“Cheap” $99 AirPods Lite Release Date Revealed

According to noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the next generation of Apple‘s popular AirPods headphones could launch in the second half of 2024 or first half of 2025. The lineup is rumored to include a more affordable pair of AirPods priced at $99 and a new model of Apple’s over-ear AirPods Max headphones (released in 2020).

$99 AirPods could ship as early as next year alongside next-gen AirPods Max

The $99 AirPods would undercut the price of Apple’s current most affordable AirPods (its second-generation model) by $30. This move to reduce the price of the entry-level AirPods model mirrors what Apple did with its Apple TV lineup last year, when it launched a new set-top box that was $50 cheaper than its previously most affordable version.

Kuo previously reported that Apple would be launching a new USB-C charging case for all its AirPods models in 2023, around a year earlier than he’s now predicting the arrival of the next-gen headphones. However, it’s possible that Apple could refresh its AirPods charging cases in 2023 but leave the actual earbuds unchanged until 2024 or 2025.

In October, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that Apple could launch USB-C compatible lineup of AirPods, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max by 2024, and recently said that Apple’s AirPods lineup is unlikely to get any updates of note in 2023.

One More Problem! Google Pixel 7 Faces Video Call Issues

Google Pixel 7 series users are experiencing an endless stream of problems. The Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, which have been struggling with issues since its release, are now in the spotlight with video call errors. According to the latest reports, users are reporting poor video call quality. Here are the details…

Google Pixel 7 series users are reporting poor video call quality

Google Pixel 7 series users are reporting poor video call quality when using apps such as Google Meet, Telegram, Instagram, and WhatsApp. The specific issue being described as producing a very blurry and smeared image using both the front and rear cameras. The issue was initially thought to be caused by video quality limitations within Google Meet, but it has also been reported to affect other apps.

To corroborate the observation, a Redditor produced three screen captures from a Google Meet call, one from a Pixel 7, one from an iPad Pro 2018, and one from a Pixel 3XL, and the comparison showed that even the dated Pixel 3XL produced a much better picture quality than this year’s Pixel 7.

It is widely speculated that certain apps do optimize video for certain phone models, however, this doesn’t seem to be the same issue as it is more noticeable in Google Meet, an app created by Google, that if anything should be optimized to work better with Pixel phones. This issue has been reported since October, and it is hoped that Google will address it in a future software update. In the meantime, Google Pixel 7 series users may want to consider using alternative video call apps or devices to ensure better video call quality.

Best of CES 2023 – Wireless TVs, Urine Sensor, Smart Desk, & More

CES 2023 kicked off earlier this month, with brands across the globe exhibiting the latest and greatest in tech for the year. We saw a lot of announcements at the Las Vegas event across different categories like beauty products, health monitoring, cleaning, automobiles, smart TVs and even VR. Now that the event has come to an end, let’s look at some of the most interesting announcements from the event this year.

So these were some of our favorite products unveiled at CES 2023.

LG’s Massive 97-inch Wireless OLED TV

One of the biggest highlights of CES 2023 was LG’s massive 97-inch wireless TV.

Signature OLED TV M3

Sure, you might have seen wireless TVs in the past, but LG managed to take things up a notch with high bandwidth streaming to a massive 97-inch OLED panel. The final setup, which leaves the large TV with almost no wires (you still have one power cable), is ideal for a minimalistic home. The streaming box, which can be placed up to 30 feet away from the TV, can stream content in 4K 120Hz resolution without any lag or interference from objects in between.

Withings U-Scan

Withings U-Scan Video

Health centric brands are looking for smarter ways to analyze health data and make recommendations. And the Withings U-Scan takes a unique approach to gathering this data and telling your body’s health metrics.

The U-Scan is an oval-shaped sensor that attaches to your toilet bowl to analyze your urine sample. Urine has always been a very important source of information for doctors. BMW COLOR-CHANGING CAR

BMW i Vision DEE

BMW has been working on a color changing car concept for the past few years. But this year, it seems to have finally managed to improve its concept by adding the ability to shift between 32 different solid colors.

Unlike last year’s model which could only switch between Black, White, and Gray, this year’s i Vision Dee can switch between a total of 32 solid colors. Users can even mix up different colors, thanks to the 240 E Ink e-paper segments on the car, all of which can be controlled independently. Apart from its unique color changing appearance, the concept comes with AI-powered virtual assistants and a new-age full-windshield heads-up display.

The BMW i Vision Dee does not have a tentative release date or even production timeline. But, BMW is clearly making progress in bringing this technology closer to market release.

Acer eKinekt BD 3

Standing desks are cool, but what’s cooler in 2023? Well, Acer thinks working out while working on your laptop is the next big thing in desk designs.

