French e-mobility firm Kilow has entered the electric bicycle turf with the launch of the Kilow Gravel bike. The Kilow Gravel comes with a carbon fiber frame and uses a Bikedrive Air motor. Kilow has built a niche for itself in the electric vehicle market with its lightweight EVs. The Kilow Gravel electric bicycle is on display at the 2023 Roc d’Azur.

Features

The Kilow Gravel draws inspiration from the minimalist, aesthetically appealing, and lightweight design of Kilow electric cars. The rugged Kilow Gravel is designed as a gravel bike. It offers excellent maneuverability on the go allowing you to ride on difficult terrain easily. The new Kilow electric bicycle is as versatile as it can be. The Gravel is an e-mobility solution for use outside the city and also within urban settings. Marketing Director at Kilow, Arthur Allamand says that the Gravel offers an alternative to the almost non-existent public transport in the city outskirts. This is the reason for the choice of a gravel e-bike as Kilow’s debut entry into the space.

The Bikedrive Air motor on the Kilow Gravel is housed within its carbon fiber frame. While the Bikedrive Air is short on torque and power, it offers smoothness and a natural pedal feel. It has a maximum torque of 40Nm and a 250W continuous power output. There are three pedal assistance modes in the Gravel and this can be alternated via the toptube console. The downtube of the Gravel frame houses the battery which delivers up to 50km of assistance range on a full charge. The bike has a 12-speed Sram Force AXS system with support for electronic shifting and Hutchinson Touareg tires.

Pricing & Availability

The Kilow Gravel electric bicycle costs up to $10,000 or €9,490. It is available for pre-order but expected delivery times have not been stated. There are no global availability details for the Kilow Gravel at this time. Thus its sales are limited to the European Union for now.

The goal of the partnership between CASETIFY and Nothing is to promote Nothing’s unique look on the Apple iPhone. The new iPhone 15 Pro Max rear panel is similar to that of the Nothing Phone (2). Already, Apple has a transparent-effect case for the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The second Nothing-inspired case is designed to highlight the MagSafe ring on the smartphone.

The new Nothing x CASETIFY cases will be available in limited quantities with a starting price of $68. The two new iPhone 15 Pro Max cases are available in black or white finishing. Many of you might remember the original OnePlus Watch that launched back in 2021. The new PS5 brings a smaller form factor

Sony says the new PS5 model, often referred to as PS5 Slim, brings the same technology features that make PS5 the best to play packed into a smaller form factor. As per the company, the new PS5 has been reduced in volume by more than 30%, and weight by 18% and 24% compared to the previous models. It has four separate cover panels, with the top portion in a glossy look, while the bottom remains matte.

Sony now has added a bulge at the side of the PS5 for the disc drive, which can be removed and replaced. Additionally, on each side, there are now two slits, and at the front, instead of the single USB-C and USB-A ports found on the current PS5, you’ll find dual USB-C ports. Sony will include a horizontal stand with the new PS5 model. The company has also introduced a vertical stand, compatible with all PS5 models. But you’ll need to get it separately for $29.99.

In the United States, the PS5 equipped with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive will be available at a price of $499.99, whereas the PS5 Digital Edition will be priced at $449.99. For European customers, the prices will be set at 549.99 EUR for the standard model and 449.99 EUR for the Digital Edition. In the UK, the standard PS5 will be priced at 479.99 GBP, while the PS5 Digital Edition will cost 389.99 GBP. In Japan, the standard PS5 will be available at 66,980 JPY, and the PS5 Digital Edition will be priced at 59,980 JPY.

Samsung urges Apple to adopt RCS in its own snarky way

Google has been taunting Apple for not adopting the Rich Communication Services (RCS) protocol for over a year now. The company even launched a campaign called ‘Get The Message’ to pressure the iPhone maker into adopting the messaging protocol, but Apple didn’t bother to listen. Now, Samsung has joined the search giant in urging the Cupertino company to embrace RCS, and it has done so in its own sarcastic way.

