<p>The HyperOS 3.1 update, based on Android 16, introduces a wealth of system-level optimizations and UI refinements, further improving the user experience and productivity. Xiaomi has rewritten several core system applications to achieve highly efficient resource usage, resulting in noticeable snappier performance.</p>

<p>The latest HyperOS software brings HyperIsland to tablets for the first time, while other devices receive an upgraded HyperIsland experience that now supports richer animations, deeper third-party integration, and more intuitive real-time activity tracking.</p>

<p>The recent apps page gets an iOS-inspired look with smoother gesture navigation, fluid card swiping, and better visual management. The update also introduces the Super OTA feature that applies system updates faster with minimal reboot time and fewer errors.</p>

<p>HyperOS 3.1 further bridges the cross-platform connectivity with Apple devices by adding native support for Apple AirPods. This enables features like quick pop-up pairing and access to spatial audio on compatible earbuds.</p>

<p>POCO is yet to reveal the launch date of the POCO Pad in India. It is confirmed to be available exclusively from Flipkart. The brand is teasing the upcoming offering as limitless entertainment. The device is seen with thin bezels around the display. We can expect to learn about the official launch date in the coming days. </p>

<p>The POCO Pad debuted in the global markets in May this year. It remains to be seen if the Indian variant will have different specifications. Additionally, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/07/29/redmi-pad-pro-launch-india/">Redmi Pad Pro</a> was also announced in the country last week which is the same as the POCO Pad. Hence, it will be interesting to see how POCO positions its first-ever tablet in India. </p>

<p>The POCO Pad features a 12.1-inch LCD display bearing a 2.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 600 nits peak brightness. It also supports Dolby Vision. There are quad-speakers with Dolby Atmos. The tablet sports a metal body and two rings on the back panel that houses a single 8MP sensor. Under the hood, the POCO Pad is equipped with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It is backed by a 10,000mAh battery unit with support for 33W fast charging. The device runs on HyperOS-based Android 14 out of the box. The POCO Pad is also compatible with a stylus pen and a keyboard. </p>

<p>The centerpiece of the Poco Pad is its 12.1-inch 120Hz LCD display with a 2.5K resolution and support for 68 billion colors. For a comfortable viewing experience, the display offers a peak brightness of 600 nits and DC dimming for flicker-free visuals at lower brightness levels.</p>

<p>The aspect ratio is 16:10, which caters to both entertainment consumption and productivity tasks. Entertainment features include quad speakers with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision support for enhanced video streaming.</p>

<p>Design-wise, the Poco Pad boasts a sleek metal unibody design, measuring just 7.52mm thin and weighing 571g. It comes in two color options: Gray and Blue.</p>

<p>Battery life is another highlight of the tablet, with Poco claiming the 10,000mAh battery can last up to 16 hours of continuous video playback.&nbsp; It supports 33W fast charging and Poco claims that a 15-minute charge can provide enough juice for 26 hours of music playback.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="400" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Poco-Pad-Performance.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-627250" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Poco-Pad-Performance.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Poco-Pad-Performance-300x133.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Poco-Pad-Performance-768x341.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Poco-Pad-Performance-696x309.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>On the processing side, the Poco Pad is equipped with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM. Storage comes in at 256GB, expandable via a microSD card slot that supports cards up to a massive 1.5TB.</p>

<p>The software is Xiaomi&#8217;s HyperOS, which offers some integration features with compatible HyperOS phones. Users can cast their phone screen to the tablet, drag and drop content between devices, and share a clipboard. You can also tether a phone just via a single tap.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/poco">Poco</a> Pad, which will be Poco’s tablet, will on May 23 in Dubai. The tablet will be announced for the global along with the Poco F6 and F6 Pro. Previously, the Poco Pad has been spotted with model number 2405CPCFBG at certification platforms, such as SDPPI Indonesia), TDRA (UAE), IMDA (Singapore), and EEC (Europe). Here is a look at what to expect from the company’s first-ever tablet.</p>

<h3><strong>Poco Pad: here’s what to expect</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="720" height="900" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Poco-Pad-launch-date.jpg?x44794" alt="Poco Pad launch date" class="wp-image-626359" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Poco-Pad-launch-date.jpg 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Poco-Pad-launch-date-240x300.jpg 240w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Poco-Pad-launch-date-696x870.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Poco-Pad-launch-date-336x420.jpg 336w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></figure></div>

