Samsung introduced the Galaxy S Fan Edition (FE) series in 2020 with the launch of the Galaxy S20 FE. During the announcement, the company revealed that it will bring more FE phones down the line.

But unfortunately, the plan did not go well. The South Korean Electronic giant only released a single successor in the form of Galaxy S21 FE. Even this device was on the brink of getting canceled but somehow it went official much later than the planned timeline.

Further, the Galaxy S22 FE had a rough start since the beginning. It was said to be axed a few months ago. Amidst this, a new report now suggests that Samsung may debut the Galaxy S23 FE later this year.

According to a report by a South Korean publication called Hankooki (via SamMobile), Samsung will release the Galaxy S23 FE in the second half of 2023. If this is true, the Galaxy S FE series is still alive and intact.

The affordable Galaxy S lineup was said to be discontinued for once and all last year. Thus, this piece of information is good news for targeted consumers.

The report also confirms the fate of the rumored Galaxy A74. The successor of Galaxy A73 is most likely canceled. This is expected to prevent cannibalism among Samsung’s own phones. For the unaware, the A7x handsets are usually priced closer to the Galaxy S FE devices.

Additionally, the report also says that the upcoming Galaxy S23 FE will be sold in more markets than ever before. This is to compensate for the absence of Galaxy A74.

Unfortunately, not much is known about the next-gen Galaxy S Fan Edition smartphone. There’s a chance it could be powered by an unreleased Exynos 2300 SoC. However, we could not rule out the possibility of Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 and Snapdragon Gen 2 for Galaxy chipsets either.

Sony is apparently making a truly wireless earbuds that are built for gamers. This new hearables will be for its PlayStation 5 console. But despite being gaming earbuds, the device will still offer a premium audio experience. So here are all the details.

According to a new report, the Japanese tech giant is working on a new pair of gaming earbuds that have been codenamed Project Nomad. These are a pair on in-ear earphones that will offer a premium audio experience. Sony is a known brand in the hearables market, so its expertise will likely been seen in these upcoming earbuds as well. The report adds that the battery life on these earphone will be around five hours, which is the average with most earbuds.

This device could even rival the Apple AirPods. The AirPods offers spatial surround sound support, which the PS5 also offers. In other words, it is also possible that the new PS5 earbuds could come with this feature as well. The wireless earphones would likely house a USB Type-C port for charging. As of right now, it is unclear when Sony would launch these PS5 earbuds, although the report claims that the announcement isn’t planned for anytime this year.

Rather, the release could be set for around March or April 2024. So far, the company only offers gaming headsets that are built for the PlayStation 5 along with its InZone series. After much weight, iQOO has launched the Neo 7 smartphone for India. This device is the rebranded version of the iQOO Neo 7 SE which was launched back on December 8 in China. Let’s take a look at all the specs and features present on the device.

iQOO Neo 7 specs & features

The iQOO Neo 7 comes with a 6.78-inch center-aligned punch-hole AMOLED display featuring FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It has thin bezels, HDR10+ certification, a peak brightness of 1300 nits, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The back panel has a square camera module, and the smartphone is equipped with a three-dimensional stereo speaker for audio.

In terms of optics, the iQOO Neo 7 has triple rear cameras, which include an OIS-enabled 64MP primary sensor, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, there is a 16MP front-facing camera.

Under the hood, the iQOO Neo 7 is the first smartphone to be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8200 processor, which is based on a 4nm process. The device comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It also features a heat dissipation system and an X-Axis linear motor. Update: OnePlus reached out to us today saying that they miscommunicated the software update cycle for the OnePlus 11R previously. The correct update cycle is three years of Android OS versions and four years of security updates. This means that the OnePlus 11R will receive up to Android 16 version.

OnePlus had announced a new software update policy last December. During the Cloud 11 launch event, the brand revealed that the OnePlus 11 5G will be the first phone to receive four future Android OS versions. However, the same was not announced for the OnePlus 11R 5G which also debuted at the event. Now the OnePlus support team has officially confirmed the software update cycle for the latest R-series device.

Replying to a user on Twitter, OnePlus says that the latest 11R will get four major Android updates and five years of security updates. It ships with the latest OxygenOS 13-based Android 13 out of the box. The guaranteed four years of updates mean that the smartphone will be eligible to run on the Android 17 OS version. This puts the OnePlus 11R 5G on par with the 11 5G in terms of software support. Additionally, there are not many devices under the Rs 45,000 segment (considering the top variant of the 11R 5G) to get as many as four years of Android OS updates. Most of them offer two or three versions at max.

Back in September 2022, the Realme C33 budget-range smartphone was launched in India. The smartphone is currently available in 3 GB + 32 GB and 4 GB + 64 GB RAM and storage options. However, it appears that the brand will soon be launching a 128GB storage option for India as well as other Global markets.

The device has appeared on multiple certification websites with an RMX3627 model number and 128GB storage onboard. Now, the same has made an appearance on Geekbenck.

According to a recent Geekbench 5 benchmark database listing, the Realme C33 has a single-core score of 274 points and a multi-core score of 1269 points. The listing confirms that the phone will have an octa-core processor with a peak frequency of 1.82GHz.