“Help Apple,” says Samsung

Samsung has released a new video on YouTube, which calls for Apple to adopt RCS. The video, titled “Green bubbles and blue bubbles want to be together,” shows a Romeo and Juliet-style conversation between two users who want to be together, but are kept apart by one of their parents (hinting at Apple’s stubbornness to support RCS in iMessage). “What did green ever do to them? We’re bubbles too,” one of them asks. The touching video from Samsung supports Google’s existing #GetTheMessage campaign.

RCS is supposed to be an upgrade over the existing messaging protocol, SMS, which lacks encryption, group messaging, or animated stickers. RCS chats are meant to give you a rich messaging experience by showing you when someone is typing, offering read receipts, and allowing you to send messages over mobile data or Wi-Fi. You can also share large files and high-resolution photos using RCS. The new protocol is available on all Android phones.

For RCS to be effective, it must be implemented on all smartphones, including iPhones. However, Apple has been reluctant to embrace the new protocol, presumably because the Cupertino company doesn’t want to relinquish its ecosystem lock-in. While the likelihood of Apple willingly adopting RCS is slim, regulators, such as the EU, might force it to open up its messaging services. That said, you can still try RCS on iPhones using this third party app.

ColorOS 14 x Android 14 beta program live for Oppo Reno 8

Oppo has confirmed it will unveil the latest version of its software skin— ColorOS 14— on November 16. However, the company has already started to beta testing of the new OS on many phones. The latest device to join the program is the Oppo Reno 8. Here are the details.

Reno 8 users get an early look at Android 14

The ColorOS 14 beta program was announced for the Oppo Reno 8 Pro+ back in August, and now the Reno 8 has also been added to the roster. Oppo is recruiting internal beta testers from China starting today. However, there’s no news about the beta testing extending to the global market.

Currently, the Find X6 Pro, OnePlus 11, Reno 9 Pro, and handful of other Oppo phones are eligible to sign up for ColorOS 14 beta. However, the testing is limited to China. The company even released a detailed schedule earlier today, revealing when major Oppo flagships and mid-rangers will receive the ColorOS 14 beta update. As mentioned, the OS itself will be unveiled on November 16.

Oppo is yet to detail the major changes included in the ColorOS 14 update. Since it is based on Android 14, you can expect it to bring the new features Google introduced. To remind you, Android 14 brings several new features, including native spatial audio support, cross-device copy and paste, and a new media player. iQOO 12 Indian launch timeline tipped, will be the first SD8 Gen 3 smartphone in the country

As the launch of the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip is approaching, smartphone brands around the world are gearing up to launch new devices with the cutting-edge SoC. iQOO is rumored to be working on a new flagship, which will be called the iQOO 12 and will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. That being said, a new leak has revealed when we can expect this smartphone to arrive in India.

As per known tipster Mukul Sharma, the iQOO 12 will be launched in India by November end, or early December. It will be the first smartphone to introduce the SD8 Gen 3 chip in the Indian market.

Leaked information suggests the iQOO 12 will feature an E7 AMOLED panel with a 2K resolution and an impressive 144Hz refresh rate. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor is expected to be coupled with the Adreno 750 GPU for robust performance.

Regarding memory and storage, users can choose between 12GB or 16GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. Although Google has already launched Android 14, it looks like the iQOO 12 could run on Origin OS 4.0, based on Android 13 out of the box.

A detailed camera leak reveals that the iQOO 12 will have some powerful sensors onboard including a 50MP wide-angle lens, and a 64MP telephoto lens with 3X optical zoom.

The device is expected to be powered by a 5000mAh battery and supports an impressive 200W fast charging, reducing downtime significantly.

