<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Huawei </a>was gearing up to unveil its latest <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-p70-series/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Huawei P70 series</a> of flagship smartphones this week. But it appears that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/03/huawei-p70-launch-event-reportedly-cancelled/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">launch event was reportedly canceled</a>. So while the release may have been pushed back, here&#8217;s a detailed roundup breaking down the specs, design, pricing, and more regarding the upcoming devices.</p>

<h2>Huawei P70 Series: Design &amp; Display</h2>

<p>The next-gen P70 series features the Chinese tech giant&#8217;s “camera Deco” layout on the rear. It features a triangular camera island that houses the camera sensors. This design was primarily seen for the Huawei P70 Pro Art model, but is believed to be uniform across the entire lineup. For those unaware, the series consists of the Huawei P70, P70 Pro, P70 Pro+, and the P70 Pro Art. Overall, all four phones will get a design refresh over their predecessors.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-P70-Pro-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei P70 Pro Leak" class="wp-image-615951" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-P70-Pro-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-P70-Pro-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-P70-Pro-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-P70-Pro-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-P70-Pro-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-P70-Pro-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-P70-Pro.jpg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>On the front, the base model is expected to sport a 6.59-inch LTPO OLED display, while the three higher end variants are rumored to sport a taller 6.76-inch LTPO OLED panel. These panels could be sourced from Chinese OLED display makers like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/01/18/huawei-p70-series-may-feature-china-made-oled-panels-from-boe-csot-visionox-tianma/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">BOE, CSOT, Visionox, and Tianma</a>. All four models will likely offer curved edges, 1.5K resolution, and a higher refresh rate. The panel reportedly has a punch hole cutout for the selfie shooter and house an in-display fingerprint scanner as well.</p>

<h2>Huawei P70 Series: Specs</h2>

<p>Under the hood, the Huawei P70 series is expected to feature the Kirinm 9000S chipset. However, the performance might not be the same across all models. In a recent <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/03/31/huawei-p70-series-benchmarked-on-geekbench-with-new-upclocked-kirin-chip/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">GeekBench </a>sighting, it was revealed that the ALT-AL10 and ALT-AL80 are equipped with the Kirin 9000S. However, the higher-end P70 Pro+ and P70 Pro Art may feature a faster chipset. The more expensive models may feature an entirely new Kirin processor since they have a different core structure and clock speeds. But there&#8217;s a chance that these might just be refreshed or overclocked versions of the existing Kirin 9000S. </p>

<p>All four models will likely offer at least 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. But the P70 Pro+ and P70 Pro Art could go up to 16GB RAM with 512GB of storage as well. The base model might be powered by a 5,000mAh battery pack, while the P70 Pro may feature a larger 5,200mAh cell. The other two versions feature a 5,100mAh battery. These smartphones could bring support for 88W wired fast charging. However, the vanilla P70 tops out at 50W wireless fast charging and the rest come with 80W wireless fast charging. Another notable feature arriving on the P70 lineup is the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/02/12/huawei-p70-series-chipset-frequencies-satellite-communication-leak/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">satellite communication</a> technology. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-613910" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1-2048x1152.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<h2>Huawei P70 Pro: Camera</h2>

<p>For photography, the lineup is believed to offer a triple camera setup on the rear. <p>Huawei continues to expand its range of smartphones. The company&#8217;s next release is the much-awaited P70 series. This upcoming series will include the Huawei P70, P70 Pro, and P70 Art models. We&#8217;ve already heard a lot about these phones, including recent <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/03/31/huawei-p70-series-benchmarked-on-geekbench-with-new-upclocked-kirin-chip/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Geekbench benchmarks showing a new, faster Kirin chip</a>. Now, we have new information about the top model in the series, the P70 Art. Parts of the Huawei P70 Art&#8217;s back camera have been leaked. Here are the details&#8230;</p>

<h2><strong>Huawei P70 Art Camera Module Leaked, Confirms Unique Design</strong></h2>

<p>A leakster has recently disclosed the Huawei P70 Art&#8217;s camera module components, confirming the rumored back panel design. The design is even more distinctive than the previous generation&#8217;s &#8220;Island&#8221;, featuring an irregular shape that ensures unmatched industry recognition. The triple camera setup maintains the triangular layout seen in the standard and Pro versions.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="600" height="351" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/huawei-p70-art-lens-module.jpeg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-615973" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/huawei-p70-art-lens-module.jpeg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/huawei-p70-art-lens-module-300x176.jpeg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></figure></div>