The Realme C33 128GB will be powered by a UniSoC T612 processor, which is the same as the current Realme C33 models. Additionally, the benchmark listing also reveals that the phone will come with 4GB of RAM and run on Android 12 operating system.

The Vivo V27e has been spotted on SIRIM and BIS certification websites (via), confirming that the device will launch in Malaysia and India. The listings do not reveal anything regarding the specifications, however, they do confirm that in both regions the device will have model number V2237.

We know about some of the specifications of the Vivo V27e thanks to a recent Google Play Console listing. According to the listing, the device will have a 1080 x 2400 pixels display with 440 ppi pixel density. The display will likely be an AMOLED panel that’s 6.62 inches in size, and offer up to 120Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, the device will have a MediaTek MT6789 SoC which is also known as the Helio G99. This is a 6nm based 4G chipset manufactured by TSMC and offers great efficiency and decent performance. It is worth noting that the Chinese counterpart of this device i.e. the Vivo S16e is powered by a Dimensity 1080 chipset that comes with 5G support.

For optics, we can expect a 50MP main sensor, 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth snapper. There is a 16MP front-facing camera. Other details about the device are still a mystery at the moment.

Cube, a China-based manufacturer, has announced a new tablet in the market, dubbed Cube X Pad. While the Cube X Pad Android-powered tablet has been announced in the Chinese market, the company has not yet revealed information about its launch.

The official teaser poster shared by the company reveals that the Cube X Pad will come powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor and will offer an in-built storage space of 256GB.

MediaTek has been expanding its lineup of chipsets, and in line with that, the Taiwan-based company has today announced a new Dimensity series chipset, dubbed MediaTek Dimensity 7200.

The newly announced chipset is a mid-range offering from the company and comes with a focus on gaming and photography, two of the most sought-after features by users.

The MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC is built by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) using the N4P process, which is the same used in the Dimensity 9200 series as an improvement over the Dimensity 9000.

It features two Cortex-A715 cores with a high frequency of 2.8GHz and six Cortex-A510 cores. There’s also Mali G610 MC4 GPU for handling visuals on the device. It supports a Full HD display of up to 144Hz along with HDR10+, CUVA HDR, and Dolby HDR.

There’s MediaTek HyperEngine 5.0, which allows for AI-based Variable Rate Shading and has UFS 3.1 storage for faster loading and RAM running at up to 6,400Mbps (LPDDR5). For optics, the chipset uses a 14-bit HDR ISP with support for 4K HDR video capture and also supports a main camera of up to 200MP and is capable of taking in two video streams of Full HD resolution each.

It also has APU, allowing for a number of AI-powered camera enhancements, such as Real-Time Portrait Beautification. The chipset also supports 5G sub-6GHz with up to 4.7Gbps downlink, along with 2CC Carrier Aggregation, Dual SIM 5G, triband Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3.

MediaTek Dimensity 7200 will be available in smartphones launching in the first quarter of this year, but none of the smartphone brands have announced anything related to this. We will have to wait for a couple of more weeks for an announcement from brands about a smartphone powered by this new processor.

Hisense has unveiled its 90L5H 4K Smart Laser TV to selected markets. The Hisense 90L5H 4K Smart Laser TV has a 90-inch display and an ultra-short throw projector. It supports HDR10+, and Dolby Vision and can output up to 2,100 Lumens of brightness. The new Hisense TV is now on sale in South Africa and Europe.

The 90L5H has an integrated 30W sound system and also supports gaming with its ALLM gaming mode. The TV has a 16:9 aspect ratio and 8.3 million pixels. The light source for the TV is based on DLP with X-Fusion laser technology. It has an Ambient Light Rejecting feature that further enhances the colors. It has a 60Hz frame rate, a native contrast ratio of 3000:1, and a 120-motion rate. The 90L5H supports HLG and its Filmmaker Mode allows you to have a more immersive viewing. Two built-in 15W speakers provide the audio architecture for the smart TV.

The connectivity options for the 90L5H 4K laser TV include HDMI ARC and USB. Miracast allows the user to stream content from a smartphone. The TV weighs about 9kg and has an aluminum body.

The Hisense 90L5H 4K Smart Laser TV is priced in South Africa at R34,999 ($1,946) and in Europe, it costs 2,889.95 ($,3099). In European markets like France, Belgium, Italy, and Spain, the Smart TV can be purchased via LDC. The availability of the product is expected to spread to other markets subsequently. However, it is unclear when this will happen and the specific markets slated for the next rollout

IKEA VINDSTYRKA Smart Air Quality Sensor Announced

IKEA has announced the VINDSTYRKA smart air quality sensor. The announcement is coming weeks after the product was leaked. The smart air quality sensor can monitor PM2.5 air levels, temperature, and humidity in a room. It comes with a companion app and it can be integrated into the smart home ecosystem. Although specified for launch in April, the gadget is already on the shelves in Germany.

