But unfortunately, the device is yet to receive an Android 10 update, the latest version of Android released in September 2019. Thankfully, the firm has now started seeding out the first batch of stable </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Android-10/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Android 10</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> build to beta testers.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Xiaomi </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/24/xiaomi-mi-9-pro-5g-launched-with-sd855-12-gb-ram-and-30w-wireless-charging-in-china/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">launched the Mi 9 Pro</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> with 5G connectivity in the second half of 2019 exclusively for China. Although Android 10 was out when the device hit the shelves, it came with Android 9.0 Pie but with </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI-11"><span style="font-weight: 400;">MIUI 11</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> onboard. However, the company did not update it to the latest version of Android until now even though it is the brand’s first 5G phone in its home country.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It took Xiaomi nearly six months to roll out the first batch of stable Android 10 update to the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-9-pro-5g/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Mi 9 Pro 5G</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Better late than never, the update is currently being seeded out to the beta users and thus stable users will have to still hang on for a while. The OTA update weighs 2.6GB in size and bumps up the security patch level to March 2020.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If the initial beta users do not encounter any critical bugs, then the same build will be rolled out as stable to normal users. Else, the beta users will receive another patch to fix those bugs and only then the normal users will get to use Android 10 on their Mi 9 Pro 5G.</span></p>

He announced that after more than a year of hard work, Xiaomi&#8217;s very own research and development production line is finally ready.</p>
<p>According to the Senior Executive, the R&amp;D line is ready to start production and that he is currently in possession of the first <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-9-pro-5g/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mi 9 Pro 5G</a> variant that was made within the facility. Lin Bin also stated that the newly readied facility will pave the way for intelligent manufacturing and will be used in future collaborations as well.</p>
<figure id="attachment_298202" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-298202" style="width: 690px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-298202 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/64b587a4ly1gafvngpe79j21900u0gt9.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi New R&amp;D Facility" width="690" height="460" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/64b587a4ly1gafvngpe79j21900u0gt9.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/64b587a4ly1gafvngpe79j21900u0gt9-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/64b587a4ly1gafvngpe79j21900u0gt9-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-298202" class="wp-caption-text">Lin Bin from Xiaomi Group inaugurating the event in the new R&amp;D facility</figcaption></figure>
<p>Reportedly, the facility being in charge of research and development for the Xiaomi&#8217;s flagship smartphones is just one of its diverse roles. It will also house the Chinese tech giant&#8217;s partners that will help develop both software and hardware for the large automation equipment. In other words, a truly smart factory that does not require human intervention or input for a majority of the cases.</p>

<p>In the last couple of years, Xiaomi has seen an increase in investments of its research and development department. At a business conference on 24th December 2019, Lei Jun, Co Founder and Chairman of Xiaomi Group, stated that the company has invested heavily in research and development alone. According to him, the company had invested 5.8 billion Yuan last year while this years investment is expected to surpass the 7 billion Yuan. For the next year, Lei Jun predicts the number will exceed even 10 billion Yuan.</p>

<p>He believes that the company needs to heavily invest in R&amp;D as it is where the future is uncovered. Innovation is what keeps the company ahead of the curve and with talent and innovation will it lead to success, according to Lei Jun.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-279737 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-Teardown-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G Teardown" width="690" height="690" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-Teardown-2.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-Teardown-2-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-Teardown-2-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-Teardown-2-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>When the device is opened up, you see that there&#8217;s a 30W custom chip for wireless charging support as well as a larger area for heat dissipation graphite embedded in the motherboard.</p>
<p>Further, it seems that the phone is sealed airtight thanks to the camera edge foam sealing. As for the camera sensors, there&#8217;s a 48-megapixel primary sensor from Sony, combined with a 12-megapixel portrait lens and a 16-megapixel super wide-angle lens. On the front side, you get a 20-megapixel snapper with support for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ai">AI</a>-based beautification features.</p>

