<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a>’s budget-friendly Galaxy Z Flip FE, long expected to launch alongside the Galaxy Z Flip7 in July 2025, might ditch its “Fan Edition” name for something new: Galaxy Z Flip Xe. This news, still unconfirmed, has folks wondering why Samsung would stray from the well-known FE branding for its affordable foldable.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Flip-FE-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Flip-FE" class="wp-image-666956" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Flip-FE-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Flip-FE-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Flip-FE-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Flip-FE-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Flip-FE-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Flip-FE-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Flip-FE-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Flip-FE.jpg 1600w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>For months, the Galaxy Z Flip FE—sometimes called the Z Flip7 FE—has been hyped as Samsung’s wallet-friendly take on flip-style foldables, set to debut with the premium Z Flip7. The FE label, tied to recent hits like the Galaxy S24 FE, screams “great value,” but this recent rumor suggests Samsung might call it the Galaxy Z Flip Xe instead.</p>

<h2>Why the switch to a new name?</h2>

<p>Maybe Samsung wants to avoid the budget stigma of FE to keep its foldable lineup feeling fancy, or they’re just testing a fresh vibe. Nothing&#8217;s set in stone yet, so take it with a pinch of salt.</p>

<p>Previously <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/04/03/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-7-fe-specs-leak-reveals-exynos-2400e-chip-camera-details/">leaked specs</a> point to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/09/28/samsung-explains-how-s24-fes-exynos-2400e-differs-from-exynos-2400/">Exynos 2400e</a> chipset powering the device, paired with a 12MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide, and 10MP selfie shooter—pretty much a Galaxy Z Flip5 with a newer processor. It’s likely to keep the Flip6’s 6.7-inch AMOLED main display and 3.4-inch cover screen to cut costs, but other tweaks could surprise us.</p>

<p>Sticking with “Fan Edition” would instantly signal “affordable flagship,” while Xe feels like a wildcard—maybe a nod to “exclusive” or “experimental.” Recent X posts spotted the device as Z Flip Xe in Samsung’s GSMA database, though it flipped back to FE later, adding to the mystery. Will Samsung play it safe or go bold? Onlt time will tell.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a>’s upcoming Galaxy Z Flip FE, the anticipated budget-friendly foldable, might not get the latest Exynos 2500 chip as previously rumored. Instead, new evidence suggests it could launch with the Exynos 2400e—a slightly <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/09/28/samsung-explains-how-s24-fes-exynos-2400e-differs-from-exynos-2400/">downgraded</a> version of the Exynos 2400 of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s24/">Galaxy S24</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s24-plus/">S24 Plus</a>.</p>

<h2>It&#8217;s totally acceptable for an FE model</h2>

<p>According to code analysis from reliable sources, the device (codenamed &#8220;B7R&#8221;) is set to feature the &#8220;S5e9945&#8221; processor, which corresponds to the Exynos 2400/2400e. The Exynos 2400e, which was used in the Galaxy S24 FE, has a lower-clocked prime Cortex-X4 core but is otherwise similar to the standard 2400. Reports also indicate that Samsung may use IPoP (Integrated Package on Package) packaging for this chip, which is cheaper but reportedly has inferior heat dissipation—a trade-off that could help keep costs down.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="768" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_151037-1024x768.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6" class="wp-image-638882" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_151037-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_151037-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_151037-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_151037-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_151037-2048x1536.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_151037-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_151037-1068x801.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_151037-1920x1440.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_151037-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_151037-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_151037-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6</figcaption></figure>