<p>According to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/14/poco-pad-tablet-specifications-expected/">reports</a>, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-poco-pad/">Poco Pad</a> will be a rebranded version of the Redmi Pad Pro, which recently debuted in China. Hence, the tablet is expected to feature a 12.1-inch IPS LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 600 nits of brightness. The tablet may have an aluminium back panel and frame. A layer of Gorilla Glass 3 will protect its front.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Redmi-Pad-Pro-leak-1-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi Pad Pro" class="wp-image-617056" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Redmi-Pad-Pro-leak-1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Redmi-Pad-Pro-leak-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Redmi-Pad-Pro-leak-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Redmi-Pad-Pro-leak-1-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Redmi-Pad-Pro-leak-1-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Redmi-Pad-Pro-leak-1-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Redmi-Pad-Pro-leak-1.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Redmi Pad Pro</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The Poco Pad may feature the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-7s-gen-2">Snapdragon 7s Gen 2</a> chipset. It may arrive with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. For more storage, it may feature a microSD card slot. The tablet may pack <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/09/redmi-pad-pro-specifications-leak/">a 10,000mAh battery</a> with 33W fast charging support. It may run on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/23/poco-pad-spotted-fcc-camera-fv-5/">HyperOS-based Android 14</a>. For audiophiles, the tablet may feature four speakers.</p>

<p>It may feature an 8-megapixel front camera and an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. The device is unlikely to support cellular connectivity, which means that it could be a Wi-Fi-only device. The tablet may come with support for stylus and an optional keyboard. At present, there is no information about the price of the device.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/xiaomi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi</a> sub-brand<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/poco/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Poco </a>is gearing up for a major launch event on May 23rd. While they&#8217;ve already confirmed the release of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/poco-f6/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Poco F6 </a>and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/poco-f6-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Poco F6 Pro</a> smartphones, they&#8217;ve also dropped a teaser for their first tablet, the Poco Pad, on their official <a href="https://event.po.co/global/poco-f6-series-launch-2024" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">website</a>.  </p>

<p>Surprisingly though, the company hasn&#8217;t said much about it on its social media handles. But we now have official confirmation that Poco is indeed entering the tablet market with the Poco Pad. It&#8217;s set to launch alongside the F6 phones on May 23rd.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="488" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Poco-Pad-Launch-teased.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-626238" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Poco-Pad-Launch-teased.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Poco-Pad-Launch-teased-300x163.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Poco-Pad-Launch-teased-768x416.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Poco-Pad-Launch-teased-696x377.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Poco-Pad-Launch-teased-775x420.jpg 775w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>Details about the Poco Pad remain scarce at the moment. But previous rumors suggest that it will be a rebranded version of the recently announced Redmi Pad Pro.&nbsp;</p>

<p>That means users can expect a 12.1-inch IPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the device is likely to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset.</p>

<p>Camera specifications are also expected to mirror the Redmi Pad Pro, with an 8MP sensor on the back and another 8MP sensor on the front for selfies and video calls. </p>

<p>The Poco Pad might also support a stylus and a keyboard case, as hinted in a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/25/poco-pad-imda-certification-stylus-keyboard/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">report last month</a>. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Redmi-Pad-Pro-leak-1-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="" /><figcaption>Redmi Pad Pro</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Audio is likely to be handled by a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos for an immersive experience. Keeping the lights on will be a large 10,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.</p>

<p>In related news, the Redmi Pad Pro has appeared in the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/13/redmi-pad-pro-5g-indian-global-models-surface/4">Google Play Console</a>, which indicates its global release is close at hand. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/13/redmi-pad-pro-5g-indian-global-models-surface/">Another report claims</a> that the Redmi Pad Pro’s 5G version, bearing the 24074RPD2G (global) / 24074RPD2I (Indian) / 24074RPD2C (China) and “ruan” codename, is also in the works. It will have the same specs as the Wi-Fi-only version but will also offer 5G connectivity.</p>

<p>Xiaomi&#8217;s sub-brand <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/poco" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">POCO</a> is reportedly making its debut in the tablet market with its first device. The device recently appeared on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/03/16/poco-looks-to-expand-product-line-with-its-first-tablet/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">European EEC certification platform </a>under the product name &#8220;Tablet brand POCO model,&#8221; clearly indicating that it&#8217;s a tablet.</p>

<p>Additionally, it seems that POCO is also working on accessories for the tablet. A stylus under the POCO brand surfaced on the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/04/poco-tablet-stylus-fcc-certification/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> FCC database</a> earlier this month with the model number 2407CMPBCG.</p>

<p>Now, the same stylus model number has appeared alongside a keyboard bearing the model number 24071KB3FG on the IMDA listing. So the tablet may come with these accessories available as optional purchases.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="502" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Poco-tablet-Stylus-and-keyboard-certification.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-621083" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Poco-tablet-Stylus-and-keyboard-certification.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Poco-tablet-Stylus-and-keyboard-certification-300x167.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Poco-tablet-Stylus-and-keyboard-certification-768x428.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Poco-tablet-Stylus-and-keyboard-certification-696x388.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Poco-tablet-Stylus-and-keyboard-certification-753x420.jpg 753w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>However, the listing doesn&#8217;t provide any further details about the POCO tablet or its accompanying accessories. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/23/poco-pad-spotted-fcc-camera-fv-5/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Previous reports</a> suggest that the POCO tablet, allegedly called POCO Pad, could be a rebranded version of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/redmi-pad-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Redmi Pad Pro</a>.</p>