<p>The Huawei P70 Art promises exceptional camera capabilities with its large aperture and Sony IMX989 1-inch sensor – the largest ever on a Huawei device. Its variable aperture technology intelligently adjusts for ideal image quality in various lighting conditions. Additionally, the P70 Art will introduce a new satellite communication solution, allowing users to communicate from anywhere on Earth, even in remote areas with no traditional signal.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="488" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/huawei-p70-art-lens-module-1-488x1024.jpeg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-615974" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/huawei-p70-art-lens-module-1-488x1024.jpeg 488w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/huawei-p70-art-lens-module-1-143x300.jpeg 143w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/huawei-p70-art-lens-module-1-200x420.jpeg 200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/huawei-p70-art-lens-module-1.jpeg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 488px) 100vw, 488px" /></figure></div>

<p>The entire Huawei P70 series will likely feature a 1.5K curved screen and the Kirin 9000S 5G processor. Expect a potential surprise launch later this month. While there are exciting developments regarding the upcoming series, there are also concerning rumors. A recent claim suggests the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/03/huawei-p70-launch-event-reportedly-cancelled/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">launch event has been canceled</a>, potentially delaying the series&#8217; release. We must remain patient as we await official confirmation.</p>

Now, smartphones from the P70 lineup have surfaced on the Geekbench benchmarking platform revealing key specifications.</p>

<p>In particular, three Huawei smartphones with model numbers AL10, AL80, and AL00 have been spotted on Geekbench. </p>

<p>The ALT-AL10 is believed to be the standard Huawei P70 which scored 1243 points in single-core tests and 3840 points in multi-core tests. The ALN-AL80, possibly the P70 Pro, achieved 1348 and 4114 points respectively.</p>

</figure>

<p>Most interestingly, the MNA-AL00 model scored significantly higher with 1784 points in single-core and 4589 points in multi-core performance tests. This is rumored to be the top-of-the-line Huawei P70 Art.</p>

<p>The AL10 and AL80 models appear to use the same Kirin 9000s chipset we’ve previously seen in the Mate 60 Pro. It has a 12-core configuration, with two high-performance cores running at 2.62GHz, six performance cores running at 2.15GHz, and four efficiency cores running at 1.53GHz. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="469" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Huawei-P70-Art-Geekbench.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei P70 Art Geekbench" class="wp-image-614921" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Huawei-P70-Art-Geekbench.jpg 469w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Huawei-P70-Art-Geekbench-235x300.jpg 235w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Huawei-P70-Art-Geekbench-328x420.jpg 328w" sizes="(max-width: 469px) 100vw, 469px" /><figcaption>Huawei P70 Art Geekbench</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>However, the AL00 model or the rumored P70 Art is speculated to feature a new Kirin chipset as the chipset has a different CPU structure. It has four cores clocked at 2.02GHz, three cores running at 2.75GHz, and a single core with 3.19GHz speed. The Geekbench listing also reveals that the smartphone has 12GB of RAM.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Apart from this, the three smartphones have also appeared on China’s Radio certification with similar model numbers — ADY-AL10 (P70), HBN-AL80 (P70 Pro), and HBP-AL00 (P70 Art). </p>

<p>Rumors about <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Huawei</a>&#8216;s upcoming flagship P70 series have been swirling for a while now. A recent wave of leaks now suggests that an official unveiling is imminent.</p>

<p>A leaked screenshot of what appears to be a Huawei P70 series launch poster surfaced on Weibo suggesting a possible launch date of April 2nd.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="536" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Huawei-P70-Series-Launch-Date-1024x536.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-614591" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Huawei-P70-Series-Launch-Date-1024x536.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Huawei-P70-Series-Launch-Date-300x157.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Huawei-P70-Series-Launch-Date-768x402.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Huawei-P70-Series-Launch-Date-696x364.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Huawei-P70-Series-Launch-Date-1068x559.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Huawei-P70-Series-Launch-Date-803x420.jpg 803w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Huawei-P70-Series-Launch-Date.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Following this leak, other sources started revealing key specifications of the smartphones. These leaks suggest that the P70 series might comprise four models — the Huawei P70, P70 Pro, P70 Pro+, and P70 Art.</p>

