<p>As per a recent tweet by Arsène Lupin, the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro smartwatch includes a Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage capacity. It is expected to feature a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466&#215;466 pixels and 326 ppi pixel density. The device may come with a 500mAh battery offering up to 72 hours of usage on a single charge, and an optional LTE variant for enhanced connectivity. One of the most important things revealed in the leak is that the smartwatch will feature WearOS with Xiaomi&#8217;s MIUI flavor on top.</p>

<p>In terms of build, the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro is said to have a stainless steel body protected by Gorilla Glass. It might be available with either a silver leather strap or a black rubber strap option. For fitness and health tracking, the smartwatch is rumored to support 150 different sports modes, ECG monitoring, heart rate tracking, body temperature monitoring, and sleep tracking.</p>

<p>To navigate its functions, the watch will feature a rotating crown, and it could have a 5ATM water resistance rating for water-based activities. These specifications are based on rumors and should be confirmed upon the official release of the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro. Notably, the leak also included high-definition renders that confirm the smartwatch&#8217;s model number as M2233W1.</p>

<p>Google is sunsetting <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google-assistant/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Google Assistant</a> on older Wear OS watches. In specific, smartwatches running Wear OS 2 or older will no longer be able to use Google Assistant after August 31, 2023. The details were first spotted in the latest version of the Wear OS Companion App, which contains a message that says &#8220;Google Assistant support on this watch is ending soon. Please upgrade to a newer watch that supports Google Assistant and runs Wear OS 3 or later.&#8221;</p>

<p>The Companion App, as per <a href="https://9to5google.com/2023/08/17/google-assistant-wear-os/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">9to5Google</a>, is specifically designed for devices that run Wear OS 2 and lower, so the shutdown of Google Assistant on these devices is certain. This leaves many devices from popular brands such as Montblanc, Polar, Michael Kors, Louis Vuitton, and Fossil with no access to the voice assistant.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/WearOS-2-and-older-smartwatches-ends-support-for-Google-Assistant.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-559283" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/WearOS-2-and-older-smartwatches-ends-support-for-Google-Assistant.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/WearOS-2-and-older-smartwatches-ends-support-for-Google-Assistant-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/WearOS-2-and-older-smartwatches-ends-support-for-Google-Assistant-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/WearOS-2-and-older-smartwatches-ends-support-for-Google-Assistant-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/WearOS-2-and-older-smartwatches-ends-support-for-Google-Assistant-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>As per <a href="https://www.theverge.com/2023/8/16/23834171/wear-os-2-google-assistant-support" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">TheVerge,</a> some users have already seen a shutdown notification on their smartwatches following the recent update to the Wear OS app. <a href="https://twitter.com/MishaalRahman" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mishaal Rahman</a>, a well-known figure in the Android community, even shared an image of his TicWatch Pro 3 displaying the message &#8220;Google Assistant support for this watch is ending soon.&#8221;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Google is announcing that Assistant will soon no longer support smartwatches running Wear OS 2. You&#39;ll need to upgrade to a newer watch that runs Wear OS 3 (and that supports Google Assistant).<br><br>I just got this notification on my TicWatch Pro 3 &#8211; anyone else also get this? <a href="https://t.co/NqwddYY2oa">pic.twitter.com/NqwddYY2oa</a></p>&mdash; Mishaal Rahman (@MishaalRahman) <a href="https://twitter.com/MishaalRahman/status/1691829388302532905?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">August 16, 2023</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<p>This is a relatively quick turnaround, but Google&#8217;s decision to discontinue Google Assistant support for Wear OS 2 devices is understandable, given that <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/wear-os-3/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Wear OS 3 </a>is now the main focus and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-watch-6/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Wear OS 4</a> is already rolling out. However, this does leave owners of older Android Wear smartwatches in a bit difficult situation. Do you own a Wear OS 2 or an older smartwatch? What do you think about this change?</p>

<p><a href="http://gizmochina.com/tags/wearos">WearOS</a>, a quite popular operating system developed by <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tags/google">Google</a> for smartwatches, has now said to get support for Gmail and Google Calendar. <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/google-pixel-watch">Google Pixel Watch</a> was the first product launched by Google and not much time has passed since its official launch. The Pixel Watch was the first product launched by the brand in that particular category and therefore some more refinement and optimization are needed on the software side to provide an overall polished and improved user experience.</p>

<p>A new report coming from the house of <em><a href="https://9to5google.com/2022/11/28/pixel-watch-gmail-calendar/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">9TO5Google</a> </em>has revealed that Google might be possibly working on adding Gmail and Google Calendar support to the WearOS operating system. The Gmail and Calendar apps for Wear OS devices, which include the Pixel Watch itself, will soon undergo more useful updates.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="578" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-115-1024x578.png?x44794" alt="Pixel Watch" class="wp-image-498891" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-115-1024x578.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-115-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-115-768x434.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-115-1536x868.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-115-696x393.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-115-1068x603.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-115-744x420.png 744w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-115.png 1657w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Currently, if you own a Google smartwatch, you must use the Agenda app to manage any calendar-related tasks. The Agenda app&#8217;s lack of suitability for its intended use is the problem here. Only three days&#8217; worth of appointments are displayed to you, and all you can do with them is read the details. There is no possibility to add new events or alter existing ones in any manner. This problem might be resolved with appropriate support for the official application.</p>