<p>Notably, this new information contradicts recent leaks suggesting Samsung might delay the Flip FE’s launch to equip it with the newer Exynos 2500. However, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/06/19/samsungs-3nm-process-continues-to-struggle-with-power-efficiency-and-yield-rate/">production challenges</a> with Samsung’s 3nm process node obliged Samsung to power even the base models of the S25 series with the expensive Snapdragon 8 Elite. According to some previous reports, the Exynos 2500 failed to meet the performance standards Samsung MX set for the S25 series.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="538" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/th-exynos2400-og-image-1024x538.webp?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-678527" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/th-exynos2400-og-image-1024x538.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/th-exynos2400-og-image-300x158.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/th-exynos2400-og-image-768x403.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/th-exynos2400-og-image-696x365.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/th-exynos2400-og-image-1068x561.webp 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/th-exynos2400-og-image-800x420.webp 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/th-exynos2400-og-image.webp 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>It seems that Samsung Foundry has yet to overcome the yield rate issue or related production challenges. Google has also <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/10/24/pixel-10s-tensor-g5-finally-uses-tsmcs-3nm-process-but-with-weird-core-choices/">shifted</a> the fabrication of the upcoming Tensor G5 from Samsung to TSMC, and is also handling the designing part on its own.</p>

<p>Moving back to the Galaxy Z Flip FE, it&#8217;s expected to be Samsung’s most accessible foldable. In fact, Samsung is targeting users who want the flip-style experience without breaking the bank. While the Exynos 2400e isn’t the latest silicon, it should still deliver a reasonably good user experience—given Samsung focuses on heat dissipation or optimizes power usage.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a>’s upcoming Galaxy Z Flip FE, an affordable addition to its foldable lineup, has been spotted on the 3C certification database. The device is expected to launch alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 later this year, and it aims to make foldable technology more accessible to a broader audience.</p>

<h2>Galaxy Z Flip FE with the same 25W charging</h2>

<p>The Galaxy Z Flip FE, identified by the model number SM-F7610, has been listed on the 3C database, confirming its 5G connectivity and 25W charging speed. While the charging speed is not groundbreaking, it aligns with Samsung’s current offerings for mid-range devices. The certification also mentions the EP-TA800 travel adapter. Nonetheless, Samsung is unlikely to include a free charging brick in the retail box.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="173" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/galaxy-z-flip-fe-3c.webp?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-678140" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/galaxy-z-flip-fe-3c.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/galaxy-z-flip-fe-3c-300x51.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/galaxy-z-flip-fe-3c-768x130.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/galaxy-z-flip-fe-3c-696x118.webp 696w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>According to previous reports, the Galaxy Z Flip FE could launch in July 2025 along with the 7th generation foldables with the Exynos 2500 chipset, and the display is speculated to be similar to last year&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-6/">Galaxy Z Flip 6</a>. It&#8217;s expected to start from<a href="https://howl.link/egu3d22nckx36" rel="sponsored nofollow"> $700</a> in the US, and is positioned as a more budget-friendly alternative to the Z Flip 7.</p>

<p>For those wondering, there&#8217;s no confirmed information about the chipset of the Z Flip 7, which could pack either the same Exynos 2500 as the Flip FE or the Snapdragon 8 Elite as the latest S series flagships. While Samsung has been putting significant effort lately to improve Exynos, the company has powered all of its foldable devices with Qualcomm chips so far. Check out the list of all the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/12/02/list-of-snapdragon-8-elite-smartphones/">Snapdragon 8 Elite powered devices</a> here.</p>

<p>While the Z Flip FE may not match the high-end specifications of its counterparts, it represents a significant step toward making foldable smartphones more mainstream.</p>

<p>Samsung has traditionally released new iterations of its Flip and Fold series every year. However, the success of the recently launched <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/10/21/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-6-special-edition-launched/">Galaxy Z Fold6 Special Edition</a> has encouraged the company to explore fresh ideas. The Galaxy Z Flip FE is rumored to be the first FE foldable phone, sparking curiosity about how Samsung plans to strike a balance between affordability and functionality.</p>

<h2>Display details of Galaxy Z Flip FE</h2>

<p>Early leaks suggested the Galaxy Z Flip FE might share the same display as the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7, but recent reports say otherwise. Display analyst Ross Young revealed that the Flip FE will instead use the display panel from the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-6/">Galaxy Z Flip6</a>. This approach makes sense as it helps Samsung reduce production costs, allowing them to price the Flip FE more competitively.</p>

