Nokia T10 teardown video reveals its polycarbonate body & internals

A disassembly video of the Nokia T10 has revealed several aspects of the device including its polycarbonate body. The video posted by Techno Rabin shows that the T10 can be easily disassembled with a few tools including a heat block. The polycarbonate body holds the 8-inch HD screen with glue in between.Nokia T10 tablet

The removal of the screen allows for straightforward access to the battery, motherboard, and other internal components of the tablet. There is some concern about its polycarbonate body although an aluminum covering is also a possible addition. The tablet could retain the sturdiness of its predecessor. Nokia has carved a rugged identity for itself and would hope to sustain it with the T10.

The Nokia T10 was launched last week together with other Nokia offerings. It is a smaller version of the Nokia T20 with 4GB/64GB of RAM/ storage. It is powered by the Unisoc Tiger T606 chip and comes with a 5,250mAh battery. The device supports 10W fast charging and connectivity is via WiFi or 4G cellular. Nothing Phone (1) to soon get Paranoid Android Sapphire custom ROM

Last week, Nothing launched their hype beast of a smartphone called the Nothing Phone (1). The smartphone debuted with a decent spec sheet and unique features like the Glyph interface, making it an eye-catcher in the mid-range segment.

Nothing also released the kernel sources and the entire device tree making it convenient for third-party developers to create custom ROMs for the smartphone. Now, one of the most recognized names in the custom ROM development scene, Paranoid Android, has announced that they will soon release a custom ROM for the Nothing Phone (1).

Considering Paranoid Android’s track record so far, we can expect a smooth, stable, and feature-rich ROM coming in the future. However, considering that the device just launched last week, the devs will likely take at least a few weeks before putting out an alpha (or beta) build of the Paranoid Android Sapphire based on Android 12.

The custom ROM and modding scene are currently in decline with OnePlus being the last brand promoting custom development. With Carl Pei spearheading Nothing, the company has taken the same approach that OnePlus took when Pei was part of the company. This means that unlocking the Nothing Phone’s bootloader won’t void its warranty.

US needs another $3 billion to remove Huawei & ZTE gear from its networks

Ever since the FCC designated Huawei and ZTE as national threats to security, the US has been working on removing their telecom equipment from its network. However, it appears that the US telecom regulator would still need a few more billion dollars.

Huawei

According to a Reuters report, the Chairwoman of the Federal Communications Commission, Jessica Rosenworcel, stated in a letter to Senator Maria Cantwell that “To fund all reasonable and supported cost estimates the Reimbursement Program will require 4.98 billion US Dollars, reflecting a current shortfall of 3.08 billion US Dollars.” For those unaware, the country is looking to remove equipment from the two major telecommunication equipment makers after the FCC flagged them as threats to US national security.

Any telecom operators failing to remove networking gear from these Chinese brands would be removed from an 8.3 billion US Dollar government fund to buy new replacement equipment. But so far, the replacement policy has only managed to appropriate 1.9 billion US Dollars, which has raised concerns regarding how effectively the removal program is being carried out.

Huawei

Jessica Rosenworcel further added that “Absent an additional appropriation, the Commission will apply the prioritization scheme Congress specified.” She also said that the Commission will begin the reimbursement claims “as allocations are issued in the coming days.” At the moment, the companies are also not required to complete the rip and replace process of networking equipment until they receive their reimbursement.

Apple iPhone 14 Max reportedly facing supply chain issues

Apple recently began trial production of the upcoming iPhone 14 series, with plans to start mass production next month. However, some analysts believe the outlook is bleak. With manufacturing for the reported but unsubstantiated iPhone 14 Max model now said to be behind schedule, the upcoming iPhone might not even escape the material shortage due to increasing global inflation.

According to rumors, the iPhone 14 will have four different variants, much like the iPhone 13 did. However, it appears that there will be two large-sized models instead of just one, namely the iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max, making component security more difficult than in previous years. According to renowned display supply expert Ross Young, this requirement is why production is running behind schedule.

Young recently reported through a tweet (only available for super followers) that supplies of the iPhone 14 Max’s display panel are “still way behind through August,” while the Pro versions are unaffected. Young reports that supply levels are more than three times more than on the normal Max phones, and those displays appear to be in good condition.

iPhone 14 Pro

Notably, the standard iPhone 14 Max is slowing things down because it has a different display than the Pro model. Apple’s ProMotion, the company’s adjustable refresh rate technology, is used in the Pro models. This indicates that the iPhone 14 Pro Max will have a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, whilst the normal Max will remain at 60Hz. However, there isn’t an official delay for the iPhone 14 Max.

Apple has certainly seen several ups and downs throughout this journey of creating the next-gen iPhone. Henceforth, it appears that the tech giant had to make some adjustments in order to meet the deadline. Back in May, when Apple decided to use a more expensive front-facing camera than on previous smartphones, it was reported that the company was experiencing supply chain issues.

iPhone 14 dummies
iPhone 14 Series prototypes

Apple’s rationale for producing two large-format variants (Max and Pro Max) is reportedly to boost its international sales in nations like China, where bigger-screen smartphones tend to dominate the market.

Elon Musk aims to block Twitter’s fast track trial request

Elon Musk has filed a new motion last week that aims on blocking Twitter‘s attempts at a fast track trial. This trial follows after the social media platform sued the billionaire for terminating the 44 billion US Dollar deal.

Elon Musk Featured

The Tesla CEO’s lawyers have filed papers with the Delaware Chancery Court. These documents stated that Twitter has made an “unjustifiable request” for an expedited trial after it turned a rushed merger into a trial in just two months. For those unaware, Elon Musk pulled out of the multi billion dollar merger deal after he claimed that Twitter lied about the “spam bot” issue as well as failed to provide accurate data regarding this matter.

Following this move from Musk, the popular microblogging website filed a lawsuit claiming that Elon violated the deal for the acquisition. Thus, the social media giant is now requesting the trial to begin in September since the merger agreement is set to terminate officially on October 25. In the filing, Musk stated that “Twitter’s sudden request for warp speed after two months of foot dragging and obfuscation is its latest tactic to shroud the truth about spam accounts long enough to railroad defendants into closing.”

Elon Musk

According to a Reuters report, “Musk’s lawyers argued the dispute over false and spam accounts is fundamental to Twitter’s value and extremely fact- and expert-intensive.” Furthermore, they have also claimed that it would also take a long while for discovery and requested that the trial take place sometime around or after February 13 of next year.
