Casio is bringing a new limited-edition Oceanus Manta S7000 series watch to the US market. Following an initial release in Japan this past April, the OCWS7000AP1A model is now available stateside. It is priced at $1,900, and Casio is limiting production to 800 units globally.

Design Details

The watch is built primarily from titanium, which keeps the overall weight down to 83 grams. Both the case and the solid titanium band are treated with a titanium carbide coating to prevent scratching. For a connected, solar-powered analog watch, the S7000 maintains a relatively slim profile. It measures 9.5mm thick, with a case footprint of 47.5mm by 42.8mm. The band secures with a one-touch, slide-adjustable, three-fold clasp.

Visually, the design incorporates traditional Japanese materials. The watch face features a textured pattern, but the most distinct hardware detail is the three inset dials. The watch also includes Bluetooth connectivity. By pairing it with the Casio Watches smartphone app, you can automatically sync the local time, manage world time settings across 38 time zones and 300 cities, log time and location data, and trigger a phone finder feature.

It also includes 100-meter water resistance, a tachymeter, a one-second stopwatch, and a full auto-calendar. Battery life is rated for approximately five months of normal operation on a single charge without any light exposure. If left in total darkness, a built-in power-saving function temporarily halts the analog hands, extending the standby battery life to 19 months.

The lineup consists of three models: the standard GWR-B3000-1A, the blue ion-plated GWR-B3000A-2A, and the gray ion-plated GWR-B3000B-8A. All three share a large but relatively lightweight profile, measuring 56.7 by 47.3 by 14.1 mm and weighing 102 grams.

For the exterior, Casio is utilizing what it calls a dual hollow case structure. The outer case, constructed from stainless steel components formed via metal injection molding (MIM), surrounds a bio-based carbon inner case. This setup supports the center case at four distinct points and integrates resin buffers to absorb impacts. It is part of the company’s Triple G Resist specification, which is engineered to withstand standard drops, centrifugal force, and heavy vibration.

Internally, the watches are powered by Casio’s new Tough MVT.2 movement. The primary hardware update here is the addition of two sensor-based features: shock detection and magnetic field detection. If the watch sustains a heavy physical impact, the system automatically corrects the alignment of the analog hands. Similarly, if the internal sensor detects a strong magnetic field that could disrupt the mechanism, the hands temporarily pause their movement to prevent misalignment, then automatically snap back to the correct time once the interference clears.

Like most modern high-end G-Shocks, the GWR-B3000 series includes Bluetooth connectivity. By pairing the watch with the Casio Watches smartphone app, users can access automatic time adjustments and a flight log feature that records time and location data on a map. The watches also support Multiband 6 radio control as a fallback for time calibration.

The watches include a dark dial with microfabricated textures to reduce glare, an in-dial solar charging system (Tough Solar), and a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. The bands are made from a soft urethane that incorporates bio-based resins, continuing Casio’s recent shift toward using alternative materials in its watch construction.

Pricing and Availability

The standard GWR-B3000-1A will retail for ¥110,000 ($687), the GWR-B3000A-2A for ¥126,500 ($790), and the GWR-B3000B-8A for ¥137,500 ($859). Casio has not yet confirmed a release window or pricing for markets outside of Japan.

Casio is expanding its G-Steel lineup with the GST-B1000BD series, a new pair of watches that scale down the traditionally bulky G-Shock form factor while keeping the standard metal build and Bluetooth connectivity. The two new models, the GST-B1000BD-1A (black) and GST-B1000BD-2A (blue), are slated for release in June 2026 with a price of ¥75,900 ($474) in Japan.

The watches measure 46.9 by 44.2 millimeters and are 11.6 millimeters thick. To get the thickness down, Casio used a smaller internal module and a different glass bonding method. The core of the watch is made from a bio-based carbon-reinforced resin, which is then protected by a stainless steel bezel.

Visually, both the 1A and 2A models are entirely black. Casio applied a black ion plating to almost every metal part, including the bezel, the stainless steel bracelet, the side buttons, the screw-lock crown, the clasp, and the exterior screws. The bezel itself is simpler than usual; it doesn’t have the large G-Shock branding engraved into it. Instead, it just uses a mix of brushed and polished metal finishes for texture.

On the battery and connectivity side, the GST-B1000BD series runs on Casio’s Tough Solar charging system. The watch will run for about five months on a single charge under normal conditions, or up to 18 months if it is left in the dark with its power-saving mode turned on.

It also includes Bluetooth for smartphone pairing. By linking the watch to the Casio Watches app, it will automatically sync the correct time. The app also allows you to adjust watch settings, log your time and location, and trigger a phone finder feature.

Otherwise, the hardware includes the usual G-Shock specifications: 200-meter water resistance, a mineral glass crystal, and a white LED light for reading the analog dial in the dark. The dial itself features three main hands and two sub-dials for the day and a 24-hour clock, alongside basic 30-minute stopwatch, countdown timer, and daily alarm functions.

Casio seems to be working on a new mid-range G-Shock called the GDG-B100, and thanks to an insider leak, we’re getting our first real look at it before any official word from the company.

The watch has surfaced in three color variants: an all-black version, one with a green strap, and another with a sand-colored strap.

