Sony India has launched the ILCE-7V, the fifth generation of its Alpha 7 full-frame mirrorless camera series. It features a newly developed partially stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor with about 33 megapixels and the updated BIONZ XR2 image processor. The processor now includes the AI unit used in the latest Alpha models, which brings improvements to autofocus, tracking, color accuracy, still image quality, and video performance.

Along with the camera, Sony has also announced the FE 28-70mm F3.5-5.6 OSS II lens. It is a compact and lightweight standard zoom designed to support the ILCE-7V during high-speed continuous shooting.

The Alpha 7 V (ILCE-7V) uses the AI processing unit to deliver faster and more accurate autofocus. Sony states that Real-time Recognition AF is up to 30 percent better and can identify subjects faster. The camera uses 759 phase-detection points that cover up to 94 percent of the frame. It maintains focus even in low light down to EV -4.0. Real-time Tracking improves subject follow accuracy during both stills and video. High-resolution RAW processing is supported through the Imaging Edge Desktop application for more control in editing.

The partially stacked sensor allows a readout speed that is about 4.5 times faster. This helps reduce distortion and supports blackout free continuous shooting at up to 30 frames per second. The system performs up to 60 AF and AE calculations per second. It can shoot 14-bit RAW images at the same speed with full AF and AE tracking. The Pre-Capture feature can record up to one second before the shutter press.

The ILCE-7V offers up to 16 stops of dynamic range to preserve detail across bright and dark areas. The new AI based Auto White Balance system identifies light sources through scene analysis and deep learning to provide more stable and natural colors.

For video creators, the camera offers 7K oversampled 4K 60p recording in full-frame mode and 4K 120p recording in APS-C or Super 35mm mode. There is full pixel readout without pixel binning for better detail. Dynamic Active Mode provides smoother handheld footage. Auto Framing uses AI to keep subjects properly framed. New noise reduction and an improved internal microphone help reduce background noise.

The camera has improved power management. A Monitor Low Bright mode helps extend battery life. Better thermal control supports longer 4K recording sessions. It is rated for about 630 shots using the viewfinder under CIPA standards.

The FE 28-70mm OSS II lens supports up to 120 frames per second AF and AE tracking. It offers coordinated image stabilization, AF during zooming, and breathing compensation when used with compatible cameras.

Both the ILCE-7V and the new lens support Sony’s Road to Zero environmental program. Production uses 100 percent renewable energy and packaging uses Sony’s Original Blended Material instead of plastic.

Pricing & availability

The ILCE-7V body will go on sale from 10 December 2025 at a price of Rs 2,55,990. The ILCE-7V M-Kit, which includes the 28–70mm OSS II lens, will arrive in February 2026 for Rs 2,70,490.

For global markets, the Alpha 7 V body is up for preorder on B&H and CVP at around USD 2,900 / EUR 2,650 / £2,330, with a new kit lens bundle also offered. Wider retail availability is expected by mid-December, and shipments have already started reaching retailers.

Canon India has launched the EOS R6 Mark III full-frame mirrorless camera and the RF45mm F1.2 STM lens. The EOS R6 Mark III succeeds the 2023 EOS R6 Mark II, bringing a 32.5-megapixel sensor, enhanced autofocus, and advanced video capabilities for professionals.

The camera supports high-resolution shooting with flexible cropping and includes a pre-continuous shooting feature that records up to 20 frames before the shutter is pressed, available in RAW, C-RAW, or HEIF formats. Autofocus improvements enhance subject tracking in complex lighting or motion scenarios, while the Register People Priority function allows pre-registered subjects to be prioritized in group shots.

The EOS R6 Mark III retains the durable body design of its predecessor with better ergonomics and button customization for vertical handheld use. It features exposure and color monitoring tools such as waveform, false colors, and zebras, along with AWB Response and Shockless WB for smoother white balance transitions. Creative options include 14 Color Filters and Slow & Fast Motion modes for flexible video workflows.