<p>The Mi 9 Pro 5G comes with a motherboard with a two-layer stacked design which carries the newly introduced 5G baseband and RF chip. The company has also used a 10 x 10 x 3.5 horizontal linear motor that can offer 10ms startup and braking time for a sensitive feedback when clicked. It is claimed to offer more than 100 different types of vibration effects to distinguish one from another.</p>
<p>The smartphone also has a 1.04cc large sound cavity for offering maximum loudness from the device without affecting the clarity or quality. The device is powered by a 4,000mAh battery, which covers up majority of the phone&#8217;s internal space.</p>

As per Xiaomi, using this system, the core temperature of the smartphone can be reduced by 10.2-degree which aims to meet the cooling needs for the 5G era.</p>

The phone&#8217;s pricing makes it the cheapest <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/5g">5G</a> flagship around and that was reflected in the performance of its sale today. All available units were sold out in a matter of seconds. We&#8217;ve got some cool unboxing pictures of the Mi 9 Pro 5G for your delight. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/mi-9-pro-5g-3.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-279195" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/mi-9-pro-5g-3.jpg?x10805" alt="Mi 9 Pro 5G" width="600" height="399" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/mi-9-pro-5g-3.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/mi-9-pro-5g-3-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>The smartphone is unarguably a beauty to behold even though we may be getting tired of seeing almost the same notch design on phone over and over again. Notwithstanding, Xiaomi tweaked the phone with several interesting stuff like a new paint job which adds class to the overall outlook. The device also comes with a slimmer build which meant the 3.5mm audio jack is missing. The phone uses a Type-C charging port which delivers faster charging. It also comes with an IR blaster and dual SIM slots but we believe the second SIM slot is a 4G slot.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/mi-9-pro-5g-8.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-279200" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/mi-9-pro-5g-8.jpg?x10805" alt="Mi 9 Pro 5G" width="600" height="399" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/mi-9-pro-5g-8.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/mi-9-pro-5g-8-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>

<p>As a reminder, the Mi 9 Pro 5G packs a  6.39-inch Super AMOLED display with dot notch. With 19.5:9 aspect ratio display on board, the phone offers a screen-to-body ratio of 90.7 percent. <p>The Mi 9 Pro also features a 4,000mAh battery that comes with support for 40W wired charging which takes 48 minutes to fully charge the device by using the in-box 45W charger. The Mi 9 Pro 5G also supports 30W wireless charging and 10W reverse charging. It takes 69 minutes to fully charge the Mi 9 Pro 5G through 30W wireless charging. The pricing starts at 3699 yuan ($520) for the 8GB+128GB version.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/mi-9-pro-5g.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-279193" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/mi-9-pro-5g.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G" width="600" height="399" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/mi-9-pro-5g.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/mi-9-pro-5g-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>

