That rumour is gathering traction as an LG model listed as Q92 has appeared on Google Play Console (via Gadgets Rewind). As usual, the Google Play Console listing includes a front render of the device. The render reveals the presence of a centrally placed single punch-hole which will house the selfie camera.

As per the listed details, the LG Q92 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 chipset. The mobile platform is a fast mid-range ARM-based SoC. It is one of the first chipsets that integrate a 5G modem- the Snapdragon X5. The modem brings support for speeds of up to 3.7 / 1.6 Mbps (down- and upload) and mmWave and Sub-6. The processor also features the Adreno 620 GPU. The SoC will be paired with 6GB of RAM but we can’t say if that will be the base model.

The smartphone’s display will have an FHD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels but the screen size is still unknown. Further, the Q92 will boot Android 10 OS out of the box.

LG is yet to officially release any details of the upcoming model. However, the Q92 5G is believed to be a cheaper alternative to the well-received LG Velvet 5G. If that be the case, we may likely see the smartphone launched soon.

Soon after sharing the renders, the tipster revealed that there could be another device called Moto G 5G Plus. Blass also shared the specs sheet of the Moto G 5G. An external storage slot will be available on the phone. It will arrive with Android 10 OS preinstalled. The rear side of the smartphone has a quad-camera setup housed inside a square-shaped module. It comprises of a Samsung GM1 48-megapixel sensor, a 16-megapixel macro lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. The Moto G 5G has other features like a side-facing fingerprint reader, a dedicated hardware button for Google Assistant, and a 4,800mAh battery.

It is now being said that the XT2075-3 phone that was recently certified by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the U.S. could be the Moto G 5G. XDA stated that by running IMEI numbers that it came across in the FCC listing through an IMEI database revealed the “Moto G 5G Plus” moniker.

Previous reports revealed that a variant with model number XT2075-1 also exists. This variant could be heading to the U.S. through Verizon with Motorola Edge Lite moniker. Other markets like Europe, LATAM, the Middle East, and Japan may receive it as Moto G 5G or Moto G 5G Plus. There is a possibility that the Moto G 5G and Moto G5 Plus could be two different handsets.

And it seems that COVID-19 has not affected the company’s plan and everything seems to be on schedule.

As per the new reports, the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has officially entered the production stage. It is based on the 5nm process and also includes the Snapdragon X60 5G baseband.

Compared to last month, the product capacity of the 5nm chips at the Nanke 18 factory has been increased by 10 percent to nearly 60,000 units in one month. As per the industry estimates, Qualcomm is investing 6,000 to 10,000 5nm wafers per month in TSMC.

Some estimates indicate that the Snapdragon 875 chipset could be delivered to Qualcomm somewhere around September. However, it remains to be seen when the company starts giving them to smartphone makers.

TSMC had previously started mass production of Apple A14 chipset which is also based on the 5nm process. The company will be using this new chipset to power the upcoming iPhone 12 series which also features 5G support.

On the other hand, Samsung is expected to start mass production of Exynos 992 5nm chipset from August this year. Recently, ZTE also confirmed that the company will be launching its 5nm chip next year and that its 7nm chip is in production.

On Friday, the Carl Pei who is one of the co-founders of OnePlus reposted OnePlus One’s announcement tweet from 2014 along with text that read, “It’s been a while…” The handset had launched with an impressive price tag of $299. Probably, the tweet could be hinting the price of the OnePlus Z (or OnePlus Nord) mid-range 5G phone that is expected to debut next month.

It's been a while… https://t.co/O61EoIa3Gc

The OnePlus One came with a price tag of $299 for its 16 GB storage version. The higher 64 GB model came with a pricing of $349. Recently, the specifications of the upcoming mid-ranger from the company were spotted in a survey site in India. The listing didn’t confirm the name of the device. However, its details matched with the rumored specs of the OnePlus Z. The listing stated that the phone is priced at Rs. 24,990 (~$328).

Hence, there is a possibility that the OnePlus Nord could be priced around $299 to $349 or under $399. If it arrives with a similar pricing, it could be a good rival for the iPhone SE 2020 that is available for $399 in the market.

OnePlus Z (OnePlus Nord) specifications

The OnePlus Z survey listing revealed that it will have a 6.55-inch S-AMOLED display that offers Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 765 is said to power the device with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.

It may come with a 16-megapixel front camera and a 64-megapixel + 16-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera setup on its rear. The handset may house a 4,300mAh battery with 30W fast charging support.

It is still unclear whether the handset will debut as OnePlus Z or OnePlus Nord. Rumors have it that it may debut on July 10 in India.

The device is expected to go official around September this year. A recent leak had revealed the key specs of the device that is being dubbed as Motorola RAZR 2 by the rumor mill. The specs leak did not carry any information on its display. Fresh information shared by Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) CEO Ross Young reveals that the RAZR 2’s outer and inner screens will be larger than the predecessor model.