Video performance is a key focus, with support for 7K 60p internal RAW recording, 3:2 Open Gate 7K 30p RAW, and simultaneous MP4 proxy or 4K DCI Fine sub-movie recording. Recording formats include Canon Log 2, Canon Log 3, HLG, HDR PQ, and compatibility with Cinema EOS Custom Picture profiles and LUT import.

Other highlights include up to 40 fps electronic shutter shooting, 12 fps mechanical shutter, 5-axis in-body image stabilization, and Dual Pixel CMOS AF II technology. It supports the LP-E6P battery and optional BG-R20/BG-R20EP battery grip.

The RF45mm F1.2 STM lens weighs about 346g and features a bright f/1.2 aperture, PMo aspherical elements, STM motor, and magnetic detection for accurate autofocus. It offers edge-to-edge sharpness at f/8 and delivers a natural 45mm perspective on full-frame or a 72mm equivalent on APS-C cameras.

Fujifilm has introduced the X-T30 III, the newest model in its X Series of mirrorless cameras. The series is known for combining compact, lightweight bodies with high image quality through Fujifilm’s color reproduction technology. The X-T30 III keeps the same classic center viewfinder design and 378g weight as the previous X-T30 II but adds major performance upgrades.

It features a 26.1MP back-illuminated X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and the new X-Processor 5 engine, which delivers about twice the processing speed of the earlier model. The camera offers better power efficiency, supporting up to 425 frames per charge in Economy Mode. The latest subject detection autofocus can recognize and track people, animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, airplanes, trains, insects, and drones. This helps users focus on timing and composition rather than manual adjustments.

The X-T30 III records video internally at 6.2K/30P in 4:2:2 10-bit, along with 4K/60P and 1080/240P options for high frame rate recording. It includes electronic image stabilization that reduces both small shakes and larger motion, useful for shooting while walking.

A new Film Simulation dial is added on the top panel, similar to what’s seen in the X-T50 and X-M5. Users can switch between 20 Film Simulation modes, including “REALA ACE” for natural color and “NOSTALGIC Neg.” for soft tones. The dial also lets users register up to three personal “FS recipes” under FS1 to FS3 for quick access.

The camera retains familiar features such as the pop-up flash and AUTO mode lever for simple operation. It includes a 1.62-million-dot tilting touchscreen LCD for flexible angles and a comfortable grip for steady handling. The X-T30 III can connect wirelessly to Fujifilm’s Link series printers and supports instax mini, SQUARE, and WIDE prints directly.

Nikon has released a new silver version of its full-frame FX-format mirrorless camera, the Nikon Z f. The launch follows requests from users who wanted a model that matched the look of Nikon’s classic film cameras while keeping the performance of a modern full-frame system.

The silver finish is designed to resemble the chrome plating used on film-era cameras like the Nikon F. The texture gives the camera a metal-like appearance, highlighting its heritage design. Nikon has also expanded customization options with three new Premium Exterior colors: Cognac Brown with an embossed texture, Teal Blue, and Mauve Pink. These additions give users more ways to personalize the look of their camera.

Alongside the new design, Nikon will add a Film Grain feature through a future firmware update. This feature lets users apply grain to photos and videos with three grain size options and six strength levels. It can also be combined with Imaging Recipes, which are downloadable presets created by Nikon and collaborating photographers, as well as with existing Picture Controls. This allows for a film-like style that can be adjusted to match different creative needs.

The Z f has been popular since its release for blending a vintage-inspired design with full-frame performance. The silver version and expanded exterior colors aim to add more visual variety while keeping the same imaging capabilities.

Nikon says it will continue to focus on advancing optical performance while adding features that respond to user demand. The company sees the Z f as a camera that not only delivers technical quality but also supports creative expression in both photography and video.

Panasonic has added two new full-frame cameras to its LUMIX S Series: the LUMIX S1II and S1IIE. Alongside the cameras, it has also introduced a new standard zoom lens, the LUMIX S 24–60mm F2.8. All three products will be available from late June at official retail partners.