Today, it has revealed more details about the upcoming flagship.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-277665" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-all-colors.jpg?x10805" alt="Mi 9 Pro 5G" width="690" height="920" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-all-colors.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-all-colors-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-all-colors-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<h5><strong>Battery</strong></h5>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G will pack a 4000mAh battery, a significant bump from the 3300mAh in the Mi 9. The increase in battery capacity is necessary since this is a 5G device and a 3300mAh battery will not suffice. Xiaomi says, even with the battery capacity, the Mi 9 Pro 5G isn&#8217;t heavy as it weighs 196 grams.</p>
[envira-gallery id=&#8221;277672&#8243;]
<p>Xiaomi also released a battery performance comparison sheet of the Mi 9 and the Mi 9 Pro 5G. The result shows the Mi 9 Pro 5G still has 21% battery left after 7 hours of use which include gaming, video and audio streaming, video recording, video calling, and car navigation.</p>
<p>The Mi 9 Pro 5G will support 40W wired charging and 30W wireless charging, so you can fill up the phone in the shortest time possible.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-277666" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-Audio.jpg?x10805" alt="Mi 9 Pro 5G Audio" width="690" height="920" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-Audio.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-Audio-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-Audio-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<h5><strong>Audio</strong></h5>
<p>The official Xiaomi Weibo account also confirmed that the Mi 9 Pro 5G will come with a 1.04CC sound cavity, a 1217 super linear speaker, a smart PA, and support for Low Latency and High Definition Codec (LHDC) technology. All these should provide loud and impressive audio performance.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
[envira-gallery id=&#8221;277676&#8243;]
<h5><strong>HD Vibration (4D Shock)</strong></h5>
<p>The Mi 9 Pro will also have 4D shock or HD vibration. This should provide a more immersive experience when playing games. Xiaomi says HD Vibration supports up to 150 different vibration modes and has a user interface that adapts to different scenes.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h5><strong>NFC eID and Car Key</strong></h5>
<p>The Mi 9 Pro 5G will have NFC with support for eID which is required if you want to use the high-speed train, board a plane, or check into a hotel. It will also be able to work as your car key.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-277671" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-no-4G.png?x10805" alt="Mi 9 Pro 5G no 4G" width="529" height="364" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-no-4G.png 529w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-no-4G-300x206.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-no-4G-100x70.png 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-no-4G-218x150.png 218w" sizes="(max-width: 529px) 100vw, 529px" /></p>
<h5><strong>No 4G model, look to other “Xiaomi” phones</strong></h5>
<p>If you are expecting a 4G version of the Mi 9 Pro, Xiaomi&#8217;s co-founder and CEO, Lei Jun, announced on Weibo that all versions of the phone are 5G and there is no 4G version. Based on the post, we can infer that there will be other configurations available with less RAM and storage. He adds that those who want a 4G phone should consider other flagships such as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-9/">Mi 9</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-k20-pro/">Redmi K20 Pro</a>, or <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-black-shark-2/">Black Shark 2</a>.</p>

In the first quarter of the year, Xiaomi launched the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-9/">Mi 9</a>, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-9-transparent-edition/">Mi 9 Transparent Edition</a>, and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-9-se/">Mi 9 SE</a>. Then in June, it followed it up with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-9t/">Mi 9T</a>, and then <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-9t-pro/">Mi 9T Pro</a> in August. Just last week it announced the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-9-lite/">Mi 9 Lite</a>. However, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> is not yet done with the series as it will announce the Mi 9 Pro 5G at an event on September 24. Here is a summary of what we already know about the phone.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-276728" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Xiaomi-Mi-9-Pro-5g-dream-White-1-e1568711639164.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5g dream White" width="690" height="519" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Xiaomi-Mi-9-Pro-5g-dream-White-1-e1568711639164.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Xiaomi-Mi-9-Pro-5g-dream-White-1-e1568711639164-300x226.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Xiaomi-Mi-9-Pro-5g-dream-White-1-e1568711639164-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Xiaomi-Mi-9-Pro-5g-dream-White-1-e1568711639164-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Xiaomi-Mi-9-Pro-5g-dream-White-1-e1568711639164-558x420.jpg 558w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<h5><strong>Design</strong></h5>
<p>The Mi 9 Pro 5G will retain the design of the Mi 9. It will have triple rear cameras arranged vertically and on the left side. On the front, the phone will also keep the 6.39-inch display and waterdrop notch of the Mi 9. However, the new member of the Mi 9 family will come in a new white color variant similar to the Mi A3&#8217;s More Than White variant.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h5><strong>New Features</strong></h5>
<p>The main upgrades are actually inside of the Mi 9 Pro 5G. First, it will come with the new Snapdragon 855 Plus processor. It will also come with 12GB of RAM like the Mi 9 Transparent Edition, but it will pack more storage &#8211; 512GB to exact.</p>
<p>The Mi 9 Pro 5G will have a 4000mAh battery capacity, bigger than that of the Mi 9. It will also support 40W wired charging, a significant bump from the 27W Mi Turbo Wired Charging that launched with the Mi 9. It has also been confirmed that it will have support for Wireless Charging but 30W this time. The Mi 9 Pro 5G will also support 10W reverse wireless charging. This is the same wireless charging speed of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-mix-3-512gb/">Mi MIX 3</a> and a lot of other phones.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-276904 td-animation-stack-type0-2" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/68418ffbly1g72vavrwnlj20u0140juw.jpg?x10805" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/68418ffbly1g72vavrwnlj20u0140juw.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/68418ffbly1g72vavrwnlj20u0140juw-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/68418ffbly1g72vavrwnlj20u0140juw-315x420.jpg 315w" alt="" width="690" height="920" /></p>
<p>Another feature that has been confirmed is VLC liquid cooling which has a larger cooling area and is more efficient. Xiaomi also confirmed that the Mi 9 Pro 5G will have a transverse linear motor for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/20/xiaomi-mi-9-pro-5g-best-haptics-on-android/">better haptic feedback</a>. There is a possibility it will be best that of its competitors including <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/meizu">Meizu</a>&#8216;s new mEngine 3.0 present in its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-16s-pro/">16s Pro</a> flagship.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h5><strong>Price</strong></h5>
<p>The price of the Mi 9 Pro 5G is still unknown but Xiaomi will want to price it competitively. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/13/vivo-adds-a-high-end-12gb-256gb-variant-for-the-iqoo-pro-5g-in-china/">Vivo iQOO Pro 5G with 12GB of RAM and 256GB</a> of storage is priced at ¥4498 (~$634). It has an 8GB + 128GB version priced at ¥3798 (~$535). If Xiaomi wants to beat the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/08/22/iqoo-pro-launches-with-snapdragon-855-available-in-4g-and-5g-variants/">iQOO Pro</a>, then it will have to price its Mi 9 Pro 5G at around the same price tag as the 12GB RAM iQOO Pro 5G. It will also have to release a variant with lesser RAM and storage that can compete with the base model of the iQOO Pro 5G.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>UP NEXT: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/19/redmi-k20-pro-exclusive-edition-launched/">Redmi K20 Pro Exclusive Editon arrives with more power and storage</a></strong></h6>