The Motorola RAZR has a 6.2-inch P-OLED foldable display that offers a 21:9 aspect ratio and it has a 2.7-inch external display for viewing notifications. Young said that the RAZR 2 will come with a larger inner display of 6.7 inches. Without revealing the exact details, he also mentioned that RAZR 2’s inner display will also increase in size.

The original RAZR did not support 5G connectivity. The successor model is expected to come with a 5G-ready Snapdragon 765 mobile platform. It’s a good upgrade since the original RAZR came with the older Snapdragon 710 SoC. The device may house a larger battery of 2,845mah capacity.

The RAZR 2 is expected to come with 8 GB of RAM and a built-in storage of 256 GB. It is likely to come with a front camera of 20-megapixel and its rear could be featuring the 48-megapixel GM1 sensor from Samsung.

The device will come preloaded with Android 10 OS. It is being built for users in China and North America.

Now, key specs of the Motorola RAZR 2 (not official name) have leaked and they show Motorola will still be playing catch-up with Samsung’s own phone.

XDA-Developers reports that an unnamed source has revealed some key details about the 2nd-gen Motorola RAZR. According to their source, the phone will go by the codename “smith” and will have the model number “XT2071-4”.

Last year’s Motorola RAZR packs a Snapdragon 710 processor. The 2-year old chip has appeared in several devices but none with a price tag of $1499 as that of the RAZR. For its successor, Motorola is once again not going with a flagship processor but the Snapdragon 765 (not Snapdragon 765G).

The Snapdragon 765 is a 5G processor found in mid-range and upper mid-range devices. It is a more powerful processor than the Snapdragon 710 and it will be paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. While it has a 5G modem built-in, it still can’t beat the Snapdragon 855+ inside the Galaxy Z Flip.

The source says the processor will draw power from a 2845mAh battery which is a boost in capacity when compared to the 2510mAh capacity of the Motorola RAZR (2019). However, this is still smaller than the 3300mAh battery inside Samsung’s own foldable phone.

EDITOR’S PICK: Rumor: Huawei will launch an affordable foldable phone this year

The displays on both sides are said to be unchanged (for now) with respect to sizes but Motorola may adopt new technologies such as the use of UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) for the main screen.

With respect to cameras, the Motorola RAZR 2 will have a 48MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor. Sorry, just a single camera again. The selfie camera has also been upgraded from 5MP to 20MP.

The phone will run Android 10 out of the box with Motorola’s own software additions. The Motorola RAZR 2 will launch in China and North America but should also launch in other markets such as India and Europe. Of course, it will have 5G support but XDA-Developers are skeptical it will support mmWave 5G networks due to the size of the antennas which take up space in devices.

There is a chance that the above specs may change before the launch of the phone which is expected to launch in September according to a Motorola executive. Nevertheless, Samsung seems to have the vertically-folding phone category under its belt as its phone offers better specs and a cheaper price tag.

The company is expected to launch the Galaxy A51 5G and Galaxy A71 5G smartphones in the U.S. Fresh information shared by XDA Developers reveals that the U.S. edition of the Galaxy A71 5G will be driven by Snapdragon 765 SoC.

The Verizon variant of the Galaxy A71 5G has surfaced on the database of the Bluetooth SIG platform. The model number of the device is SM-A716V. The publication revealed after investigating the publicly available database for upcoming devices with online services from Verizon, it could come across “Samsung_a71xq” text. Here, “x” refers to a 5G device and “q” means it is fueled by a Snapdragon chipset.

The Geekbench listing of the U.S. variant of the Galaxy A71 5G has revealed that it is powered by a Qualcomm SoC that has a base frequency of 1.80GHz. Since Qualcomm offers Snapdragon 765 and 765G as the 5G chipset for powering mid-range phones, there is a possibility that the Galaxy A71 5G for the U.S. may include any of the two chipsets. The Verizon variant of the Galaxy A71 5G may come with mmWave support, while the non-Verizon models may lack it.

The publication has claimed that the Verizon and non-Verizon variants of the Galaxy A71 5G may break cover in the U.S. in June or July. The rest of the specs of the A71 5G for the U.S. could be the same as its 5G variant available in other countries.

After its launch, the focus will shift to the Google Pixel 5 series arriving later this year. The Google Pixel line of smartphones was introduced in 2017. All the predecessor Pixel phones have featured flagship chipsets from Qualcomm. Some reports have revealed that the search engine giant will adopt a different strategy for the Pixel 5 series. Rumors have it that they will not be coming as flagship smartphones. XDA has reported that it has found evidences in the EUICCGoogle APK available in Android 11 Developer Preview 4 that Pixel 5 will be powered by Snapdragon 765 or Snapdragon 768 SoC.

