Latest Whatsapp Beta Update brings Redesigned Emoji Keyboard & new Community Settings

WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, is introducing exciting updates through its latest beta version, 2.23.12.13, available for Android users participating in the Google Play Beta Program. This update brings significant changes to the keyboard and introduces a new feature called “Community Settings” for select beta testers.

Only select Beta testers can currently experience the revamped Whatsapp Features

One of the most noticeable enhancements in this update is the redesigned keyboard. It seems that WhatsApp has contributed sincere effort towards improving the overall user experience, revamping various interface elements and repositioning them. As a result, users can now effortlessly scroll the keyboard upward, revealing a full-screen emoji list. This feature aims to make communication more engaging and enjoyable. To check if this update has been enabled for your account, users can simply open a chat and see if the new keyboard appears.

Whatsapp

Additionally, a select group of beta testers will be among the first to experience the rearrangement of media sharing and emoji keyboard buttons. While this change is limited to a specific set of users for now, it may eventually roll out to a wider audience in the future. In addition to the keyboard improvements, WhatsApp has also introduced a new feature called “Community Settings.” Currently available to a very small number of beta testers, this feature enables community admins to regulate who can add groups to their community. By default, only community admins have the authority to add groups. However, if desired, admins can modify this setting to allow community participants to add their own groups. This flexibility empowers community owners to create a tailored environment that suits their specific needs.

The redesigned keyboard and Community Settings feature is currently available to a select group of beta testers who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta for Android update from the Google Play Store. However, WhatsApp plans to gradually fix any bugs that might arise and then release these updates to a broader user base over the next few weeks. The Meta-owned company continues to prioritize enhancing user experience, and these latest updates are a testament to that commitment. Users can look forward to a more streamlined and enjoyable messaging experience with the redesigned keyboard.

AI Chatbot Coming to Instagram, Aims to Revolutionize Conversations

In the ever-evolving world of social media, Instagram continues to surprise its users with intriguing features. The latest buzz surrounds the potential integration of an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot with the popular photo-sharing platform. Reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi recently revealed screenshots indicating that Instagram is working on an AI agent capable of answering questions and providing advice. If these speculations hold true, this could make Instagram one of the first social media platforms alongside Snapchat to have a chatbot.

The Instagram AI Chatbot seems more versatile than Snapchat’s AI Chatbot

The proposed chatbot aims to assist individuals who struggle with composing messages. With its ability to offer guidance and support, it could help the user craft the perfect response. Whether one is seeking advice on fashion, travel, or any other topic, the chatbot will likely be a valuable companion for users.

Image

One unique aspect of this development is the potential for users to choose from a wide array of personalities for their chatbot. Imagine having the option to engage with different personas, each with its unique style and tone. Whether you prefer a witty and humorous companion or a calm and knowledgeable personality, the choice would be yours.

Furthermore, Instagram seems to be considering a seamless integration of the chatbot into ongoing conversations. By simply @-mentioning the chatbot, users will be able to bring it into their existing discussions. This feature could facilitate smoother and more engaging interactions, enhancing the overall user experience.

While the exact timeline for the release of this feature remains uncertain, previous statements from Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg indicate that the company is actively exploring AI personas for Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp. Paluzzi, who has a solid track record of uncovering upcoming features, also adds credibility to these claims. In the past, he accurately identified evidence of Instagram’s paid verification system weeks before it was officially announced by Meta.

Samsung’s upcoming foldable smartphones could feature dust resistance

Samsung is the market leader when it comes to foldable smartphones, and the South Korean giant is now gearing up to launch the fifth generation of Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip smartphones.

While the launch of the upcoming foldable phones from Samsung is still months away, details about the devices keep surfacing online. In the latest development, it is claimed that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 could come with support for dust resistance.

Galaxy Z Fold 5

As per the report from Twitter user @chunvn8888, the next-generation foldable smartphones from Samsung will be IP58 rated, meaning water and dust resistance. Based on the ratings, the water resistance will be up to 1.5 meters deep for up to 30 minutes.