After revealing an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/20/will-the-xiaomi-mi-mix-5g-be-a-foldable-smartphone/">extremely curved design for the Mi Mix 5G</a> model earlier today, Xiaomi&#8217;s CEO, Lei Jun has revealed one important feature on the second model.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/mi9-back-featured-1.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-240195" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/mi9-back-featured-1.jpg?x10805" alt="mi9-back-featured" width="720" height="420" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/mi9-back-featured-1.jpg 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/mi9-back-featured-1-300x175.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></a></p>
<p>Chinese smartphones have never been popular for their haptics. In fact, even smartphones from <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus">OnePlus</a> have fared poorly for haptics feedback. Things did improve with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-7-pro-5g/">OnePlus 7 Pro</a> to a great extent but still, neither Xiaomi nor <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a> flagships fare well in this department.</p>
<p>But Xiaomi wants to change that with the Mi 9 Pro 5G.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Screenshot-2019-09-20-at-7.26.11-PM.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-277519" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Screenshot-2019-09-20-at-7.26.11-PM.png?x10805" alt="Mi 9 Pro 5g haptics Xiaomi CEO" width="601" height="413" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Screenshot-2019-09-20-at-7.26.11-PM.png 601w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Screenshot-2019-09-20-at-7.26.11-PM-300x206.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Screenshot-2019-09-20-at-7.26.11-PM-100x70.png 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Screenshot-2019-09-20-at-7.26.11-PM-218x150.png 218w" sizes="(max-width: 601px) 100vw, 601px" /></a></p>
<p>After announcing that the new Mi 9 Pro 5G will feature <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/19/mi-9-pro-5g-sd855-plus-vc-liquid-cooling/">strong haptics via a custom-made “transverse linear motor”</a>, Lei Jun reveals that this implementation is probably the best in the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android">Android</a> ecosystem. Currently, it&#8217;s smartphones like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google">Google</a> Pixels, LG V30, and Samsung Galaxy Note series models that have the best haptics in the Android market. But the Mi 9 Pro 5G may join this premium list soon.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/mi-9-pro-5g-haptic-feedback.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-277026" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/mi-9-pro-5g-haptic-feedback.jpg?x10805" alt="Mi 9 Pro 5G Haptic Feedback" width="690" height="920" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/mi-9-pro-5g-haptic-feedback.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/mi-9-pro-5g-haptic-feedback-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/mi-9-pro-5g-haptic-feedback-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p>The earlier teaser revealed that the haptic feedback has a start-stop speed of 10ms, just like a mechanical keyboard. With this Vibration HD feature, the phone will also offer a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/4d">4D</a> immersive gaming experience.</p>
<p>So are you excited for the Mi 9 Pro 5G?</p>