In January, it was found that upcoming Pixel phones are codenamed as Sunfish, Bramble, and Redfin. The Sunfish phone is said to be the upcoming Snapdragon 730 powered Pixel 4a phone. The Bramble and Redfin are codenames of flagship Pixel phones arrive later this year. These phones are expected to break cover as Pixel 5 and Pixel 5 XL. Initial code discovered at the beginning of the year revealed that the Snapdragon 765 SOC will be powering both smartphones.

Recently, a screenshot of the survey on Google Opinion Rewards was shared by Reddit user. The survey asked users to choose between an upcoming mid-range Pixel priced at $349 and a premium Pixel smartphone priced at $699. The $349 phone seems to be Pixel 4a whereas the $699 priced device could be the Pixel 5. This pricing is $100 cheaper the pricing of predecessor Pixel 4 and Pixel 3 phones that came with flagship processors. The reduced pricing for Pixel 5 is another hint that it will not feature the Snapdragon 865 flagship chipset.

A fresh leak has revealed that OnePlus has decided to go with a Qualcomm processor for its upcoming OnePlus Z smartphone and not a MediaTek processor as earlier reports have said.

The info was revealed by Max J. (@MaxJmb), the same leaker that reconfirmed that the OnePlus Z will launch in July. According to a tweet he shared today, the OnePlus Z is powered by a Snapdragon 765 processor with support for 5G.

pic.twitter.com/3pOxPgddM8

Earlier leaks had said the OnePlus Z will have MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000/1000L processor under the hood but that seems to have changed. Could it have been that the info was incorrect? Maybe, maybe not.

It is possible that OnePlus originally decided to use one of MediaTek’s new 5G processors but changed its mind. Since the launch is still two months away, there is still enough time for such a major change to happen as long as mass production is yet to commence. However, the reason for changing from MediaTek to Qualcomm can be for a myriad of reasons.

Did Qualcomm offer OnePlus a better deal on the price of its Snapdragon 765 chipset? Did OnePlus, itself, decide to switch to a Snapdragon processor for reasons unknown to us? Is the Dimensity 1000 towing the same line as the ill-fated Helio X30 from a few years ago? We can come up with a lot more questions.

The Snapdragon 765 is a powerful mid-range processor but it still doesn’t match the Dimensity 1000L in terms of performance talk less of the Dimensity 1000. Nevertheless, we are sure there are lots of folks out there that are happy at the news that the OnePlus Z has a Snapdragon processor. Are you one of them? Let us know in the comment box.

These chipsets are capable of offering 5G connectivity to smartphones at the higher-end as well as those in the mid-tier. Just within a quarter, consumers now have various devices that are powered by the above-mentioned chips.

Recent reports have revealed that the Lenovo-owned company is also working on Snapdragon 765 and Snapdragon 865 driven high-end phones. A fresh report on XDA Developers states that it has received live shots of two new Motorola phones along with specs and features. It claims that they are dubbed as “Motorola One 2020” in marketing materials. It is speculated that one of these Motorola One 2020 phone could be also coming to some markets as Motorola Edge+

The report states that the Snapdragon 865 powered flagship phone in the Motorola One 2020 series is codenamed as “burton” and it is also being referred to as “race turbo” internally. On the other side, the Snapdragon 765 or 765G driven phone is codenamed as “racer 5G” or “racer.”

The Racer 5G is expected to debut as Motorola One 5G 2020 and as the name suggests it carries support for 5G connectivity. The Burton device is just called Motorola One 2020 and does not have 5G mentioned in its name. However, being a flagship phone, it will carry support for 5G connectivity. The Motorola One 2020 will be exclusively available through Verizon in the U.S. Some markets in the U.S. may receive its non-5G edition. Also, there is a possibility that this device could be called Motorola Edge+ in the U.S. Both devices have similar specs and one of the main attractions about them is that they are equipped with 6.67-inch curved displays that offer 90hz refresh rate.

This year too, the Finnish firm will be unwrapping its new phones at the upcoming MWC 2020 event. A fresh leak courtesy of Nokiamob.net has revealed some of the names of the devices that may get announced at MWC. It has mentioned names like Nokia 1.3, Nokia 5.2 and Nokia 8.2 5G. The report claims that the monikers of these devices are not final. The Finland-based firm is also poised to unleash a new series of Nokia phones at MWC 2020.

Nokia 8.2 5G specifications and price (Rumored)

Citing information from a known source, the publication has revealed that the 4G edition of the Nokia 8.2 has been cancelled. The specs leak of the Nokia 8.2 5G suggests that it could be the Snapdragon 765 driven 5G phone will be announced at MWC 2020.

