-inch Galaxy Note10+. Just like the other S20 models, this also has a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. Samsung says the device automatically switches between 60Hz and 120Hz refresh rate.

The Galaxy S20 Ultra has a 108MP primary sensor with a 1/1.33” large sensor which uses 9-in-1 pixel binning. It also has a 12MP f/2.2 120° ultrawide angle camera, a 48MP telephoto camera with a periscope lens, and a DepthVision (depth of field) camera. The front-facing camera jumps from 10MP in its siblings to a 40MP f/2.2 camera.

The Galaxy S20 Ultra has 10x hybrid optical zoom while its Super Res Zoom or digital zoom goes up to 100x. If you own an 8K TV, you can record in 8K with the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner for security. It packs a massive 5000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging and ships with a 45W adapter. It also supports 15W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. Samsung ships it with Android 10 with One UI 2.0 on top.

Price and Availability

The Galaxy S20 Ultra is available in 4G and 5G variants but the prices we got our hands on are for the 5G version. The base model with 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at $1399 but you can grab the 16GB version with 512GB of storage for $1599. The phone is available in Cosmic Black and Cosmic Grey and all pre-orders ship with a free pair of Galaxy Buds+.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 lineup is all set to launch tomorrow at an official Samsung Unpacked event in the US. The S20 series is turning out to be Samsung’s most leaked lineup till date. And just a day before its launch, we have yet another S20 leak. This time, its a 30x digital zoom sample from the Galaxy S20+, shared by XDA’s Max Weinbach.

The current crop of Galaxy S10 devices offers a maximum of 10x digital zoom. So, Galaxy S20’s 30x zoom will be a significant upgrade over its predecessor. What’s more, the Galaxy S20 Ultra is expected to take things to a whole new level with its 100x digital zoom capability, as revealed by the recent leaks.

The Galaxy S20 and S20+ models reportedly feature 30x digital zoom with the help of their 64MP telephoto shooters. The S20 Ultra’s 108MP shooter is said to responsible for making its crazy 100x zoom possible. If true, it would be the highest zoom offered by any smartphone in the market.

Max has also shared a couple of night time samples from the S20, which seems to have slightly better details and color balance as compared to the ones from the S10.

Notably, the S20 Ultra is going to be the real flagship model of Galaxy lineup this year, all thanks to its 108MP primary camera. The phone is expected to feature a quad-camera setup that includes a large periscope shooter, like the Huawei P30 Pro.

Samsung will be announcing the Galaxy S20 series on Tuesday in the coming week. Early leaks had claimed that the successors of the Galaxy S10 series will be arriving as Galaxy S11e, Galaxy S11 and Galaxy S11+. While multiple reports have confirmed that these devices will be respectively arriving as Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra, Samsung did not confirm these monikers. Winfuture.de has reported that an LED case for the Galaxy S20 was found listed on Samsung’s website in Europe. The listing that has been taken down revealed the Galaxy S20 moniker and its design. Moreover, in another leak, the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G has appeared in a live shot.

Marketing images of the LED case for Galaxy S20 was available on Samsung’s online shop for Europe for some time. The images on the listing revealed corroborate on the leaked images that have appeared in the recent reports. The Galaxy S20 was seen with an Infinity-O punch-hole display and its rear shell was seen sporting a gray colored cover that has randomly placed LEDs. The case is similar to the LED case that was made available for the Galaxy S10.

The Galaxy S20’s rear shell has a rectangle shaped camera module. As recent reports revealed, it houses three cameras and an LED flash. The Galaxy S20+ will be sporting four rear cameras and the Galaxy S20 Ultra will be arriving with an advanced quad camera setup on its back. The Samsung Galaxy S20 series will be announced exactly one week from today. The series consists of the Galaxy S20, the Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra. Ahead of the launch next week, details of the phone’s US pricing from the top carriers have surfaced. As expected, these devices are not cheap.

The source of the price leaks is YouTuber, Jon Prosser, and he said he got the info from sources at the carriers. Starting with T-Mobile, the magenta network will sell the Galaxy S20 for $999 while the Galaxy S20+ will get a $1199 price tag. The Galaxy S20 Ultra will even sell for much higher at $1399.

At AT&T, the price tags are surprisingly cheaper by $100. The Galaxy S20 will sell for $899, the Galaxy S20+ will be sold for $1099 while the Galaxy S20 Ultra will have a $1299 price tag.

