Android 17 is now shipping: Google released the stable build for Pixel phones in June 2026, and for Poco devices the update arrives with Xiaomi’s software on top. The interim HyperOS 3.3 update, which began rolling out on July 15, moves current devices to Android 17, while the bigger HyperOS 4 upgrade — promising a “Zero-Legacy” architecture for faster performance — will be unveiled in July or August and is expected to reach older devices from around October 2026.
Which Poco devices get Android 17?
Every recent Poco flagship and mid-ranger — the F6 through F8 series, X6 Pro through X8 Pro Max, current M and C series phones, and the Poco Pad M1, X1 and C1 — is in line for Android 17. The update arrives through Xiaomi’s HyperOS: an interim HyperOS 3.3 build is rolling out now, with the full HyperOS 4 upgrade unveiling in July or August 2026 and reaching older devices from around October.

Android 17 key features
Android 17 focuses heavily on Large Screen Adaptivity. For the first time, Google is making it mandatory for apps to be resizable, effectively killing off those annoying black “letterbox” bars on tablets and foldables. This will ensure that Poco Pad users enjoy a truly immersive, full-screen experience across all their favorite apps without developers needing to manually “opt-in.”
On the visual front, Android 17 expands the Material 3 Expressive design. Users can expect more translucent “blur” effects throughout the UI, particularly in the volume sliders and power menus. Under the hood, a new “lock-free MessageQueue” is set to reduce dropped frames, making the system feel smoother than ever, while enhanced privacy controls will give users clearer visibility into how apps access sensitive data.