<p>The use of last-generation hardware could make the Galaxy Z Flip FE an appealing option for buyers who want a foldable phone without breaking the bank. However, this cost-saving measure has raised questions about other aspects of the device, particularly its processor and camera specifications, which remain unknown.</p>

<h2>What else to expect from the phone?</h2>

<p>While details are still scarce, the FE lineup typically targets consumers looking for flagship features at a lower price point. The Galaxy Z Flip FE could maintain Samsung&#8217;s foldable design language while offering slightly toned-down hardware to keep costs in check.</p>

<p>Samsung’s next Unpacked event is expected in late January, though the Galaxy Z Flip FE might not be officially revealed until later in 2025. If the rumors are true, the Flip FE could mark Samsung&#8217;s most affordable entry into the foldable phone market, making foldables more accessible to a wider audience.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Galaxy-Z-Flip6.webp?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-634040" width="666" height="374" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Galaxy-Z-Flip6.webp 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Galaxy-Z-Flip6-300x169.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Galaxy-Z-Flip6-696x391.webp 696w" sizes="(max-width: 666px) 100vw, 666px" /></figure>

<h2>Galaxy Z Flip7 is expected to debut the Exynos 2500 chipset</h2>

<p>According to X tipster Jukanlosreve, the Galaxy Z Flip7 is expected to feature Samsung’s upcoming Exynos 2500, marking a significant shift from the Snapdragon chips used in previous foldable models like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-6/">Z Flip6</a>.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="540" height="212" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/z-flip-7-z-flip-fe-chipset-leak.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-661566" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/z-flip-7-z-flip-fe-chipset-leak.png 540w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/z-flip-7-z-flip-fe-chipset-leak-300x118.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px" /></figure></div>

<p>For those unfamiliar, Samsung is facing some <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/06/exynos-2500-faces-production-setbacks-samsungs-3nm-yield-falls-below-20/#:~:text=Production%20challenges%20for%20Exynos%202500&amp;text=This%20low%20output%20rate%20has,could%20have%20far%2Dreaching%20implications.">manufacturing issues </a>with its 3nm chips. The adoption of the 3nm Exynos 2500 in the upcoming Z Flip 7 instead of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/20/galaxy-s25-ultra-to-cost-over-100-more-than-s24-ultra-here-are-the-reasons-behind-the-price-hike/">S25 series</a> scheduled to launch in January (which was supposed to equip the chips) suggests that Samsung hopes for an improvement in its yield rate before it needs to mass produce the chips to cut down the manufacturing costs.</p>

<p>Samsung has powered its foldable phones with Qualcomm chips so far and it will be interesting to see how much of an improvement in performance and power efficiency Samsung manages to offer with the Exynos 2500-powered Z Fold 7. Notably, the tipster didn&#8217;t mention the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/10/26/samsung-prepares-for-next-foldable-evolution-two-galaxy-z-fold-7-models-under-development/">Z Fold 7</a>, so that&#8217;s still expected to power the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/11/snapdragon-8-elite-vs-apple-a18-pro-benchmark-showdown/">Snapdragon 8 Elite</a> chip.</p>

<h2>Budget-friendly Galaxy Z Flip FE to use S24FE&#8217;s Exynos 2400e</h2>

<p>The Galaxy Z Flip FE is expected to launch as an affordable alternative to the premium Z Flip series. The device could feature the Exynos 2400e, a slightly downclocked version of the Exynos 2400 chipset used in the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s24-fe/">Galaxy S24 FE</a>.</p>

<p>The use of the Exynos 2400e ensures a balance between performance and cost-effectiveness. This chipset has already demonstrated its capabilities in handling everyday tasks effectively, making it a promising option for a budget foldable device.</p>

