OnePlus Nord Buds 4 specs revealed ahead of June 25 launch

OnePlus is giving its popular Nord audio lineup a fresh update with the new Nord Buds 4. They’re packing in some useful features, like strong noise cancellation and long battery life, while still keeping things affordable.

The company has now officially shared the key specs ahead of the June 25 launch in India. The big highlight is the up to 52dB active noise cancellation (ANC), which should do a solid job blocking out noise whether you’re commuting, working, or just trying to focus. Inside, the earbuds pack 12mm titanium-plated dynamic drivers that promise punchy bass and clear audio for music, movies, and calls.

Each earbud is super lightweight at just 4.3g and has an ergonomic design meant for comfortable long sessions. They also support 3D spatial audio and game spatial sound effects, which should make listening feel more immersive. You’ll be able to pick them up in two cool colors: Astral Teal (a nice cyan shade) and the classic Stellar Black.

Ugreen launches a 12.5mm-thin 45W GaN charger that’s smaller than you’d expect

Gallium nitride (GaN) technology has steadily reduced the size of our everyday power bricks over the last few years, but Ugreen’s latest release pushes the form factor even further into the realm of pocketability. The company has just launched the Nexode Air 45W Ice Chip charger in China. Priced at 109 yuan ($16), its primary selling point is an ultra-thin profile that measures a mere 12.5mm thick.

The exact dimensions are 62.2 x 42.74 x 12.5 mm, and it weighs about 54 grams. Ugreen says this design makes it roughly 58% smaller by volume than its previous 45W chargers. It has a flat, rectangular shape with foldable prongs, allowing it to slide into a pants pocket or the front pouch of a laptop sleeve without creating a noticeable bulge. The device comes in a silver-gray finish, with a single USB-C port located on the bottom edge.

That single port outputs up to 45W, which is enough to fast-charge modern phones, tablets, and smaller electronics like handheld gaming PCs. According to Ugreen, the charger can get an iPhone 17 Pro from zero to 67% battery in about half an hour. It supports standard fast-charging protocols and operates on a 100-240V input range, meaning it can be used internationally with a basic plug adapter.

Packing 45W into a chassis this small usually raises concerns about heat, which is where the Ice Chip name comes from. Ugreen says it is managing thermals using a high-density internal layout and a heat-conductive structure.

It also uses a system the company calls Thermal Guard, which actively monitors the charger’s temperature multiple times per second to keep the surface from getting too hot. The internal components are packed to achieve a power density of 1.496W/cm³, with an energy conversion efficiency of 90%.

For device safety, the charger includes standard protections against overcurrent, overvoltage, and short circuits, all housed in a flame-retardant shell. It also features a voltage regulation system that adjusts power delivery as your device charges.

In a recent essay posted on X, Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella raised some serious concerns about the long-term impact of advanced AI on businesses. His main worry? Powerful AI models are getting so good at absorbing specialized corporate knowledge that the very companies creating this expertise could end up at a big disadvantage.

Nadella cautions that without careful steps, a small handful of dominant AI companies could end up capturing most of the economic value. He puts it bluntly: no one wants “a world where every company across every sector is ceding value to a few models that eat everything they see.” He also stresses there’s “no societal permission for an AI future that hollows out entire industries.”

He draws a parallel to the early days of globalization, when outsourcing boosted overall GDP numbers but also eroded industrial bases, jobs, and local expertise in many places, effects we’re still dealing with today. Nadella doesn’t want AI to repeat that same mistake, where value gets pulled away from traditional companies and funneled toward just a few tech giants.

Instead, he’s pushing for a more open and decentralized AI world. Companies need to keep control of their own “learning systems” and build internal AI capabilities. He talks about combining “human capital” (judgment, relationships, and creativity) with “token capital” (proprietary AI trained on their own data). That way, businesses can protect their competitive edge and keep driving real innovation.

This isn’t just Nadella’s view. Other leaders like Snowflake CEO Sridhar Ramaswamy and Box CEO Aaron Levy have made similar points, warning that big companies could become little more than data suppliers for powerful external AI models, losing their ability to stand out.

A pretty exciting breakthrough has surfaced for Apple Silicon. A developer has figured out how to bypass restrictions on the M4’s Neural Engine (ANE) to enable on-device AI model training, something Apple has kept locked down so far.