The leak states that the design of the rear camera setup of the Nokia 8.2 5G could be similar to the Nokia 7.2 phone from 2019. A leak from October 2019 had claimed that the phone will be sporting a round-shaped camera setup with four cameras with a 64-megapixel mains lens. The handset is expected to house a 32-megapixel pop-up selfie shooter. The phone could be coming with a pOLED or LCD screen and a side-mounted fingerprint reader that won’t come with breathing light notification feature. A previous leak had claimed that it could be coming with a curved display. However, the new report claims that it has been found to be incorrect.

The Nokia 8.2 5G could be housing a 3,500mAh battery. The phone could be coming with fast charging support, but the leak has not revealed details on its presence. The handset is likely to lack support for wireless charging. The device will come equipped with a 3.5mm audio jack.

The starting variant of the Nokia 8.2 5G could be featuring 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB storage. There could be a limited edition of the phone with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB of storage. The base model of the Nokia 8.2 5G may carry a price tag of 459 euros (~$506).

New original series phone coming at MWC 2020

The report further states that Nokia was expected to announce a new original series device around the Spring Festival of China. However, due to the ongoing situation of Coronavirus, the company has reportedly pushed its launch to MWC 2020. Unfortunately, there is no word on the design, name and specs of the new original series phone.

The original series phone could be referring to a revised version of the one of the yesteryear feature phone.

Hence, it appears that there could be multiple products from POCO in 2020. On Jan. 17, RevAtlas shared live shots of a smartphone called Poco F2 Lite through its YouTube channel. The images and key specs of the phone were revealed to it through an email by a someone whose identity was not revealed. He revealed that Poco will be launching three smartphones this year.

RevAtlas stated that it received three images of the phone. One of the shots reveals the Poco F2 Lite moniker. Its images show that the handset features a waterdrop notch display with a thick-sized chin. The handset is running on a MIUI version design for the Poco brand. It appears to be running on Android 10 OS.

The YouTuber claims that there is confirmation on whether the leak is genuine or fake. Apart from the Poco F2 Lite, there is no confirmation on the names of other two Poco devices that will be unveiled this year. The email that carried the images stated that “millet model bring price cheaper than before” text which suggest that its pricing could be cheaper than the Poco F1 that had landed in India with a starting price of Rs. 20,999 in 2018.

If the Poco F2 Lite exists, it is likely that the Poco F2 with flagship specs could be also coming. As it is known, the Chinese firm had recently trademarked the Poco F2 moniker in the country in the recent past.

In related news, a phone named Poco X2 had popped on Geekbench last week. It is believed that it could be a rebranded version of the Redmi K30 for India. It remains to be seen whether the Poco X2 really exists. Readers are advisable to wait for further reports to know more on the upcoming Poco smartphones.

The search engine giant is expected to debut with Google Pixel 4a and Pixel 4a XL with weaker specs than the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL along with affordable price tags this year. A previous report had claimed that the Pixel 4a XL does not exist, but a report from 9to5Google had revealed that it exists. XDA Developers received a tip on the codenames of Pixel devices for 2020. Scouring through the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) of Pixel 4’s firmware and newest version of Google apps revealed 3 codenames such as sunfish, redfin and bramble of new smartphones along with their respective processors. These codenames seem to belong to the upcoming Pixel 4a and Pixel 4a XL 5G.

Google Pixel 4a – Sunfish codename

The sunfish codename found in the AOSP repository is based on sm7150 which is the codename of the Snapdragon 730 mobile platform. It is the same processor that powers smartphones such as Redmi K30 and Realme X2. The publication has claimed that Sunfish has Android 10 and Android 11 based two development branches. The same codename along with the codenames of other Pixel devices was seen in a string in the Google app. This device is believed to be the Pixel 4a smartphone and it lacks support for 5G connectivity. Popular tipster has already shared the leaked CAD renders of the Pixel 4a smartphone in the previous month.

Redfin and Bramble – Purported Google Pixel 4a XL

The Redfin codenamed device is being developed on the sm7250 and Android 10. The sm7250 is the codename of the Snapdragon 765 mobile platform. Since the SoC is integrated with 5G modem, it will be a 5G smartphone. The phone is being by manufacturer by FIH Mobile ODM, a subsidiary of Foxconn.

The Bramble codename was initially thought to be a Snapdragon 865 mobile platform. However, since it is running on Linux kernel version 4.19, it is not a SD865 device. As SD765 should be also based on Linux kernel vision 4.19, it could be based on sm7250 like the Redfin smartphone. There is no evidence on whether it is an ODM device. Like the Redfin, it is also being developed on Android and Android 11. There is a possibility that the Redfin or Bramble could end up as a 5G enabled Pixel 4a smartphone. Among Redfin and Bramble, one of them could be a commercial device whereas the other one could be a development board.