<p>Rumors have hinted at <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung </a>working on an affordable foldable smartphone. This model would feature a flip phone design and could be dubbed the Galaxy Z Flip FE. While there is no official word regarding this budget foldable phone, we have already covered various leaks and rumors regarding the Galaxy Z Flip FE. So here&#8217;s everything you can expect.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="475" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-W25-Flip-and-Galaxy-Z-Flip-6--1024x475.png?x44794" alt="Samsung W25 Flip and Galaxy Z Flip 6-" class="wp-image-657256" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-W25-Flip-and-Galaxy-Z-Flip-6--1024x475.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-W25-Flip-and-Galaxy-Z-Flip-6--300x139.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-W25-Flip-and-Galaxy-Z-Flip-6--768x357.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-W25-Flip-and-Galaxy-Z-Flip-6--696x323.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-W25-Flip-and-Galaxy-Z-Flip-6--904x420.png 904w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-W25-Flip-and-Galaxy-Z-Flip-6-.png 1038w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Samsung W25 Flip (left) and Galaxy Z Flip 6 (right)</figcaption></figure></div>

<h3>Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE: Design &amp; Display</h3>

<p>So far, the Galaxy Z Flip FE hasn&#8217;t surfaced in any renders or image leaks. But a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/05/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-fe-galaxy-z-flip-fe-specs-leak-snapdragon-7s-gen-2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">report from back in April 2024</a> confirmed its dimensions. The South Korean tech giant&#8217;s Galaxy Z Flip FE will apparently measure 84.9 x 71.9 x 15.9–171.mm in the folded state and 165.2 x 71.9 x 6.9mm in the unfolded state. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip 6 recently, so we can expect the Z Flip FE to offer a similar design and display.</p>

<p>To recall, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-6/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy Z Flip 6 </a>sports a tall 6.7-inch primary LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the cover panel is a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED panel with a 60Hz refresh rate. Considering how the Galaxy Z Flip FE is planned to be a more affordable option, the company might make some changes with its design elements and display.</p>

<h3>Specifications</h3>

<p>In one of the first reports of the Galaxy Z Flip FE, the brand was expected to equip the Galaxy Z Fold FE and Z Flip FE with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-7s-gen-2">Snapdragon 7s Gen 2</a> chip. But a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/11/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-fe-tipped-exynos-2400/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">new leak from earlier this month</a> claimed that the budget flip phone packs the Exynos 2400 SoC. This is the same chipset that is rumored to power the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s24/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy S24</a> as well. Notably, Ross Young, CEO of DSCC, stated that the budget flip phone might be called the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. </p>

<p>If this is true, then we can expect its feature set to be more in line with the Galaxy Z Flip 7, which will launch next year. Unfortunately, there is no information regarding the battery pack, camera setup, charging speeds, storage configurations, or other finer details.</p>

<h3>Launch Timeline</h3>

<p>The company is expected to launch the clamshell folding FE phone next year. It is unclear if Samsung plans to release the Galaxy Z Flip FE alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 or announce it after the next gen foldable smartphones drop. The pricing details are still unknown but we can expect the Galaxy Z Flip FE to cost under $900. So stick around for more updates.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a> recently introduced the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-special/">Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition</a> with a sleeker design and a higher price tag than the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-6/">Z Fold 6</a>. Now, the company finally appears to be shifting gears, with rumors suggesting it is exploring a more affordable option for those seeking a device with a hinge. According to industry insider Ross Young, the Galaxy Z Flip FE—a budget-friendly foldable—is expected to launch in 2025.</p>

<h2>A more affordable flip phone from Samsung?</h2>

<p>After years of speculation about a low-cost foldable smartphone, it seems Samsung is finally making progress in delivering on this promise. The device is rumored to feature the same display as the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7 but may cut costs by using a lower-tier camera system and an older processor.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="537" height="147" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Z-Flip-FE-ross-young.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-660813" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Z-Flip-FE-ross-young.png 537w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Z-Flip-FE-ross-young-300x82.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Z-Flip-FE-ross-young-533x147.png 533w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Z-Flip-FE-ross-young-534x147.png 534w" sizes="(max-width: 537px) 100vw, 537px" /></figure></div>

