It was recently reported that the Vivo Y95 phone could be available for buying in India starting from early November. Fresh information shared by 91 Mobiles citing details received from retail sources have revealed that the Vivo Y95 would be featuring a Halo (waterdrop) notch screen and it will be priced under Rs. 15,000 (~$205).

It is speculated that the Vivo Y95 could be arriving first in India since no other country has received it yet. The smartphone is tipped to feature a 6.22-inch IPS LCD screen with a smaller notch that houses the front-facing camera of 8-megapixel. The exact resolution of the screen is still under the wraps.

There is no information available on the SoC that will be powering the Vivo Y95. The unidentified SoC of the Y95 smartphone will be coupled with 4 GB of RAM. The handset will include an inbuilt storage of 64 GB. For photography, the back panel of the phone will be featuring 13-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera system. The handset will receive power from 3,260mAh battery. It is very likely to feature FunTouch OS based Android 8.1 Oreo. The handset is expected to carry a price tag of Rs. 14,990 (~$205).

The Vivo V95 is expected to arrive as the successor of the Vivo Y83. In comparison to the Y95, the Y83 features a screen with a larger notch, single 13-megapixel rear camera, 3 GB of RAM and lower internal storage of 32 GB. The Y83 is priced at Rs. 13,990 (~$192).

The publication has not shared information on the launch date of the Vivo Y95 for India. However, since it is expected to debut in early November, it may take few more days for the phone to go official. The Vivo Y95 will slot itself between the recently unveiled Vivo Y93 and Vivo Y97 phones that are available for buying in China. Since the Y93 is powered by Snapdragon 439 SoC and Y97 has Helio P60 onboard, the Vivo 95 could be equipped with a mid-range like Helio P22 or A22.

The handset is tipped to debut in early November in India.

According to the publication, Vivo may announced the Vivo Y95 may get announced during the upcoming Diwali festival season in November in India. Since, it is expected to arrive as a successor for the Vivo Y83, there is a possibility that it could be packed with slightly better specs. At present, there is no information available on the specifications of the upcoming Vivo Y95 smartphone.

The Vivo Y83 features a notched 6.22-inch IPS LCD display that produces HD+ resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels along with an aspect ratio of 19:9. The MediaTek Helio P22 SoC is present under the hood of the device. The SoC is couple with 4 GB of RAM and it is equipped with 32 GB of native storage. It features a microSD card slot for additional storage.

Vivo has today announced a price cut of up to Rs. 4,000 for three smartphones in India — Vivo V9, Vivo Y83, and Vivo X21. With the price cut, the Vivo V9 is now available for Rs. 18,990 (approximately $271) while the Vivo Y83 now costs Rs. 13,990 ($200). The Vivo X21 is now retailing in India for Rs. 31,990 which roughly converts to $457.

The Vivo V9 was launched in India earlier this year for Rs. 22,990. However, it received a price cut in June, bringing down the phone’s price to Rs. 20,990. The phone is available in three color options — Champagne Gold, Pearl Black, and Sapphire Blue.

It boasts a 6.3-inch Full-HD+ IPS FullView Display with 19:9 screen aspect ratio and a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor and packs 4GB RAM, 64GB storage. It features a dual rear camera setup with 16MP + 5MP sensors and a 24MP front-facing camera. Running on Android Orea, it is fuelled by a 3,260mAh battery.

The Vivo Y83 was launched in India in June for a price of Rs. 14,990 and is available in Black and Gold color options. Expanding its portfolio in India, Vivo has quietly launched a new smartphone in the Indian market — Vivo Y83. The smartphone was originally launched in China last week.

The Vivo Y83 is now available for purchase in India for a price of Rs. 14,990 from select retail stores across the nation. Currently, the phone has not been listed on eCommerce platform but we expect that it will soon be available via major online marketplaces in India.

The smartphone comes with a premium design and bringing the full-screen display to Vivo’s mid-range segment. It features a 6.22-inch HD+ display with screen resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels, 19:9 aspect ratio, and a notch on top of the display.