What’s interesting about the GDG-B100 is that it could be the first Mudman watch with an MIP display. Since the word “MUDMAN” is visible on the front, it’s confirmed that the watch is part of the Mudman family. 

Unlike the LCD found on the classic Casio Mudman line, the GDG-B100 uses a memory-in-pixel (MIP) screen, a technology that has gradually expanded across Casio’s smartwatch-inspired and fitness-oriented models.

Compared to traditional LCD panels, MIP displays generally offer better readability, improved contrast, and the ability to show more information at once while using less power.

The overall design also follows the familiar formula of Casio’s larger outdoor-focused watches, featuring a bulky case, prominent protective structures around the display, and a thick resin strap designed for demanding environments.

Casio GDG-B100 Specifications

While full specifications have not leaked, the display layout hints at several activity-tracking features. The watch is likely to include step counting, Bluetooth connectivity, activity logs through a smartphone app, and workout-related metrics such as distance, pace, and calorie tracking.

Standard G-Shock features like world time, alarms, a stopwatch, a timer, LED illumination, and 200-meter water resistance are also likely to be included.

There are still plenty of unanswered questions, though. It’s unclear whether the GDG-B100 will include environmental sensors such as a compass or thermometer, and there’s no confirmation yet that it will support Casio’s Tough Solar charging technology.

According to the leak, Casio could launch the GDG-B100 sometime this summer. Pricing is rumored to fall between $200 and $250.

Casio is teaming up with the pop group XG for a new pair of G-Shock watches. The collaboration briefly appeared on Casio’s US website earlier this week before the listings were removed, but the company has confirmed the watches will officially launch in Japan on June 12th.

Design Details

The collection consists of two models with very different designs. The more expensive option is the GM-S5600XG-1, which will sell for ¥36,300 (about $228). It uses the familiar square case that G-Shock is known for, but the glass covering the digital display has a rainbow vapor deposition finish.

According to Casio, this manufacturing process means the color gradient on every watch will be slightly different. The colors also shift depending on the angle of your wrist. To balance out the iridescent screen, the rest of the watch is made of standard black resin and stainless steel.

The second watch is the GMA-S110XG-4A, priced at ¥25,300 (roughly $158). This one is an analog-digital hybrid with a bulkier case. The pink resin band and bezel are made using a color molding technique that mixes different resins together during production. This creates a marbled pattern that, similar to the rainbow glass on the other model, is unique to each individual watch. It also includes a polarized dial that changes color in the light.

Beyond the cosmetic changes and the XG logos on the dials and case backs, these are standard G-Shock watches. Both come with the usual 200 meters of water resistance, shockproofing, stopwatches, timers, alarms, and LED backlights. The square model runs on a CR1616 battery estimated to last three years, while the analog model uses a CR1220 battery rated for two years.

Casio is also continuing to use bio-based resins for the bands on both watches, which is part of the company’s broader effort to use fewer traditional plastics in its manufacturing. There is no official word on a US release date yet, but the earlier website leak suggests an international rollout should be announced soon.

Casio is marking the 30th anniversary of its premium MR-G line with a new flagship diver, the G-Shock Frogman MRG-BF1000EB-1A. Scheduled for release in June 2026, it is one of the most expensive G-Shock models the company has produced, carrying a retail price of ¥1,210,000 ($7,590) in Japan. Production is capped at 800 numbered units worldwide.

Design Details

The MRG-BF1000EB-1AJR relies heavily on specialized materials and manufacturing processes rather than standard mass production. The bezel is constructed from Cobarion, a cobalt-chrome alloy that is roughly four times harder than pure titanium. Instead of standard machine milling, the bezel’s facets are cut by hand by Japanese gemstone artisan Kazuhito Komatsu.

The metal is then treated with a blue arc ion plating (AIP) to give it a reflective finish. According to Casio, this aesthetic is meant to mimic a brinicle, an underwater ice formation found in polar regions. Additionally, the two front screws on the asymmetrical case are set with lab-grown, 57-facet brilliant-cut blue sapphires.

Underneath the exterior treatments, the watch maintains the hardware specifications expected from the Frogman line. The core case, case back, crown, and buttons are machined from Ti64 titanium alloy and treated with a titanium carbide (TiC) coating for abrasion resistance.

It features an ISO 200-meter water resistance rating, supported by Casio’s Clad Guard Structure, which integrates fluoro rubber buffers into the crown and pushers to protect the internal module from impacts. The screw-lock case back incorporates a blue vapor-deposited sapphire crystal and an engraving of the standard Frogman character.

On the technology side, the MRG-BF1000EB-1AJR is fully analog but uses three independent dual-coil motors to drive the hands. In dive mode, the hour and minute hands overlap to function as a single indicator for elapsed dive time.

The watch is powered by Casio’s Tough Solar charging system and keeps time via Multi-Band 6 radio control and Bluetooth. When paired with the Casio Watches smartphone app, users can automatically adjust the time, log dive data, and set tide graphs for approximately 3,300 global locations.

The package includes two interchangeable bands: a white Dura Soft fluoro rubber strap for diving use, and a deep-hardened pure titanium bracelet. The lugs feature a quick-release button mechanism for swapping between the two. The entire 800-piece run ships in a custom box co-developed with Japanese luggage manufacturer Proteca.