<p>Unlike the Galaxy Z Flip FE, Samsung reportedly has no plans to develop a budget version of its larger Galaxy Z Fold series, focusing its cost-reduction efforts solely on its compact foldable lineup.</p>

<p>As for the hardware, speculation around the Galaxy Z Flip FE’s chipset is growing. A report from Sammobile suggests Samsung might equip the phone with the Exynos 2400 or Exynos 2400e (which is used on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s24-fe/">S24 FE</a>)—older chips by the time of its release. However, there’s also a possibility that the device could debut with the Exynos 2500, provided Samsung Foundry resolves <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/06/exynos-2500-faces-production-setbacks-samsungs-3nm-yield-falls-below-20/">ongoing yield rate challenges</a> with its 3nm process node.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="475" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-W25-Flip-and-Galaxy-Z-Flip-6--1024x475.png?x44794" alt="Samsung W25 Flip and Galaxy Z Flip 6-" class="wp-image-657256" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-W25-Flip-and-Galaxy-Z-Flip-6--1024x475.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-W25-Flip-and-Galaxy-Z-Flip-6--300x139.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-W25-Flip-and-Galaxy-Z-Flip-6--768x357.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-W25-Flip-and-Galaxy-Z-Flip-6--696x323.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-W25-Flip-and-Galaxy-Z-Flip-6--904x420.png 904w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-W25-Flip-and-Galaxy-Z-Flip-6-.png 1038w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Samsung W25 Flip (left) and Galaxy Z Flip 6-(right)</figcaption></figure>

<p>The Exynos 2500 is rumored to be a powerful processor initially intended for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s25/">Galaxy S25</a> series. Current production limitations have reportedly pushed its use in the S25 lineup into question, making it a potential candidate for the Z Flip FE.</p>

<p>If the Galaxy Z Flip FE becomes a reality, it could mark an important milestone for foldable phones, making it more accessible to a broader audience. While exact pricing and specifications remain unclear, the device is expected to combine affordability with Samsung’s brand value.</p>

<p>Notably, Motorola <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/09/23/the-motorola-razr-50s-is-now-official-details-here/">quietly unveiled</a> a budget friendly flip phone called the Motorola Razr 50s on Japan back in September this year. The phone is powered by the Dimensity 7300X chip and is priced at around JPY 115,200 (~$800).</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung </a>is apparently working on a new budget foldable smartphones from its Galaxy Z series. These new models could be a part of the Fan Edition model and might be dubbed the Galaxy Z Fold FE and Galaxy Z Flip FE. While the brand has yet to share any official details regarding these tablets, the Galaxy Z Flip FE just surfaced in a fresh leak. So let&#8217;s check it out.</p>

<h2>Galaxy Z Flip FE Featuring In-House Flagship Chip?</h2>

<p>The information arrives from tipster Jukanlosreve who shared the details on X (formerly Twitter). The upcoming budget flip phone might be launching with the South Korean tech giant&#8217;s in-house flagship chip. Jukanlosreve claims that the Galaxy Z Flip FE will pack the Exynos 2400 SoC, which is the same high end chipset that powered the Galaxy S24 series. Considering how these are the brand&#8217;s 2024 flagship phones, so the Galaxy Z Flip FE packs some capable specs and features.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="475" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-W25-Flip-and-Galaxy-Z-Flip-6--1024x475.png?x44794" alt="Samsung W25 Flip and Galaxy Z Flip 6-" class="wp-image-657256" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-W25-Flip-and-Galaxy-Z-Flip-6--1024x475.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-W25-Flip-and-Galaxy-Z-Flip-6--300x139.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-W25-Flip-and-Galaxy-Z-Flip-6--768x357.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-W25-Flip-and-Galaxy-Z-Flip-6--696x323.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-W25-Flip-and-Galaxy-Z-Flip-6--904x420.png 904w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-W25-Flip-and-Galaxy-Z-Flip-6-.png 1038w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Samsung W25 Flip (left) and Galaxy Z Flip 6-(right)</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>That&#8217;s not all, the recent Q3 earnings report had a Samsung executive hinted at an affordable foldable phone. So the brand&#8217;s foldable experience could be arriving with capable specs despite a more accessible price tag. To recall, the Galaxy FE devices have some premium specs for a mid range cost. In our <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/05/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-fe-galaxy-z-flip-fe-specs-leak-snapdragon-7s-gen-2/">previous report</a>, the Galaxy Z Flip FE and Galaxy Z Fold FE were rumored to launch with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. </p>