<p>However, it&#8217;s important to note that the authenticity of these leaks hasn&#8217;t been confirmed yet, so it&#8217;s best to approach them with caution.</p>

<p>Rumors suggest that Huawei plans to use the Kirin 9000S chipset in all P70 models. However, the chipset, manufactured by SMIC, is currently facing scrutiny due to potential violations of US export restrictions.</p>

<p>In terms of display sizes, the P70 series is expected to feature panels ranging from 6.58 inches to 6.76 inches, all using LTPO OLED technology.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/huawei-p70-series-pre-order-leak-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt=""/></figure></div>

<p>The Pro and Pro+ models may come equipped with a 50MP IMX989 1&#8243; main camera sensor, while the standard P70 might feature a 50MP OV50H sensor. Additionally, all variants are said to share a 13MP selfie camera.</p>

<p>Battery capacities are rumored to range from 5,000 mAh to 5,200 mAh, with support for fast-wired charging up to 88W and wireless charging up to 80W. As for pricing, if the leaks are accurate, it could start at around $700 for the base P70 model and go up to $1,400 for the top-of-the-line P70 Art variant.</p>

<p>Here’s a breakdown of the specs of the Huawei P70 series:</p>

<figure class="wp-block-table"><table><tbody><tr><td><br></td><td><strong>Huawei P70</strong></td><td><strong>Huawei P70 Pro</strong></td><td><strong>Huawei P70 Pro+</strong></td><td><strong>Huawei P70 Art</strong></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Chipset</strong></td><td>Kirin 9000S</td><td>Kirin 9000S</td><td>Kirin 9000S</td><td>Kirin 9000S</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Display</strong></td><td>6.58&#8243; LTPO OLED</td><td>6.76&#8243; LTPO OLED</td><td>6.76&#8243; LTPO OLED</td><td>6.76&#8243; LTPO OLED</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Main camera</strong></td><td>50 MP OV50H 1/1.3</td><td>50 MP OV50H 1/1.3</td><td>50 MP IMX989 1&#8243;</td><td>50 MP IMX989 1&#8243;</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Selfie camera</strong></td><td>13 MP 1/2.36&#8243;</td><td>13 MP 1/2.36&#8243;</td><td>13 MP 1/2.36&#8243;</td><td>13 MP 1/2.36&#8243;</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Battery</strong></td><td>5,000 mAh</td><td>5,200 mAh</td><td>5,100 mAh</td><td>5,100 mAh</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Charging</strong></td><td>88W wired + 50W wireless</td><td>88W wired + 80W wireless</td><td>88W wired + 80W wireless</td><td>88W wired + 80W wireless</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Starting price</strong></td><td>CNY4,999 ($700) for 12/512 GB</td><td>CNY6,999 ($970) for 12/256 GB</td><td>CNY8,999 ($1,200) for 16/512 GB</td><td>CNY9,999 ($1,400) for 16/512 GB</td></tr></tbody></table></figure>

New information suggests that the upcoming smartphones might offer varied chipset frequencies across models, along with other exciting upgrades.</p>

<h2>Huawei P70 Series Will Also Feature Curved Displays</h2>

<p>According to Weibo tipster Smart Pikachu, the standard and high-end P70 models could utilize a robust Kirin chipset, potentially the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/kirin-9000s/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Kirin 9000s</a> seen in the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-mate-60/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mate 60 series</a>. However, there&#8217;s a twist: the high-end models like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-p70-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">P70 Pro</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-p70-art/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">P70 Art</a>, and the rumored P70 Pro+ might sport an overclocked version of this chipset, aiming for a 20% performance boost. While the core architecture remains under wraps, different clock speeds could be the key to achieving this improvement. According to reports, China&#8217;s largest chipmaker SMIC, is gearing up for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/02/06/report-chinas-smic-to-begin-production-of-5nm-chips-for-huawei/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">production of these 5nm chips</a>.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="948" height="260" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/image-37.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-604330" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/image-37.png 948w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/image-37-300x82.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/image-37-768x211.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/image-37-696x191.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 948px) 100vw, 948px" /></figure></div>

<p>The tipster also sheds light on the display, suggesting all four P70 models might flaunt a curved 1.5K resolution screen for enhanced visuals. Interestingly, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/huawei/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Huawei</a> is reportedly testing various screen sizes and experimenting with a blend of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/01/18/huawei-p70-series-may-feature-china-made-oled-panels-from-boe-csot-visionox-tianma/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">four China-made display panels</a>, hinting at significant display upgrades compared to previous generations.</p>