If you thought you didn’t have enough time to workout because of your long working hours, Acer has got you covered with its Acer eKinekt BD 3 desk. This unique desk allows you to cycle while working on your laptop, allowing you to burn some crucial calories without interrupting your schedule.

What’s cooler is that your hard work doesn’t go to waste because the desk converts the kinetic energy generated while pedaling to charge your gadgets using two Type-A and one Type-C ports on board.

Lumus AR Lenses

Companies have long been striving to develop AR glasses that are non-intrusive and bulky, and Lumus seems to be pretty close to this end goal. The company unveiled the Z-Lens 2D waveguide tech at CES 2023 which offers a 2K x 2K resolution AR glasses in vibrant colors and a bright heads-up display in the size of your regular glasses. What’s more, you can even add prescription lens on these glasses.

One of the biggest highlight of these waveguide glasses is that it’s practically indistinguishable from a regular pair of glasses from the outside. This will definitely help in a wider adoption of AR tech in the market.

So these were some of the best products we saw at CES 2023 this year.

Do you think any other product that stood out at CES this year? Let us know in the comments sections below.

The Apple Watch May Be Banned in The United States!

Apple Watch Series 6 and later models are facing a new patent crisis. According to the latest lawsuit filed in the United States, Apple has used the patent for products that measure oxygen levels in the blood without permission. If the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) finds Masimo justified, the Apple Watch may be banned in the United States. Here are the details…

U.S. judge rules Apple Watch infringed Masimo’s pulse oximeter patent

A U.S. judge has ruled that Apple has infringed on one of Masimo Corp’s pulse oximeter patents by importing and selling certain Apple Watches with light-based pulse oximetry functionality and components. The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) will now consider whether to implement an import ban on these Apple Watches.

Masimo, a medical device maker, claims that Apple had used its own patents without permission. Apple has said they respectfully disagree with the decision and look forward to a full review by the Commission. The pulse oximeter feature in Apple Watch Series 6 and later models allows the user to track the oxygen levels in their blood.

However, Masimo claims that Apple has used its own patents without permission. The two companies are now in a legal dispute over the Watch Series 6 and later models. Masimo has accused Apple of stealing their patents related to the pulse oximeter, and has taken legal action against the tech giant. In the case heard at the USITC, the judge has ruled that Apple has infringed on one of Masimo’s patents.

The USITC has yet to decide whether to ban the import of Apple Watch models that track oxygen levels in the blood. However, Masimo CEO Joe Kiani has stated that this decision will help restore justice in the market. Kiani also labeled Apple as a company that steals innovations from other companies and makes a profit.

Although Apple has not yet made an official statement on the matter, it is reported that they plan to appeal the case. It should be noted that the Watch Series 6 and other models have yet to be banned. A recent claim has also been made that the oxygen level sensor in the Watch is not effective in people with dark skin. According to the claim in the case, devices of this type have been facing difficulties in measuring blood oxygen levels based on skin color for a long time.

Samsung Galaxy M14 5G to launch soon with 25W fast charging, spotted on FCC

Samsung is apparently gearing up to launch a new Galaxy M series smartphone soon. The company had announced the Galaxy M04 just last month, and it appears that the Galaxy M14 5G is the next handset to be unveiled.

 Samsung

As the name suggests, the Galaxy M14 5G is likely to be the successor to the Galaxy M13 5G. The South Korean tech giant’s upcoming smartphone was recently spotted getting certification on FCC, which also hints at some of its specifications. So looking at the online database, we can see that the new Galaxy M series device carries the model number SM-M146B/DSN. Furthermore, the Galaxy M14 5G will come with support for 25W fast charging, although the battery parameters are still unknown.

Unfortunately, this was all the information revealed by this online listing. However, the budget grade handset was also spotted on GeekBench prior to this, which offers us a better look at its internal hardware. The Galaxy M14 5G will be equipped with the Exynos 1330 processor that will be paired with at least 4GB of RAM. While key specifications are still at large, we can look at the previous generation model for some speculations.

Samsung

The Galaxy M13 5G had launched with a MediaTek Dimesnity 700 SoC and sported a 6.5 inch HD+ LCD panel that offer 90Hz high refresh rate. This display also had an Infinity V notch with a 5 megapixel selfie camera. Meanwhile, the rear featured a 50 megapixel triple camera and a 2 megapixel depth sensor. So we can expect a similar camera setup on the back, as well as a display of an identical size. Being a budget model, it is unlikely that it will come with an AMOLED display and would stick to an LCD panel with a high refresh rate.

Samsung sees rising yields on its 3nm chip production line

Samsung has been working on perfecting its advanced 3nm process technology and it seems like that production yield results for its most cutting edge chip fabrication line has almost been perfected.