<p>This report also added that the Galaxy Z Fold FE and Galaxy Z Flip FE may launch with an Exynos chipset in certain markets. Based on what we know so far, the Galaxy Z Flip FE would likely be a cut-down version of the premium <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-6/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy Z Flip 6</a> model. While finer details are still at large, leaks point to the Galaxy Z Flip FE launching sometime next year. The tipster also claims that the next-gen Galaxy Z Flip 7 will launch with an Exynos 2500 SoC. Although this is still just an unconfirmed report at this point, so take this news with a pinch of salt and stick around for more updates. </p>

<p>Due to their high price, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung">Samsung&#8217;s</a> foldable phones are out of reach for many consumers. However, rumors are suggesting that Samsung is developing more <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/03/samsung-leak-foldable-fe-smartphones/">affordable foldable phones</a> to cater to a wider audience. Tipster Kro recently claimed on X (formerly Twitter) that Samsung could be developing affordable phones, such as the Galaxy Z Fold FE and the Galaxy Z Flip FE. His subsequent posts on X revealed the device&#8217;s key specifications. However, he maintains that he will only release one of them. Nevertheless, here is a look at the leaked specs of both phones.</p>

<h3><strong>Samsung Galaxy Z Fold FE, Galaxy Z Flip FE specifications (leaked)</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="682" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/galaxy-z-flip5-z-fold5-samsung.webp?x44794" alt="galaxy-z-flip5-z-fold5-samsung" class="wp-image-552837" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/galaxy-z-flip5-z-fold5-samsung.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/galaxy-z-flip5-z-fold5-samsung-300x200.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/galaxy-z-flip5-z-fold5-samsung-768x512.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/galaxy-z-flip5-z-fold5-samsung-696x464.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/galaxy-z-flip5-z-fold5-samsung-631x420.webp 631w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Galaxy Z Flip 5 / Galaxy Z Fold 5</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The Galaxy Z Fold FE and Z Flip FE are both tipped to feature the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-7s-gen-2">Snapdragon 7s Gen 2</a> chip. It&#8217;s the same chip that powers the Realme 12 Pro+ and Redmi Note 13 Pro. The leak also suggests that the Fold FE could be available with the Exynos SoC, possibly the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/exynos-2200">Exynos 2200</a>, in some markets.</p>

<p>The Galaxy Z Fold FE is said to have 12 GB and 16 GB RAM options, whereas the Flip variant may come in 8 GB and 12 GB RAM variants. When it comes to storage, both foldables could be available in 256 GB and 512 GB storage sizes.</p>

<p>The Galaxy Z Fold FE is said to have 155.1 x 67.1 x 14.2–15.8mm dimensions in the folded state. In its unfolded state, it will measure 155.1 x 130.1 x 6.3mm. On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip FE will measure 84.9 x 71.9 x 15.9–171.mm in the folded state and 165.2 x 71.9 x 6.9mm in the unfolded state.</p>

<p>Samsung has not yet officially confirmed the existence of budget-friendly foldable phones. Furthermore, there is no indication of when the FE foldables might be released. Therefore, it is advisable to approach the leaked information with caution.</p>