<p>But the excitement doesn&#8217;t stop there. The P70 series could mark a major shift in Huawei&#8217;s approach to satellite communication technology. Tipsters claim all models might integrate satellite features, potentially offering an improved and more widespread experience. Previously, satellite connectivity was mostly limited to high-end models, with the base variants missing out.</p>

<p>Huawei pioneered smartphone satellite connectivity with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-50-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mate 50 Pro</a> in 2022, enabling one-way satellite SMS functionality. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-p60-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">P60 Pro</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-p60-art/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">P60 Art</a> took it a step further with two-way satellite SMS, while the Mate 60 series introduced two-way satellite calling for the Pro and Pro+ models. The P70 series could see satellite features democratized across all models, or follow the Mate 60 strategy with higher-end variants offering calling capabilities and the base model retaining two-way SMS.</p>

<p>The Huawei P70 series is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/01/19/huawei-p70-launch-march-2024/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">expected to launch</a> in the Chinese market by the end of March or early April. Additionally, the company is also actively developing <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/01/19/huawei-reveals-harmonyos-next-will-be-based-on-harmony-kernel/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">HarmonyOS NEXT</a>, a next-generation operating system built on its proprietary kernel. This operating system will entirely eliminate support for Android apps.</p>

<p>Lately, we have been hearing a lot about these handsets. A new leak from the weekend details the device’s camera specs.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="672" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Huawei-P60-1024x672.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei P60" class="wp-image-525099" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Huawei-P60-1024x672.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Huawei-P60-300x197.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Huawei-P60-768x504.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Huawei-P60-696x457.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Huawei-P60-1068x701.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Huawei-P60-640x420.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Huawei-P60-741x486.jpg 741w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Huawei-P60.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Huawei P60</figcaption></figure>

<p>According to <em>Digital Chat Station</em>, the upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Huawei-P70/">Huawei P70</a> will sport a 50MP Sony IMX989 primary sensor with variable aperture. This main camera will be paired with a 50MP ultrawide unit and a 50MP 4x periscope telephoto shooter with macro capabilities.</p>

<p>Earlier the same source <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/01/20/huawei-p70-series-display-camera-specs-leak/">had revealed</a> the phone will feature a 50MP OmniVision OV50H primary camera.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It seems like the model with the Sony sensor could be Huawei P70 Art. In contrast, the one with the OmniVision sensor might be the Huawei P70&nbsp; Pro.</p>

<p>Earlier today, Digital Chat Station disclosed that the P70 family will use two displays. These screens will measure 6.5 and 6.8 inches. Both panels will offer a 1.5K resolution and LTPO tech. They will have micro curves on all sides.</p>

<p>The Huawei P70 series is expected to be powered by a 5G-enabled HiSilicon chip. The smartphone could house a Kirin 9000S SoC like the Mate 60 lineup. As per Ming-Chi Kuo, the Art model will use <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/11/29/huawei-p70-art-to-feature-1-inch-sony-imx989-sensor-paired-with-glass-plastic-hybrid-lens-kuo/">1G6P glass-plastic hybrid lenses</a>.</p>

<p>We look forward to learning more about the Huawei P70 family. If it is indeed going official in two months, more details about these phones should emerge on the internet.</p>

<p>According to a new Weibo post by tipster Digital Chat Station, advancements in domestic screen technology, particularly the implementation of 8T LTPO technology, have significantly enhanced user experience and acceptance. The successful resolution of eye protection concerns through the adoption of 3Pulse/1Pulse and full high-frequency dimming solutions has made domestic screens more competitive in the market. It appears that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a> P70 series may feature OLED display panels from as many as four different China-based display manufacturers.</p>

<h3><strong>Four Chinese manufacturers may provide Huawei P70 series display panels</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-style-default"><img loading="lazy" width="828" height="254" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/image-78.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-598972" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/image-78.png 828w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/image-78-300x92.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/image-78-768x236.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/image-78-696x214.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 828px) 100vw, 828px" /></figure>

<p>The leaker claimed that an upcoming flagship will be equipped with display panels from local manufacturers, such as BOE, COST, Visionox, and Tianma. As it is known, Huawei is presently prioritizing the advancement of the domestic industrial chain, opting to bolster local development rather than depending on external brands from outside of China.</p>