Normally, the Neural Engine in M4 chips is mainly used for running (inference) pre-trained models efficiently. But security researcher and developer @0x0SojalSec announced on X that they successfully reverse-engineered the limitations. They’ve managed to unlock up to 15.8 TFLOPS of compute power for full training workloads, including backpropagation on transformer models.

Instead of relying on Apple’s usual Core ML or Metal frameworks, the team built a custom Model Intermediate Language (MIL) to talk directly to the Neural Engine. They keep everything in RAM to avoid slow storage writes, which makes the process surprisingly fast and stable. They even found a workaround using the exec() command to restart the process when training gets stuck, allowing it to checkpoint and keep going.

The developer has shared the project on GitHub, showing that it’s possible to train neural networks directly on the ANE hardware with minimal extra dependencies. Early tests show impressive results, like completing transformer training steps in just milliseconds on M4 chips.

Apple hasn’t officially enabled or supported training on the Neural Engine (they market it as delivering up to 38 TOPS for inference only). This reverse-engineering effort shows there’s a lot more potential hidden in these chips than most people realized.

HyperOS 4 may not debut on the Xiaomi 18 series first, rather this foldable

A new Xiaomi phone has been spotted in network certification records under the model number 2608BPX34C. This is the same model number that has been tied to Xiaomi’s upcoming foldable in earlier reports, so there is a good chance this listing belongs to the same device. 

The listing confirms support for the network connectivity up to 5G along with UWB (Ultra-Wideband) technology.

Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 Radio Certification

However, it doesn’t reveal the moniker of the foldable. According to previous rumors, it could be called either the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 or the Xiaomi 17 Fold. 

What we know so far

The foldable is said to be powered by Xiaomi’s new self-made chip, the XRING O3, and a new rumor by Digital Chat Station also suggests that it could be the first phone to run the company’s upcoming HyperOS 4 software.

What’s interesting is that the tipster suggests the foldable could launch before the Xiaomi 18 series. The basis of the claim is that the Xiaomi 18 series hasn’t appeared on the certification yet, so a launch before the Mix Fold 5 is highly unlikely.

As for HyperOS 4, Xiaomi is reportedly building AI directly into its system apps. It’s also expected to bring support for miclaw AI agent

Back in early June, reports said Xiaomi is working on the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 with the new in-house O3 chip and a 200-megapixel camera sensor. 

Likewise, a previous report suggests the device could feature a wider inner display than the Mix Fold 4. It’s also said to be more expensive than its predecessor. 

The device could cost around 10,000 yuan (roughly $1,380), a 10% increase in price compared to Mix Fold 4, which launched at 8,999 yuan (around $1,240).

With certification now underway, an official unveiling may not be too far off.

Unlike other brands, Google rolls out the update to all eligible devices at the same time. However, availability may vary depending on your region. You can manually check for available software updates by navigating to Settings > System > System Update.

For non-beta users, the update package is a few gigabytes. Beta users are receiving a much smaller package, as most of the changes have already been rolled out to devices via early builds.

Android 17: New features and major upgrades

1. New AI features

With Android 17, Pixel phones receive a bundle of AI features to help them make the most out of their devices. It introduces Lyria 3 for generating original music from a text/image prompt, and Gemini Omni allows users to turn a text prompt into a custom video clip (requires a Gemini Pro subscription).

The Voice Translate feature is now available on the Pixel 10a, while the Manual Call Screen feature is expanding to India. The update also extends Quick Share — AirDrop compatibility to Pixel 9a and Pixel 8a, while the Pixel 10 series gets access to Magic Cue.

2. Bubbles receives its biggest upgrade yet

The Bubbles feature, which has been limited to messaging apps for years, now works with all apps. That means you can now turn any app into a floating bubble and use it alongside other applications. To use this feature, long-press an app icon and choose the Bubble option.

On tablets and foldable devices, there’s a new Bubble Bar in the bottom-right corner that organizes and holds app bubbles.

3. Screen Reactions

With this feature, you can record yourself using the selfie camera while capturing your screen, eliminating the need for a green screen. This feature can be pretty helpful for folks creating tutorials, reaction videos, or gameplay recordings.

