What the event is all about still remains in the dark but it looks like details are already streaming in. A new leaked poster seems to have revealed what the event is likely about.</p>

<p>Already, there is news making the rounds that Nokia devices would use the Flyme 6 in the near future but now, the leaked document hints at the inclusion of the mBack design on Nokia phones. the document looks like the front page of a licensing agreement between both companies but no other part of it is visible.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">Read More:</span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/05/24/leaked-poster-reveals-meizu-nokia-joint-event-next-month/">Leaked Poster Reveals Meizu-Nokia Joint Event Next Month</a></strong></p>
<p>While we cannot say for sure if this is authentic or not, it is not out of place if such collaborative effort is in the works. For one, Meizu has been a long time admirer of Nokia even to the extent of using Nokia devices on a couple of its launch posters. Back in 2015, Meizu sent out the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/15/meizu-m2-launch-invite-comes-with-nokia-1110-inside/">invite for the M2 along with a Nokia 1110</a> photo and just last year, they also sent out <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2016/08/24/meizu-september-5-release-new-phone/">invites for another launch along with a Nokia E71</a>.  That doesn&#8217;t confirm anything though, so we&#8217;ll wait to see what the two companies have in store for us.</p>

The diagrams revealed through patent applications suggest the arrival of innovative dual screens on future smartphones from <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/meizu/" target="_blank">Meizu</a>.</p>
<p>The patent filing with patent number 201610589545.X shows inclusion of two displays on the smartphone. The first one is the main screen at the front and the other one is a smaller display present on the rear side of the device. Both the front and rear screens will reportedly be able to interact with each other.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-112492 aligncenter" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Meizu-New-mBack-Technology.png?x44794" alt="Meizu's new Mback technology" width="600" height="922" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Meizu-New-mBack-Technology.png 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Meizu-New-mBack-Technology-195x300.png 195w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>

<p>This secondary screen can also double up for Back function present on Android phones. Speculations suggest that it can be turn out to be a feature of the next generation mBack button.</p>
<p>When the smartphone is running low on power, it will automatically switch from large main screen to the secondary screen at the back. Since the screen at the back is small, this can be the ultimate power saving feature.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/meizu-m5-note-17.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-109797" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/meizu-m5-note-17.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu-m5-note-17" width="950" height="635" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/meizu-m5-note-17.jpg 950w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/meizu-m5-note-17-300x201.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/meizu-m5-note-17-768x513.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 950px) 100vw, 950px" /></a></p>
<p>In August, Meizu was awarded for the versatile mBack patent that it had filed in 2012. The mBack feature offers four kinds of function for efficient navigation on the device.</p>
<p>To recap, Meizu&#8217;s mBack feature makes the home button all the more innovative. The mBack works as a fingerprint reader when the Home button is held for few seconds. Tapping on it lets the user access the previous page and pressing it allows to access Home button function. A long press on it can lock the device. The feature is available on several Meizu phones such as <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-m5-note/" target="_blank">Meizu M5 Note</a>, and <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-m5/">Meizu M5</a>.</p>

The Chinese company has accused fellow Chinese rivals OPPO, Xiaomi and Smartisan of infringing on its mBack patent.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/screen-shot-2016-10-19-at-2-18-44-pm/" rel="attachment wp-att-103249"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-103249" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Screen-Shot-2016-10-19-at-2.18.44-PM.png?x44794" alt="meizu mback" width="600" height="508" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Screen-Shot-2016-10-19-at-2.18.44-PM.png 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Screen-Shot-2016-10-19-at-2.18.44-PM-300x254.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Screen-Shot-2016-10-19-at-2.18.44-PM-95x80.png 95w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>If you don&#8217;t know, Meizu mBack was coined from the word &#8220;I&#8217;m Back&#8221; and refers to the specialized home button that eliminated the for a separate back button on the phone, all integrated into the home button. The Meizu mBack offers four operations which users can implement for faster and more comfortable use of their Meizu smartphone. The mBack button functions as a fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone, also unlocks apps and takes you back to previous page when tapped. In addition, it takes you to the home page from any page on the pone and when pressed for long, it locks the phone.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/screen-shot-2016-10-19-at-2-09-17-pm/" rel="attachment wp-att-103246"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-103246" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Screen-Shot-2016-10-19-at-2.09.17-PM.png?x44794" alt="meizu" width="598" height="416" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Screen-Shot-2016-10-19-at-2.09.17-PM.png 598w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Screen-Shot-2016-10-19-at-2.09.17-PM-300x209.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 598px) 100vw, 598px" /></a></p>
<p>Meizu patented this design sometime back in China and has since being using it on successive Meizu smartphones. However, the company is accusing fellow Chinese phonemaker Smartisan of using its patented design without consent. Smartisan just released its Smartisan M1 and M1L smartphones in China and just like the iPhone 7, the phone has a round home button but in function the home key is similar to Meizu mBack.</p>

<p>Meizu VP has come all out via a couple of Weibo posts to claim this is an infringement of its mBack patent and even went as far as accusing Xiaomi, OPPO and a few others of infringing on its patent. Perhaps we&#8217;ll be seeing a couple of law suits very soon and would keep an eye on this. The companies mentioned are yet to respond.</p>