<p>Hence, it is speculated that the tipster could be talking about the P70 series, which is expected to include at least three models, such as the Huawei P70, the Huawei P70 Pro, and the Huawei P70 Art. These devices are expected to feature the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/kirin-9100">Kirin 9100</a> or the existing <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/01/12/huawei-p70-tipped-for-familiar-kirin-9000s-chip/">Kirin 9000s chipset</a> instead of using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8-series chipsets like other brands.</p>

<p>Huawei’s P-series flagship phones are known for delivering top-notch photography experiences, and the same is expected from the P70 lineup. There is a possibility that the P70 and 70 Pro may feature Huawei’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/11/07/huawei-p70-launch-with-in-house-cameras/">in-house camera sensors</a> or OmniVision cameras. On the other hand, the Huawei P70 Art may come equipped with a one-inch, 50-megapixel <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/11/29/huawei-p70-art-to-feature-1-inch-sony-imx989-sensor-paired-with-glass-plastic-hybrid-lens-kuo/">Sony IMX989</a> camera sensor.</p>

<p>The Huawei P70 series leaks suggest it may not launch in Q1 this year. Hence, it is likely that the P70 family may break at some point in the second quarter.</p>

<p>Huawei is back in action following the launch of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/?post_type=aps-products&amp;s=Huawei+Mate+60">Mate 60 series</a> powered by its in-house HiSilicon Kirin 9000s chip. Rumors say that the company is also working on the P70 series for 2024.</p>

<p>Not much is known about these smartphones. But thanks to a reliable source, we have now learned the camera sensor and the type of lens that will be used on the most premium model.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="450" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Screenshot-2023-03-23-160011-1024x450.png?x44794" alt="Huawei P60 Series" class="wp-image-524663" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Screenshot-2023-03-23-160011-1024x450.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Screenshot-2023-03-23-160011-300x132.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Screenshot-2023-03-23-160011-768x338.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Screenshot-2023-03-23-160011-1536x675.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Screenshot-2023-03-23-160011-696x306.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Screenshot-2023-03-23-160011-1068x470.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Screenshot-2023-03-23-160011-955x420.png 955w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Screenshot-2023-03-23-160011.png 1774w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Huawei P60 Series</figcaption></figure>

<p>Just like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/?post_type=aps-products&amp;s=Huawei+P60">Huawei P60 series</a>, the Huawei P70 series is expected to comprise three devices. These handsets will officially go by Huawei P70, Huawei P70 Pro, and Huawei P70 Art.</p>

<p>According to analyst <a href="https://medium.com/@mingchikuo/%E7%8E%BB%E5%A1%91%E6%B7%B7%E5%90%88%E9%8F%A1%E9%A0%AD%E5%9C%A8apple%E8%88%87%E8%8F%AF%E7%82%BA%E6%8E%A1%E7%94%A8%E5%BE%8C-%E5%B0%87%E6%88%90%E7%82%BA%E9%8F%A1%E9%A0%AD%E7%94%A2%E6%A5%AD%E7%9A%84%E6%96%B0%E9%97%9C%E9%8D%B5%E8%B6%A8%E5%8B%A2-the-glass-plastic-hybrid-lens-will-become-a-new-key-trend-in-the-4eda130090d4"><em>Ming-Chi Kuo</em></a>, the P70 Art, the top-end model in the lineup, will feature a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor. Most importantly, this camera sensor will be paired with a 1G6P glass-plastic hybrid lens.</p>

<p>The only other smartphone on the market with this type of lens (1G3P) is the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-15-pro-max/">iPhone 15 Pro Max</a>. The device uses the said lens for its tetraprism zoom camera.</p>

<p>Glass-plastic hybrid lenses are more deformation-resistant and offer better optical performance. Largan and Sunny Optical are the leading manufacturers of this type of lens.</p>

<p>The 1G6P lens that Huawei will utilize costs around $12 at the prototype stage. However, the cost is forecasted to lower down to $6-7 in mass production with an improvement in yield rates.</p>

<p>Other smartphone brands are anticipated to follow the trend of using glass-plastic hybrid lenses with a wider adoption by Apple and Huawei.</p>

<p>The Huawei P70 series is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/11/21/xiaomi-14-ultra-vivo-x100-ultra-huawei-p70-launch-timeline/">rumored to launch</a> in March 2024, followed by Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Vivo X100 Ultra in April.</p>