Under the hood, it is powered by MediaTek’s Helio P22 octa-core processor clocked at up to 2.0 GHz with an IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU clocked at 650 MHz. The chip features Mediatek’s Neuropilot tech which comes with support for TensorFlow, TF Lite, Caffe, and Caffe2.

The phone packs 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There’s also a microSD card slot, which enables users to further expand the phone’s storage capacity up to 256GB.

In the camera department, the Vivo Y83 features a 13-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash and f/2.2 aperture. On the front side, there’s an 8-megapixel snapper integrated with artificial intelligence and face recognition algorithm.

The front-facing camera supports features such as AI Makeup and customized beauty effects. The company says that the AI Beauty technology will get better at enhancing selfies as it learns more about the preferences with usage. Instead of the fingerprint sensor, the company decided to offer Face Unlock feature called Face Access 2.0.

Barely two days after MediaTek officially announced the Helio P22 chipset, Vivo has scored a first by launching the first Helio P22-powered smartphones. The smartphone is dubbed Vivo Y83 and aside from the new chipset, the device comes with a premium design bringing the full-screen design to Vivo’s mid-range segment. The Y83 is a low-end midrange smartphone by the way.

Vivo Y83 comes sporting a 6.22-inch display with an HD+ resolution of 1520×720p. The display design includes a notch at the top giving it is a 19:9 aspect ratio. The notch design ensured that the display is almost entirely bezel-less at the top and the sides. There is a considerable amount of bezel at the chin but it is minimal compared to what we’d get on previous models. The rear aspect of the Y83 houses a single rear camera tilted to the top left corner while the LED flash is by the side of the camera. The device seems to have a metal body (Viovo was silent about that) but it is revealed that the back panel gets a mirror finish achieved using a new high-gloss coating technology. The device comes in Aurora white, Polar Black and Red colours.

The MediaTek Helio P22 onboard the Y83 comes with eight Cortex A53 cores clocked at 2.0GHz and manufactured using the 12nm FinFet process. The chip features Mediatek’s Neuropilot tech which comes with support for TensorFlow, TF Lite, Caffe, and Caffe2. It can select the best available AI resource for developer efficiency. The processor is paired with 4GB of RAM as well as 64GB of internal storage. The native storage can be expanded up to 256GB using the microSD slot. The phone delivers dual SIM slots and interestingly, there is a separate tray for the SD card so that you don’t have to sacrifice any of the SIM slots for microSD card.

On the camera end, the Vivo Y83 comes with an 8MP sensor at the front integrated with artificial intelligence and face recognition algorithm. The front sensor supports features such as AI Makeup and customized beauty effects. The device also gets Face Unlock feature and since there is no physical fingerprint sensor, that may be the only way to unlock the device apart from the generic methods like the use of a password. The rear camera is a 13MP sensor with a f/2.2 aperture.

The Y83 gets its juice from a 3260mAh battery while the interface is provided by Vivo’s custom FunTouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.

As for the price, the Vivo Y83 is priced at 1,498 yuan ($235). The price looks nice for the specs but we think there are better models at that price point in the market already. The device is already on sale via Vivo online shop in China. It comes bundled with a free protective case and earphone.

Vivo has a new phone in the pipeline and it passed through China’s TENAA a few days ago. The phone which is called the Vivo Y83 is a mid-range phone that also has a notch in its display.

The Vivo Y83 has a 6.22” 720 x 1520 display. This is still HD+ resolution as other 720 x 1440 screens but the notch and extra screen flanking it gives it the bump in resolution.

There is 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage with support for storage expansion. The processor is an octa-core chipset clocked at 2.0GHz. The rear camera is a single 13MP sensor and the front-facing camera is an 8MP sensor.

The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo and packs a 3180mAh battery. Like some new releases from Vivo and its sister-company, OPPO, the Vivo Y83 is missing a fingerprint scanner. However, there is a high chance it has face unlock.