<p>According to the source, the applications would provide a &#8220;complete&#8221; experience, which implies that we might gain support for detailed email reading, email replies, and other Gmail-like capabilities. At least, that&#8217;s what we mean when we say an experience was &#8220;full.&#8221; With Google Calendar, the user might be able to add tasks and events right from their watch and it might feature a full calendar and event view. All of this, though, appears to be part of our expectations. Wait a few more months, and we might see the feature in its official form. Shortly after that, its true practicality will be analyzed.</p>

<p>As per the tipster, the company will unveil the latest wearable, which features a number of new technologies. This includes the new merged Tizen and Wear OS version, along with a 5nm processor, 2D glass, narrowed bezels for its display, and improved frame texture that is rumored to be a titanium alloy for the smartwatch. The new WearOS will integrate the features of the Tizen OS, which could be dubbed as the &#8220;TizenWear OS.&#8221;</p>

<p>Interestingly, Samsung is skipping the 2.5D glass panel with this model but will offer a narrower bezel. <p>Pro-Samsung tech blog <a href="https://www.sammobile.com/news/exclusive-galaxy-watch-4-feature-wear-os-confirmed/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Sammobile</a> has now released an &#8220;exclusive&#8221; report which it claims to confirm that the Korean tech giant would be ditching the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/tizen">Tizen OS</a> in favor of the Android Wear OS for the upcoming Galaxy Watch 4 models. Hence, for the 2021 lineup, Samsung’s watches will be running on the Wear OS.</p>
<p>Incorporating the Wear OS and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/04/21/samsung-galaxy-tab-active-3-android-11-one-ui-3-0-update/">One UI</a> will produce a mix of the classic look of the Samsung wearable and additional functionalities. Like the new Apple Watches, the upcoming Galaxy Watch 4 will have a feature that allows a user to send short audio messages to their contacts, akin to the functionality of a walkie-talkie.</p>
<p>Three new models are reportedly lined up for release this year, and they are codenamed Wise, Fresh, and Lucky. One of the models will have a classic look similar to a conventional watch, while the two other models will highlight Samsung’s innovative and attractive designs with a sporty look.</p>
<p>As for the price range and expected date of unveiling of the three Galaxy Watch 4 models, no specifics have been given yet. Samsung already has a July event slated for the launch of its foldable smartphone, and the Galaxy Watch 4 may also be unveiled during that event.</p>

Various measures and diagnosis kits have been developed so far but none of those are generally available to the public or are easily obtainable. However, the wearables on your wrists might be useful in this regard and are more widely found.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-272858 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/fitbit-versa-2-2.jpg?x44794" alt="Coronavirus" width="727" height="501" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/fitbit-versa-2-2.jpg 727w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/fitbit-versa-2-2-300x207.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/fitbit-versa-2-2-100x70.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/fitbit-versa-2-2-218x150.jpg 218w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/fitbit-versa-2-2-696x480.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/fitbit-versa-2-2-609x420.jpg 609w" sizes="(max-width: 727px) 100vw, 727px" /></p>
<p>To be fair, it is unfortunate that <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-watch/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Apple Watch</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/fitbit/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Fitbit</a> and other <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/wearos/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">WearOS</a> featuring gadgets cannot measure temperatures. For those unaware, Coronavirus infection is mainly deduced through fevers (high temperature) and issues with the respiratory system as primary symptoms. However, for those that still wish to track their temperatures due to fears of the case of the cough that isn&#8217;t going away, can still manually upload the data.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/31/whatsapp-status-video-time-limit-15-seconds/">WhatsApp trims Status video time limit by 15 seconds in India to tackle the traffic surge on servers</a></strong></h6>
<p>One can regularly check their temperatures and input the data into your results in Apple Health or Google Fit for now. Thereafter, it will be easier in consulting your physician with precise data, if in case the health deteriorates and the temperature rises. Another very helpful took offered by such smartwatches includes the heart rate monitor. Current gen wearables can alert users to possible warning signs of atrial fibrillation or sleep apnea. But they can also show signs of your body fighting flu like symptoms if you can spot it.</p>

<p>Meaning, the fluctuations in heart rate during sleep can also be a signal that your body is fighting the Coronavirus infection. According to reports, your heart&#8217;s BPM (beats per minute) can be slightly but noticeably higher during sleep, if you are fighting the flu like an infection. So knowing your heart rate on an average day is also recommended.</p>