One of the features we&#8217;ve heard a lot about is the device&#8217;s fast charging capabilities, and it turns out even Lei Jun has something to say about it.</p>
<p>The founder of Xiaomi has gone to Weibo, revealing the charge times for the new device. According to Lei Jun, Xiaomi&#8217;s 40W wired fast charging will bring the phone from 0% to 100% in a mere 48 minutes, fairly impressive. Meanwhile, the 30W wireless charging also works remarkably fast, going from 0% to 100% in 69 minutes, nice.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400"><div class="su-note" style="border-color:#e5e5e5;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"><div class="su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim" style="background-color:#ffffff;border-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"></span><b>Editor&#8217;s Pick: </b><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/18/redmi-k20-pro-teardown-reveals-neatly-assembled-internals-and-water-resistance/"><b>Redmi K20 Pro teardown reveals neatly assembled internals and water resistance</b></a><span style="font-weight: 400"></div></div></span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-276904" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/68418ffbly1g72vavrwnlj20u0140juw.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="690" height="920" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/68418ffbly1g72vavrwnlj20u0140juw.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/68418ffbly1g72vavrwnlj20u0140juw-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/68418ffbly1g72vavrwnlj20u0140juw-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>Additionally, the phone also supports 10W reverse wireless charging, making it the first flagship smartphone from the company this year to support reverse wireless charging. This means that the phone can be used to power other devices like headphones, watches, razors and electric toothbrushes, or even your friend&#8217;s device if you&#8217;re feeling generous.</p>
<p>We are eagerly waiting for the 24th to arrive so that we finally get a proper glimpse at Xiaomi&#8217;s Mi 9 Pro 5G and, more interestingly, the Mi MIX 4 5G. We can also expect Xiaomi to unveil the latest version of MIUI at the event, that being MIUI 11. Until then, stay tuned on Gizmochina for any updates regarding Xiaomi and the upcoming launch.</p>

<p>Ahead of the phone&#8217;s official launch in China, the company has shared a new teaser poster on Weibo which reveals some key details about the phone&#8217;s charging capabilities. Xiaomi confirms that Mi 9 Pro <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/5g">5G</a> will come with Mi Charge Turbo triple fast charging feature.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-276855 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-Mi-Charge-Turbo.jpg?x10805" alt="Mi 9 Pro 5G Mi Charge Turbo Support" width="690" height="920" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-Mi-Charge-Turbo.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-Mi-Charge-Turbo-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-9-Pro-5G-Mi-Charge-Turbo-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>The smartphone will have 40W wired fast charging, 30W wireless fast charging as well as 10W reverse charging support. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/09/xiaomi-announces-mi-charge-turbo-30w-wireless-charging-mi-9-pro-5g/">30W Super Wireless Flash</a> charing is claimed by the company to charge the 4,000mAh battery up to 50 percent in 25 minutes and takes around 69 minutes to fully charge.</p>
<p>Additionally, the phone also supports 10W reverse wireless charging, making it the first flagship smartphone from the company this year to support reverse wireless charging. This means that the phone can be used to power other devices.</p>
<div class="su-note" style="border-color:#e5e5e5;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"><div class="su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim" style="background-color:#ffffff;border-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">Editor&#8217;s Pick:</span> </strong><a title="Huawei Mate 30 Rumor Roundup: All you need to know about the upcoming flagships" href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/17/huawei-mate-30-rumor-roundup-all-you-need-to-know-about-the-upcoming-flagships/" rel="bookmark"><strong>Huawei Mate 30 series Rumor Roundup: All you need to know about the upcoming flagships</strong></a></div></div>
<p>The 40W wired fast charging support for the Mi 9 Pro 5G is a massive upgrade over 27W fast charging support in the Xiaomi Mi 9 smartphone. While it&#8217;s on-par with Huawei&#8217;s fast charging technology, it lacks behind Vivo&#8217;s 44W and OPPO&#8217;s new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/17/oppo-65w-supervooc-details/">65W fast charging</a>.</p>
<p>The Mi 9 Pro 5G has already been certified by TENAA, which reveals that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/11/xiaomi-product-page-leak-mi-9-pro-mi-mix-4/">phone will come with</a> a 6.39-inch display and should come powered by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/07/15/snapdragon-855-plus-announced-higher-clockspeed-but-same-old-modem/">Snapdragon 855 Plus</a> SoC, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The smartphone is expected to come powered by a 4,000mAh battery.</p>
<p>Along with the Mi 9 Pro 5G, Xiaomi is also set to introduce its new Mi MIX 4 flagship smartphone which could feature a 100-megapixel camera sensor. The company will also be launching a new Mi TV model and its new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/miui-11">MIUI 11</a> operating system with major updates.</p>