4. Foldable gaming mode

This feature splits a fold into a 50/50 layout with the game on top and a dynamic gamepad below. The Foldable gaming mode is enabled in Android 17 and will be available in the coming months.

To further level up your gaming experience, Android 17 supports native controller remapping for external controllers.

5. Continue app state on another device

The Continue On feature has made it to the final release. It allows users to seamlessly transition a task between Android devices. That means you can now open an app on your mobile device and continue working on it on your tablet without losing state.

As Google mentioned, “the user sees a suggestion for the most recently opened app from their mobile in their tablet taskbar.” When tapped, the app launches without losing its state.

6. Security and privacy

Android 17 allows the user to grant an app temporary access to their precise location. There’s also a new “Mark as lost” feature in Find Hub that lets you lock a missing phone behind your biometrics. So, even if a thief knows your passcode, he won’t be able to unlock it.

You can now give apps temporary access to your specific contacts. Those apps won’t be able to track any changes you make to a contact’s information.

Qualcomm launches Snapdragon Reality Elite: 60% stronger GPU, 160% better NPU, runs up to 12°C cooler

Qualcomm has unveiled its latest flagship XR platform, the Snapdragon Reality Elite, aimed at bringing powerful on-device generative AI to wearable devices like smart glasses and standalone headsets. The goal is to deliver more immersive experiences while keeping the devices lighter, cooler, and more comfortable to wear for longer periods.

Compared to the previous Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2, this new chipset brings some meaningful upgrades: around 60% better GPU performance, 30% stronger CPU, up to 20% longer battery life, and it runs as much as 12°C cooler under load. Those efficiency gains, if translated into real life, will be huge for all-day wearability.

One of the biggest highlights is the massive leap in AI power. The upgraded Hexagon NPU now delivers 48 TOPS, a 160% improvement. This means it can handle heavier large language models (LLMs) and large vision models directly on the device, enabling real-time contextual awareness, smart AI agents, photorealistic avatars, and advanced computer vision with much lower latency.

On the visual side, it supports high-resolution displays up to 4.4K per eye at 90Hz, with hardware ray tracing and much better video see-through (VST) quality for smoothly blending digital content with the real world. It’s built to power both all-in-one headsets and lighter tethered/split-compute designs within the growing Android XR ecosystem.

The first devices using this platform are expected later in 2026. XREAL’s Project Aura glasses (which use a dual-chip setup with a compute puck) will be among the early adopters, and Play for Dream is also working on an immersive device based on it.

To help speed things up for other brands, Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon START program, a toolkit with reference designs and full support to help companies bring AI-powered smart glasses and personal AI wearables to market faster.

Design-wise, the Yoga Pro 9n borrows heavily from the Intel-powered Yoga Pro 9i, though it gets a slightly smaller 15-inch OLED screen instead of the 9i’s 16-inch panel. 

The chassis is made of aluminum and finished in a shade Lenovo calls Thunder Gray. The lid has a raised section in the middle to house a Windows Hello IR camera for face login.

Since the RTX Spark chip runs hot, Lenovo has built in a wide air intake on the bottom and a large exhaust vent at the back to keep things cool.

On the audio side, the laptop packs six speakers (four woofers and two tweeters), with support for Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision, plus Lenovo’s PureSight Pro display certification. A fun extra is a magnetic pen slot on the lid that holds the Yoga Pen Gen 2, which is apparently meant for sketching directly on the touchpad.

As for I/O, the left edge holds HDMI, a USB-A port, a 10Gbps USB-C port, and a headphone jack, while the right side adds a full-size SD card slot, another 10Gbps USB-C port, another USB-A port, a charging light, and a physical camera kill-switch.

Powering the machine is said to be RTX Spark N1X chip, the top-of-the-line, featuring a 20-core Grace CPU (10 Cortex-X925 performance cores plus 10 Cortex-A725 efficiency cores) with a Blackwell GPU carrying 6,144 CUDA cores and fifth-generation Tensor cores. It supports up to 128GB of unified memory and claims 1 petaflop of AI performance at FP4 precision.

With renders now out in the open, an official launch can’t be too far behind.