Back in 2022, the South Korean tech giant was the first to kick off mass production of 3nm chips. Around this period, the company’s rate of production yield was in the range of 10 percent. Now, it appears that the first generation of 3nm process nodes have reached a “perfect” level of production yield, as per a source close to the matter. The report also claimed that the Samsung Foundry had begun taking orders from fabless clients to begin mass production of its most advanced chips earlier this week.

Samsung

According to the source, “We are now developing second-generation 3nm chips without delay.” For those unaware, the production yield is basically how many chips remain on the wafer and are key to the profitability of the semiconductor process node. Notably, the 3nm process technology is all the first process node where Samsung applied its first generation GAA structure transistors. Simply put, it is a method on improving the chip performance and energy efficiency.

On the other hand, the world’s largest contract chipmaker TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) employs its FinFET technology for the 3nm process, which entered mass production just last month. But while TSMC was months behind Samsung, the former also has Apple as one of its major customers.

Google Chrome for Android Takes Multitasking to The Next Level With Instance Switcher

Google Chrome users on Android should soon be getting a valuable upgrade to the browser called “Instance Switcher”. This feature allows users to have multiple Chrome windows open simultaneously, This could be a significant productivity boost for users, who can now have different windows for different tasks, such as “work” and “home” or for cross-referencing while researching.

One of the key benefits of this feature is that it allows users to run two versions of Chrome simultaneously and interact with both simultaneously via split-screen or by placing one instance over the other. This is useful for those who work from home, as they can now have separate windows for work and home tasks. Additionally, it allows users to watch a YouTube video while reading around the subject without switching between tabs.

This feature is similar to the “open new window” button on Safari for iPad and could be especially useful on the best Android tablets. However, the split-screen may be a bit small on some phones. While this feature may not be revolutionary, it is a handy addition to Chrome on mobile and desktop, showing that Google is not resting on its laurels.

This follows other recent time-saving features, such as pinned tabs and the secondary search window added in late 2022. The Instance Switcher feature can be found by tapping the three dots menu on Chrome and selecting “Manage Windows,” although there has been no official announcement from Google yet.

Even as a market leader it is good to see Google not resting on its laurels and adding new time-saving features to Chrome on mobile and desktop like the pinned tabs and the secondary search window added in late 2022.

The OnePlus Nord Buds 2, which could be released shortly, has appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards with the model number E508A. There is no additional information regarding the earbuds in the BIS listing. However, a few further certifications have produced some additional information about the earphones. On the CQC certification website, the Nord Buds 2 was spotted, and it was discovered that the charging case would have a Type-C charging connector. While the earphones may be capable of 1.5W charging, the casing will at least handle 4.5W.

The earphones have also been seen on the IMDA certification page, albeit there wasn’t much information available there. There are still many questions surrounding the impending Nord Buds 2.

Taking a look at the Nord Buds, the earbuds feature a 12.4mm titanium dynamic driver. According to manufacturer claims, each earbud’s 41mAh battery can play music for up to 7 hours. The case adds 30 hours of additional juice. With a flat stem construction and an IP55 rating for sweat and dust protection, the earphones are durable.

Another Apple iPhone 15 Pro leak hints at physical buttons being replaced

We have already covered various reports regarding the Apple iPhone 15 series that is set to launch later this year. However, prior to its release, another report has hinted at some of its major upcoming changes.

For those unaware, the iPhone 15 Pro series is expected to bring various major design changes, marking the first notable overhaul in a while for the Cupertino based giant’s iPhone series. Similar to how the brand removed headphone jacks in the past, it appears that the next move is to remove all forms oh physical button on the devices. Known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had previously claimed that the iPhone 15 models will ditch the physical buttons for a solid state button design.

Apple

This would basically mimic the feel of an actual button without actually having these moving parts. Now, he has reiterated this claim as well. Apparently, the company plans on replacing these physical buttons like volume rockers and power buttons on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models. In a new tweet, Kuo stated that these solid state buttons will be equipped with a Taptic Engines, which would enable them to offer a physical button like force feedback.

Meaning, it would feel like a real button is being pressed. Furthermore, he also revealed that Cirrus Logic is the primary supplier for this new technology and is making the Taptic Engine’s controller IC for solid state buttons. If these design changes are well received by users, Kuo believes that Apple might expand it to other high end products in the future.

Poco X5 Pro specs

Considering that the Poco X5 Pro is a rebranded Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition, it will likely pack a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC, combined with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, will most likely power the smartphone. The device’s 5,000mAh battery might enable 67W fast charging.

The Poco smartphone might have a 16MP front-facing camera. While for photography, it might have a triple back camera array with a 108MP main sensor as its spotlight. An 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro camera are anticipated to be used in addition to the primary sensor.