The company has now teased a new color option for the device on Weibo called as the &#8216;Dream White&#8217;. From the teaser, this color looks close to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/08/27/redmi-note-8-pro-will-come-in-mi-a3s-beautiful-more-than-white-color/">&#8216;More Than White&#8217; color of the Xiaomi Mi A3</a> that was recently launched in India.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Xiaomi-Mi-9-Pro-5g-dream-White.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-276724" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Xiaomi-Mi-9-Pro-5g-dream-White.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5g dream White" width="690" height="920" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Xiaomi-Mi-9-Pro-5g-dream-White.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Xiaomi-Mi-9-Pro-5g-dream-White-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Xiaomi-Mi-9-Pro-5g-dream-White-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p>This teaser also confirms that the Mi 9 Pro 5G will come with triple rear cameras arranged vertically on the left side of the device. There&#8217;s the Mi branding at the back along with the 5G logo. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi&#8217;s</a> earlier teaser hints that this new model will bring powerful features apart from 5G. The company will announce two new smartphone products, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 5G, and the Mi 9 Pro 5G on September 24. Alongside the new smartphone announcements, <a href="https://gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> will also take the wraps off the <a href="https://gizmochina.com/tag/miui-11">MIUI 11</a> OS and a brand new Mi TV.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-Mix-5G-conference-september-2.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-276353" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-Mix-5G-conference-september-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Mi Mix 5G conference september 24" width="690" height="920" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-Mix-5G-conference-september-2.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-Mix-5G-conference-september-2-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mi-Mix-5G-conference-september-2-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p>It looks like the company will change the naming scheme of the new Mix series. Instead of adopting the Mix 4 name, the new model will be called the Mi Mix 5G. Xiaomi&#8217;s official teaser tags these two devices as concept phones, which isn&#8217;t surprising given that the Mix series started off as a concept lineup. As confirmed earlier, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/11/xiaomi-product-page-leak-mi-9-pro-mi-mix-4/">Mi 9 Pro 5G</a> will come with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/09/xiaomi-announces-mi-charge-turbo-30w-wireless-charging-mi-9-pro-5g/">world&#8217;s fastest wireless charging technology at 30W</a>. It&#8217;s likely that the <a href="https://gizmochina.com/tag/mi-mix-5g">Mi Mix 5G</a> also features this same tech.</p>
<h6 style="text-align: center;"><strong>⇒ Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/12/weibo-images-accidentally-leak-possible-8k-xiaomi-mi-tv/">Weibo images accidentally leak possible 8K Xiaomi Mi TV</a></strong></h6>
<p>These two <a href="https://gizmochina.com/tag/5g">5G</a> flagships will be joined by a new Mi TV model as well. Not much is known about this new TV, but it could be a premium offering <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/12/weibo-images-accidentally-leak-possible-8k-xiaomi-mi-tv/">with 8K resolution</a>. It makes sense for Xiaomi to announce a premium TV at the event because a couple of days later, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/03/oneplus-tv-amazon-india/">OnePlus will announce its premium smart TV</a> in a few select markets.</p>