LYTIA L910 is Sony’s first mobile camera sensor with LOFIC architecture

Sony has unveiled the LYTIA L910, a new camera sensor designed for smartphones that focuses on improving image quality in challenging lighting conditions. The sensor introduces several imaging technologies aimed at delivering more realistic photos and videos while keeping power consumption under control. It is also the first model in Sony’s LYTIA family to incorporate the company’s LOFIC architecture.

The LYTIA L910 is a 1/1.28-inch stacked CMOS sensor with approximately 50 effective megapixels and a 1.22μm pixel size. The key highlight is its ability to achieve a dynamic range of up to 100 dB from a single exposure. Unlike conventional HDR methods that combine multiple exposures, Sony’s approach captures the required image data in one shot, helping reduce motion blur and flickering when photographing moving subjects or bright light sources.

To achieve this, Sony has paired the LOFIC structure with Triple Conversion Gain HDR technology. The sensor reads information from a single exposure at three different conversion gains, enabling improved preservation of details in both bright and dark areas of a scene. The company says this helps minimise highlight clipping while also reducing noise in shadow regions, resulting in more balanced images with smoother tonal transitions.

Sony has also introduced Ultra High Conversion Gain circuit technology, which improves charge-to-voltage conversion efficiency. According to the company, random noise is reduced by around 30 per cent compared to the LYTIA 828 sensor, helping improve image quality in low-light environments such as night-time cityscapes illuminated by LED lights.

The sensor is further supported by an optimised circuit design that reduces power requirements during image processing. This enables 4K HDR video recording at 60fps while maintaining high dynamic range performance. The LYTIA L910 can capture full-resolution 50-megapixel images at up to 30fps and 12.5-megapixel images at up to 120fps.

Sony plans to begin mass-production shipments of the sensor in summer 2026. Likely, the Vivo X500 series and the Oppo Find X10 lineup will be the first to feature the Sony LYT-L910.

Honor X80 Pro Max Confirmed as World’s First Phone With 10,000-Nit Display

Honor has now made it official—the upcoming Honor X80 Pro Max will be the industry’s first smartphone with a peak screen brightness above 10,000 nits. The news comes just days after Honor confirmed the phone’s June 22 launch date and revealed its massive 11,000mAh battery.

A new poster shared by Honor shows the X80 Pro Max will use a 1.5K (2788×1280) panel running at 120Hz, with its brightness rated 67% higher than the Honor X70. The bezels around the screen are also slim, measuring just 1.3mm.

Honor also confirmed the phone will run on its new Hummingbird Architecture 2.0. According to the company, this update can make short-video playback up to 40% smoother, and it also handles memory cleanup in the background to keep the phone running smoothly over time.

On durability, the X80 Pro Max has earned SGS’s Gold Label Five-Star rating for drop resistance, surviving falls from up to 3 meters. To back this up, Honor is rolling out a free screen replacement service for drop damage, something the brand says is a first for the industry.

The phone goes official on June 22 at 7:00 PM. However, most of its specs are out, thanks to a steady stream of leaks. 

Its 10,000 nits display is said to measure 6.8 inches and will house an 8MP front camera. The back will have a 50MP rear camera with OIS support. While the body and frames will likely be made out of plastic.

Powering the phone could be the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset that Qualcomm announced just recently. The phone will also have an optical fingerprint scanner for biometrics and an IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K rating for dust and water resistance. 

Last but not least, despite packing a 11,000mAh cell, the device is said to measure just 8.08mm thick and weigh 203g.

Huawei Pura X Max surpasses sales figures of all previous Huawei foldables

Early sales of Huawei‘s first “wide-format” horizontal foldable have been impressive, suggesting that more people are warming up to foldables when they’re actually designed with real-world use in mind.

In a recent video, Yu Chengdong (Huawei’s Executive Director and Chairman of the Terminal BG) explained some of the thoughtful decisions behind the phone. One of the standout features is its √2:1 screen ratio when unfolded, inspired by the proportions of an A4 sheet of paper. This ratio was chosen so content looks natural and scales smoothly whether the phone is open or closed, solving a common frustration with earlier foldables.

Huawei’s team discovered that most people still use foldables mostly in their folded, compact form. So they focused heavily on making the big inner screen as enjoyable as possible, adjusting bezels, optimizing common content ratios, and considering things like typical viewing distance (around 30cm) and comfortable eye movement. The goal was to create a device that feels like a proper mini-tablet when opened, without awkward distortions.

