POCO
Redmi AirDots 3 Pro Genshin Impact Edition

The special edition of the truly wireless earbuds was recently spotted receiving the Bluetooth SIG certification. In other words, its launch might be imminent and with the F4 GT announcement being just around the corner, it won’t be a surprise if the Chinese smartphone maker released both products together. The earbuds were spotted on the Bluetooth SIG website carrying the model number TWSEJ01ZM, which also hints that it is a rebranded version of the same limited edition model of another earbud from Redmi.

For those unaware, Xiaomi had launched the Redmi AirDots 3 Pro back in May 2021. Furthermore, it even released a Redmi AirDots 3 Pro Genshin Impact Edition earlier this year. Apart from special additions in its design, the limited edition model was identical to the AirDots 3 Pro. So, we can already make some educated guesses regarding the POCO Buds Pro Genshin Impact Edition’s specifications. It will likely house a 9mm audio driver, support active noise cancellation up to 35 decibels, and even offer a transparency mode as well.

Redmi Airdots 3 Pro Genshin Impact

Other features include Bluetooth 5.2, a dedicated gaming mode with 69ms latency, a triple microphone setup for the environmental noise cancellation feature, IPX4 water resistance rating, gesture controls, and more. The new special edition wireless earphone might also pack the same 35mAh battery pack for each earbud that offers 6 hours of audio playback and another 28 hours of total playback from its 470mAh battery pack on the charging case. Keep in mind that it is still too early to tell, and this is just speculation at the moment, so take this report with a pinch of salt.

HP may be working on 17 inch laptop with foldable OLED display: Report

HP is apparently planning on launching a new 17 inch foldable laptop. The latest rumor is that the company working on a laptop with a flexible OLED display and is sourcing a cover for this screen from a South Korean supplier.

HP

According to TheElec report, the known PC maker is supplying the thin ad flexible polyimide (PI) film that will cover the 17 inch flexible OLED panel for its foldable laptops from South Korean conglomerate, SK IE Technology (SKIET). For those unaware, foldable panels that brands employ usually consist of either UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) or the PI film. The former is prominent in Samsung Galaxy Z series devices. But it seems that Hewlett-Packard’s foldable laptop will favor the latter.

As per recent rumors, the foldable laptop will sport a 17 inch panel that has a 4K resolution. Furthermore, in its compact form, it will measure just 11 inches and can unfold to its full size of 17 inch. So, it’s likely that the display technology is from LG, which showcased larger sized bendable OLEDs back at the CES 2022 event. In other words, there’s a chance that it might also come with a stylus and touchscreen support.

TheElec found that SKIET and LG will be shipping around 10,000 flexible OLED displays and protective films to HP. The limited quantity is likely due to the niche market that the foldable device targets. Meaning, it is probably going to be quite expensive as well. But as of right now, we have no news regarding its pricing or even possible specifications. So stick around for more updates.

Okinawa dealership in flames after Praise Pro e-scooters catch fire, company issues recall

The track record of EVs (Electric Vehicles) in India isn’t looking too good with all the recent fire related accidents. And now, another major incident has just surfaced as an entire Okinawa Autotech dealership got burnt down, which is believed to be caused by an EV inside the store.

Okinawa

According to a 91Mobiles report, this incident has caused the company to issue a recall for its Praise Pro electric scooters. Apparently, the reason for the recall is under a fault check up and redressal service. The brand had issued a recall for 3,215 units of its EVs on 16th April 2022. The units were the Okinawa Praise Pro e-scooters, which are apparently facing an issue with their battery pack, which caused the fire related accident.

For those unaware, three of the company’s e-scooters caught fire back in October 2021. This ended up causing injuries to two people. On the other hand, the fire accident in the dealership was even more intense, but it remains to be seen how extensive the damage really was. But looking at videos shared on social media, we can assume that it is unlikely that anything was left uncharred on the inside.

The accident might have been caused by just one faulty battery but its flames ended up engulfing the entire dealership. As of right now, it was reported that there were no casualties and the fire was put out eventually. This marks another case of EVs and a fire accident in India. There could be many reasons for this accident like the poor design or thermal management system for the battery. But we have no way of knowing for sure at the moment.

Apple iPhone 14 design & camera bump size showcased in leaked molds

Over the last couple of weeks, we have reported on various leaks and rumors regarding the 2022 Apple iPhone lineup. And now, another new leak has just surfaced, which showcases the design of the entire iPhone 14 series.

Apple

According to a MacRumors report, the latest leak comes from images of iPhone 14 series molds that showcase the design and the camera bump size of the four models. The report further added that these molds were found on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging website). So, they are likely to be molds used for third party iPhone protective covers rather than the ones used for the actual smartphones’ production.

Looking at these molds, the most noticeable aspect is undoubtedly the lack of an iPhone mini model. Apart from that, we can also observe changes in the iPhones’ sizes in 2022. This year, the Cupertino based giant is apparently getting rid of the 5.4 inch iPhone model, which did not perform too well in the smartphone market. So due to the poor sales, the company is now leaning toward larger iPhone sizes. Thus, the four molds we see include the 6.1 inch iPhone 14, 6.1 inch iPhone 14 Pro, 6.7 inch iPhone 14 Max, and the 6.7 inch iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro

Another notable change in design with the 2022 iPhones is the camera bump. Apparently, the camera bump sizes for the entire lineup will be taller than the previous generation, the iPhone 13 lineup. But for the most part, the iPhone 14 series will feature a similar design, with flat edges and rounded corners. On the other hand, the front is expected to finally replace the large notch in favor of a circular punch hole cutout.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 S Pen mass production has begun

Samsung is reportedly working on the Galaxy Z Fold4 foldable phone. Like last year, the company may unveil it in August this year. Rumors are rife that this year’s foldable phone from Samsung will accompany an S Pen stylus. A new leak has revealed that the S Pen for the Galaxy Z Fold4 has entered mass production.