The current generation devices have IPX8 ratings, offering only water resistance. With the addition of dust resistance, the phone would be more durable and less likely to get damaged by dirt, sand, or other particles. This is more important because of the device being prone to damage due to dust, especially with additional mechanical parts like hinges.

Note that the report hasn’t been confirmed yet, so we advise you to take this information with a pinch of salt. However, we expect the addition of this feature in the upcoming foldable smartphones from the brand.

Recently, Motorola launched the Razr and Razr+ smartphones which come with an IP52 rating, offering the same level of dust resistance as IP68 but lacking the level of protection against water.

The Most Powerful AMD Desktop Processors Yet: AMD Confirms Ryzen 8000 Series

The competition in the processor market is fierce. While there are many manufacturers in the market, such as Apple and Qualcomm, the two main players are the red team and the blue team. Most recently, AMD aka the red team is looking to heat up the competition even further by confirming its Ryzen 8000 AM5 processors. These processors will feature the Zen 5 CPU architecture and the Navi 3.5 graphics architecture. Here are the details…

AMD Confirms Ryzen 8000 Series: Next-Gen Desktop Processors to Feature Zen 5 CPU and Navi 3.5 Graphics

AMD has confirmed that it will release its next generation of Ryzen processors in 2024. The Ryzen 8000 series will use the new Zen 5 architecture and Navi 3.5 graphics. The chips will be codenamed “Granite Ridge” and will feature up to 16 CPU cores. The Navi 3.5 GPU will be a die shrink of Navi 3, which will improve clock speed and efficiency.

AMD Ryzen 8000 roadmap

The Ryzen 8000 series will be a significant upgrade over the current Ryzen 7000 series. The Zen 5 CPU cores are expected to offer a 15% performance boost over Zen 4, while the Navi 3.5 GPU is expected to offer a 20% performance boost over Navi 3. This will make the Ryzen 8000 series the most powerful AMD desktop processors to date. AMD has not yet announced any specific pricing or availability information for the Ryzen 8000 series. However, it is expected to be released in 2024. AMD has also confirmed that the AM5 socket will be supported until 2026.

AMD’s backward compatibility policy is one of the company’s greatest secrets to success. In the past, Intel was changing the socket almost every new generation of processors, which forced users to purchase a new motherboard along with the CPU. This was a major hassle for PC enthusiasts, and it made it difficult to upgrade their systems. AMD changed this by making backward compatibility standard.

Microsoft ‘Accidentally’ Collects Kids Information Illegally on Xbox

In today’s world, information security is a major concern for everyone, including children. As technology continues to advance and become more widespread, children are increasingly exposed to risks of data collection and more. In the pas couple of years several major companies, including social media platforms, operating systems, and video-sharing websites, have been accused of collecting children’s information without parental consent. In a recent case, Microsoft was fined $20 million for illegally collecting information through its Xbox consoles. Here are the details…

Microsoft Xbox Data Scandal Shows Need for Stronger Online Privacy Regulations

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has imposed a $20 million fine on Microsoft for breaching children’s online privacy regulations. The violation involved Microsoft collecting personal information from children under 13 years old without obtaining parental consent. The FTC discovered that Microsoft gathered the following details without proper authorization: names, email addresses, dates of birth, gamertags, gamer scores, and Xbox Live activity histories.

The company used this personal information to track children’s gaming habits, target them with advertising, and sell their data to third-party companies. Microsoft have already responded to the ruling with a post on the official Xbox blog. The company said in its statement:

“We recently entered into a settlement with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission to update our account creation process and resolve a data retention glitch found in our system. Regrettably, we did not meet customer expectations and are committed to complying with the order to continue improving upon our safety measures. We believe that we can and should do more, and we’ll remain steadfast in our commitment to safety, privacy, and security for our community.”