Head over to Verizon and the prices go back up to $999 for the Galaxy S20, $1199 for the Galaxy S20+, and $1399 for the Galaxy S20 Ultra. By the way, all the aforementioned prices irrespective of the carrier are for the 5G models. However, RAM and storage were not disclosed.

The latest news on popular tech forum XDA Developers is about the market release of the forthcoming Samsung phones. The update comes from notable XDA writer Max Weinbach, who was also responsible for announcing a number of credible leaks regarding the Galaxy S20 earlier this month. The latest round of updates from Weinbach that reveals the pricing and availability of the Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy S20 Ultra and Galaxy Buds+.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip pricing and availability 

According to Weinbach, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip will reportedly launch on Feb. 14, sporting a price tag of $1,400. He further adds that there is a chance that the smartphone will be an AT&T exclusive in the U.S, although it is too early to tell. If the device is indeed an AT&T exclusive, it will not be long before Samsung introduces an unlocked variant for the mass market.

Samsung is looking to take on the Motorola Razr head-on, and this is evident from its launch strategy. Motorola will be arriving in the U.S markets on Feb. 6. It is now up for pre-orders exclusively at Verizon in the U.S. with a hefty price tag of $1,500. The Razr is a mid-ranger featuring Snapdragon 710 whereas the Galaxy Z Flip is more powerful with Snapdragon 855 onboard.

Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+, S20 Ultra and Galaxy Buds+ pricing and availability 

Next in line, the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ 5G, and the S20 Ultra 5G are expected to hit the markets on March 6. Initial estimates suggest that the S20 Ultra will cost a cool $1,300 in the U.S. Prices for the other variants are currently unknown. All three variants will come pre-installed with screen protectors from the factory and is likely to be rated for IP68 water resistance at 5M.

The Galaxy Buds+ are expected to arrive in February, sporting double the battery life of the existing Galaxy Buds. This effectively rates the Buds+ for 12-hour battery backup, since the 1st generation lasts for up to 6 hours on a single charge. The Buds+ is expected to retail at $149 and features Adaptive Noise Isolation, which should not be confused with Active Noise Cancellation. The Galaxy Buds+ will be available for free for those who pre-order Galaxy S20 series phones.

Samsung‘s latest flagship series is just around the corner. The Galaxy S20 series will be unveiled in the arriving month, during its Unpack event and is the successor to the Galaxy S10 series. However, even before the launch, many leaks have already surfaced and now even its official case has been revealed.

A leakster went on Twitter to share images of the official cases and covers of the Samsung Galaxy S20 series. The tweet arrived with multiple images that showcased the smartphone accessories and are said to be compatible with three different models with designs resembling the Galaxy S10 official cases from last year.

According to the images, the first one is a thin case that features a rugged design for better protection and also arrives with a built-in stand on the rear. Furthermore, one of the cases has a see-through flip-style cover with a window-like area on the flap. This window area lets useful information from the smartphone to be portrayed even when the display is covered, including time, notifications, battery and more. The last of the cases follows Samsung’s traditional LED cover design. It arrives with LED lights on the flap that covers the front which displays the time.

Unfortunately, this has not been officially confirmed by the company but the renders might just be a true representation of the actual product. A protective standing cover, LED View Cover and a Clear View Cover were used to describe these leaked cases and covers but we will have to wait for Samsung’s official announcement to confirm the names as well.

Samsung will announce a new pair of wireless earbuds alongside the Galaxy S20 series come February 11, 2020. The earbuds which will launch as the Galaxy Buds+ will have the same design as the original Galaxy Buds but will come in new colorways. While we expect the price of the new earbuds to be the same as that of last year’s model, though there are speculations it may cost more too, there is a way to get them for free.

A promotional poster leaked by Evan Blass (@evleaks) has revealed that Samsung will include a free pair of the Galaxy Buds+ with all pre-orders of the Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra. The image shows the Galaxy S20+ in Cloud blue, the Galaxy S20 Ultra in Cosmic Gray, and the Galaxy Buds+ in Aura Glow.

We do not know why Samsung is limiting the free earbuds to the Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20+ Ultra and not including the base model Galaxy S20. Last year, those who pre-ordered any of the Galaxy S10 phones including the Galaxy S10e got the Galaxy Buds. Hopefully, Samsung includes it with all the models.