The results so far have been excellent. According to analyst @RDObservation, the Pura X Max series sold around 343,700 units in its first month (as of late May 2026). That’s higher than any previous Huawei foldable in the same period. Interestingly, the more expensive Collector’s Edition accounted for a big chunk — about 198,500 units — showing strong demand even at premium prices. Counterpoint Research data also confirms it’s outperforming the Mate X7 and earlier Pura X models in the early weeks.

This early success shows that consumers are responding well to Huawei’s focus on practical design and HarmonyOS optimizations. The Pura X Max feels like a good bridge between a smartphone and a tablet, without being too bulky.

Lenovo launches Legion PB9 170W power bank with unique triangular design, 24,000mAh battery

Lenovo has been on a launching spree for charging accessories lately. After announcing the Lenovo Hybrid 2-in-1 Power Bank yesterday, the company today launched the Lenovo Legion PB9 Gaming Laptop Fast Charging Power Bank.

The new model, also known as the LPB9, is now available in China with a retail price of 549 yuan (~$81), while an introductory offer brings the price down to 489 yuan (~$82).

What makes this power bank special is its design. Unlike the rectangular shape dominant on most power banks, Lenovo has opted for a more distinctive wedge-like or triangular profile.

The front panel combines a transparent, cyberpunk-inspired look with large “170W” branding. A built-in color display sits on the left side of the front panel and shows useful information such as remaining battery level, charging time, and real-time input and output power.

The top of the device houses three charging ports: two USB-C and one USB-A. According to Lenovo, the power bank can deliver up to 140W output from a single USB-C port. The USB-A port supports up to 30W output.

When multiple ports are used together, the Legion PB9 can provide a combined output of up to 170W. In dual-port mode, the two USB-C ports can deliver up to 100W and 65W simultaneously, while using one USB-C and the USB-A port allows a 140W + 30W split. With all three ports active, the power bank supports a 65W + 65W + 18W distribution.

Inside, the Legion PB9 packs a 24,000mAh lithium-ion battery with a typical energy rating of 86.4Wh. It supports a range of fast charging protocols, including Lenovo’s proprietary 140W fast charging, PD 3.1, PD 3.0, PD 2.0, PPS, QC 4.0, QC 3.0, Apple 5V/2.4A, BC1.2, AFC, HSCP, and FCP.

Microsoft launches new Surface Pro and Surface Laptop with Snapdragon X2 chips

Microsoft has released its latest generation of Surface hardware. The 12th Edition Surface Pro and 8th Edition Surface Laptop are available for consumers starting today, June 16, with enterprise models scheduled for release on July 14. The primary update for this hardware cycle is the integration of Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon X2 architecture.

Both the tablet and laptop lines are equipped with either the 10-core Snapdragon X2 Plus or the 12-core Snapdragon X2 Elite processors. These chips include a Qualcomm Hexagon NPU capable of 80 TOPS, which Microsoft says is designed to handle local AI processing tasks within Windows.

Memory configurations for the devices start at 16GB and can be upgraded to 64GB, while storage options range from 256GB (or 512GB on the 15-inch laptop) up to 1TB.

The Surface Laptop is available in two screen sizes: 13.8 inches and 15 inches. The 13.8-inch model starts at $1,599 and features a 120Hz LCD screen with a pixel density of 201 PPI. Microsoft’s battery estimates suggest up to 20 hours of local video playback.

The 15-inch version, starting at $1,699, includes a denser display at 262 PPI and adds a MicroSDXC card reader. Both laptops include two USB-C/USB4 ports and one USB-A port. The 13.8-inch model is also available in a new green colorway called Jade, alongside the standard Platinum, Black, and Dune options.

On the 2-in-1 side, the 13-inch Surface Pro 12 starts at $1,499 and is available in Platinum, Black, and Dune. The distinct hardware change for this generation is the availability of an optional OLED display, which retains the 120Hz dynamic refresh rate found on the LCD models.

The tablet includes a 1440p ultrawide front-facing camera, Wi-Fi 7 support, and two USB-C/USB4 ports. Battery life is rated at up to 15.5 hours for local video playback.