We saw leaked photos earlier this year of the IKEA air quality sensor. It can detect PM2.5 levels, dust, and ash particles that could be inhaled. It can also measure Total Volatile Organic Compound (TVOC) which estimates the volume of gaseous pollutants in smoking or cleaning products. The IKEA VINDSTYRKA detects humidity and room temperature. The readings are displayed on a screen with red, yellow, and green lights showing the air quality.

The VINDSTYRKA can be linked to the IKEA DIRIGERA hub. Furthermore, you can track the readings in the IKEA Home smart app and trigger other gadgets in the IKEA smart home ecosystem. The air purifier can be set to switch on when a certain PM2.5 threshold is reached in the room.

The VINDSTYRKA air purifier has been spotted on shelf listings in some locations in Germany. However, the product will be released in April 2023. There are still some details lacking for the IKEA air purifier. The IKEA VINDSTYRKA air purifier is priced in Europe at 39.99 Euros ($43). We expect more details, including pricing in other markets to surface as we inch closer to the launch.

Samsung Galaxy A14’s India Support Page Goes Live as It Gets BIS Certified

Since the past few months, Samsung has been rumored to be working on several A series smartphones. This includes the mid-range Galaxy A54, Galaxy A34, and a more affordable Galaxy A14. All three phones could launch sometime in March but there’s no official confirmation yet. While we wait, the Galaxy A14 has bagged India’s BIS certification and its support page has also gone live in the country, hinting at a nearby launch. Here are the details.

The Galaxy A14 has received the Bureau of Indian Standards certification (BIS) certification with the model number SM-A145FB/DS. For the unaware, this certificate is mandatory for any electronic device to be sold in India. In addition, the device’s support page is now live in the country, hinting that its launch might be near the corner.

Galaxy A14 will be debuting as the successor to last year’s Galaxy A14. It is expected to arrive as a mid-range smartphone with a 6.6-inch PLS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. It could pack an octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 processor, which may be paired with 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage.

For clicking pictures, the smartphone could get a triple-camera setup on the back with a 50MP main camera, 5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro unit. On the front, there may be a 13MP camera for selfies and video calls.

Fueled by a 5,000mAh battery unit, the smartphone could support 10W charging. The phone could feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and run Android 13-based One UI 5.0 out of the box. It could launch with a price tag of EUR 200 (around Rs 17,800).

China Launches Two Manned Spaceflights to Visit Space Station in 2023

China’s space program has made significant progress in recent years, with a number of successful missions and the establishment of its own space station. The country’s aerospace industry has been making rapid developments, and 2022 was a year of harvest for the industry. Looking forward to 2023, China is set to make further progress in its space program, with the launch of two manned spaceflight missions: Shenzhou 16 in May and Shenzhou 17 in October.

Shenzhou 16 and 17 Crews Set to Embark on Space Station Missions

According to reports, China will also launch the Tianzhou-6 cargo spacecraft this year, which will be followed by the two manned missions. The launch of these spacecraft will mark the first batch of missions after the completion of China’s space station, and the industry will enter a new stage of application and development.

The flight crew for Shenzhou 16 will be composed of three astronauts, who will be docked at the radial port of the core module to form a combination of three cabins and three ships. The mission will involve carrying out space science experiments and technical experiments, as well as routine work on platform management, astronaut support, and popular science education.

Similarly, the flight crew of Shenzhou 17, also comprising of three astronauts, will be docked with the forward port of the core cabin to form a combination of three cabins and three ships, and carry out similar tasks as Shenzhou 16. The main objectives of the two manned spaceflight missions are to carry out activities of astronauts and cargo airlocks, to continue space science and technical experiments, and to perform important routine work related to platform management, astronaut support, and popular science education.

The Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation has also announced plans to launch more than 60 space launch missions and more than 200 spacecraft in 2023. This ambitious plan is expected to break records and further demonstrate China’s capabilities in space exploration and technology.

China’s space program is making rapid progress, and the planned manned spaceflight missions in 2023 are a significant milestone in this regard. With the launch of the two manned missions, China will continue to conduct important scientific experiments and push the boundaries of space exploration. This also reflects the country’s commitment to enhancing its technological prowess and advancing its national interests.

Lenovo held a launch event on Wednesday in China where it announced the 2023 lineup of the Xiaoxin series. Among them, the Xiaoxin Pro 14 Ultrabook Core Edition has an upgraded 13th-generation Core H processor, a standard 1TB hard drive, and an optional RTX 3050 6GB standalone.

The Xiaoxin Pro 14 Ultrabook is equipped with a 14-inch screen with a 2.8K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate support. The display has the TUVRhineland eye protection certification and comes with DC dimming. The laptop features an all-metal body design that is both sleek and durable. The two fashionable colors, azure blue and letter gray add to the laptop’s aesthetic appeal.

One of the most notable features of this laptop is its upgraded 13th-gen Intel Core H processor. This new processor offers improved performance and energy efficiency compared to previous generations. Thus, the notebook is capable of handling demanding tasks with ease.

In addition, the optional RTX 3050 6GB standalone display provides even more power and performance for graphics-intensive applications like gaming, video editing, and 3D rendering. This makes the Xiaoxin Pro 14 Ultrabook 2023 a versatile and capable machine for a wide range of use cases.