OnePlus Open could come in two colors

OnePlus Open is essentially the same device as the Oppo Find N3 Fold, which is set to launch in China. The new images shared by Winfuture once again confirm this, as it looks identical to its Oppo counterpart. However, a report from earlier today showcased the Find N3 Fold in a flashy gold color option as well, but the OnePlus Open is only pictured in black and green. You may see the additional shade during the launch.

In the pictures shared by the German publication, the OnePlus Open is featured with a round camera module. We see a triple-camera setup along with a Hasselblad branding. The device also has the signature OnePlus mute switch on one of the sides. The foldable appears to have a compact profile. If previous leaks are to be believed, the OnePlus Open will bring a 7.8-inch foldable OLED display as well as a 6.31-inch panel on the outside.

It might sport the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC under the hood, paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. In the camera department, you may see a 48MP main camera with another 48MP ultrawide shooter. A 64MP telephoto sensor should also be in the mix. The OnePlus Foldable is expected to debut on October 19. It even leaked in a new hands-on video earlier today.

The company’s Electric Car Segment surged by 37% in the first 9 months of 2023

While Volvo’s total car sales have risen by 19% year-over-year in the first nine months of 2023, the plug-in electric car segment surged by 37%, reaching 21,103 sales. This means plug-in cars now make up 34.2% of Volvo’s total sales, a bump from last year’s 31.3%. Notably, these figures are pushing the envelope even before Volvo launches its next generation of all-electric vehicles, expected to significantly shift the balance in favor of pure electric cars.

The current sales trend suggests that plug-in hybrid cars are slightly outselling all-electric ones. However, given the current growth rate—especially a 52% rise in battery electric vehicles (BEVs)—this is likely to flip soon. The data backs it up: for this year so far, BEVs like the Volvo C40 Recharge and the Volvo XC40 Recharge have a 15.8% share, a staggering 149% increase year-over-year.

Volvo’s electric pivot isn’t just limited to its homeland. A look at the geography of these sales paints an inclusive picture. In Europe, plug-in car sales were 13,599, up 21%. The United States saw an explosive 161% increase to 3,052 units. Even in China, often viewed as a challenging market, Volvo notched up a 20% increase in plug-in car sales.

Zebronics Pro Series Y and Pro Series Z specifications and features

The Zebronics Pro Series Y and Pro Series Z sport a sleek metallic body. The former has a unique hinge design for better airflow whereas the latter offers a 180-degree tilt capability. Both devices have a fingerprint scanner embedded in the trackpad. There is a dual driver speaker and a 2MP webcam with the Pro Series Z also featuring a privacy shutter.

The Zebronics Pro Series Y and Pro Series Z come with a 15.6-inch display bearing an FHD resolution. Both models weigh 1.76 kgs. On the audio front, the Pro Series Z also features Dolby Atmos for an immersive sound experience.

Under the hood, the Zebronics Pro Series Y is equipped with up to 11th generation Intel Core i5 processor whereas the Pro Series Z is powered by up to 12th generation Core i7. Both machines pack up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. The Zebronics Pro Series duo is claimed to offer up to 10 hours of battery life with support for 65W charging. Software-wise, they run on Windows 11 out of the box. Connectivity options on the devices include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, mini HDMI, two USB 3,2 ports, and a microSD card slot.

The Zebronics Pro Series Y starts at Rs 27,999 for the i3, 8GB RAM, and 512GB storage option. The i5 +8GB RAM + 512GB storage and i5 +16GB RAM + 512GB storage configurations at priced at Rs 31,990 and Rs 32,990 respectively. It is offered in Silver and Sage Green colors.

As for the Zebronics Pro Series Z, the 12th generation i3 + 8GB RAM + 512GB storage, i5 + 8GB RAM + 512GB storage, and i5 + 16GB RAM + 512GB storage are priced at Rs 31,990, Rs 37,990, and Rs 39,990 respectively. The top end configuration with i7, 16GB, 512GB storage costs Rs 50,990 whereas the 1TB storage option carries a price tag of Rs 52,990.