It is speculated that the Galaxy Z Fold4 will be the first foldable smartphone to arrive with a dedicated slot for storing the stylus. Even if the device does not feature a storage slot, it is heavily rumored to carry support for S Pen. According to tipster Mukul Sharma, the serial production of the S Pen for the Galaxy Z Fold4 has begun in several European and Asian markets.

Last year, the rumor mill speculated that the Galaxy Z Fold3 would be the first Samsung foldable to support the S Pen stylus. While the S Pen Pro and the S Pen Fold Edition are compatible with the Galaxy Z Fold3, the regular S Pen does not work on the device. It is unclear whether the Galaxy Z Fold4 will carry support for the regular S Pen.

It was reported last month that Samsung could be working on a “Super UTG” for the Galaxy Z Fold4. It is expected to offer a stronger surface for using the S Pen. Hence, there is a possibility that the regular S Pen may work on the Z Fold4. It is advisable to wait for further reports to know whether the device will have a dedicated S Pen holster.

Previous reports have claimed that the Galaxy Z Fold4 will come with a single hinge design for better durability. It is also speculated to feature an upgraded camera system. The Z Fold4 is rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.

Google’s upcoming Pixel 6a smartphone may not come with Motion Mode feature

Google is gearing up to launch a new budget smartphone — Google Pixel 6a. As the name indicates, the device will be a watered-down model of the Pixel 6 and the successor to the Pixel 5a smartphone.

Ahead of the official announcement of the Google Pixel 6a smartphone, there have been a few leaks, revealing some key details about the upcoming device. Now, a new report has shed more light on the camera features.

Google Pixel 6a CAD renders by 91mobiles/Steve Hemmerstoffer

The latest report claims that the upcoming Pixel 6a will lack the Motion Mode for the camera department. The feature adds blurs to the moving part and action pan, which applies a blur effect to the background.

A report coming from XDA-Developers indicates that the code for displaying Pixel Tips about Motion Mode has excluded a device codenamed “bluejay,” which is said to be the identifier for the Pixel 6a.

The reason behind excluding this feature from the device could be because of the lack of a 50-megapixel camera sensor on the Pixel 6a as it needs a higher-resolution sensor to work. The phone is expected to have a 12.2-megapixel primary sensor which it has been using for the past few years on its Pixel A-series smartphones.

Based on the information leaked so far, it appears that the Google Pixel 6a will continue to have the same design as its predecessor, featuring a 6.2-inch display. Internally, the device will come powered by the Google Tensor SoC, which is powering the Pixel 6 series phones.

Samsung is one of the handful of smartphone manufacturers globally that makes its own chipsets. However, unlike Apple, the South Korean giant also uses chips from Qualcomm and MediaTek for its smartphones.

But it appears that the company is going to make a change in its strategy for the usage of processors in its smartphones as it aims to increase the usage of its own Exynos chips.

Samsung Exynos

As per the new report, Samsung Electronics is now shifting its focus toward the Galaxy A-series and Galaxy M-series smartphones. With that, the company hints at shifting its focus from developed countries to emerging markets.

The report adds that as a part of that strategy, the South Korean giant is also set to increase the usage of its own chipsets in mid-range and low-end smartphones.

In line with that, the company has used the Samsung Exynos 850 processor in the newly launched Galaxy A13 4G smartphone in the North American market. The Samsung Galaxy A13 5G has already been launched, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor.

As the name clearly indicates, the Galaxy A13 is the successor of the Galaxy A12, which shipped 51.8 million units in the year 2021. With that, it became the world’s best-selling smartphone model and the first smartphone ever to sell more than 50 million units.

The Samsung Galaxy A13 was powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 processor and thus it played a major role in the rise of MediaTek’s market share. With Galaxy A13 4G powered by Samsung Exynos 850 chip and 5G model of the smartphone powered by MediaTek chip, the company is eyeing to increase the market share of Exynos chips.

Realme C30 Series to launch soon in India with design and performance as the focus, says Madhav Sheth

Realme’s C-series this year saw a much-needed design revamp. The recent entrants in the C-lineup of the phones from the brand are Realme C31 and Realme C35. Both phones, despite following the same higher-end models’ rear design cues, offer better looks than their predecessors. Realme’s Madhav Sheth has now revealed that there’s another addition in the C-series due for launch, that will bring a similar or better design and become a differentiator in the segment.

Realme C30 Series is in the works!

Sheth spoke to folks at BGR.in in their latest interview that sheds light on the yet-to-release Realme C30. And as per him, this is a series, meaning that we might see the Realme C30 and its variants getting released soon in India. As to what we should expect? Sheth hinted at a better-looking design, probably a continuation of the strings pulled by the Realme C31/C35’s tweaked back design.

In addition to the design, the C30 will also bring performance improvements and be a differentiator in the entry-level market. Since Realme C30, as the moniker suggests, will be positioned somewhere near the C31, we expect the pricing to be aggressive.

“What we have understood from our past experience is that design has been the core fundamental pillar along with performance. With Realme, performance and design are the core fundamental pillars. If you see our new C35 series, the design has been liked by people a lot. So, we are trying to differentiate a lot of things by design and in terms of performance in the entry-level segment”, said Sheth.

There are no explicit details as to its specs or price range, but we expect entry-level hardware like the C35’s UNISOC SoC to power the device. Nothing is confirmed by Sheth regarding the phone’s specs, but we should see some leaks as we move closer to the release.