“During the investigation, we identified a technical glitch where our systems did not delete account creation data for child accounts where the account creation process was started but not completed. This was inconsistent with our policy to save that information for only 14 days to make it easier for gamers to pick up where they left off to complete the process. Our engineering team took immediate action: we fixed the glitch, deleted the data, and implemented practices to prevent the error from recurring. The data was never used, shared, or monetized.”

Apparently, Microsoft seems to have resolved this issue following the “highly convincing” statement and the $20 million fine.

Apple Vision Pro: US-Only Launch, Zeiss Lens Requirement, Early AR Demo, and More

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2023 was a huge success. The event included many significant announcements, such as: iOS 17, iPadOS 17, watchOS 10, tvOS 17, macOS Sonoma, 15-inch MacBook Air, the new Mac Studio, and the M2 Ultra. However, the most popular announcement was the new Apple Vision Pro headset. While we know a lot about the headset, there are still some lesser-known details that are worth knowing.

Exploring Apple Vision Pro: The Details You Might Not Know

Apple has been rumored to be working on a mixed reality headset for a long time. Recently, there were so many leaks about the device that it was hard to keep track of them all. Finally, last night, Apple announced its first headset, called the Vision Pro. The headset has a high price tag of $3499, but it still managed to generate a lot of excitement. However, there is some confusion about the headset’s features and availability.

First of all no, the Apple Vision Pro won’t be available to everyone just yet. It will be sold exclusively in the United States in early 2024.The headset will be sold exclusively in the United States when it launches early next year, and it will have a starting price of $3,499. In addition, Apple has announced that Vision Pro will have an age requirement of 13 and older.

If you wear glasses and are considering buying the Apple Vision Pro, you may want to reconsider. The Vision Pro does not support glasses directly. Instead, you must use magnetically attached corrective lenses from Zeiss. This is less convenient than other headsets, which use physical spacers to accommodate glasses.

The reason for this is that the Vision Pro’s advanced eye tracking capabilities are essential for its operating system, VisionOS. The reflectivity from eyeglasses can disrupt the eye tracking, so Apple has chosen to require the use of corrective lenses instead. If you want to preview Vision Pro early, it’s possible to do so even before buying it. All you need to do is click here to reach Apple’s relevant page and then scroll down to the bottom of the page to click on the AR link.

Recently, the company introduced a new 70W power adapter.

Jaguar Issues Full Recall of I-Pace EVs due to heightened battery fire hazard concerns

Jaguar is recalling all units of the I-Pace electric vehicles in the US due to risks of fires induced by battery overheating. An industry expert had previously warned Jaguar about the risk of battery fires. The recall of the I-Pace EV comes one year after concerns were raised about the EV after assessing four separate battery fires.

Jaguar I-Pace

The trajectory of the recall of the I-Pace is similar to that of the Chevy Bolt EV although up to a dozen fire incidents were reported for the Chevy Bolt. In addition, both the Chevy Bolt and I-Pace use the same LG Energy battery cells. Jaguar is recalling the I-Pace models built at the Graz Vehicle Assembly Plant from June 5, 2018.

The NHTSA recall notice stated that the vehicles have experienced thermal overload which is indicated as smoke or fire. This may occur underneath the vehicle at the location of the high-voltage traction battery. Jaguar says investigations are still ongoing and it identified LG Energy as the supplier involved in the recall.

According to Jaguar, the recalled I-Pace EVs will receive an update on the Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) software. This will monitor the battery pack assembly’s operational status to identify conditions that may lead to thermal overload. The software also provides an enhanced level of driver warnings. Where the software determines a possible risk, the battery charging capacity is reduced to 75%. Further warnings will direct the driver to take the car to a Jaguar retailer for extensive diagnosis and repair.

In situations that warrant the replacement of the High Voltage battery pack, there will not be any extra charges on the vehicle’s owner, according to Jaguar. Furthermore, customers who had previously paid for the repair of this defect will be reimbursed.