It has been reported that the Galaxy Buds+ will come with a better battery life. Not that the original Galaxy Buds itself didn’t have a good battery life but that of its case paled in comparison to that of other wireless earbuds.

The leaks keep pouring in for the Galaxy S20 series, and at this rate, the unpacked event may as well be watched just for the fun of it and other new products Samsung may be planning to announce. The latest leak is official press renders of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra. It also includes the price the devices will sell for.

The source of the leak is Ishan Agarwal and he has partnered with 91Mobiles.

Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+

The Galaxy S20 is shown in a powder blue color variant. The color variant has a rainbow-like color shift at the bottom and the sides of the phone are curved. Both the front and rear of the phone are covered in glass. It has been reported that the glass covering the screen is actually 2.5D and should make it easier to use tempered glass on the screen protector.

The Galaxy S20, like its other siblings, has a punch-hole in the middle of the Infinity-O display for the selfie camera. On the back, it has the same rectangular camera housing which holds three sensors and the LED flash. A side view shows us the buttons are on the right-hand side of the phone and there is no Bixby button on the left-hand side. The S20 will come in Cosmic Gray, Cloud Blue, and Cloud Pink.

The Galaxy S20+ also has a near-identical design. However, there are four cameras rather than three on the back. The device is shown in Cosmic Black but will be available in Cosmic Blue and Cloud Blue.

Price

With respect to price, the GalaxyS20 will start at €899 for the 4G version and jump to €999 for the 5G version. The Galaxy S20+ 5G, on the other hand, will be priced at €1099.

Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G

The Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G also comes in Cosmic Black and Cosmic Gray. It too will have a 2.5D display rather than a 3D curved screen. The buttons are placed in the same place as that of its siblings and it too doesn’t have a Bixby button.

On the rear, the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G looks different from its siblings. It also has a rectangular camera housing, however, the camera housing is wider and has a two-color design. The dark part houses three sensors while the gray part is home to a single camera that has a periscope lens which will have up to 100x digital zoom.

The source says the phone will have a starting price of €1,349 for the base model. Buyers will get a bigger screen with QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

In countries with 4G, one can expect the S20 models to be cheaper by 100 euros. The Galaxy Z Flip could be priced at 1,400 euros. The tipster has claimed that the pricing could be lower than what he revealed.

Galaxy S20 series and Galaxy Z Flip specifications (Rumored)

Leaks have revealed that the Galaxy S20 has a 6.2-inch display and the S20+ is fitted with a 6.7-inch display. The more advanced Galaxy S20 Ultra has a bigger 6.9-inch screen. They all have Infinity-O design and carry support for quad HD+ resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio and 120Hz refresh rate. Depending on the market, S20 lineup will come in Exynos 990 SoC or Snapdragon 865 SoC versions. The RAM variants of these phones haven’t been revealed yet.

The S20 and S20+ may come with 128 GB built-in storage and they are going to be equipped with a microSD card slot for more storage. The S20 will have a 4,000mAh battery, S20+ will be featuring a bigger 4,500mAh battery and the Ultra edition will include a behemoth 5,000mAh battery. The One UI 2.0 based Android 10 OS will run on all S20 models.

The S20 and S20+ may have 10-megapixel front cameras whereas the S20 Ultra could be coming with a 40-megapixel front camera. The Snapdragon 855 powered phone could be having a 3,300mAh battery inside with 15W fast charging support. The dual camera setup of the phone may include a 12-megapixel primary shooter. The quad camera system of the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G will be featuring 108-megapixel Samsung S5KHM1 as main shooter. It will be coupled with a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 telephoto camera with a pixel size of 0.8micron. The third lens on the setup will be a 44-megapixel Samsung S5KGH1 ultrawide lens with 0.7micron pixel size and it will also feature a new Sony IMX518 3D ToF (Time of Flight) sensor.

For snapping selfies, the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G will be fitted with a 10-megapixel Sony IMX375 lens with 1.22micron pixel size. The Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G’s quad camera setup has a 12-megapixel Sony IMX555 primary lens with 1.8micron pixel size. It is accompanied by a 64-megapixel Samsung S5KGW2 telephoto lens and a 12-megapixel Samsung S5K2LA ultrawide shooter. Its fourth lens is a Sony IMX516 3D ToF sensor.

The Galaxy S20’s triple camera borrows its primary, telephoto and ultrawide lenses from the Galaxy S20+ model. Also, it lacks a 3D ToF sensor.