After confirming some of the key hardware components of the smartwatch yesterday, today, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> has shown us a glimpse of its software.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/mi-smartwatch-apps-lite.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-286437" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/mi-smartwatch-apps-lite.jpg?x44794" alt="mi smartwatch apps lite" width="690" height="920" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/mi-smartwatch-apps-lite.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/mi-smartwatch-apps-lite-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/mi-smartwatch-apps-lite-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p>Xiaomi confirms that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mi-smartwatch">Mi smartwatch</a> will be able to install third-party apps for additional functions. From the image, we can confirm that the smartwatch will be able to download and install apps like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/wechat">WeChat</a>, QQ, Alipay, Keep (fitness app), and even DiDi (uber-like app). You can also control smart home devices, and check your fitness data right from the Mi smartwatch.</p>
<p>However, if you notice, the apps are of small size, all under 5MB. This is a very good indication that these are &#8216;Lite&#8217; versions of the regular apps specially optimized for the smartwatch. The company further adds that it runs on an open OS just like a smartphone. Unfortunately, we still don&#8217;t know whether it&#8217;ll run on Google&#8217;s WearOS.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_286275" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-286275" style="width: 690px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Watch-render.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-286275" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Watch-render.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Watch render" width="690" height="388" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Watch-render.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Watch-render-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-286275" class="wp-caption-text">Official renders of the Xiaomi Watch</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>Xiaomi has confirmed that the Mi smartwatch will be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/29/xiaomis-upcoming-smartwatch-to-feature-snapdragon-3100-chipset-confirms-teaser/">Snapdragon wear 3100 processor</a>, made specifically for wearables. It will have <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/gps">GPS</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nfc">NFC</a>, Wi-Fi / Bluetooth modules, an independent linear motor as well as speakers inside. The watch also adds <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/esim">eSIM</a> support.</p>

It launched in 2014 with a circular dial and was praised for its design though it did get flak for its infamous “flat tire” display. The following year, Motorola followed it up with a 2nd gen model and a sports model. Four years later, we are getting a third-gen Moto 360 but one not made by <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/motorola">Motorola</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-286361" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/New-Moto-360-all-colors.png?x44794" alt="New Moto 360" width="1446" height="673" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/New-Moto-360-all-colors.png 1446w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/New-Moto-360-all-colors-300x140.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/New-Moto-360-all-colors-768x357.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/New-Moto-360-all-colors-1024x477.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/New-Moto-360-all-colors-696x324.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/New-Moto-360-all-colors-1068x497.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/New-Moto-360-all-colors-902x420.png 902w" sizes="(max-width: 1446px) 100vw, 1446px" /></p>
<p>The new Moto 360 is made by a relatively unknown company called eBuyNow eCommerce Ltd and they are the new licensee for the Moto 360 name. While they have mainly stuck to the same design such as a circular dial and a stainless steel frame, there have also been some key changes.</p>
<p>The flat tire display is gone but you have a black bezel around the dial. There is also an extra button at 4 o&#8217;clock to keep the crown with its laser-engraved Motorola batwing logo at 2 o&#8217;clock company.</p>
<p>The Moto 360 has a 1.2-inch always-on “fully circular“ AMOLED display with a 390 x 390 resolution and 327 ppi. It is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and enclosed in brushed SUS316 stainless steel with PVD/DLC coating. With the ambient mode, you don&#8217;t have to tilt or press a button to check the time.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-286360" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/New-Moto-360.png?x44794" alt="New Moto 360" width="858" height="678" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/New-Moto-360.png 858w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/New-Moto-360-300x237.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/New-Moto-360-768x607.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/New-Moto-360-696x550.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/New-Moto-360-532x420.png 532w" sizes="(max-width: 858px) 100vw, 858px" /></p>
<p>There is a Snapdragon Wear 3100 chip inside the watch along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. The watch runs WearOS and connects via Bluetooth 4.2. It also has WiFi, NFC, GPS, an accelerometer, a gyroscope, and a barometer. The product page also mentions it is 3ATM water-resistant.</p>
<p>The new Moto 360 has a 335mAh battery with support for Quick Charge which allows you to charge the watch from empty to full in 60 minutes. It has a Battery Saver Mode that will automatically activate when the battery level is critical. In this mode, the watch will continue to show the time for up to 3 days.</p>
<p>The watch uses a 20mm strap and it will ship with leather and silicon straps, so you can swap when you want to take it for a swim. The watch is available in three colors &#8211; Steel Gray, Rose Gold, and Phantom Black. It will be available for pre-order in the US, Canada, and the UK mid-November and will go on sale in December for $350/£340.</p>

<p>While both watches share the same specs, Mobvoi is selling the sports-like Ticwatch S2 for $20 more. That extra amount is for the watch&#8217;s MIL-810G compliance which means it can survive extreme temperatures, shock, water, and dust, unlike the E2 which is only waterproof up to 5ATM.</p>
<p>Other than the difference highlighted above, both watches have a 1.39-inch AMOLED screen with a 400 x 400 resolution, a Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, and a 415mAh battery that is said to last up to 2-days on a charge.
