New video from Korea showcasing LG’s cancelled rollable smartphone appears

The LG rollable smartphone was one of the casualties of the Korean OEM’s decision to exit the smartphone market. The innovative phone had been under development when LG pulled the plug on smartphone manufacturing. The units were reportedly sold out to employees subsequently.LG rollable smartphone

Since then, a number of videos have showcased the smartphone but the latest one provides more stunning aspects of the device. The video was published by a South Korean YouTube channel and further highlights the uniquely designed smartphone. The packaging of the device was unique, containing a charger, a USB cable, and some paperwork.

It is unclear why LG did not roll out the smartphone before exiting the market. It features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 chipset with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The rollable has a 6.8-inch flexible POLED front display and a 4,500mAh battery. The front display is expandable into a 7.4-inch screen.

The LG Rollable has touch-sensitive controls on the left edge to turn on the display and adjust the volume in place of physical buttons. It has a 64MP primary camera with OIS and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera. A circular fingerprint scanner sits underneath the main camera at the back. The video also highlighted the workings of the rollable display. It can be expanded or contracted seamlessly with the swipe of two fingers. The changing form factor of the rollable is also accommodated with its UI also transitioning.

The YouTube video clearly highlights the unique features of the LG Rollable which is creaseless, unlike foldables. However, the rollable section is less solid than the rest of the display. It also easily flexes when pressed. The stunning design is open for other OEMs as LG has already closed the lid on it.

Vivo X Fold+ AnTuTu score reveals massive performance lead over other foldables

Earlier today, Vivo confirmed that the upcoming Vivo X Fold+ will launch on September 26th. The device will mostly be similar to the earlier launched Vivo X Fold, except for the fact that it will be powered by the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

Vivo X Fold+

Ahead of the launch, the device has appeared on the AnTuTu benchmark database, giving us the first look at its performance. According to the listing, the Vivo X Fold+ (model number V2229A) has 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The device is also revealed to run on Android 12 out of the box.

Vivo X Fold+ AnTuTu

Coming to the benchmarks, the device gets an overall score of 1,100,438, which is not the highest. However, it is very close to the top spots that are currently occupied by gaming smartphones like the Rog Phone 6, the iQOO 9T, and the Red Magic 7. Comparing it to other foldables, the X Fold+ edges out the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 by around 50,000 points, and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 by around 115,000 points. This will make the X Fold+ the most powerful foldable smartphone once it launches on September 26.

Vivo X Fold+ specs (rumored)

The X Fold+ is said to borrow many features from the X Fold, like the 8.03-inch foldable display and a 6.53-inch cover screen, both of which will offer a 120Hz refresh rate.

Vivo X Fold+

Under the hood, the device will feature a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It will also have a 4,730mAh battery with 80W of wired charging and 50W of wireless charging.

For optics, the smartphone will have a quad camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 12-megapixel portrait camera with 2x optical zoom, and an 8-megapixel periscope lens with 5x optical zoom. Up front, we can expect a 16-megapixel selfie camera.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro is more popular than the iPhone 14: Report

Apple had just recently announced its highly anticipated iPhone 14 series, which has begun sales all across the globe. However, it seems that the more expensive iPhone 14 Pro models are much more popular in the market, when compared to the base iPhone 14.

The news arrives from a tweet from known analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo. He stated that the Cupertino based giant is planning on asking its suppliers to move away production capacity from the vanilla iPhone 14 model to the more expensive iPhone 14 Pro versions. It is making the shift due to the latter seeing higher demand, so raising their production should help raise sales in the fourth and final quarter of this year.

As of right now, Apple has apparently told Foxconn to raise iPhone 14 Pro series production, to increase the ASP (Average Selling Price) of its latest iPhone lineup. In other words, the analyst is expecting the increased shipments and sales to raise the ASP of the 2022 iPhones by around 10 percent. For those unaware, the brand had announced the iPhone 14 series during its Far Out event, with the new models featuring various improvements over the previous generation iPhone 13.

Iphone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro

The new series included a brand new iPhone 14 Plus, which replaced the mini model while the Pro variants also brought a major change in design on the front. Meanwhile, the rear on these higher end variants also saw a bump in camera specifications as well. Interestingly, this news isn’t completely surprising since the Pro models in the iPhone 13 and even the iPhone 12 series performed better in the global market, which is also something Apple clearly recognizes.

Google Pixel 7 Pro pre-orders starts on the same day as its launch event

Google is planning on launching its latest flagship Pixel 7 series for the global market soon. The lineup includes the new base Pixel 7 and the higher end Pixel 7 Pro models. The launch is believed to be set for October 6, and the pre-orders for the more expensive variant will also be going on pre-order on the same date.

Google
Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro

As per the Search Engine giant’s promotional video, it was revealed that the new Pixel 7 Pro will go on pre-order starting from October 6. In other words, the company is planning on making the device available on the same day it gets officially announced in the market. While this doesn’t sound like notable news, there are some manufacturers that typically delay the pre-orders like Apple.

The Cupertino based giant had announced the iPhone 14 series back on September 7, but the pre orders did not begin by September 9. Furthermore, the original promotional video only refers to the Pixel 7 Pro specifically. However, it is believed that the entire Pixel 7 series will be available for pre-orders during the same date. But, we will have to wait for the official September 7 announcement to know all of the details.

Google

Keep in mind that the vanilla Pixel 7 model might be made available in the market a bit later, since smartphone makers also roll out their latest launches in a staggered manners as well at times. An example being Apple making the iPhone 14 Plus available for pre orders on the same day as the rest, but did not its delivery.

Xiaomi 12T Pro spotted on GeekBench, with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 & 8GB RAM

The Xiaomi 12T series of smartphones is expected to be announced soon for the global markets. However, prior to its release, the higher end 12T Pro was just spotted on a known benchmarking platform, which revealed some of its key specifications.

Xiaomi

For those unaware, the Xiaomi 12T series is an upcoming flagship grade smartphone lineup. Models from this series have already been spotted on various certification websites, and now, the latest sighting was on GeekBench. Looking at this listing, we can see the Xiaomi 12T Pro’s performance as well as its RAM, processor, and OS version apart from its scores. For single core, the device managed to achieve a score of 1300, while the multi core tests had it receive 4061 points.

Notably, the 12T Pro is also rumored to be the Chinese tech giant’s first handset that will feature a large 200 megapixel primary camera sensor on the back. The GeekBench listing also showcases the device carrying the model number 22081212UG. It is also listed with Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which is paired with the Adreno 630 GPU. Apart from this, the GeekBench results also showcased that the device will have at least one model that features 8GB of RAM.

Xiaomi 12T Pro back

Although, it is highly likely that Xiaomi will launch the 12T Pro with a 12GB RAM variant as well. Lastly, the listing also reveals that the smartphone will run on Android 12 OS out of the box, which means it will feature the brand’s proprietary MIUI 13 custom skin. This is all the information shared on the benchmarking platform, so stick around for more updates regarding this matter.

The OPPO A77s, which has a CPH2473 model number, has been approved by multiple certification platforms, such as India’s BIS, Thailand’s NBTC, EU declaration database, Indonesian Telecom certification, TUV Rheinland, and China’s CQC. It has been found through one of the certifications that the device is backed by a 5,000mAh battery, which carries support for 33W fast charging.

The leaked specifications of the OPPO A77s suggest that it will certainly be priced above the OPPO A77, which is priced at Rs 15,490 (~$194). The device appears to be priced around Rs 17,000 (~$213). Unfortunately, there is no information available on the other specs of the A77s.