<p>According to these reports, the tablet is expected to feature a 12.1-inch IPS LCD screen with a 2.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage. Additionally, it will house a 10,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Redmi-Pad-Pro-leak-1-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="" /></figure></div>

<p>For the camera setup, it may include an 8-megapixel front camera and an 8-megapixel rear camera. Other expected features include the Android 14 OS, a 3.5mm audio jack, and quad speakers.</p>

<p>While the exact launch date and pricing details are still unknown, the fact that the device and its accessories have been through multiple certifications indicates that we can expect its launch in the next couple of months.</p>

<p>We already know <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/poco/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">POCO </a>is working on its first ever tablet model. But ahead of any official announcement, this tablet was spotted on major certifications, which revealed some of its key specs. The device could be dubbed the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-poco-pad/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">POCO Pad</a>, so here are all the details.</p>

<h2>POCO Pad visits FCC &amp; Camera FV-5</h2>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/POCO-Pad-Camera-FV-5-2.webp?x44794" alt="POCO Pad" class="wp-image-620618" width="476" height="579" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/POCO-Pad-Camera-FV-5-2.webp 622w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/POCO-Pad-Camera-FV-5-2-246x300.webp 246w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/POCO-Pad-Camera-FV-5-2-345x420.webp 345w" sizes="(max-width: 476px) 100vw, 476px" /></figure></div>

<p>POCO Pad is the Chinese brand&#8217;s first tablet and it was spotted on FCC carrying the 2405CPCFBG model number. This listing confirms that it will run on HyperOS 1.0 and WiFi 6. The database confirmed that it will ship with Xiaomi&#8217;s 33W charging adapter. Unfortunately, this was all the information revealed by this listing. On the other hand, the Camera FV-5 sighting reveals more details regarding its cameras.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="500" height="500" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Xiaomi-Poco-Pad.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Poco Pad" class="wp-image-619331" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Xiaomi-Poco-Pad.jpg 500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Xiaomi-Poco-Pad-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Xiaomi-Poco-Pad-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Xiaomi-Poco-Pad-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></figure></div>

<p>The POCO Pad may feature an 8-megapixel camera on the rear that offers EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) and an f/2.0 aperture. Meanwhile, the front packs another 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.3 aperture. To recall, the POCO Pad is expected to be a rebranded Redmi Pad Pro. That tablet model also came with 33W wired fast charging and HyperOS custom skin. This device also comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC that is paired with 8GB of RAM.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/POCO-Pad-Camera-FV-5-1.webp?x44794" alt="POCO Pad" class="wp-image-620617" width="500" height="424" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/POCO-Pad-Camera-FV-5-1.webp 856w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/POCO-Pad-Camera-FV-5-1-300x254.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/POCO-Pad-Camera-FV-5-1-768x651.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/POCO-Pad-Camera-FV-5-1-696x590.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/POCO-Pad-Camera-FV-5-1-495x420.webp 495w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></figure></div>

<p>One of its notable aspects is the quad speaker setup, which arrives with Dolby Atmos audio. A massive 10,000mAh battery pack powers this tablet as well. It sports a tall 12.1-inch LCD panel that offers a 120Hz refresh rate, 2.5K resolution, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. </p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/poco">Poco</a> fans are eagerly waiting for the arrival of the Poco F6 series of smartphones. Speculation suggests that the Poco F6 and F6 Pro will make their debut in various markets in May. The other major announcement from the brand is it first-ever tablet. Recently, a Poco tablet bearing the model number 2405CPCFBG was <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/08/redmi-pad-pro-3c-launch-as-poco-globally/">approved by Europe’s EEC</a> certification platform. A recent X post (formerly Twitter) by tipster Kacper Skrzypek reveals that the tablet could be called the Poco Pad when it arrives on the market.</p>

<p>Redmi recently <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/10/redmi-pad-pro-launched-in-china/">launched the Redmi Pad Pro tablet</a> along with the Redmi Turbo 3 phone in China. Equipped with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip, the Pad Pro is the most powerful Redmi-branded tablet.</p>

<p>According to Skrzypek’s X <a href="https://twitter.com/kacskrz/status/1778053270063255839">post</a>, the Redmi Pad Pro bearing the 2405CRPFDG model number and “dizi” codename will be released in the global market. Like the Chinese variant, the global version of the tablet will only support Wi-Fi connectivity, meaning it will not offer cellular connectivity.</p>

<h2><strong>Poco Pad specifications (expected)</strong></h2>

<p>The tipster further revealed that the Poco tablet bearing the model number 2405CPCFBG will debut in the global market as the Poco Pad. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/poco-pad">Poco Pad</a>, which could be a rebranded Redmi Pad Pro, will have the same specifications. The tablet is expected to arrive with a 12.1-inch IPS LCD screen that offers a 2.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 2-powered tablet may come with up to 8 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB of storage, and a 10,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. On the front, it may feature an 8-megapixel camera, and its s back panel may also feature an 8-megapixel camera. The tablet may also offer Android 14 OS, a 3.5mm audio jack, and quad speakers.</p>