LUMIX S1II: New Sensor, High-Speed Video, and Wide Dynamic Range

The LUMIX S1II features a 24.1MP full-frame partially stacked CMOS sensor combined with the latest Venus Engine. This setup enables fast data processing and supports video formats like 4K 120p, 5.8K 60p, and 5.1K 60p. It also delivers up to 15 stops of dynamic range in V-Log at frame rates below 30p.

For still photography, the camera offers burst shooting at up to 70 frames per second using SH and SH PRE modes. It also supports 10 fps with a mechanical shutter in High-Speed Plus mode. The Open Gate function adds more flexibility, now including 5.1K 60p.

LUMIX S1IIE: Same Build, New Sensor, Cinemascope Format

The LUMIX S1IIE uses a 24.2MP sensor based on the one in the LUMIX S5II. It supports 6K 30p in 3:2 Open Gate format and records 14+ stops of dynamic range in V-Log. It introduces a new 2.4:1 Cinemascope format that records up to 60p with no crop. It keeps the same ergonomic design and layout as the S1II and S1RII.

Shared Features: Autofocus, Stabilization, and Workflow Tools

Both cameras feature Phase Hybrid autofocus with improved subject tracking and face, eye, and body detection. A new Urban Sports mode improves tracking for fast movements like skateboarding or breakdancing. In-body image stabilization offers up to 8 stops of correction and includes cropless video stabilization. Both support internal ProRes RAW HQ and Apple ProRes recording on CFexpress Type B cards. ARRI LogC3 is available with a software upgrade.

They also come with a 5.76 million-dot EVF, a 1.84 million-dot tilt and free-angle touchscreen, dual card slots (SD and CFexpress Type B), and are rated to work at temperatures down to -10°C. Software support includes Capture One, Frame.io, LUMIX Lab, and LUMIX Flow for editing and project management. Future updates will add HEIF format support, waveform monitor, vectorscope, wireless mirroring, and other tools.

LUMIX S 24–60mm F2.8 Lens: Bright, Lightweight, and Video-Ready

The new LUMIX S 24–60mm F2.8 lens offers a constant wide aperture across its zoom range. It is compact and lightweight, weighing only 544 grams. The lens supports a minimum focusing distance of 19 cm and a maximum magnification of 0.3x, making it suitable for both close-ups and portraits.

It features a Dual Phase Linear Motor and a new optical encoder for fast and accurate autofocus. It also includes a focus button on the lens barrel and, for the first time in the S series, lets users reassign the focus ring to control aperture or exposure compensation.

For video, it reduces focus breathing and enables smooth aperture transitions with micro-step control. Manual focus adjustments while zooming are also supported.

All three products will be available starting late June.

We had reported a couple of times earlier that Yi Technology was all set to release a brand new camera today. As expected, the company has officially released the Yi M1 Mirrorless camera at an event a couple of hours back. This will be the company’s latest powerful camera and comes with pretty powerful features.

The Yi M1 comes with a relatively simple design with two color options, silver and black. You get a 3-inch screen at the back and four buttons on the device which controls all the function. It is said that using the camera is easy, with an interface similar to a mobile phone camera.

As for the internals, the Yi M1 comes with M4/3 Mirrorless setup with Sony IMX269 sensor with 20.16MP. The camera features a mechanical shutter, super fast continuous shooting, RAW support, 4K Video shooting and ISO upto 25600.

Along with the M1 camera, Yi Technology also announced two lenses for the device. One is a 12-40mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom lens and the second one is a 42.5mm fixed focus lens with f/1.8 aperture.

The company also released a backpack for its M1 camera, priced at 399 Yuan along with accessories like UV filters, charger, straps etc.

The Yi M1 Mirrorless camera with standard zoom lens is priced at 2199 Yuan ($330), while the camera with the dual lens kit is priced at 2999 Yuan ($450). The camera and lenses will go on sale from September 23 at JD.com.
